Bare with me that this is my first guide and i might make more with your request.Well enjoy tis guide as this is my first! =============================================================================== =============================================================================== == Guide to get shinies == =============================================================================== =============================================================================== /=====================/ /1.0 Faqs / /=====================/ Q)What is a shiny? A)A shiny is very rare.It is a pokemon which has a different colour.When entering a battle,this pokemon shines up and stars go around it.It is so rare you might not see one in the whole game Q)What are the chances of getting the shiny without your method? A)Mathematically 1/8192,which is a very low chance of getting this rare things. Q)What are the differnces between shiny and normal? A)Pretty much nothing.But having one is very rare,most people think these rare and exclusive pokemon are for bragging rights.But you can tell they never had one. Q)Are shinies stronger,have more stats or exclusive moves? A)No,they are identical in every way except apperance. Q)Where can you find them? A)Anywhere in the map! Q)Is there really a point in having one? A)Yes there is,showing off.Bragging rights! Okay now that i cleared things up,i think you all are curious to see how i get these shinies.It is pretty simple. /=====================/ /2.0 Items / /=====================/ Well you would be needing some items for this expedition.I will clear it up.What you need is: 1)PokeRader-You need this for chaining 2)Max Repel-This is used so that no wild pokemon would break your chain(recommend alot) 3)A pokemon with alot of PP moves so you don't have to restart 4)A PokeRader Poketech-To keep track of how many chains you made. 5)Poke Balls-Do you want the shiny? 6)PP restoring items-So you can get restore your PP after wasting your PP ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Where to Obtain: PokeRader-From Proffesor Oak in Pal Park Max Repel-At time in your adventure this will be unlocked Poke Balls-PokeMart Elixir-Route 212,Galactic HQ,Vicotry Road,PickUp ability Ether-Etherna Forest,Route 215,Route 220,Stark Mountain,PickUp ability,Using dowsing machine Poketch App. /=====================/ /3.0 PokeRader / /=====================/ You might not know how to use this item.So i will clear things up for you. This is used for chaining,chaining is a method of getting the exact pokemon in a row.To do this start the pokerader at a ideal patch of grass,To tell if its ideal go to a grass with a large amount of space.now activate your pokerader.As you can see alot of grass shook,Now go on a grass which has just shook.Once you step in the grass, a pokemon will appear.Then when defeating that pokemon more grass would shake,once again. After going on the grass,hope that its the saame pokemon.There is alot of ways to break a chain. /=====================/ /4.0 Reseting Rader / /=====================/ Ok reseting the Pokerader is very important.You might notice that you would have to walk 50 steps to reset your PokeRader.If you do not remember what patches where shaking after you reset the rader then walk mini steps to 50.This is important when the rules of chaining is broken(Section 5.0).Restart it and you would see diferent grass shaking. Do not worry as this would not reset your progresson chaining. /=====================/ /5.0 Hunting shinies / /=====================/ Ok before i tell you,you must have the items and know how to use the PokeRader. Okey lets start.Make sure your pokemon are healed,now go to your rivals little sister, she will tell you what swarm has appeared(If you don't know what a swarm is,look at bottem FAQ).Now go to that spot and find a patch of grass that has alot of grass and is a ideal spot.A idel spot is a patch of grass that covers the whole screen. Once you start a chain choose one that is not all glittery.When you start battling faint or catch it(Optional).Now once you finish the pokemon,the chains start.To keep in mind,you do not want to brake a chain.You must remember the rules of chaining. They are: 1)Only choose a patch of grass if four patches are shaking 2)Choose a grass that shakes like the other patches of grass 3)Do not choose a grass that forces you out of the Pokerader 4)Only choose the patch of grass furthest away from you or atleast 4 steps away 5)When using a repel,restart the Pokerader 6)Never go to grasses in corners 7)Avoid the grass that is next to you 8)Restart the rader when you have failed 9)Never flee from a pokemon 10)Never use your bike No if one of them is broken(except 10),restart your rader.Its alot to remember but you wil get use to it.So don't worry!Don't fell bad when you broke your chain.Take a brake and start a new chain /=====================/ /6.0 Hints and Tips / /=====================/ Now if your still finding diffuculty i have some Hints and Tips to help you. 1)Never go behind you,because it is not visible and could break your chain 2)If the pokemon your after knows how to destroy itself or flees you might want a pokeball that is very effective in that area 3)Belived that when a pokemon that has the ability static could get you a higher chance of wild electric types 4)Also beelived that the Item Magnet could get you mreo wild Pokemon 5)Swarms are the best way of chaining.They appear more often and is more easy. 6)Take a rest by just closing your DS.You are not able to save,turn off and play at that current place of chaining.It is best if you took a rest when you are facing a wild pokemon. 7)You need patients,i know its fustrating /=====================/ /7.0 More questions / /=====================/ Q)What is a swarm? A)A unusal pokemon that appears wild in a route Q)How many shinies can you get in a single chain? A)Once at 30-40 just keep reseting and you can get alot. Q)Is there a limit to shinies?
