Basically speaking, a legendary is a pokemon that is shiny (1a), one-of-a-kind (1b), or in your opinion is really cool!!!!!

Let's take Rayquaza for example. You must have a mach bike and go through Sky Pillar. Blah, blah, blah, blah, and you get to the top and you see this giant snake-like dragon thing lying there on the floor! Whoa, there "Eager McBeaver" you've got to save before he flyies away! "Oh, no! Help!" ...Just kidding :-) He doesn't fly away. Anyway, save before you fight him for to reasons. 1.If you kill him without saving, then guess what? Bye, bye Rayquaza. 2. If he kills you some of you slow people (kidding) will think, "Duh, I doen't lose no money!" Well, yes but you still won't be able to capture him because you'll have to run against your will. Run, Forrest, run! Um... anyway when you come back, he'll be gone! You slow people (kidding again...sheesh! Can't you peeps take a joke!?!) Will be like, "Duh! Where'd he go?" Gone, you half-mind, slack jaw hillbilly! (You guys do know I'm kidding, right?) He won't be there because you ran against your will because if you didn't, youd've been torn apart like tissue paper! Ahahahahaha! Um... Anyway save before you fight. Try to get him down to yellow because he will most likely use outrage, which will confuse him on the 4th or 5th turn. Use something like a sleep or paralyz condition. then, use your ultra or master ball. If he pops out, don't sweat it, he won't fly (or will he) keep using pokeballs and eventually capture him. Bwahahahahahaha! *cough, cough* Now, he's yours for keeps.
