1~. Introduction

"Gyakuten Saiban 3", known outside Japan as "Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney
Trials and Tribulations", is an interesting court simulation where you'll
have to solve several cases. Usually, you first visit several locations,
in order to gather evidence that may help you, and you later go to court,
where you have to defend your client.
These actions may sound easy, but when you're playing the game (and
particularly in later cases) you may find it hard to decrypt the problems
in people's testimonies, or even fail to find particular objects. That's
why this guide was written, to help you in the many spots that you may get
stuck.
Since some parts of this guide may ruin the game for you, I strongly
suggest you try to read only the information you want, in order not to
ruin the rest of the game for you. I'll try to limit the spoilers that I
include in this guide (apart from a reference to items and character's
testimonies, I won't include any storyline details), but the rest is up to
you.
I hope you enjoy this guide as much as I liked writing it.

2.1~. Case One - Turnabout Memories

First case, and it turns out being a very simple one, if you already know
the gameplay basics. Here, unlike in the next cases, you'll have
everything simply given to you, and there is no need to research, unlike
what happens in the next cases.

2.1.1~. Trial, Part One

Shortly after starting the game, you'll face this case. After an
introduction to the case and lots of conversation, you'll face your very
question. As you can discover by checking the "Court Record" and paying a
look to "Doug's Autopsy Report", the correct answer is "Electrocution".
When asked the next question, simply press R (or click "Profiles"), and
then show the judge the profile of "Dalia Hawthorne".
Eventually, you'll face Phoenix's testimony, which goes like this:

"
Um, I... I admit I was there...

But I'm not a killer! All I did was find his body!

I hardly knew the guy to begin with...

I never even talked to that stuck-up British wannabe!
"

As you may notice, there's something fishy here. Press both statements
three ("I hardly knew the guy to begin with...") and four ("I never even
talked to that stuck-up British wannabe!") and a new statement will be
added, changing the testimony to:

"
Um, I... I admit I was there...

But I'm not a killer! All I did was find his body!

I hardly knew the guy to begin with...

I never even talked to that stuck-up British wannabe!

He was always walking around with a huge Union Jack on the back of his
shirt.
"

Select the new statement ("He was always walking around with a huge Union
Jack on the back of his shirt.") and present "Crime Photo 1" in order to
continue. After gathering two new pieces of evidence, you'll face another
testimony:

"
The truth is...
I went because he called me.

He was in the Pharmacology Dept., so we agreed to meet at 2:45 behind that
building.

We talked for a bit, and then at around 3:00, we split up.

Then later when I went back, I found him lying there.

I'd been taking Coldkiller X for the last 2 or 3 days...

But I lost my bottle of it around lunchtime on the day of the accident.
"

Press the second statement and, when asked, press further by selecting the
"About Pharmacology Dept." option. Keep on playing, pressing the last
statement, and eventually the judge will start talking about the murder
method. When that happens, be sure to choose "Establish murder method" and
show "Crime Photo 1" as the evidence supporting your claim. When you get
the chance to do so, point the cursor at the top of the fallen wire, the
one visible above the victim's body, and a long storyline sequence will
appear, stating:

"
That guy... He was talking bad about Dollie...

I lost my temper and gave him a shove!

At that moment, I heard some kind of loud noise...

A little while after I left, I started to get worried.

So I went back. But he-he was just just lying there, d-dead!
"

Press statement three ("At that moment, I heard some kind of loud
noise...") to know more about the loud noise, and "Ask for more details"
when that's possible. As you may easily understand, you should later pick
"Of course it's important!" in order to proceed, and such detail will be
changed in this character's testimony:

"
That guy... He was talking bad about Dollie...

I lost my temper and gave him a shove!

After I shoved him, he... He fell down on top of his cheap umbrella.

A little while after I left, I started to get worried.

So I went back. But he-he was just just lying there, d-dead!
"

Select the new statement, "After I shoved him, he... He fell down on top
of his cheap umbrella", and once again present the "Crime Photo 1", which
will later grant you new pieces of evidence, just before heading to the
recess.

2.1.2~. Trial, Part Two

Ms. Dahlia will be called to the stand, and she'll shortly after issue her
first testimony, which goes like this:

"
I had been planning to go back to Feenie's place after class was
over.

Feenie and Dougie...
They were talking behind the building.

Then suddenly... Dougie got all wobbly and just collapsed.

That's when Feenie noticed that I was there.

I went to go and find some other students and they called the authorities.
"

Press the third statement ("Then suddenly... Dougie got all wobbly and
just collapsed") and "Show contradiction", which will make this witness
rephrase her testimony:

"
I had been planning to go back to Feenie's place after class was
over.

Feenie and Dougie...
They were talking behind the building.

Um, actually, I didn't see the moment he pushed Dougie.

It didn't look like they were fighting, and I didn't hear any noise
either.

I went to go and find some other students and they called the authorities.
"

Select the forth statement ("It didn't look like they were fighting, and I
didn't hear any noise either") and present "Phoenix's Testimony" to
proceed. When asked for a certain detail, state that "There was
lightning", which turns out being very important. When it becomes
possible, simply present "Phoenix Wright"'s profile to discover some more
details on this case. Dahlia testifies, once again:

"
The truth is... Feenie pushed him twice.

The first time was into the electrical pole. That's when the cable broke.

Then Dougie tried his best to run away from him...

But Feenie caught up and crashed into him from behind.

The cable snapping, and Dougie being electrocuted - it all occured in less
than a minute.
"

Select the fifth statement ("The cable snapping, and Dougie being
electrocuted - it all occured in less than a minute") and present "Crime
Photo 2". When asked for the culprit, present "Dahlia Hawthorne"'s
profile and Grossberg will eventually arrive. Yet again, Dahlia will
testify:

"
I first met my darling Feenie eight months ago.

It's like we were destined to meet in this very courthouse's basement
reading room.

The moment our eyes met, my heart skipped a beat!

We've been going out ever since that fateful day.
"

Press the second statement, "It's like we were destined to meet in this
very courthouse's basement reading room" and "Keep pressing", which will
lead to a new section in her testimony:

"
I first met my darling Feenie eight months ago.

It's like we were destined to meet in this very courthouse's basement
reading room.

I had come to this courthouse to do some research for a paper I was
writing.

The moment our eyes met, my heart skipped a beat!

We've been going out ever since that fateful day.
"

Select the new statement ("I had come to this courthouse to do some
research for a paper I was writing.") and present the "Police Report",
which will make Dhalia release yet another testimony:

"
I met the lawyer who was poisoned to discuss something in the cafeteria
that day.

I left my seat for just a moment, and that's when it happened!

From what I heard, it was a liquid poison that is lethal at just 2
teaspoons.

Not only that, I heard it was a very special kind of poison.

So you see, I'm innocent! I wouldn't even know where to get a poison like
that!
"

Select statement number five ("So you see, I'm innocent! I wouldn't even
know where to get a poison like that!") and present "Doug Swallow"'s
profile. When asked for a container, pick "Dahlia's Present", and state
the reason they're dating to be "because of that necklace". A long
storyline sequence follows, and when you're asked who she was trying to
kill, simply pick "Phoenix Wright"'s profile. Later, support your claim by
presenting "Coldkiller X".
Doing so will complete this case, and you'll finally be able to see how it
all ends, and how it may affect future cases.

2.2~. Case Two - The Stolen Turnabout

The introduction sequence for this case is just great, and I'm sure you'll
agree with me after seeing it. Also, in case you've played the previous
games, you'll also be able to see some fishy details in there, which will
be cleared up as you advance further in the case.
This case is also where your first (well, first in this game, if you've
played the previous titles) exploration sequences occur, and you should be
more careful than before, which can spare you a lot of time, preventing
you from having to backtrace all locations for several times.

2.2.1~. Exploration

After the big storyline sequence, move to the "Basement Warehouse". When
you have the chance for it, examine the golden statue in the right side of
the room (you'll get "Ami Fey's Golden Statue" for doing so) and talk to
Andrews about all possible subjects.
After all the storyline sequences, talk to Maya about all possible
subjects to get the "Sacred Urn" and then move to the "Main Exhibition
Hall". There, talk to Detective Gumshoe about all possible subjects to
unlock "DeMasque's Calling Card", before moving to the "Basement
Warehouse".
When you get there, talk to the new character about all three subjects and
present him "DeMasque's Calling Card". After Atmey goes away, examine the
computer, seen next to the office, in the left part of the screen. This
will get you the "Camera Data", and you should then examine two other
elements, the green sword (seen in the left side of the screen, and the
golden statue, available in the right side. Checking both these elements
will add the "Shichishito" and update "Ami Fey's Golden Statue"
information. Move to the "Main Exhibition Hall", and after the cutscene
head to "Wright & Co. Law Offices". Finally, move to the "Detention
Center". Talk about all subjects and then move to "De Masque's Hideout".
Present Desire "Mask deMasque"'s profile, and then talk to her about all
possible subjects, in order to unlock "Desire Letter". Head back to the
"Detention Center", present the newly-acquired letter and choose any
option (it doesn't really matter which answer you pick), before heading
back to the office.
Talk to Maya about all possible subjects, before moving back to the "Main
Exhibition Hall". There, talk to Andrews about the two subjects and move
to "Atmey Detective Agency".
Talk to Atmey on all three subjects, before presenting him the "Magatama",
something that you probably know from the last game. Show him the "Camera
Data", say that he was "unconscious" and complete the cycle by showing him
the "Shichishito". After that, talk to him about the third subject yet
again, to unlock the "Security Camera Photo" and update another one of
your evidence items. Talk about the new subject, before heading back to
"De Masque's Hideout".
Examine the blue table, shown in the lower left corner of the screen, and
talk to him about all three subjects, which will grant you "Ron's
Wallet" and a "Key Card". When you're done, present the "Key Card" and the

"
Blackmail Letter", before talking about the forth subject. When you're
done, go to "Atmey Detective Agency" and check the black bag (it is on top
of the white table). After that, talk about all three subjects to end this
part of the game.

2.2.2~. Trial

After a few storyline sequences and the presentation of a new prosecutor,
this case's first testimony will take place. Gumshoe will state:

"
Mask DeMasque is a master thief that first started his crime spree 6
months ago.

He's so confident that he sends his calling card before he even commits
the crime!

This was his fifth heist, and as usual, he sent a card on to Lordly
Tailor.

His pattern is to always go after only the most precious art pieces.

That's why we're sure it was Mask DeMasque, sir. It fits his M.O. to a T!
"

Select the forth phrase ("His pattern is to always go after only the most
precious art pieces.") and present the "Sacred Urn". When asked for
evidence that supports your claims, present the "Security Camera Photo"
and point to the top of the character's chest. Next, Atmey will testify,
stating:

"
It was approximately 1 o'clock in the morning...
just after the date changed.

That's when my nemesis, the infamous Mask*DeMasque, dancingly descended
upon me!

Just as I began to turn, the coward struck a fierce bloe upon my noble
head!

Darkness swallowed me before I could land a single strike. When I awoke,
he was gone.

Thirty minutes later, I used an emergency phone to notify the police!
"

When confronted with the third statement, "Darkness swallowed me before I
could land a single strike. When I awoke, he was gone", you should present
"DeMasque's Broach", which will lead to another testimony:

"
Indeed, it's true that I looked away from the door for a brief moment.

However...
Luke Atmey cannot be so easily discombobulated!

Unfortunately, the thief grabbed a weapon from the side and... rendered me
senseless.

A true gentlemen fights only with his own fists... But they were not
enough.

His first blow struck true!
Bam!
... And that's all she wrote.
"

Press the last statement and be sure to ask about "Atmey Fighting Style?",
which will lead to important details. Obviously, select "It was very
important", and a new section will be added to the previous testimony:

"
Indeed, it's true that I looked away from the door for a brief moment.

However...
Luke Atmey cannot be so easily discombobulated!

Unfortunately, the thief grabbed a weapon from the side and... rendered me
senseless.

A true gentlemen fights only with his own fists... But they were not
enough.

I put my back to the wall to fight, but the thief's blow landed upon my
third eye.
"

Here, you should select the new (and now last...) statement, presenting
the "Shichishito" as evidence. Later on, state that "Mr. Atmey is Mask
DeMasque!", and that decisive evidence "has yet to be found!". When you
are asked about a way to prove that where the urn was, reply "Show
fingerprints on the urn" and follow by presenting "Phoenix Wright"'s very
own profile. Eventually, Ron will testify:

"
The truth is, I've been Mask DeMasque all along!

I mean, you can't prove that I'm not actually Mask DeMasque, can you?

I don't have an alibi for the night the urn was stolen, after all!

I donned my costume tht night and dancingly descended upon the scene of
the crime!

Look! You can see right there in the photo!
That's me!

As for my broach, I snagged it on the door handle and it got torn off,
that's all!
"

Press the third statement ("I don't have an alibi for the night the urn
was stolen, after all!") and state that "Yes, I have evidence", supporting
your claim by presenting "Ron's Wallet". When asked for more evidence,
present the "Blackmail Letter", along with "Larry Butz"'s profile. This
will eventually grant you a Not Guilty verdict, but this case isn't over
yet. After a long storyline sequence, you'll have to continue playing, but
with a slightly different target.

2.2.3~. Exploration

Talk to Maya about all subjects and then move to "DeMasque's Hideout",
where you should talk about all subjects, before moving to the "CEO's
Office".
Talk to Gumshoe about all subjects, which will unlock "Kane's Autopsy
Report" and a "Newspaper Clipping". Next, examine the red button, placed
to the next of the painting, which will add the "CEO Office Buzzer" to
the Court Record. EXamine the big file, the one with a red sticker, placed
on the table, to acquire "Kane's List". Now, move to the "Security Room",
where you'll find a familiar face.
Talk to Butz about all subjects and present him the "Magatama". Next,
present him "Ron's Wallet" and "CEO Office Key Card", which will allow you
to get more information and proceed in this case. Present him the "CEO
Office Buzzer", and talk to him about the new subject to receive the
"Buzzer Record". Go back to the "CEO's Office".
Present "Kane Bullard"'s profile to Gumshoe and talk about the new subject
that will appear. Head to "Main Exhibition Hall" and then to the "Basement
Warehouse", where you should talk to Andrews about all the subjects you
have available. Ignore the lock, head back to the "Main Exhibition Hall",
"CEO's Office", "DeMasque's Hideout" and (finally) go to the "Detention
Center" (if nothing happens, you may have to come here again).
Talk to Ron about all three available subjects and show him the "Newspaper
Clipping" to have it updated. A new subject will appear, and you should
obviously talk about it. Next, talk about the first subject once again,
and you'll get "Ron's Testimony", apart from seeing a long storyline
sequence. When it ends, you'll get the "Sacred Urn" once again, and you
should move to "Wright & Co. Law Offices", "Main Exhibition Hall" and
finally "Basement Warehouse".
Examine the cubic box on the left (you'll get the "Urn Box") and the pink
paint on the right to get the "Paint Marks". First, present the
"Magatama", and then follow with the "Sacred Urn", "Treasure Exhibit
Poster", "Paint Marks" and "Urn Box", in this very same order. When you're
done, talk to Andrews about the last subjects and this part of the game
will end.

2.2.4~. Trial, Part One

Read your way across all the conversation, and you'll eventually face your
first testimony, the one of Ron:

"
That evening, around 1:00am, I went to see Mr. Bullard in his office at KB
Security.

The blackmail letter I got... It ordered me to go there.

I'd been working for KB Security until a year ago, so I knew where his
office was.
"

Press the second statement ("The blackmail letter I got... It ordered me
to go there.") and "Press harder", which will add some information to the
testimony:

"
That evening, around 1:00am, I went to see Mr. Bullard in his office at KB
Security.

The blackmail letter I got... It ordered me to go there.

The blackmail thread didn't scare me. It wasn't going to cause me trouble
or anything.

I'd been working for KB Security until a year ago, so I knew where his
office was.
"

Now, press the last statement ("I'd been working for KB Security until a
year ago, so I knew where his office was.") and insist on the point of
"Why he was fired". This will lead to another change in the testimony:

"
That evening, around 1:00am, I went to see Mr. Bullard in his office at KB
Security.

The blackmail letter I got... It ordered me to go there.

The blackmail thread didn't scare me. It wasn't going to cause me trouble
or anything.

I'd been working for KB Security until a year ago, so I knew where his
office was.

He fired me for selling company secrets... but Dessie doesn't know about
that.
"

Press the previously-acquired statement, i.e. "The blackmail thread didn't
scare me. It wasn't going to cause me trouble or anything", and select
"Yes, he would" as an answer to Phoenix's question, supporting that claim
by showing the "Desire DeLite" profile. Ron will testify, once again:

"
When I entered the office, there was a suspicious shadow there...

Suddenly, I was hit on the forehead. After that, I remember being a bit
dazed.

If I hadn't been wearing that, I would have been killed!

When I came to...
Mr. Bullard was lying there... dead!
"

Obviously, you should press the third statement, "If I hadn't been wearing
that, I would have been killed!", to get more information on what he was
talking about. He will correct his testimony, to say the following:

"
When I entered the office, there was a suspicious shadow there...

Suddenly, I was hit on the forehead. After that, I remember being a bit
dazed.

I'd have been killed if I hadn't been wearing my Mask DeMasque costume!

If I hadn't been wearing that, I would have been killed!

When I came to...
Mr. Bullard was lying there... dead!
"

Press the new statement ("I'd have been killed if I hadn't been wearing my
Mask DeMasque costume!") and "Press harder" when it becomes possible. Once
more, the testimony will be changed:

Mr. Bullard was lying there... dead!

I panicked and hid the body in the safe. It took about 10 minutes.
"

Present the "CEO Office Buzzer", when checking this new statement (the
last one that you can read here!), and later state that "I can prove it
alright", showing the "CEO Office Buzzer" as evidence, once more. State
that it was pressed "To call the security guard". When asked for a
culprit, present "Luke Atmey"'s profile, which will lead to a long
storyline sequence and end this part of the case.

2.2.5~. Trial, Part Two

Some more conversation, and you'll face the first of Atmey's testimonies
concerning this part of the case:

"
I was stealing the urn as Mask DeMasque, just as I announced I would...

I had more than enough time to prepare. It was a pathetically easy job.

A photograph contains no words... But in this case, one turned out to be
my witness.

The time at which the camera captured Mask DeMasque was the same time as
the murder!
"

Press statements two, three and four, before pressing three, i.e. "A
photograph contains no words... But in this case, one turned out to be my
witness", once more. Claim that "You bet there is" something fishy with
the image, and point at the large paint marks, seen to the right of the
character, which you should confirm by presenting "Ami Fey's Golden
Statue". Present "Luke Atmey"'s profile in order to show who moved the
statue, and the only fatal flaw with the picture being the timestamp,
which you should obviously point at. After another long storyline
sequence, Atmey will testify once again:

"
I first received the request from Lordly Tailor about 20 days ago.

The urn was placed in a box, and Zvarri! It was then sent to the
warehouse.

Hence, I was actually unable to see the urn for myself until the day of
the crime.

I knew it was an extremely valuable treasure, so I sent my card 10 days
beforehand.

I then handled security by myself to ensure that my crime would go on
smoothly!

At last, I held the urn in my hands for the first time at 1 AM on October
12th.
"

Select the last statement and present "DeMasque's Calling Card", which
leads to more storyline sequences and yet another testimony:

"
I, Luke Atmey, had no points of contact with the victim whatsoever.

Kane Bullard decided to investigate Mask DeMasque and simply mistook who
he was!

It was Mr. Bullard who wrote the blackmail letter and sent it to Ron
DeLite.

And it was again Mr. Bullard who harbored a grudge against Mr. DeLite for
his betrayal!

Mr. Bullard's mistake is quite excusable. The defendant truly believes he
is Mask DeMasque!

That is why Mr. DeLite saw it fit to kill Kane Bullard. Truly a tragedy...
"

During statement number three ("It was Mr. Bullard who wrote the blackmail
letter and sent it to Ron DeLite"), present the "Blackmail Letter" and
follow by presenting the "Newspaper Clipping". Present, once more, "Luke
Atmey"'s profile as being the blackmailed person, who was oddly trying to
protect his own identity as "a blackmailer". In order to proceed, select
the "Newspaper Clipping" as evidence.
When you're asked for proof of all this, say that you "can't prove it",
which will eventually lead to a giantic testimony from Atmey:

"
Indeed, it is true that I was not at Lordly Tailor.

I had to leave to see about another vitally important job request.

I had known about the date beforehard, so I had this photograph readied.

My brilliant deduction was what informed me that the true culprit was Ron
DeLite.

And thanks to the Key Card and Wallet, it was abundantly clear that he was
there.

I was also able to make a deduction from the buzzer, which only sounded
once.

The button did not have any fingerprints on it... Why?

The victim would have left prints if he sounded it. Which means the killer
sounded it.

Mr. DeLite was wearing his Mask DeMasque outfit, which is why he left no
prints.

And, the blackmail letter?
The victim likely just mistook the color of the jewel.

Zvarri!
Therefore, all the evidence points to that poor boy!
"

Press the nineth statement ("Mr. DeLite was wearing his Mask DeMasque
outfit, which is why he left no prints") and the case will be finally
over. Just keep on reading across the many storyline sequences, and be
sure to show the "Sacred Urn" when asked for a final piece of evidence!

2.3~. Case Three - Recipe for Turnabout

This case starts with a strange sequence, where the hero appears to lose a
case. Oddly, when confronted with such premise, he seems to remember
nothing at all... afterall, what happened? Well, that's what you will have
to figure out while playing the next case!

2.3.1~. Exploration

When you're finally able to do anything, talk to Maya about all possible
subjects. Move to the "Detention Center" and talk to the new character
about all subjects. Present her the "Magazine Clipping" and you'll be able
to visit a new location. So, when possible, move to "Trs Bien".
Examine the magazine rack on the right to get the "Sports Paper". Head
back to the "Detention Center" and present "Sports Paper" to the person
there, before heading back to "Trs Bien" once more.
Talk to the man about all possible subjects, show him "Maggey Byrde"'s
profile and then talk to him about the forth subject. Move to "Vitamin
Square".
Examine the top of the orange in the lower right corner to get "Job
Listings". Move back to "Trs Bien".
Here, present "Job Listings", go to the "Detention Center", head to
"Wright & Co. Law Offices" and finally move to "Criminal Affairs Dept.".
Talk to Gumshoe about all subjects, present him the "Sports Paper" and
"Jean Armstrong"'s profile, before talking on a new subject. Head to the
"Detention Center" and finally to "Trs Bien".
Talk to Maya about all subjects, you'll get the "Lunch Special". Talk
about a new subject and, when it becomes possible, move to the "Kitchen".
Examine the brown table on the left, the huge white table seen in the
middle of the room (it contains the "Magatama") and the bottles placed
inside a casing, seen in the left side of the screen, to get the "Small
Bottle". Move to "Trs Bien" and then to "Vitamin Square".
Examine the pink scooter, which will be added to your Court Record. Talk
to the Old Man about all subjects and when the three Psyche-Locks appear,
move back to the "Trs Bien", "Detention Center" and then "Criminal
Affairs Dept.".
You'll get the "Sports Paper" back, and be sure to present him the "Small
Bottle". Talk about the new subject, which will grant you "Jean's Loan
Contract". Move to the "Detention Center", to "Trs Bien" and to "Vitamin
Square".
Present the "Magatama". Show him the "Lunch Special", "Job Listings",
"Sports Paper" and "Maggey Byrde"'s profile, in this order. Then, talk
about the last subject and head back to the "Trs Bien".
Show Maya the profile of "Victor Kudo" and, when you get the chance to do
so, talk about all four subjects, which grants you "Victor's Note". Move
back to "Trs Bien".
Present the "Magatama", followed by "Jean Armstrong"'s profile, "Victor's
Note", "Magatama" and "Jean's Loan Contract". Talk about the two new
subjects and this part of the game will end.

2.3.2~. Trial

After some long (and funny!) storyline sequences, you'll first face
Gumshoe's testimony:

"
When the incident took place, the victim was alone at his table, sir.

We understand that the guy, Glen Elg, was listening to the radio at the
time.

Traces of poison were found in his coffee cup.

And what we found was potassium cyanide. That stuff really packs a punch!

And, um... it looks like Ms. Byrde might've had, well... some kind of a
motive.
"

Press statements number one ("When the incident took place, the victim was
alone at his table, sir"), follow with "Press harder", before pressing
statement five ("And, um... it looks like Ms. Byrde might've had, well...
some kind of a motive") and "Press harder". Continue pressing, by doing it
to statement number three ("Traces of poison were found in his coffee
cup") and "Press harder". Continue playing, and later you'll face yet
another testimony by Gumshoe:

"
The crime was reported at 2:25 PM by a kind of scary old man, sir.

Poor Maggey had passed out from the shock. It must've been real tough for
her.

The victim didn't have any identification on him.

But we figured out who he was pretty quick, and then the investigation
went smoothly.

When Maggey was searched, we found the lottery ticket and the bottle of
poison.

And that was it. There was nothing missing from the crime scene.
"

Press the fourth statement ("But we figured out who he was pretty quick,
and then the investigation went smoothly") and "Ask about the prescription
bag". Next, select the last statement and present the newly-acquired
"Victim's Prescription Bag" to continue. Be sure to "Push the medication
issue", which will lead to a recess.
When everyone is back, Victor Kudo will testify:

"
The young man was reading the sports paper.

The serving girl brought him a javaccino... But she put something in it!

The man took one sip of it, looked like he was in terrible pain, and then
collapsed.

That's the serving girl, right there in the defendant's chair. I remember
her well!
"

Press statement two ("The serving girl brought him a javaccino... But she
put something in it!") and "Press harder". Doing so will add a new section
to his testimony:

"
The young man was reading the sports paper.

The serving girl brought him a javaccino... But she put something in it!

There's no question about it! She very conspicuously put some white powder
in there!

The man took one sip of it, looked like he was in terrible pain, and then
collapsed.

That's the serving girl, right there in the defendant's chair. I remember
her well!
"

Now, press the fifth statement ("That's the serving girl, right there in
the defendant's chair. I remember her well!") and "Press harder". This
will add yet another section to his testimony:

I remember
her well!

There was a ribbon in her hair, and her apron's straps were loose.
"

Once more, press the last statement and be sure to "Ask about the
waitress's back", which will add even more information to the testimony:

I remember
her well!

There was a ribbon in her hair, and her apron's straps were loose.

There wasn't anything that caught my interest about her when I saw her
from the front.
"

After selecting this last statement, present the "Apron" and Kudo will
later issue another testimony:

"
He was another of those pesky young types, wearing a broken pair of
spectacles.

He had a newspaper in his right hand, and the noisy brat kept rustling its
pages!

The young man was listening to the wireless. I remember that well.

Then the serving girl in question brought over the javaccino.

The little fidget picked up the cup with his free hand and took a sip.
"

When confronted with the last statement, present the "Coffee Cup", which
leads to yet another new testimony:

"
The boy was wearing the earpiece on the same side as the green lens of his
specs.

He kept fiddling with it all the time.

He was fiddling with it just before he picked up the cup, too.

And then he used the same hand to pick up the cup.
His left hand!
"

Here, select the very first statement and present "Glen Elg"'s profile,
which will later start yet another testimony:

"
First of all, I want to stress that this might be nothing. I'm not too
sure of myself.

The young boy slumped over the table as soon as he took one sip of his
javaccino...

Well, the clumsy idiot upset the vase! He knocked it right over.

It broke, and the strip of cloth covering the table got completely soaked!

Well!? How about that?
Turned things upside-down, hmm?
"

When confronted with statement number four ("It broke, and the strip of
cloth covering the table got completely soaked!"), present the "Crime
Photo". Doing so will end this part of the trial, and allow you to proceed
to this game's next sequence.

2.3.3~. Exploration

When possible, talk to Maya about all subjects and move, first to
"Detention Center" and next to "Trs Bien".
Talk about all subjects, present him the "Magatama" and follow by showing
the "Victim's Lottery Ticket". When possible, talk about the third subject
and present him "Glen Elg"'s profile. Move to "Blue Screens, Inc".
Examine the top of the desk and the cards in the floor, which will grant
you "Glen's Calendar" and "Losing Horse Racing Tickets". Talk about all
subjects and present "Glen Elg"'s profile, before talking about the new
subject, moving back to "Trs Bien" and heading to the "Kitchen".
Talk about all subjects and present "Jean's Loan Contract", before talking
about the second (and third) subjects. Move to "Trs Bien" (you get
"Gumshoe's Lunchbox"), "Vitamin Square" and then "Tender Lender".
Examine the white box in the floor (the one next to the table) and the
pink CD player placed on top of the desk, which will give you the "Trs
Bien Matches" and "MC Bomber". Move back to "Vitamin Square".
Talk about all subjects (when given a choice, "Suck it up"). Move to "Trs
Bien", "Kitchen", "Trs Bien" (yep, again!) and then "Detention Center".
Present "Gumshoe's Lunchbox". Next, present "Victor Kudo"'s profile and
talk about all three subjects. Move to "Criminal Affairs Dept".
Present "Mc Bomber" and then talk about all the subjects. Move to
"Detention Center", "Trs Bien", "Vitamin Square" and "Tender Lender".
Examine the hanging coats to get a "Paper Badge". When possible, talk
about two subjects, present "Furio Tiger"'s profile and talk about the two
new subjects. Move to "Vitamin Square", "Trs Bien", "Detention Center"
and, at last, to "Criminal Affairs Dept".
Present "Violetta"'s profile and talk about the first subject, which gives
you another "Gumshoe's Lunchbox". Move to "Detention Center", "Trs Bien"
and to "Blue Screens Inc".
Present the "Magatama", followed by the "Losing Horse Racing Tickets",
"Victim's Lottery Ticket", "Glen's Calendar", "Furio Tigre"'s profile and
"MC Bomber", in the stated order. Talk about the new subjects and move to
"Trs Bien", "Vitamin Square" and "Tender Lender".
Examine the golden piece (seen next to the corner of the room) to get the
"Repair Bill". Present the "Magatama", and follow with "Repair Bill",
"Bruto Cadaverini"'s profile, "Furio Tigre"'s profile, "Scooter" and
"Bruto Cadaverini"'s profile (once more). Talk about the last subject,
followed by the third one. Move to "Vitamin Square" and "Trs Bien".
After doing that, you'll see a slightly longer cutscene and this part of
the game will end.

2.3.4~. Trial, Part One

After a few story-related sequences, Jean Armstrong will be the first one
to testify:

"
When it all 'appened, z'ere were just two customers in my restaurant.

I remember I was experimenting w'iz some new art deco z'at day.

Like 'aving a large mirror between la tables, for example.

Oui! Per'aps z'at is what la old man was looking at.

La cup, la earpiece and la glasses, 'E would 'ave seen everything in
reverse, non?
"

Select the last statement and present "Glen Elg"'s profile. Doing so leads
to another testimony:

"
La mirror, it was in z'e middle of la restaurant, dividing z'e two 'alves.

Z'ere is only one seat from which you could 'ave seen an image of la
victim.

Z'at was la seat at z'e table next to la victim's. Z'at was where la old
man was sitting.

After la terrible incident occurred, I moved la mirror so it was not in
z'e way.

But naturally, I did not touch anything else!
"

Selecting the last statement, present "Crime Photo". Point the cursor at
the flower vase on the left side of the screen, and later support it with
"Victor's Testimony". When asked a certain question, claim that "The
victim was a phony". Now, you'll see another testimony by the same man:

"
La victim, Monsieur Elg, 'e came to my restaurant alone.

I remember la old man arrived not long after 'im.

Z'ere were no other customers.

When 'e got word 'e won la lottery, Mon. Elg became very excited.

It was approximately 5 minutes later z'at la poisoning incident occurred.

Non, z'ere was no time for a phony to do la acting.
"

Start by pressing the second statement ("I remember la old man arrived not
long after 'im") and ask "What time was it?". This leads to a slightly
modified testimony:

"
La victim, Monsieur Elg, 'e came to my restaurant alone.

I remember la old man arrived not long after 'im, just after 2 PM.

Z'ere were no other customers.

When 'e got word 'e won la lottery, Mon. Elg became very excited.

It was approximately 5 minutes later z'at la poisoning incident occurred.

Non, z'ere was no time for a phony to do la acting.
"

Select the new statement ("I remember la old man arrived not long after
'im, just after 2 PM.") and present "Millionaire Radio Flyer". Say that
the body was hidden "Inside Trs Bien", point the cursor at the kitchen
area and back it up with "Small Bottle". Doing all this will take you to
another testimony sequence:

"
It is true, I 'id la body in la kitchen.

A man forced me to do it. I 'ad no choice.

I 'ad to go along w'iz 'him because... Z'ere was a reason why I could not
refuse.

But I did not kill 'im! I swear it! You must believe me!
"

Select the second statement ("A man forced me to do it. I 'ad no choice.")
and present "Furio Tigre"'s profile. Be sure to present "Jean's Loan
Contract" next, as doing so will not only end this part of the game but
also take you to another section of this very same trial.

2.3.5~. Trial, Part Two

Before even going on to trial, give "Small Bottle" to Gumshoe. Some
phrases later, you'll face Furio Tigre, who will give you his first
testimony:

"
I don't know nothin' about no murder.

I was tied up with business in December last year. Spent all'a my time in
my office.

I got whales lined up to borrow cash from Tender Lender every single day.

Youse wanna check my alibi, just ask Violetta.
"

Press the second statement ("I was tied up with business in December last
year. Spent all'a my time in my office") and "Press harder", which will
add a new section to the testimony:

"
I don't know nothin' about no murder.

I was tied up with business in December last year. Spent all'a my time in
my office.

The day youse talkin' about, I was in de office, too. I never saw that kid
before.

I got whales lined up to borrow cash from Tender Lender every single day.

Youse wanna check my alibi, just ask Violetta.
"

Select the new statement ("The day youse talkin' about, I was in de
office, too. I never saw that kid before") and present "Glen's Calendar",
which brings you to another testimony:

"
I ain't no liar. I never met Glen Elg.

There was some lame guy with that name, though. Wanted to borrow cash from
me.

I set up meetin' with the guy... at my office, Tender Lender.

I waited around for him, but he ain't ever showed.

I ain't never even been to that Trs Bien joint, youse hear?
"

Select the last statement and present "Trs Bien Matches", an action that
takes you to yet another testimony:

"
I was supposed to meet wid the kid at the restaurant that afternoon.

When I opened the door to the joint, I saw one ugly scene.

The guy was laid out over the table, stiff as concrete.

I figured if the place wasn't hot already, it was gonna be, so I split.

I heard the cop's sirens on my way out, and I went straight back to my
office.
"

Now, select the second statement ("When I opened the door to the joint, I
saw one ugly scene") and present "Trs Bien Floor Plans". In order to
reveal the criminal's identity, present "Furio Tigre"'s profile, and use
"Viola Cadaverini"'s profile for the waitress' identity. Eventually, this
gets you to this case's last testimony:

"
Yeah, I loaned Elg cash. About 100,000 dollars.

That day, we was due to have a little chat. The kid had hit his payback
date, see?

So anyway, he tells me he's got no way to pay up.

I'm about to flatten the guy, when he starts screamin'.

"Yesss! I won! Half a million bucks!" He got lucky, you' know. Real lucky.

If that waitress hadn't done what she done, everythin' woulda been over.
"

Start by pressing the last statement, "If that waitress hadn't done what
she done, everythin' woulda been over", and be sure to "Ask about what
Maggey did". Doing so will slightly change the testimony:

Real lucky.

Thanks to what she did, my business with that kid was over!
"

Now, press the altered statement, "Thanks to what she did, my business
with that kid was over!", and ask to "Have it amended". Once more, the
testimony will be corrected:

Real lucky.

I was after the $100,000. I didn't have no other reason to kill the guy!
"

This time, select the last statement and present "MC Bomber". Follow with
"Viola's Medical Papers", "Paper Badge" to frame the accused.
Present the "Small Bottle" as the final, decisive piece of evidence, and
state that it contains "potassium cyanide". This will lead to a long
storyline sequence, where you should present "Gumshoe's Lunchbox" to Byrde
as a little present. Another case completed!

2.4~. Case Four - Turnabout Beginnings

This case is all about Phoenix checking an old Mia case, her first one,
exactly like we've previously played (well, you PROBABLY played it, but I
can't be sure...) Phoenix Wright's first one. It starts in a slightly
mysterious way, but as you advance further in the case things will start
to get clearer.

2.4.1~. Trial, Part One

After passing across Lots and lots of unusual conversation, you'll face
this case's first testimony, the one of Detective Gumshoe:

"
On the day of the incident, an unknown person phoned the sergeant and
asked to meet.

Sergeant Hawthorne went to Dusky Bridge at the designated time and met
with Mr. Fawles.

And that's where she was murdered, sir.

The criminal stuffed her body into his trunk and tried to make a getaway.

Mr. Fawles was arrested at a police checkpoint we set up at the base of
the mountain.
"

Press the first and fourth statements ("The criminal stuffed her body into
his trunk and tried to make a getaway"), which will change the current
testimony to:

Here's a photo of the trunk. But I don't see anything strange, do you?
Anyway...

Mr. Fawles was arrested at a police checkpoint we set up at the base of
the mountain.
"

Now, select the fifth statement ("Here's a photo of the trunk. But I don't
see anything strange, do you? Anyway...") and present "Victim's Note", to
head for the next testimony sequence:

"
Actually, there's an eyewitness who was there when the incident took
place.

This photo was accidentally taken by the witness. It shows her wearing the
scarf, sir.

It was drizzling that day; unfortunately, it's a little hard to see what's
going on.

Anyway, the criminal shoved the victim down from behind and stabbed her in
the back!

...That must have been when the scarf fell off.
"

Select the fourth statement ("Anyway, the criminal shoved the victim down
from behind and stabbed her in the back") and present "Crime Photo",
later pointing at the character's coat. Present the "Scarf" as evidence to
prove that the bridge was muddy, and follow by claiming the "witness's
testimony" is false.
Next, another character will testify:

"
I... I was using my camera to take some pictures of wild flowers.

Then, I noticed there were two people standing up on the suspension
bridge.

Suddenly, they just started fighting!

That's when I hurried and took the photo that shows the crucial moment.

And right after that, I called the police.
"

Point at the fourth statement ("That's when I hurried and took the photo
that shows the crucial moment") and present "Witness's Photo", which
slightly changes the previous testimony:

"
I... I was using my camera to take some pictures of wild flowers.

Then, I noticed there were two people standing up on the suspension
bridge.

Suddenly, they just started fighting!

The victim turned around and tried to run away, but...

She only got about 10 yards before she was stabbed in the back.
"

Here, you should aim at the last statement and present the "Dusky Bridge
Map", an action that unveils another testimony:

"
After he stabbed her in the back, he quickly picked her up in his arms.

Then he carried her over to the car.

I suppose that was the only way he could make sure the body stayed hidden.

He couldn't just leave the body on top of the bridge.

Oh, I'm sorry... I'm only supposed to talk about what I saw.
"

Select the third statement ("I suppose that was the only way he could make
sure the body stayed hidden") and present the "Dusky Bridge Map", which
slightly changes the last testimony:

"
After he stabbed her in the back, he quickly picked her up in his arms.

Then he carried her over to the car.

The killer broke into the trunk of the stolen car and hid the body in
there.

He couldn't just leave the body on top of the bridge.

Oh, I'm sorry... I'm only supposed to talk about what I saw.
"

Select the new third statement ("The killer broke into the trunk of the
stolen car and hid the body in there") and present the "Dusky Bridge Map",
as before. About the contradiction, say that "It doesn't work" and that
"she put the corpse in herself". Present the "Camera", continue by moving
the cursor to the place with the blue circle with a V and, finally,
present the "Scarf".
After doing these tasks, this first part of the trial will end.

2.4.2~. Trial, Part Two

You start by facing a very long storyline sequence, which explains all the
outlines of the basic case, before heading into the rest of the case
you're facing right now. As before, Melissa will testify:

"
I... I was out of the country until the year before last.

Until I entered college, I had never been to Eagle Mountain before...

And I certainly don't have any reason for wanting to hurt a police
officer.

Holding a grudge and killing the officer who testified against you 5 years
ago...

Or kidnapping a poor girl... I just think the defendant is a terrible,
horrible monster!
"

Press the very first statement, and "Press her harder". Doing so will
slightly change the testimony:

"
I... I was out of the country until the year before last.

Naturally, I didn't know either the victim or the defendant.

"

Now, press the fifth statement ("Holding a grudge and killing the officer
who testified against you 5 years ago..."), "Press harder" and follow by
asking to "Have it added to the testimony", which will change the overall
text to:

"
I... I was out of the country until the year before last.

Naturally, I didn't know either the victim or the defendant.

Until I entered college, I had never been to Eagle Mountain before...

And I certainly don't have any reason for wanting to hurt a police
officer.

Holding a grudge and killing the officer who testified against you 5 years
ago...

I guess I'm lucky I wasn't wearing a white scarf.

Or kidnapping a poor girl... I just think the defendant is a terrible,
horrible monster!
"

Now, select the sixth statement ("I guess I'm lucky I wasn't wearing a
white scarf") and present the "Scarf". When asked for a reason, present
the "Victim's Note". For the third person who knew about the scarf,
present "Dahlia Hawthorne"'s profile, and later on the "Victim's Note",
which takes you to another new testimony:

"
Five years ago, I was kidnapped by Mr. Fawles.

The ransom price was a raw diamond. My sister, Valerie, brought it to the
bridge...

After she made the exchange, she shot Mr. Fawles in the arm!

That's when Mr. Fawles tried to kill me by shoving me off the bridge from
behind!

I survived, but I was afraid I might be kidnapped again for my family's
money...

So I decided to change my identity and start a new life...
"

Select the fourth statement ("That's when Mr. Fawles tried to kill me by
shoving me off the bridge from behind!") and present the "Dusky Bridge
Map". Follow with the "Witness's Photo", then the "Diamond" and, at last,
the "Terry Fawles"' profile, who should be used to make him testify for
the crimes. Then, this new witness will testify:

"
That day... 4 PM...
I stopped the car.
I was in front of bridge...

She wasn't there...
So, I waited on bridge.

I watched my car from bridge. I never put no body in that car!

Finally, one woman came. She stood in front of me.

We talked...
Then she left.

That was... That was Valerie. Not my Dahlia!
"

Select the fourth statement ("Finally, one woman came. She stood in front
of me") and present the "Witness's Photo". This will cause the storyline
to advance and, eventually, end this case...

2.5~. Case Five - Bridge to the Turnabout

Despite starting with a strange psychological sequence, this case ties the
knots given by the previous four cases, and that makes it slightly
unpredictable. Phoenix will confront an "old friend", but there are many
other surprises awaiting you...

2.5.1~. Exploration, Part One

After a long storyline sequence, talk about all available subjects and
move to the "Main Hall".
Talk about all subjects, which gives you the "Hazakura Temple Map". Next,
move to "Main Gate", "Suspension Bridge", "Inner Temple Gate" and
"Training Hall".
Examine the scroll hanging on the right side of this room, which gives you
the "Hanging Scroll", and then move back to the "Inner Temple Gate" and
"Suspension Bridge".
Present "Iris"' profile, and then talk about all subjects, which grants
you a "Photo of Elise".
After quite a few storyline sequences, talk about the two subjects
available and you'll get "Iris's Hood". However, after a long sequence
this part of the game will end.

2.5.2~. Exploration, Part Two

After a few storyline sequences, you will be playing as a certain new
character. Talk about all the four subjects available and move to the
"Suspension Bridge".
Talk about all the subjects available, which gets you "Weather Data", and
then move to "Main Gate".
Talk about the two subjects and move to the "Main Hall".
Examine the cushions in the left corner of the room to get the "Note to
Iris". Then, talk about all the subjects and move to the "Courtyard".
Start by examining the golden statue (you get the "Shichishito") and the
staff seen in the middle of the snow, in the left side of the screen,
which gives you the "Victim's Staff". Follow by talking about all four
subjects, which gives you "Elise's Autopsy Report", and moving to "Main
Hall", "Main Gate" (examine the snowmobile, seen in the right!),
"Suspension Bridge" and "Detention Center".
Present the "Magatama", and proceed with "Note to Iris" and "Phoenix
Wright"'s profile. Talk about the two last subjects, which gives you
"Iris's Testimony". Move to "Suspension Bridge" and "Heavenly Hall".
Talk about all subjects, present the "Magatama" and then "Hazakura Temple
Map", point the cursor at "Heavenly Hall", present "Iris"' profile and
"Note to Iris", before talking about the two new subjects. Doing so will,
once more, end this part of the game.

2.5.3~. Trial, Part One

After a short introduction scene and a few interesting events, the first
character will testify:

"
That night I was helping an acolyte with her training in the Inner Temple.
But...

Well, as you can see, my back likes to act up. Violently.

So, I left Iris to help the acolyte and returned to Hazakura Temple.

There's no bath at the Inner Temple, you see, and I needed a long, hot
soak.

After I had finished, and just as I was heading back... that's when I saw
it!
"

Select the third statement ("So, I left Iris to help the acolyte and
returned to Hazakura Temple") and present "Iris's Testimony". The
testimony will be slightly changed:

"
That night I was helping an acolyte with her training in the Inner Temple.
But...

Well, as you can see, my back likes to act up. Violently.

Iris came to the Inner Temple. She was dressed exactly as she had been at
dinner.

There's no bath at the Inner Temple, you see, and I needed a long, hot
soak.

After I had finished, and just as I was heading back... that's when I saw
it!
"

Select, once again, the third statement and present "Iris's Hood". Another
testimony will take place:

"
I finished my bath around 11, and I thought I should return to the Inner
Temple.

And as I was walking back... I heard a noise from the courtyard. I took a
look and...

Iris was...! Oh, Mystic Elise! And with that sword, of all things!

Mystic Elise was staying in the corner room, which faces out onto the
courtyard.

The stabbing I saw must have occurred after she was pushed out of her
window.
"

Press the third statement ("Iris was...! Oh, Mystic Elise! And with that
sword, of all things!") and say that "It's important", which will add a
new statement to the testimony:

"
I finished my bath around 11, and I thought I should return to the Inner
Temple.

And as I was walking back... I heard a noise from the courtyard. I took a
look and...

Iris was...! Oh, Mystic Elise! And with that sword, of all things!

Now that you mention it... Iris didn't have her hood on.

Mystic Elise was staying in the corner room, which faces out onto the
courtyard.

The stabbing I saw must have occurred after she was pushed out of her
window.
"

Select the sixth, and last, statement, and present "Elise's Autopsy
Report", which takes you to another testimony:

"
When I looked across at the scene, the sword was already in place.

Thinking about it now, I didn't actually see her stab Mystic Elise.

I've never seen so much blood before...

That's when I fainted. You can't blame me, can you?

And when I awoke... Mystic Ami was... stabbing Mystic Elise through the
back!
"

Press the third statement ("I've never seen so much blood before...") and
"Press further", when possible, to add a new statement to the latest
testimony:

"
When I looked across at the scene, the sword was already in place.

Thinking about it now, I didn't actually see her stab Mystic Elise.

I saw the instant in which the blade, plunged in to the hilt, was smoothly
drawn out.

I've never seen so much blood before...

That's when I fainted. You can't blame me, can you?

And when I awoke... Mystic Ami was... stabbing Mystic Elise through the
back!
"

Select the new statement ("I saw the instant in which the blade, plunged
in to the hilt, was smoothly drawn out.") and present the "Shichishito",
leading to yet another testimony:

"
I saw the murder at around 11 PM...

And after asking that it be reported, I went out to the Main Gate.

And there... I saw tracks! Tracks that indicated the snowmobile had been
used!

It takes 15 minutes to walk to Dusky Bridge, but less than 5 using one of
those!

Maybe they threw the weapon into Eagle River and came back while I was
knocked out?

...Iris could have done that. She can drive a snowmobile after all...
"

Select the fifth statement ("Maybe they threw the weapon into Eagle River
and came back while I was knocked out?") and present the "Tracks Photo",
later stating that "There is a contradiction", which you can prove by
presenting the "Weather Data". When asked for more evidence present the
"Crime Photo", later followed by "Larry Butz"'s profile, which will end
this part of the game.

2.5.4~. Trial, Part Two

Some story sequences, and eventually Larry will be up in the stand, giving
his first testimony:

"
I was at that lodge out in the mountains, looking up at the stars that
night.

I walked to the bridge a number of times, but...

I didn't see a s-snowmobile!

I didn't meet anyone at the bridge that night!
"

Select the last statement and present "Phoenix Wright"'s profile to
continue. Obviously, you'll be taken to yet another testimony:

"
I went to the shack at around 9, so it would have been about 10:30 PM...

I was lying under by bedding when a white flash almost blinded me!

I looked out the window...and Dusky Bridge was on fire!

There was still some thunder, but I went right away to check it out.

That's when I ran into Nick.
"

Press the fourth statement ("There was still some thunder, but I went
right away to check it out"), and be sure to ask about "Why didn't you
call anyone?", which will slightly change the testimony:

"
I went to the shack at around 9, so it would have been about 10:30 PM...

I was lying under by bedding when a white flash almost blinded me!

I looked out the window...and Dusky Bridge was on fire!

There was still some thunder, but I went right away to check it out.

I arrived at the bridge, and Nick showed up less than a minute later.
"

Select this last statement and present "Weather Data", an action that
takes you to another testimony:

"
I'm a Deauxnim. I'm an artist! What do you think I was doing?

Sketching! In front of the bridge! I was whipped up into a frenzy of art!

The shock and awe that I was feeling... I transferred it all directly onto
the page!

...Before I realized it, the flames had gone out and then he came running
up.
"

Press the second statement ("Sketching! In front of the bridge! I was
whipped up into a frenzy of art!") and "Look at the sketch", which adds a
new statement to the testimony:

"
I'm a Deauxnim. I'm an artist! What do you think I was doing?

Sketching! In front of the bridge! I was whipped up into a frenzy of art!

I saw Iris flying! Her white hood fluttering!

The shock and awe that I was feeling... I transferred it all directly onto
the page!

...Before I realized it, the flames had gone out and then he came running
up.
"

Select the new third statement ("I saw Iris flying! Her white hood
fluttering!") and present "Iris's Hood". Then, you'll be facing yet
another testimony:

"
When I reached Dusky Bridge she was already gone...

I was so worried!
So I frantically searched all over for her!

That led to me finding a beautiful crystal sphere, half buried in the
snow!

I'm sure that Iris was simply wearing a spare hood.

After all, no one else could have lost a crystal sphere that night.
"

Select the very last statement and present the "Photo of Elise". Proceed
by stating that "Yes, I can", when it comes to the crystal sphere, and
later present the "Crystal Sphere" itself as evidence. When asked about
the method, present the "Tracks Photo", which will also end this part of
the case.

2.5.5~. Exploration, Part One

After the cutscene with Phoenix and all that, move to "Main Gate".
Talk about all three subjects and then move to the "Main Hall".
Talk about all the four subjects that appear, before moving to the
"Courtyard".
Examine the golden statue (seen in the middle of the screen) and the
staff (seen on the left side), just like before. Move back to the "Main
Hall", "Main Gate", "Suspension Bridge" and "Inner Temple Gate".
Examine the golden incinerator, seen on the right side of the left part of
the screen, and examine the big wooden gate seen on the right part of the
screen, before moving on to the "Training Hall".
Examine the scroll from the right, and the lock placed in front of the
door. Talk about all four subjects, then move to the "Inner Temple Gate"
and to the "Garden".
Examine the small red spot on the left side of the screen (you get the
"Kurain Master's Talisman") and the red markings on the chimney. Talk
about all four subjects and move to the "Inner Temple Gate", "Suspension
Bridge", "Main Gate" and, after the scene, head to the "Main Hall".
Present the "Magatama" and follow with "Kurain Master's Talisman" and
"Hanging Scroll". Talk about the third subject, and then move to the "Main
Gate", which, after quite a few scenes, ends this part of the game.

2.5.6~. Exploration, Part Two

After the scenes, talk about all three subjects and move to the "Garden".
Talk about all the subjects and move to the "Inner Temple Gate",
"Suspension Bridge" and "Heavenly Hall".
Talk about all the three subjects, move to the "Suspension Bridge", "Main
Gate" and "Main Hall".
Once more, talk about all the subjects available, before moving to the
"Courtyard".
Talk about all the four subjects available, which first gets you the
"Burnt Letter", and be sure to "Play forensics expert". Point the cursor
at the wooden staff and talk about the new subject, which updates your
Court Record. Move to the "Main Hall", "Main Gate", "Suspension Bridge",
"Inner Temple Gate" and "Garden".
Present "??????"'s profile, before talking about the new subjects. Move to
the "Training Hall".
Present the "Magatama", which should be followed by "Bikini"'s profile and
"Iris's Hood". Say that "There were two of you" and complete it by showing
"Dahlia Hawthorne"'s profile. Talk about the new subjects that appear and,
when possible, and move to "Inner Temple Gate", "Suspension Bridge" and
"Heavenly Hall".
Present the "Magatama". Point the cursor at "Inner Temple", present "Maya
Fey"'s profile, followed by the "Burnt Letter", "Dahlia Hawthorne"'s
profile, "Morgan Fey"'s profile and, at last, the "Hanging Scroll". Talk
about the new subjects available and this part of the game will also be
completed.

2.5.7~. Trial, Part One

Keep on reading all the information available here and, sooner or later,
your first testimony will appear:

"
I went to the Inner Temple that night and I saw it all happen in the
garden.

I saw Mystic Elise strike Mystic Maya with her staff!

Then, while Mystic Maya was stumbling, Mystic Elise moved in to deliver a
fatal strike!

Mystic Maya tried desperately to defend herself and stole the weapon...!

It was only in self-defense! You can't blame her for it!
"

Press the third statement ("Then, while Mystic Maya was stumbling, Mystic
Elise moved in to deliver a fatal strike!") and say that "There is one
thing...", which slightly chances the previous testimony:

"
I went to the Inner Temple that night and I saw it all happen in the
garden.

I saw Mystic Elise strike Mystic Maya with her staff!

Then, while Mystic Maya was stumbling, Mystic Elise moved in to deliver a
fatal strike!

She threw her staff away and pulled a dagger from inside her robe!

Mystic Maya tried desperately to defend herself and stole the weapon...!

It was only in self-defense! You can't blame her for it!
"

Select the new statement ("She threw her staff away and pulled a dagger
from inside her robe!") and present the "Victim's Staff". Support it by
showing "Elise Deauxnim"'s profile, which leads to another testimony:

"
Mystic Maya stumbled briefly after being hit over the head with the
staff...

But then she dodged Mystic Elise's next attack and stole her weapon!

Suddenly Mystic Elise was the one on the defense with her back to the
stone lantern.

That's when Mystic Maya stabbed Mystic Elise!

Mystic Elise managed to fling the knife away, but then...
Then... she collapsed.
"

Here, select the fourth statement ("That's when Mystic Maya stabbed Mystic
Elise!") and present "Elise's Autopsy Report". After some more details on
this case develop, another testimony will take place:

"
After Mystic Elise died...
I called out to Mystic Maya.

I thought it was my duty to protect the future Master of Kurain Tradition.

So I removed the body from the Inner Temple by myself...

I dragged it behind me all the way across Dusky Bridge.

Then I used the snowmobile to carry it back to Hazakura Temple and...

...I used the Shichishito to alter the way the wound looked.
"

Press the fifth statement ("Then I used the snowmobile to carry it back to
Hazakura Temple and...") and ask "About the tracks", stating that "It's
very important", which adds more details:

By the time the murder took place, the snow had already stopped.
"

Select the fourth statement ("I dragged it behind me all the way across
Dusky Bridge") and present the "Weather Data", which will take you to yet
another testimony:

"
Other than walking over the bridge, there's no way to move the body.

So I... must have just... gotten confused, I guess.

Was the snow still falling or had it stopped...? Does it really matter
that much?

Or are you saying that there is a way to cross a burning bridge?
"

Start by selecting the very first statement and presenting "Larry's
Sketch". State that the sketch is "a complete contradiction", pointing at
one of the diagonal wires, the ones that are connected to the bridge,
supporting your claim with "Dusky Bridge Photo", which you should present
twice, as it also works as evidence to the pendulum issue. The "Crystal
Sphere" can be used as the evidence that supports that the body was swung
over. Point to "Iris"' profile, as being the body receiver, and about her
real name point to "Dahlia Hawthorne"'s profile. Claim that "There was
one..." change for switching places, and present "Miles Edgeworth" profile
to support it. Doing so will lead to a longer storyline sequence and,
eventually, end this this part of the game.

2.5.8~. Trial, Part Two

As quickly as possible, you'll face another testimony:

"
...The whole plan began with my death.

A stupid plan hatched by Morgan Fey to install her own daughter as the
next Master.

But for it to work... Maya Fey would first have to die.

The idea was for me to kill Maya and then have the blame pinned on Iris.

The plan went wrong... but it seems to have succeeded anyway.
"

Press ALL statements and a new statement will be added:

"
...The whole plan began with my death.

Do you understand why I would kill Maya Fey now? What my goal was?
"

Select the last statement ("Do you understand why I would kill Maya Fey
now? What my goal was?") and present "Mia Fey"'s profile. A long sequence
will follow, and when asked about evidence to refute it, you should
present the "Hazakura Temple Map". Say that Maya is "in this very
courtroom" and later point to "Maya Fey"'s profile.
These actions will lead to a long storyline sequence, which will
eventually allow you to save the game and, as you may suppose, end this
part of the game.

2.5.9~. Trial, Part Three

Now, Maya will testify:

"
I was going to a spare prep room when it happened as I was passing through
the garden.

Suddenly, someone struck me over the head...

I stumbled... and ended up against the stone lantern.

I think I screamed, "Help me!"

Then, something warm splashed over me...

That's when... I lost consciousness.
"

Press the fourth statement and press her about "My last hope", which will
add a new statement:

"
I was going to a spare prep room when it happened as I was passing through
the garden.

Suddenly, someone struck me over the head...

I stumbled... and ended up against the stone lantern.

I think I screamed, "Help me!"

I could see a man behind my attacker by the light of the stone lantern.

Then, something warm splashed over me...

That's when... I lost consciousness.
"

Select the new fifth statement ("I could see a man behind my attacker by
the light of the stone lantern") and present the "Stone Lantern". When
asked about the person, point to "Godot"'s profile, and a new testimony
will appear:

"
...When I came to, I was just lying there on the Training Hall floor.

By the time I got back to the garden, the place had totally changed...

The torches were lit... And the body was gone.

And all the snow around the stone lantern had been carefully cleaned up,
too.

Since the person did all that work alone, I just assumed it was a man...
"

Press all statements once, before pressing the second statement ("By the
time I got back to the garden, the place had totally changed...") once
again. Doing so will add a new statement to the testimony:

"
...When I came to, I was just lying there on the Training Hall floor.

By the time I got back to the garden, the place had totally changed...

I think it was for my sake that they cleaned up any and all the evidence
of what happened.

The torches were lit... And the body was gone.

And all the snow around the stone lantern had been carefully cleaned up,
too.

Since the person did all that work alone, I just assumed it was a man...
"

Select the third statement ("I think it was for my sake that they cleaned
up any and all the evidence of what happened") and present the "Stone
Lantern". State that "The killer didn't noticed it" and present, once
more, "Godot"'s profile, which takes you to another testimony:

"
Pearly was also stuck on the Inner Temple side that night!

The next morning, she looked around, but couldn't find anyone.

On the day after, when the bridge was finally fixed, she was in the spare
prep room.

That's when Mr. Godot arrived at the Inner Temple for the first time!

He found Pearly first and cheered her right up!
"

Press the last statement and ask about "Godot's Investigation". Then,
select the fourth statement ("That's when Mr. Godot arrived at the Inner
Temple for the first time!") and present the "Hanging Scroll". Follow by
presenting the "Burnt Letter" and "Mia Fey"'s profile, which leads to a
big storyline sequence and Maya's final testimony:

"
...Just before it happened, I think I saw some red lights.

I thought I'd ask for help, but... just then I was splattered with blood!

She wasn't dead though... And struck back at the enemy behind her.

Suddenly, the red lights went out and the whole area was dark.

...Just at that moment, there was a horrible scream!

Right after that...
Dahlia collapsed and I lost consciousness.
"

Press the fifth statement ("...Just at that moment, there was a horrible
scream!") and state that "There's a contradiction", presenting the
"Dagger". When asked about the hiding place for the wound, present
"Godot"'s profile, as odd as that may sound.
Finally, when asked about Maya, present "Pearl Fey"'s profile. Doing such
an action will, eventually, end this case and allow you to complete the
entire game. I hope you enjoyed it!

FAQ. Frequently Asked Questions

Some of the questions you, readers, may have.

Q: [Insert something here], where should I go next?

A: Just read the walktrough, OK? I'm sure you will find your answer if you
   do that.

Q: Why do you call the scenes from outside court "Exploration"?

A: Well, I like that name. Most people tend to call them "investigation"
sequences, but since they require you to explore everything, and
gather evidence, I think my name is more fitting.

Q: Why didn't you included the location of all evidence?

A: Most of those are acquired as part of conversations or just as
storyline elements, making it impossible for you to miss (or have an
   hard time finding) them.

Q: Is this game different from the GBA version of "Gyakuten Saiban 3"?

A: Apart from minor interface changes, both games are exactly the same.

Q: Does the Japanese version of the game come with an "English" option?

A: Yes, it does, meaning that you can play it in English even if you buy
the Japanese version of the game.

That's all for now...
