Guide Type - Guide Game Title - Looney Tunes Duck Amuck Platform - Nintendo DS Date submitted - 10-28-07 Version - 1.4 By - obishawn I am now only missing one Gag, Color-Coded Daffy. This is the one that requires you to draw the traceable objects and I have four more objects to go. These things appear at random in Idle Mode, so there is no telling just how long it is going to take to get that Gag unlocked, but know that I am working on it. The Character Coin section is complete though, as is the rest of the guide, but for that one Gag. I also want to confirm a few things and will need to reset my game data to do so, so it may be a bit before I get to those things, but they are not super important. Any additional information or corrections are welcome. you will receive full credit for any contribution you make. See the contact information at the bottom of the guide to reach me. __________________________________________________________ Table of Contents __________________________________________________________ To easily and quickly find anything in this guide, simply perform a search and enter the subject as you see it listed in the Contents, even if it is just the Roman numerals. At the end of the short, the animator is revealed to be none other than the mischievous Bugs Bunny, that waskally wabbit! The premise of the game is to act as the animator and just like in the classic short, give Daffy hell! Through a series of mini-games, all in Looney Tune fashion, you compete with Daffy or at times, just interfere with his plans. If you are successful, he becomes angry. Your goal is to throw him into a complete fit of fury. After each minigame (Gag) a thermometer (Rage-o-meter) will appear to gauge just how pissed Daffy became after you defeated him. Fill the gauge up to make Daffy go into a rage. To get to that point though you first have to play through one of the Gags. To begin a Gag, you must jack with Daffy while he is in Idle Mode. Idle mode - When the back ground is completely white and Daffy is just standing there, you are in Idle Mode. Use your stylus to touch Daffy or the background. If you wait a few seconds, other things will randomly appear in the background. You can interact with these things to find new Gags! __________________________________________________________ II - CONTROLS __________________________________________________________ The controls are all done on the touch screen. The buttons are used in this game, but only as part of the Gags, and that is only occasionally. See each Gag's rules for specifics on what to do with the stylus or buttons. A - The Menu To access the game's menu, pick Daffy up and toss him off the left side of the screen. To do this, place your stylus on Daffy and without lifting it from the touch screen, make a sweeping motion to the left side of the screen to throw Daffy and make the menu appear. The Menu is divided between four screens, use the icons at the bottom of the touch screen to switch between the menu screen options. 1 - Gags - (Mini-games) The default menu screen is the Gags screen. Here all of the Gags are listed. If a lock appears over the selection, you must find out how to access that Gag while Daffy is in Idle Mode, or just use this guide to find out how to unlock it. As you play the minigames, you may see a yellow or grey star or an image of Daffy's head on the far right of a Gag selection. Grey Star - You have played through and completed the Gag, as opposed to beginning a Gag but not winning against Daffy. Yellow Star - You have played through and complete the Gag on the advanced difficulty. Daffy's Head - You have played through and completed both easy and advanced difficulties. See the Gags section of this guide for more information about the Gags selection screen. 2 - Star - (Bonuses) There are four bonuses to chose from, but two of them must be unlocked! - The Looney Tunes Character Painter - As a kid, did you enjoy coloring books? Here you can color the different characters using the color tabs at the top of the screen. The R and L shoulder buttons allow you to scroll to the different characters you've unlocked. Also, just to the sides of the paint taps are arrows which allow you to choose 9 other pages of color tabs. - Looney Tunes Soundboard - Choosing this options allows you to listen to most of the sound bites used by Daffy in this game, but wait! There's more! If you choose "Construct!" you can make Daffy say complete sentences by combining sound bites from three smaller soundboards. And if you choose "Create!" then you can have Daffy repeat whatever you say into the microphone! - Reel 1 - Reel 1 is a 3D animation of Daffy in the recording studio doing a bit of voice work for the game. I do not yet know how I unlocked it, but I will find out and detail that information here. - Reel 2 - Reel 2 is a "Making of" of the Gag "Use Your Noodle Soup," with a voice over narrating. And as with Reel 1, this got unlocked without me realizing how, but I will find out and when I do, I will detail that information here. CPFace, a GameFAQs board member posted this concerning the two bonus reels - "And there's two "bonus reels" that you can unlock by fiddling with the "Recording Gag", found on the menu." I haven't yet confirmed if this is true, but I will. I mostly wanted to make sure CPFace got the credit he deserves if it turns out to be true. 3 - Wrench - (Options) On this screen, you have two options; you can either view the game's credits or you can reset all game save data. Be careful, choosing to reset all the game's data will do just that, everything you have unlocked you will lose. 4 - Coin - (Character Coins) This page displays all of your character coins. You should already have Daffy's coin by default. See the Character Coin section for more information. B - Multiplayer From the Idle Mode screen, pick Daffy up and toss him off the right side of the screen to access the multiplayer menu. __________________________________________________________ III - GAGS __________________________________________________________ The order of Gags listed here is the same as they appear on the menu screen. The only difference is that in the game they are not numbered. I did that in this guide so that you might have an easier time locating a particular Gag. Also, you cannot see the names of the Gags in the game until you've unlocked them. If you want to play a Gag at a harder difficulty, choose the Gag from the menu in stead of the "Unlock by" method. Tips are the in-game hints at how to unlock the Gag. Touch the lower case "i" which is in a circle with a blue background to see the tip. All tips are listed here word for word. "Unlock by" is not an in-game feature. As suggested, this is where I explain the details in unlocking that specific Gag. The Rules of a Gag can be seen once you begin the minigame by pressing the start button. They basically tell you how to play each minigame respectively. Extra info is in fact, extra information concerning the Gag it is listed for. This always gives additional info for playing the game; maybe something that the rules didn't make exactly clear, things you should be aware of, or things to make the game easier, hell, it's extra info! If no extra info is given, then I felt like it simply didn't need it. If I begin to see questions (via email or on the message boards) I will then go back and add what I can. The Character Coin listing first of all tells you if that Gag has a hidden Character Coin and if so, exactly how to unlock it. __________________________________________________________ 1 - Body Erase - TIP - Try tapping the strips of "duck" tape. UNLOCK BY - When in Idle mode, use the stylus to rip the background near Daffy's right shoulder. When he repairs the background with duct tape, touch the tape. Quickly trace the item to make it appear in its full form, it will then drop on Daffy's head. You will know an item is about to appear when you see Daffy shrink in size. Tap it to unlock Yosemite Sam. __________________________________________________________ 6 - Diamond Mine, Mine TIP - Pick Daffy's best idea by tapping a lightbulb. Unlock by - Allow Daffy to remain in idle mode until light bulbs begin to appear over his head. Touch the middle bulb to begin the Gag. If there are rocks blocking the path, set the gem down and tap the rocks to break them and open the path. Be quick because Daffy is coming! CHARACTER COIN - After you clear the game, Daffy is in front of a TV playing. He tosses the control down in anger at having lost. Touch the sparkle that appears on the TV to unlock Elmer Fudd. __________________________________________________________ 7 - Dimswitch Daffy TIP - Use the brightness slider to leave Daffy in the dark. UNLOCK BY - When in Idle Mode, when 7 lightbulbs appear side by side above Daffy's head, move the slide bar all the way to the right to make all of the lights come on. RULES - Blow to extinguish Daffy's candle before he can reach the oil lamp. Don't blow when he has TNT! Blow slightly to slow him down. EXTRA INFO - Using your stylus, touch the match and swipe it across the matchbox. The movement must be fast. Once the candle is lit, move the match on to Daffy. Once you strike the match, the game begins. Daffy will run up the stairs with either a candle or with TNT. If he makes it to the top, he will light the lamp. Your goal is to stop him. When he is running with a candle, blow hard into the microphone to extinguish the candle. When he is running with TNT, blow very lightly to slow him down. Watch for falling drops of water. Time your blowing to make Daffy dodge the drop so that he can make it to the top with the TNT. CHARACTER COIN - As the lights go out, watch by the eyes to see the sparkle, touch it to unlock the Road Runner. __________________________________________________________ 8 - Dodge and Splat Daffy Tip - Unlock this game by finding all of the Character Coins. Evertime you hit Daffy with fruit, one of the lights goes off. Your goal is to make all of the lights go off before the timer runs out. Meanwhile, Daffy is attempting to dodge your shots! After firing at Daffy, pull back on the slingshot to ready your next piece of fruit. Try to hit him before he recovers from your last shot. In the harder stages aim for where you think he is going to be, not where he is. __________________________________________________________ 9 - Cross Country Kapooow! CHARACTER COIN - After you win, Daffy will jump out of a tire, when he does, the sparkle appears on the tire, tap it to unlock Sylvester. __________________________________________________________ 11 - Duck Dodgers TIP - Try dropping globs of paint onto Daffy's head. Complete the circuit by defining a path for the electricity. Throw the switch to transport Daffy before he can zap Marvin! EXTRA INFO - Touch the green arrows so that the electricity can flow from the bottom left corner to the lever in the upper right corner. Once the energy reaches the lever, tap and drag it down to transport Daffy. If one of Marvin's aliens obstruct the flow of electricity, tap it to remove it. Also, keep in mind that you are not required to use all of the arrows. Tapping the red exclamation mark will spin all of the arrows. Character Coin - After you win, a yellow robot will float to the left of the screen, when it reaches the middle, it will pause long enough to dump out a zapped Daffy. During the dump, touch the sparkle to unlock Marvin the Martian. __________________________________________________________ 12 - Exploding Piano TIP - Try using globs of paint to effect the background. EXTRA INFO - Timing is the key to winning this game. Don't break the stick until the opportune moment. Also, the bamboo sticks cannot hold the weight that the wooden stick can, so wait until the right moment to break the wooden stick. You will want to move the sticks around so that Daffy will be near the last one that breaks. To move a bamboo stick, move the wooden stick right next to it so that none of the black appears between the sticks, this will allow you to move the bamboo stick over a short way. Put the bamboo next to Daffy before you break the wooden stick. It takes three taps to break a wooden stick. Once you move a stick into position, tap it twice. This will allow you to have the sticks ready when the time is right. When moving a wooden stick, do not immediately touch it, you risk the chance of the game registering the touch as a tap to break it. If you want to move a wooden stick, touch the screen to the side of the stick and begin moving it in the direction you want to go. UNLOCK BY - When Daffy tells you to open the DS, if he is standing in front of a large mirror, watch on the mirror for the sparkle. 20 - Witch Hazel - Gag 2 - Chat Spat In addition to Warner Brothers, Disney, MGM, Famous Studios, and the Little Lulu comic books also had cartoon witch characters named "Witch Hazel." After the top-screen Daffy drops to the bottom screen, watch for the sparkle. 25 - Tasmanian Devil - Random Idle Mode Animation Although "Taz" originally only appeared in five animated cartoons, his popularity continued to grow in the '70's and '80's and eventually he got his own episodic TV show, "Tazmania." This is rarely accomplished by anyone on their own but in stead by those willing enough to speak up and offer suggestions, corrections, additional information, spelling corrections, constructive criticism, insults, and occasionally, death threats followed up by necrophiliac acts. Taking all of that into consideration, this is the part of the guide where I take a moment to say thanks and give credit to those who may have contributed in any of the manners listed above, especially the last one. CJayC - - Without you none of this would exist in its current form. litheum99 (Nathan) - - You may or may not be Nathan Whitman, but the information you posted on the boards all checks out. Thank you very much. And, good job with the game, I've really enjoyed it. In retrospect, the short Duck Amuck was such an obvious DS game, yet who but a hardcore WB fan would have thought about it? I applaud you & your team. CPFace - - Thank you for figuring out how to unlock the bonus reels. You saved me a ton of work since I was going to have to reset my game data just to find out how and hope I didn't miss it again in the process. Also, I have noticed you being the main voice of help on the message boards. You Sir, are Batman; hiding in the shadows and doing good. SBBGAMEMASTER - - Thanks for the confirmation about the correct way to unlock "Chat Spat." And even though I already had the other information you had provided, I still thank you for the effort anyway. It truly is appreciated.
