2. About the FAQ

This FAQ contains all the stuff you need to know about Kamen Rider
Dragon Knight, from the game modes up to the playable characters and
how to unlock them. The game doesn't really need any walkthrough since
it's a fighting game and easy to understand. So I just made this guide
to give you additional information and some tips on how to make the 
game more enjoyable.

The game mode composes of Ventara Mode, Advent Master Mode, Duel Mode 
and Options. While the playable characters are divided into Kamen 
Riders and Villains. In the Kamen Rider's section you will see their 
name, background, Advent Cards, special ability and their reason for 
fighting. The villains are just side characters and doesn't have 
anything special (except for Xaviax). So I just put some short 
description about them and their capabilities.

3. About Kamen Rider Dragon Knight
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Kamen Rider Dragon Knight is the very first Kamen Rider game developed 
for the DS. It is a fighting game wherein you could play all the Kamen 
Riders from the Dragon Knight series, and this also includes the 
villains. The game involves the use of Advent Cards. Each Kamen Rider 
has his own unique Advent Cards and to use this cards you must fill up 
the Advent bars, which can be clearly seen on the top screen of the DS. 
The Advent bars has a maximum of 3 bars and these bars are filled up by 
attacking, blocking, receiving damage or holding the L and R button 
together to charge the Advent bar. Normal cards only make use of 1 bar, 
while Final Vents uses 2 bars, and the only card that uses all 3 bars 
is the Survive Card, which is only applicable to Dragon Knight and Wing
Knight.

4. Game Modes
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

4.1 Ventara Mode
----------------
This is the story mode of the game where you could play all 13 Kamen
Riders, know their background and their reason for fighting. Each Rider
has 50 missions to accomplish with different objectives and fight 
Xaviax at the end of the story.

The secret characters and stages are to be unlock here. All you have to 
do is complete all 50 missions of every Rider to unlock everything in 
the game. As you go through the missions you will gain some levels and 
new Advent Cards that will help you in your future fights. Each Kamen 
Rider has their own unique set of Advent Cards. However, all of them 
have the same 5 Default Advent Cards which is usable only if the enemy 
is also a Kamen Rider.


4.1.1 Default Advent Cards
---------------------------
These Advent Cards are usable only against Kamen Riders.

Confine Vent - nullifies an opponent's Advent Card.
Freeze Vent - drains out all of the opponents Advent Bar.
Steal Vent - steals your enemy's equipped weapon.
Copy Vent - mimics your enemy's weapon.
Strange Vent -


4.1.2 Mission Objectives
------------------------
These are the type of missions that you will encounter in Ventara Mode.
>Defeat (enemy / all enemies) - very easy to accomplish
>Defeat (enemy / all enemies) within time limit
 - Attack your enemies to fill up your Advent bar and make use of
 your weapon vents for high damaging attacks.
>Win without getting hit by any attacks
 - This is a little bit of hard since you have only 1HP. The
 technique here is to be the first one to strike your enemy and use
 your Attack Vent and Final Vent when the Advent bar fills up.
>Win with a Contract Monster's attack
 - Reserve your Advent bar until your enemy's HP is low. Then summon
 your Contract Beast to deliver the finishing blow.
>Win with a Final Vent
 - Attack your enemy until he's HP low before using the Final Vent.
>Not allowed to use Advent Cards
 - Simply do not use any Advent Cards and rely on your physical
 attacks.
>Destroy the assigned target
 - Don't bother fighting the enemies. Instead, use your Attack
 Vent to fight for you while you focus on destroying the target.


4.2 Advent Master Mode
----------------------
Fight with various enemies and Riders to compete with your scores.
All of the Riders are playable in this mode, including Xaviax. Their
levels are carried over from the Ventara Mode. In this mode you will
go through 8 consecutive battles with Xaviax as the last boss, except
of course if your using Xaviax, you will fight Survive Mode Wing 
Knight. Do not worry because your HP will be replenish during each
fight. The objective of this mode is to setup a high score and try
again to beat it and aim for a higher score.


4.3 Duel Mode
-------------
Fight against a character controlled by the CPU. You can choose the
difficulty between easy, normal and hard. Select from 31 playable
characters: 18 Kamen Riders and 13 Villains. Unfortunately there is
no wi-fi feature that will allow you to play with other people.


4.4 Options
-----------
4.4.1 Sound Settings - adjust the balance of sound output.
4.4.2 Credits - display staff credits.
4.4.3 Format Data - delete current data to make a new one.
4.4.4 Language - select from 3 languages (English, Francais, Espanol).

6. Playable Characters

6.1 Kamen Riders
----------------
Overall there are 13 Kamen Riders in the game. However Dragon Knight,
Dark Wing, and Strike have sub categorizations due to their other 
forms. All Kamen Riders are playable in all modes. At first your only
playable Riders are Dragon Knight and Wing Knight. You have to unlock
The other Riders by playing the Ventara Mode. Each Kamen Rider has his
own unique skill and a set of Advent Cards to use.
 

6.1.1 Dragon Knight
-------------------
>How to unlock: Default character
>Name: Kit Taylor, 18 yrs. old
>Background: Once a confident, outgoing guy, has his life turned
 upside down when his father disappears and he finds, in his place,
 a mysterious deck of Advent Cards.
>Contracrt Beast: Dragreder (Dragon)
>Primary Attack: Punch
>Special Ability: Survive Mode
>Advent Cards
- Final Vent: Dragon Rider Kick - Dragon Knight jumps high to the air
 and performs a Rider Kick while Dragreder gives him a boost.
- Attack Vent: Dragreder rushes to the screen, damaging all enemies
 in a straight line.
- Guard Vent: Dragshield - improve Dragon Knight's defense.
- Sword Vent: Dragsaber - Dragon Knight's melee weapon.
- Strike Vent: Dragclaw - long range flamethrower.
- Survive: transforms Dragon Knight into his second form.

6.1.2 Dragon Knight (Survive)

 motorcycle and Dragon Knight riders him. Dragranzer spews out
 fireballs while charging at the enemy.
- Attack Vent: Dragranzer spews outs fireballs at the enemy.
- Guard Vent: Fire Wall - same as Dragshield, but the shield is
 not visible anymore.
- Sword Vent: Dragblade - stronger version of the Dragsaber.
- Shoot Vent: Meteor Bullet - stronger version of the Dragclaw.

6.1.3 Wing Knight

>Name: Len, 24 yrs. old
>Background: Fights alongside Dragon Knight in fighting Xaviax.

- Final Vent: Flying Slash - Black Wing attaches himself to Wing
 Knight and they jump into the air. Spinning around like a vortex,
 creating a drill that descends on the enemy.
- Attack Vent: Black Wing flies around and assists Wing Knight.
- Trick Vent: Shadow Illusion - Wing Knight creates some shadow clones
 to attack the enemy.
- Nasty Vent: Sonic Break - Black Wing stuns the enemy and causes
 damage.
- Sword Vent: Wing Lancer - Wing Knight changes his sword into a lance.
- Guard Vent: Wing Wall - improve Wing Knight's defense.
- Survive: transforms Wing Knight into his second form.

6.1.4 Wing Knight (Survive)

- Sword Vent: Darkblade - Darkvisor turns into a sword.

6.1.5 Incisor

- Final Vent: Hydro Venom - Sting rides on Evildiver and charges 
 at the enemy.
- Attack Vent: Evildiver flies around and assists Sting.
- Swing Vent: Evilwhip - Sting uses Evildiver's tail as a whip.

6.1.7 Thrust

>Name: Brad Barrett, 21 yrs. old
>Background: After his Motocross career ended because of a
 cheating scandal, Brad becomes Kamen Rider Thrust.

- Final Vent: Heavy Pressure - Thrust together with Metalgelas,
 charges at the enemy, using the Metal Horn as a spearhead.

- Strike Vent: Metal Horn - equips Thrust with a rhino gauntlet.

6.1.8 Axe

 offers him a score that will set him and Albert up for life.
 All they have to do is take out Wing Knight.

- Final Vent: Crystal Break - Destwilder drags the enemy to let Axe
 finish him with a mighty strike.

 enemies.

>Background: Pretending to be a mercenary, Xaviax offers Grant a job
 and the chance to be known as the toughest man on two worlds.

- Final Vent: Drive Divider - A herd of gigazelles attack the
 enemy, while Spear delivers the final blow with his knee.

- Spin Vent: Gazelle Stab - Equips Spear with two-pronged
 horned gauntlet.

6.1.11 Torque

>How to unlock: Clear Wing Knight's mission 7-5

>Background: A charismatic con-man, Drew fights as Kamen Rider
 Torque, competing for friendship.
>Contract Beast: Magnugiga (Bull)

>Special Ability: The only long-range Kamen Rider.

- Final Vent: End of Worlds - Magnugiga unleashes a storm of missiles
 causing a massive explosion.
- Attack Vent: Torque summons Magnugiga to shoot the enemy.
- Guard Vent: Giga Armor - improve Torque's defense.
- Shoot Vent: Giga Cannon - Torque summons a twin cannon mounted
 on his shoulders to blast the enemy.
- Shoot Vent: Giga Launcher - Torque uses a giant cannon.
- Strike Vent: Giga Horn - Torque's melee weapon.

>Background: Vic was possessed by Xaviax to become Wrath.
>Contract Creature: Goldphoenix (Phoenix)
>Primary Attack: Staff
>Special Ability: Invisible Dash
>Advent Cards
- Final Vent: Goldphoenix lifts Wrath into the air. Then they
 strike down at the enemy.
- Attack Vent: Goldphoenix flies around and assists Wrath.
- Guard Vent: improve Wrath's defense.
- Sword Vent: Goldsaber - equips Wrath with a pair of golden saber.


6.2 Villains
------------
The villains are only playable in Duel Mode, except for Xaviax (he
is also playable in Advent Master Mode). These villains are unlocked 
by going through each of the Kamen Rider's Ventara Mode. Unlike Kamen
Riders, the villains doesn't use Advent Cards, but instead they make
use of their own unique skills in fighting. It is also true that these
monsters are weaker compared to the Riders when it comes to overall
performance. That is why it requires a lot of playing skill to use
these characters.


6.2.1 Xaviax
------------
>How to unlock: Complete all missions for all Riders.
>Background:
-Xaviax is probably the strongest character of the game
because of his 999HP, auto guard and powerful moves.
>Primary Attack: Punch
>Special Ability: Auto Guard
>Advent Cards:
-Xaviax doesn't make use of advent cards, but instead he uses
special moves by pressing the A button, depending on the number
of advent bars.
-1Bar: Xaviax makes a quick laser spin.
-2Bars: Xaviax performs a twin laser spin.
-3Bars: Xaviax unleashes 5 consecutive laser beam from above.

6.2.2 Dispider
--------------
>How to unlock: Clear Onyx's mission 3-5
>Info: Dispider is a giant spider monster. He cannot block or evade,
 and has only 3 attacks. Y for long-range attack, X for charging 
 attack and B for jumping attack.

6.2.3 Zebraskull Bronze
-----------------------
>How to unlock: Clear Siren's mission 6-5
>Info: A zebra monster that fights using only his bare fists. He's just
 a normal monster without any special ability.
 
6.2.4 Zebraskull Iron
---------------------
>How to unlock: Clear Axe's mission 2-5
>Info: He is similar to Zebraskull Bronze, but much stronger and
 has more HP. Also, his primary move involves kick attacks.

6.2.5 Buzzstinger Bee
---------------------
>How to unlock: Clear Axe's mission 4-5
>Info: One of the few long-range characters in the game. His only
 attacks are low kicks and shooting arrows. Y for 1 shot and X for
 2 shots. The best strategy is to maintain a long distance and shoot
 charged arrows.

6.2.6 Buzzstinger Bloom
-----------------------
>How to unlock: Clear Camo's mission 4-5
>Info: He is similar to Buzzstinger Bee, but much stronger and
 has more HP.

6.2.7 Buzzstinger Hornet
------------------------
>How to unlock: Clear Sting's mission 2-5
>Info: A normal monster that uses two metal sticks in attacking.

6.2.8 Buzzstinger Frost
-----------------------
>How to unlock: Clear Spear's mission 6-5
>Info: Just like Hornet, Frost uses two metal sticks for his attacks.
 Frost's HP may be lower but his attacks are much stronger.

6.2.9 Buzzstinger Wasp 
----------------------
>How to unlock: Clear Thrust's mission 8-5
>Info: Makes use of a long metal rod for his attacks. Just like
 any other villain there's nothing special about Wasp.

6.2.10 Red Minion
----------------
>How to unlock: Clear Incisor's mission 1-5
>Info: The weakest character of the game and has the lowest HP. His
 primary attacks involves some punches and the use of his large
 shuriken.

6.2.11 White Minion
-------------------
>How to unlock: Clear Sting's mission 9-5
>Info: Much stronger than Red Minion and has more HP. The good thing
 about White Minion is that he finishes his combo with an aerial launch
 which allows you to make a follow up attack.

6.2.12 Blue Minion
------------------
>How to unlock: Clear Wrath's mission 9-5
>Info: The strongest among the Minion monsters. His attacks are
 aggressive and makes it easier to knock down enemies. One of the best
 villains to use.

6.2.13 Megazelle
----------------
>How to unlock: Clear Spear's mission 7-5
>Info: is an aggressive monster that uses his scissor-like weapon to
 make quick attacks. He may not be a Kamen Rider but he's guard crush
 is probably the best in the game.
