This will be my first character guide (and third guide all together), but I don't think that will stop me from doing an excellent job. I choose to do a character guide on Ichigo for Jump Super Stars for several reasons. First being, there are barely any other character guides, so I wanted to help fill the list up. I choose Ichigo because he's my favorite character in Bleach, and Bleach is just about the only series I've watched/read that is in Jump SuperStars (I've watched some of Naruto, though not all of it). And I also liked his fighting style. Hopefully I can help you master Ichigo, he's a great fighter in Jump Super Stars. **Note: I don't know official names for all of Ichigo's attacks, as I'm not even sure if there are official names for all of them to begin with. I know all his special attack names however, and I can give fitting names to attacks without them** ~Koolkirby +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ Section 1: Update History +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ January 18, 3:48 PM Fixed some spelling errors, added in Oshikaeshi, and corrected Dream/Tag Combo mix up. Thanks to Dutch_Inc and Norman Lee for finding some of these (corrected some of my own mistakes as well). January 16, 10:18 AM Just Starting the Guide Today, let's hope it becomes a success. +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ Section 3: Frequently Asked Questions +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ Unfourtunately, no one has yet sent in any questions at this point, however, if you have a question about the game, feel free to email me at [email protected]. I am not strict with my emails, you may ask whatever you want about this game, I'm not picky. If you have a question but would not like it updated in this section, just make a note of that, and I will not include your question to this section. +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ Section 4: Jump Super Stars Basics +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Controls =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= The controls may remind you somewhat of Super Smash Brothers. They are pretty simple, but still allow for some complex actions. D-Pad: Moving/Defending The D-Pad will probably be your most used button obviously. It's what you use to move. However, when used in conjunction with an attack, it will make your character do a different attack then normal. When standing, you may just do a normal punch or kick, but when you press left/right/up simuntaneously with the attack button, it will cause you to do a (normally) more powerful attack. Also, pressing down on the D-Pad makes you defensive. A: Jump Jumping, what game doesn't have it? Every character can jump at least twice in a row. Some get a third jump even. Jumping also changes the way some of your attacks are executed. If you were to press an attack button in air, it most likely would be a completely different attack then when you attack on the ground. Also note that special attacks cannot be preformed in mid-air. B: Fast Attack The B button allows for more quick and swift attacks, that normally don't do as much damage as other abilities. These are great for combos, or holding off your enemy when he's about to strike. If your on the offense though, don't rely to much on the B button, as the battle may get nowhere fast. Y: Strong Attack Strong Attacks do much more damage then Fast Attacks, and not all of them are entirely slow. Sure, not as fast as the B button, but they still don't put you at so much a risk when using them. Use these powerful attacks when you are just trying to do as much damage as possible. X: Special Attacks Every character has special attacks. They can be executed by either pressing the X button, or X and ^ Simuntaneously. These take up one energy bar (the blue bar under your health) but are well worth it. Most of them are heavy damage dealers, but occasionally you come across ones that heal you too (one of Ichigo's specials is to call upon Orihime, who then heals him). Some can even be charged to do max damage. Some specials do more damage if you press the X button over and over. L/R/Down: Defending Defending is a key component to Jump Super Stars. Practice using it, as it is important. Though you are basically invincible while defending, your shield will break if you leave it on to long, leaving you very vulnerable to attack. Also, on rare occasions some attack will get through your defense. Be careful of this. Also, if you use the A or B button while defending, you'll do what is called a punt. If used on item boxes, it'll kick them without breaking them. On enemies, it's like a normal attack, except most of the time it will kick them pretty far. Good technique for ringouts. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Koma =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Jump Super Stars is more then your average fighter. Sure you have weak attack, strong attack, and block. But there's a lot more to it then that. Instead of a character selection screen, you build your own Deck of Komas, which you use during your battle. Komas are like comic strips, each one representing a character. There are three styles of Komas (and three types, more on that later). There are battle Koma, like Ichigo, who you actually control in battle, and attack with. These are the most important Koma, choose your character wisely (though if your reading this, Ichigo is probably your main man). Then there are your Support Koma, who are somewhat like summons. These guys will appear on screen for a few seconds, and either attack your opponents, or heal yourself. And finally, there are help Koma's. These are your least important Koma, but all decks need at least one. They increase your stats temporarily, or heal you. Then there are three Koma types. Laughter, Knowledge, and Power. These work like a game of rock paper scissors if you will. Laughter > Power Power > Knowlege Knowledge > Laughter I wouldn't worry to much about Koma types however, unless your really struggling. I normally don't find much of a difference. And just to clarify, Ichigo is a Power character (makes sense really). =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Advanced Techniques =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Wall Breaking Walls in all the stages of Jump Super Stars can be broken. This is both good and bad. You can use these wholes in the wall to ring out opponents, but they can also use them to ring out you. If you like Ring Out kills, go for it. If not, don't give your opponent such an advantage. Ring Outs Basically hitting your opponent out of the ring. Punt attacks (Defending plus B or Y) are great for getting them out or close of the edge. If the stage doesn't already have a missing floor, make a whole in the wall. Dream Combo Basically Switching Between to Battle Characters quickly in battle will cause them to do a special 3 part combo with their basic attacks. The Third attack will use the third characters Special Attack (X). It will still use the same amount of energy. Super Tag Team When two characters are connected on your deck with the colored Japanese characters (letters in this case, they use the Jump Pirate as their emblem if you need help finding them), they can perform a Dream Combo. Simply tap the Japanese Character (anyone will do) and they will execute a powerful attack combining both of their specials. Really powerful, but it may not be worth the Koma space it takes up. Oshikaeshi (Something Like continuous pushing in English) Basically, if someone attacks you while your defending, press X (helps if you press it more then once). This will push them back somewhat, which is good for those pesky edge guarders. **Thanks to Norman Lee for this one, and notifying me on the Combo Mix Up** +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ Section 5: Where to Find Ichigo, and his Komas. +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ Ichigo is one tough customor to find. To start with, you need 420 Komas. The best way to do this is to complete every objective in every mission, and combine every koma you can until you have 420. This is not as easy as it sounds, 420 is a lot in this game. Still, it's fun and adds replay value to the game, so I'm not complaining (other then it takes so long to get Ichigo in the game, and you can't play him from the start =( ). After you have 420 Komas, go to Grasslands 1-9, and rebeat it. Simple enough. This opens up 5-1, where you can get your first Bleach Komas. _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_ First Goal: Collect More Fruit Then Your Opponent Wins you Hitsugaya Help Koma Second Goal: Finish with at least 30 seconds left Wins you Yourichi Help Koma Third Goal: Finish with at least 40 seconds left Wins you Ichigo Support Koma _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_ Now you can go to 5-2 _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_ First Goal: Beat all opponents Wins you Zangetsu Help Koma Second Goal: Never Get KOed Wins you Ichigo 4-block Battle Koma (woot) Third Goal: Clear with atleast half your max health Wins you Ichigo 4-block Battle Koma (double woot) _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_ 5-3 will also give you bleach related komas, but none of them being Ichigo battle komas. I'll put them up anyhow. _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_ First Goal: Break 15 oil barrels Wins you Rukia Help Koma Second Goal: Finish with at least 30 seconds left Wins you Renji Help Koma Third Goal: Finish with at least 40 seconds left Wins you Ichigo 3-block Support Koma _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_ Finally, there's 5-4, which will get you Ichigo's 6-block Battle Koma, which is a doozy to unlock if your not good at Ring Outs. _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_ First Goal: Beat all opponents Wins you Rukia 2-block Support Koma Second Goal: Finish with at least half your health Wins you Rukia 3-block Support Koma Third Goal: Ring out all the opponents characters at least once, every opponent on every team. Wins you Ichigo 6-blocok Battle Koma _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_ Finally, to get the 7-Block Battle Koma, get 540 Komas, and it'll be in your deck like that. Ichigo is a pretty hard unlockable, but he's well worth it. +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ Section 6: Ichigo's Attacks +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ Here I'll get descriptions and damage ratios of all of Ichigo's attacks, and how they can be used effectively. He is a Power Koma obviously due to his style. His main strenght lies in his ability to take on multiple opponents at once. This is not to say he isn't good one on one, but most of his attacks have great group effects. Mainly because his sword is so big. His main weakness is his lack of Combos. In fact, I think his only official combo is B - Y, 2 Attacks. Since Ichigo lacks combos, it's a good idea to keep him on his toes. He can't hold his ground for very long, because after he knocks someone down, they'll get up and be invincible for a short period of time. And he'll knock them them down with nearly all of his attacks sadly. When choosing what Koma to use, focus on what specials each one has. I suggest Koma 6, as Koma 7's specials are not that much superior, and the Koma 7 takes up a lot space due to it's awkward shape. Koma 6 is a nice even rectangle. Avoid Koma 4, it's specials are next to useless. To Make up for the uncomboable Ichigo, characters like Kakashi are nice to mix with him. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Unofficial Combos =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Cloud would be jealous. Buttons: B, Y, ^Y (Quick Slash, Power Slash, FF7 Victory Pose) Basically just an add on to the only official combo Ichigo has. Works well to prevent enemies from retaliating after the first two attacks. Nice Combo to get in the habit of using. Moon Fang Vendetta **Doesn't Worth With Koma 4** Buttons: B, Y, ^Y (Quck Slash, Power Slash, Moons Fang/Heavenly Chains) Another addition to the original combo. Works really well though, especially with Koma 7 inparticular. Does a great amount of damage, quick execution, and doesn't leave you open for very long afterward. Best way to execute special attacks. Slash Punt Buttons: B, VB/VY (Quick Slash, Punt/Power Punt) Not all that much different then a regular punt, but you can sneak in a quick slash just because. If you master a lot of little tricks like these, you can rack up damage at a must faster rate. Up and Over Buttons: ^B, Y (Overhead Slash, Power Slash) Nearly Identical to the official Combo, but this one has a wider area effect. Not that useful, but kinda cool. +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ Section 8: Credits +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ Authors of each Jump Super Star stories, for their quirky characters that made this game what it is.
