*~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Now, Let the Guide Begin~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*
[1.01] Introduction

Well, this is my 59th guide, and I'm starting to push on in numbers and in
age, so that doesn't really help. Anyway, this is for the space adventure
game Infinite Space, as you can tell by my previous guides, I am quite a big
fan of the space genre. Anyway, let us start.

And for the love of all things bacon, make sure you read the manual, it will
give you a lot of knowledge about the basics, so you don't have to pester me
about it.

*~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*
[1.02] Version History

Version 0.0 [22/3/10]
Started on this new guide. The DS portfolio is becoming bigger and bigger.

Version 0.1 [30/3/10]
This will be my second open project for the moment, Miles Edgeworth is the
only other open project, so I will get that done first, reducing the load
out.

Version 0.2 [29/7/10]
I had a busy last couple of months, but it's back to where I'm at, so expect
a few more updates to this guide. I've revamped most of the sections so they
are easier on the eye somewhat, easier to understand, and several new chapters
are added.

Version 0.3 [8/8/10]
Completed Chapter 4 and lots of bits and pieces.

*~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*
[2.01] Chapter 1

We start off in this game in the Ropesk sector, a sector that pretty much
seems deserted. It is a conversation between a few unknown people, and then
a face, but for now, we don't know who it is. They seem to be looking for
someone. Well, the alarm goes off, and it's time to start a fight. If you
haven't started this before, you MUST do the battle tutorial, it is a must
have before you start, because naval battles are going to be a big part of
the gameplay, and if you don't know what you're doing, you're in some serious
trouble, and the game has only just started. Lucky for you, you're in a very
powerful ship, and the enemies are quite weak.

Now, the battle scene shifts to a new character. An unidentified vessel is
being chased by some security forces. In this case, Nia is fleeing some
security forces who are a little too trigger happy. Now, time to practice your
battle skills, and defeat the enemy vessel. But after that, she crash lands
on Ropesk, and that is where we really start.

                             - INFINITE SPACE -

Cue our main character, Yuri. Hmmm, that brings back bad memories of Russians
and mind control. Never mind. Anyway, after a little introduction, blast off
into space we go. And why does everyone have to have white hair? Whilst this
is going on, we have a second plot line, something that doesn't even remotely
make sense, for now anyway.

Anyway, back onboard the Daisy, which is the crappy name for Nia's ship,
you will be asked if you are scared. I suggest you answer "Yeah", because that
will give you a little bonus. You get an extra 20 EXP in Ship Management. And
we don't even know what that is. For now, lets head to the closest planet
to us, which is planet Bagut. Select that and go.

But before we can get there, you will be ambushed by a group of 2 security
vessels from Ropesk Security, and you can't really escape, so lets engage
those two and wipe them out. Well, with this battle over, you get a total of
140G, 18 Fame and 14 Experience points. And what a funny name for a ship,
Boiky. Anyway, lets land on the planet.

 - Bagut -

We watch the docking sequence with utter fascination. At least the ship is
proportional to size of the station, unlike Freelancer. Anyway, you will be
told that once you land on a spaceport, they will check your ship for damage
and automatically fix it for you, so thing of it as a Pokecentre if you really
like. Also, it is a chance to make your crews less tired, which is quite
important later on. With this, Nia heads to the tavern. Anyway, when you are
ready, head down to the tavern.

With you are ready, talk to Nia. Yuri tells Nia the real reason he is getting
out of this hellhole, and that's because he wants to find out the real reason
behind the Epitaph that he is holding. And with that, in comes a gang to
try to steal it off you. Now, of the two options, you should pick "Now, hold
on a second." This will still lead to a fight and Nia cuts it short with a
single use of a Maser Blaster. With that, the thugs run off. With this, Nia
gives Yuri a bodysuit as well as a plasmic blade for defence. The reason for
choosing the outcome that I told you is because you get an incraese in your
Combat Skill by 3. And that's all you're gonna get out of this planet. Now,
head into Area 2 and land on Hapsal.

 - Hapsal -

Before we land, we get a transmission from the nice Overlord of Ropesk, Demid
Panfilov. He is the person who is in charge of this area, and he wants Yuri
to go back under his control. Yeah, sure, he'll just have the red carpet
ready. And he doesn't resort to violence, he just holds Yuri's sister
hostage, no dramas. What is interesting is that he says that Kira, the girl,
is his sister, but I thought he said his family was all dead. OBJECTION!

Anyway, we really don't have a choice but to defeat this annoying bald
dumbass, so what Nia suggests is that you get some money, purchase a
destroyer class ship and take the little cueball on, head on. With you are
ready to do so, talk to Nia in the tavern on Hapsal. Now, talk to the
Bartender, and if you ask for a job, he asks you to head to Bagut, and deliver
some cargo there to the barkeeper for 300G. Do it.

 - Bagut -

Once back in the tavern, those same thugs corner you again. Well this time,
Yuri whips out the Plasmic Blade, and well, the thugs get a little, well,
less willing to fight you. Anyway, he gives you a tip, that Demid Panfilov
has a massive security force around the void gate that leads into Central
Elgava, so you will need to fight them before you can go anywhere. Also,
when they finish their shifts, they like to head to the tavern at Hapsal. That
is the best time to have a chat with them.

Now, talk to the Bartender, and he will give you the money for the quest.
Talk to him for some information, and he will give you the information on
starlane. That leads to a unknown area in Area 1, and that is detailed in
3.01. Now, head back to Hapsal. Next, head into the Tavern, and talk to Nia
about the next part of your little quest.

 - Hapsal -

From here, we need to head to Toropets, where there is a shipyard. With
this, you will have it added to your map. Lets head there now.

 - Toropets -

Now that we've arrived at Toropets, it is time to get your destroyer. Nia
pawns off your little Epitath for 10,000G, which is enough to get your
little destroyer. From here, head down the Elevator to the shipyard, to
purchase the blueprints. Pick your ship, have it built, then you can head
off to insert modules onto it.

Now, the basics. You can head onto a planet and purchase blueprints off
ship designers. From there, you can head to a planet with a shipyard, and
they can build a ship via the blueprints for a set fee. Then, you can head
to a remodeller, and you can add on modules for your ships, which can improve
it's capabilities. Now, purchase a ship, and lets get moving onto the crew.

On the crew screen, you can assign which character goes where, in order to
make the best possible ship you can. Of course, the manual helps a little as
well as Nia. Once that is all sort, you have your very own destroyer. Now, do
the side quest for the bartender and you'll be back in Bagut. But visit the
??? in Area 2 first, you will get 10 fame for doing so. This will also be
added to the Celestial Objects part of your stats.

 - Bagut -

I guess this is the time to clear up any little bits of business you have to
do here, because we are now going to have to face the evil lord of the
area down at Ropesk. Guess you have to head there now. Get ready for your
first real boss fight.

 - Ropesk -

Now, we will witness Panfilov, and he will give you a fight that will be
worth your while. After a little firing up speech, we will have to face
Panfilov.

Now, first by using strategies. What you should do is to move backwards
and whack on Dodge. This will give you a much better chance to avoid enemy
fire. With this, wait until you command gauge is full, and move onwards to
launch a Barrage, and after that attack, whack on dodge and repeat the same
thing.

Now, the easiest thing to do is to take out the first two ships, number 2 and
3, these are the support ships, and by clearing them out of the way, you can
deal with Panfilov last. After a few barrages, he will activate a special
laser, giving you all the more reason to play around and dodge like crazy.
This is the most effective way of winning, hit and run, and it will avoid
damaging your ship too badly.

With this, you can easily destroy Panfilov, and take down his pretty heavy
duty ship. You have complete the first part of the game, well done. And that
was a pretty hard boss battle for the first boss.

Anyway, all is fine and dandy, so Kira becomes part of your crew. Elsewhere,
some more experiment looking stuff is going on. I don't see how that is any
of our problem. Yet. Now, after this, land on Bagut

 - Bagut -

Head to the tavern and talk to your new friends, and this is done because
Nia will give you some shooting advice, increasing your ability with Artillery
by 1, for both Yuri and Kira. Now, head on over to Hapsal.

 - Hapsal -

Once you reach Hapsal, you will need to bribe the gate guards at the tavern
with something LIKE 100G, so it isn't a bribe, it is like a bribe. Also,
talk to the bartender, and hear his troubles. Now that you have already
defeated the boss, you can head over to the void gate, where the loud mouth
who started a fight with you, Torlo, will join your crew.

 - Void Gate -

From here, since you have bribed the guards and defeated the boss for this
chapter, you can either turn back, talk to the guards, or fight them. For
now, turn back to Hapsal and assign Torlo a position on your crew, so you
will have a bit more firepower. Then, head back oe the gate, and defeat the
guards, talking does nothing. Defeat them, and that will bring you into the
next sector, Elgava/Lursk. And the start of chapter 2.

*~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*
[2.02] Chapter 2

Well, nothing will occur until you talk to the bartenders, so whilst you still
can, explore a bit, purchase some blueprints for the modules and upgrade
your ship, and well, then we can get started. Look at the sector map below
if you want to explore to get more G, and where to purchase some more modules
for your ship.

I suggest that you do some shopping, getting some Level 2 modules that will
significantly boost your puny ship into something stronger. When you are
done exploring, head to Poposk.

 - Popash -

Talk to the Bartender, and from there, fly to the void gate, and you will
get an event scene with Kira, and it appears that there a very large ship
haeding to your direction. This is certainly not good. This guy is Dedon
Galkin of the Novgorod Pirates. You might as well go in and get crushed,
you won't die. After you have taken enough damage, it is time have a little
talk.

The Central Elgavan Forces will intervene and he will retreat, obviously not
a match for their superior firepower. They will retreat, and you will live.
Well, the Captain of the Fleet, the Zone 4 fleet, will be suprised that you
are such a young captain and held your own, and offers you to meet him in
person in Lutsk Base. Well, from the gate, head over to Perekop, and move
into the Efimov Inc special event place.

 - Perekop -

At the door of Efimov Inc, the guard will cut you off, so you have no way
to enter, which Nia points out as strange. So head into the tavern. The first
weapons employee will give nothing, but the second will, and says that the
company has just been subject to a hostile takeover by the Novgorod
Pirates, the very same guys who just tried to kill you. They killed the
president, and the son is in hiding. Great. He is hiding in Klaipedia
apparently.

Now, I suggest you take the side-quest from the bartender, and fly off to
Nezhatin.

 - Nezhatin -

You get your reward if you followed the instructions. You can talk to the
old man at the tavern. His name is Gen Nadiy, and his student Alik. Talk to
him again, and he will ask you if you want a lesson. Say yes, don't reject
anything decent for free, and for this, you get the skill of Fleet Leader,
Level 2, which means you can command 2 ships in battle now. Now, to the
next place of interest, and that is Lutsk.

 - Lutsk -

In here, as always, head to the tavern. Talk to Rufina, who is in charge
of this little tavern. Talk to her again and she will introduce you to an
employee, Tatiana. It turns out that Torlo knows Tatiana. Then, talk to
Tatiana once more, and once more again, and once more, and the third time,
she will join your crew. Anyway, talk ot Rufina, and she will talk about her
former husband, someone who needs money, and that someone sounds a lot like
Radimir on Hapsal. We have to pay him a visit.

Before you leave, head into the guild. You can hire Poplo, who is a leader
of a Mercenary unit, and he will cost a total of 500G. Gadina is the second
in charge of the mercenary unit, and will cost a total of 300G if you want
to hire her. You can only hire both of them if you have a fame value of over
200, so you might want to get into a few more battles. Now, we can head into
the void gate and back into Ropesk. But before that, head into Klaipedia,
and talk to the Bartender.

 - Klaipedia -

We know that the son of the former president of Efimov is here, and his name
is Karlos. Talk to the bartender for information, and he will lead you to
his house. Talk to him, and tell him that you will defeat the pirates that
killed his father. He will give you the Shield Frame 1 module to play with
on your ship as well. And he is added to your crew. Now, into Ropesk.

 - Ropesk System -

As you enter, you get a transmission, the Pawnshop owner from Toropets will
make a communication saying that his store is under attack from pirates.
Well, make a stop on Hapsal first.

 - Hapsal -

Talk to Radimir, the man in the bar. Yuri will give him money, and instead,
he will join your crew after a little conversation. After that, head into
Toropets.

 - Toropets -

Head into the Pawnshop. Looks like the pirates from Lutsk went in and stole
everything, including your precious. It turns out that they ran into the]
Milesk Sector. It appears that it was a 6 ship fleet that went in and stole
everything, which is a problem, 6 Ships is a lot of firepower. This will
open up the starline at the Milesk Sector which is close to Toropets. Lets
go.

 - Milesk Sector -

Well damn, there are a lot of ships. But the thing is, they have all been
destroyed, all wiped out. No battle with a massive fleet. Yay! But in comes
a massive supership, that is coming straight towards you. It is the ship
Corsair, and it belongs to Valantin the Pirate, the guy in the battle
tutorial. Well, damn. He will laugh at you, saying that he stole everything
already. A pirate's pirate. Well I'll be.

Yuri will demand his precious back, and Valantin will ask you to get it back
via force. Ship battles, well, not your forte. They are going to board you,
forcing you into a melee battle. This is where you are going to learn about
melee battles. It is a rock, paper, scissors game.

Well, first time, you need to win, so leader is your best option, but the
second one, you will ALWAYS LOSE, you are outnumbered, 8000 to 200. Well,
Valantin will leave a mark on Yuri, Anyway, this leaves the Melee option
available for you in battle. After the event, head back to Milesk again from
Toropets to collect a blueprint. You get the blueprints to the Second Bridge
1 Module.

Now, since we have that cleared up, we need to head over to Lutsk Base. Before
you get to the base, Nia will suggest that the Commander who saved you is in
cahoots with the pirates, after all, they didn't kill the pirate Dalkin, but
this will be resolved later.

 - Lutsk Base -

At the HQ, you will meet Commander Oleg Vladykin, in charge of the Zone 4
area of the 122nd Fleet. You will also meet his superior officer, Captain
Mogilek Novikov and the base commander, Tefed Mudakov. Now, talk to Oleg,
Mogilek and Tefed until they start repeating themselves, and then talk to
Oleg again, who requires your help in fighting the pirates, and you pretty
much need to say yes. So go discuss the mission in his lodgings.

When you enter, it turns out that Tatiana's brother, Zakhar, is the person
you are going to be contacting for this mission, as he is the spy within
the pirate faction. So, you will need to go to the planet Ruza to collect the
data chip off him. Remember, the code word is "we'll buy you a few drinks".
Before you leave, Oleg will give you one of two blueprints, one to the Orfey
class Destroyer, and the next to the Derzky class. It doesn't matter which one
you pick, but I suggest the Orfey, because of its sheer firepower that can be
used later on, but it is up to you. You will get the one you missed out on
later anyway.

 - Ruza -

All you need to do is to head into the tavern, look for the military looking
man, and then talk to him using the code word. You get the datachip, so head
back to Lutsk base.

However, en route to the base, you will be attacked by Dedon Galkin again.
This is again a battle where you dish out enough damage or take enough damage,
he will give up or flee. With this, head back to Lutsk Base and get this
done.

 - Lutsk Base -

Now, if you have recruited Poplo, which I told you to, make sure you head into
the tavern now and talk to him. He will mention that Galkin's movements seem
very familar, and you can ask him how so, and he will give you a lesson that
will increase your Navigation skill by 1.

Now, talk to Oleg, who will say that you will need to wait for a while whilst
the chip is being analysed. This basically takes the time for you to dock on
other planets twice. This will be notified when you have a cutscene with Nia,
who will mention that when you fought with Galkin, you got an encrypted
transmission, and that they have decoded it. It reads "Tatiana in danger, let
her off ship." That doesn't help. Anyway, when you are done, you can head back
to base or finish off the other sidequests in this game.

 - After the Analysis -

After the chip is ready, you can talk to Oleg, and it is time that you mount
a direct assault against the pirates in this sector. Now, you can choose
between the direct route and the indirect route. Now, this is where the
spoilers come in. If you choose the direct route, you will be able to recruit
Zakhar, Tatiana's brother, later in the game. If you choose the indirect
route, Zakhar will be killed, and you will be able to recruit Dedon Galkin
later in the game. This is up to you.

When you have chosen a path, it is time to fly into the hornet's nest, and
get ready for a massive firefight. If you choose the indirect path, you will
have to go through an extra battle before you get to the boss fight, so you
will be carrying over damage.

 - Boss Battle -

This time, you are fighting Balik, who is a real pain in the ass. This guy
isn't that bad if you have got 2 powerful ships in your fleet, and barrage
means a lot of heavy firepower. This is where you need to perfect the usual
hit and run tactic. First, put dodge on, and move back, and let that command
gauge fill up to the max. Then, fly straight into the enemy, wait until they
fire, and after they have fired a barrage, barrage back, put on dodge, and
run. Rinse and repeat. You can never go wrong with this tactic.

Either way, the indirect route will have Admiral Ackbar saying "It's a Trap!"
over and over again. And after the boss battle, we land on the pirate base
and we need to look for Balik. When you enter the base, you will enter a
T junction, and take the left path in order to get some new blueprints for
Nav Bridge 1. From there, back to the T junction and the right path will lead
you to the main event room.

Now, what happens here is that Zakhar is well, superhuman in strength due to
a drug, and tries to kill Tatiana, and Torlo shoots him, and depending on the
path you take, he will either die or still live and gets carted off to
hospital. Galkin shows up and tells you that he is actually a spy for the
Central Elgavan Forces. He tells you what happens, Mudakov, the base commander
for Lutsk, sold out to the pirates, and that is how they know Zakhar was a
spy, and used a chemical to literally control his mind. Now with all this
sorted, back to Lutsk.

 - Lutsk Base -

Well, Oleg will be there, and inform you that Tedar has fled the scene. He
will ask you to go to his lodgings, and he will give you the blueprints to
the Rurik Cruiser, which is a decent ship. Anyway, it is time for your to
head off, and you get a scene, Oleg knows that his Captain is corrupt, but
doesn't reveal it if he joins the Reformist faction, whatever that is. Here,
head off to Perekop.

 - Perekop -

I tell you to go here because you will need to visit Efimov, because since you
have Karlos in your squad, he will be greeted by an employee, who in the end
gives you designs to two weapons, the Anti-Ship Missiles M and S. With this,
the Chapter is pretty much cleared up, so head to Area 4 and into the Warp
Gate into Elgava Central.

*~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*
[2.03] Chapter 3

When you arrive in Elgava Central, you will be visiting the planet of Paozero
first.

 - Paozero -

You will want to head to the Tavern first, this is important because talking
to the bartender will unlock the Medic Organisation HQ on Nerekhta, so you
will want to talk to the bartender before you head off to the planet of
Zvenigorod.

 - Zvenigorod -

Your first option is to head to the Hospital, where you can Tatiana's
brother there if you rescued him in the previous chapter. Other than that, you
can head to the HQ, where you will meet Oleg again, and whilst he talks about
some business, he will talk about Epitaphs, a talk about Galkan and his
role with Balik, and finally asks you to head to the officer lodgings and
he will talk to you in private.

At his lodgings, he will give you the blueprints for the Borodino class
Battleship, and this is quite important, you will definitely want one of these
bad boys when you absolutely can. Anyway, he will give you the blueprints for
one of these, as well as the upgrade to Fleet Leader 3, so you can now take
3 ships into battle.

With this, he will ask you to solve 2 problems that the Elgavan Forces
cannot solve, which is rather odd. First, there is a dispute between the
planets of Alatyr and Druitesk over the Buzhsk Star System. For that, he
suggests that you find a man called Gennadiy Alabyshav to help solve the
problem. That name sounds very familar, because it is, he is the very same
old man who helped Yuri gain Fleet Leader 2.

The second job is to deal with the pirates, both Balik and Argun are a thorn
in the side of the Elgavan Central Forces, however, although you may try to
solve the pirate problem first, you cannot solve the pirate problem until you
settle the border dispute. Now that you have your orders, you can head to
Chernesk for a side mission that may be worth your time. When you are done
here, it is time to head to Nerekhta.

 - Nerekhta -

Head over to the Tavern, where you will meet Galkin again, you know, the now
world-famous spy. What you did in Chapter 2 will not matter, but it will in
the next chapter, you will either recruit him next chapter, or Tatiana's
brother in the 11th Chapter. Anyway, talk to Galkin and he will add in some
new starlines for you, and again for you to find Gennadiy.

Also, with this, Ian will join your crew. You will need to note that when you
next take off and land, Ian will question Yuri's ability to command a fleet,
and when he asks if you need some pointers, say yes, it will add 30 experience
to your leadership bar. Which is always welcome.

Anyway, when you are done talking with Galkan, head to the Medic Organisation
Headquarters, and you will need to have talked to the Bartender on Paozero
first for this. First, you will need to donate 500G, and in return, they
will give +2 Medicine skill to either Nia, Kira or Tatiana, I suggest either
Kira or Tatiana, but it really depends on who has the higher medicine skill
as to further promote it. And don't give it to Nia. You'll see why later in
the game. Anyway, donate 500G 2 more times, and at the end of it, you will
get the module for Sick Bay 2, and Shield Generator 2, which is pretty
awesome at this stage of the game.

 - Finding Gennadiy -

Gen is actually pretty easy to find, but first of all, you need to head over
to the Warp Gate, where you will need to Warp to Lutsk, and you will need
to find your way again all the way to Nezhatin, where you will find Gen in
the Tavern. Talk to him, and he will agree with you, so you will need to fly
all the way back to Alatyr, where you will see one half of the ships that are
flying towards a massive battle. Gen says this isn't good, and asks you to
fly him to Deviagorsk, where he will disembark and as you to come back after
a bit of time, he has a plan up his sleeve.

 - Settling Disputes -

After you have docked 3 times, you can head back to Nerekhta and enter the
Tavern, Gen has already got it set that pirates have infiltrated the naval
forces fighting in the border dispute, so you will need to fly off back to
Deviagorsk, and you need to head to the tavern and talk to him twice, he will
join the crew, and now you need to get your forces ready to fight, you need
to take on these pirates.

Now, you will need to fly to Driutesk and you will need to start fighting the
enemy fleets that pop up. Now, the aim here is not to target the lead ship,
you cannot target the ship listed as #1, which are government forces, while
the other ships are pirate forces. Destroy the first fleet, and then move
to the ??? sector in Area 4, and wipe out the other fleet here, same process
by removing all but the first ship.

When that is done, you will see a cutscene with Novikov being summoned by
Defence Minister Fomich, who will send in the 117th Fleet to the Buzhsk
Star System, and that will pretty much end the dispute. With this done, you
will be able to finish off some other side missions, as well as being the end
of Gen, although he will actually stay until the end of Chapter 3, and gives
Yuri the ability of Final Roar, Level 1. With this part done, you will need
to solve the Pirate Problem. Do to this, head to the planet Gorodok.

 - Gorodok -

Once you land here, you will have a nice little party and all, but the small
problem is that at the end of it, Ian and the barmaid Melania will be captured
by the pirates, which is pretty annoying. You will need to fight in the first
of the ??? sector to get Ian back, but you still need to get Melania back, and
you will need to wipe out the pirates.

However, after getting Ian back into your crew, you will have the problem that
there are meteors in the second ??? sector, and for this, you will need to
have the Deflector installed on your ships. All of your ships, and this can
make it pretty pricey, so either do some side missions or grind your way by
beating the snot out of the enemy. Also, I highly, if not demand that you have
a Borodino class ship and put that in the front row, with all the bells and
whistles, you definitely need it.

Now, with this, you will also need a security room, and assign someone to
security on your ship. Gadina is a good choice if you have her, because of
her combat skills, and Nia is a good choice for the second security post. It
is best if you have both security slots filled, because it makes it that much
easier ahead.

 - Argun and Balik -

With your deflectors on, you will need to fight Argun after you have move
past the second of the ??? areas. This is a hard battle without the Borodino,
you will be facing 2 normal ships, 2 destroyers and a cruiser. This isn't that
bad, destroy the normal ships, then the destroyers, and move onto the
cruiser. This is only hard because you will take a pounding if you do not
have a tank to take the damage, and if you did not equip a deflector to the
other ships in the fleet, they will be reduced to 10HP, hence, you will need
deflectors on all ships.

After the battle, immediately turn around the ship and head back to Gorodok
for repairs. Save here, and make sure your security officers are ready, you
will need to head to Medyn again. This time, Balik will pop out with a very
powerful ship, and Yuri, in his infinite wisdom, will want to fight. However,
the ship isn't that bad, overall, you are facing again, 2 normal ships, 2
destroyers and a cruiser. Defeat them, and land on the Death Star of Medyn.

 - Medyn -

Get ready to attack the pirate hideout, you will be walking in a linear
area, so no hidden moves or hidden areas. When you first enter the area, you
will see why I told you to bring security officers, you will be duking it
out in melee battles. The first battle is simple, 400 pirates with a melee
skill of 5. Progress a little more past these pirates, you will find a 300G
currency card.

Moving along the pirate hideout, and soon you will fight Balik and his little
motley crew of 600 pirates, with an attack skill of 37. The reason for the
two security officers will easily outscore Balik on attack, and with a
Borodino, you should have more than enough in terms of crew. Defeat him, and
move along. With this, you will need to head to the 5th floor, and this time,
for the final melee battle.

Which is nothing major, it is just 400 pirates with an attack skill of 5.
With this, Argun will surrender, and you will have the option of sparing him
or saving him, what you should do is "Show no mercy" 3 times, and this will
lead to Melania surviving, since sparing him will trigger a bomb in her
cell.

Now, what happens is that Argun has somehow rigged a bomb into the keycard,
and it blows up, severely injuring Yuri. He tries to kidnap Kira, but in what
is the final show of stupidity, he tries to kidnap someone with a gun, not a
smart move. You can figure out what happens, but now it is time to leave Medya
and you will need to head to the Void Gate, there is a Medic Organisation
ship there, and it's the only way Yuri will get any sort of treatment. From
here, head into area 1, the rightmost ??? for the ship. With this, you will
be saved, and end up in Zvenigorod in Hospital, which Oleg admitted you to.

 - Zvenigorod -

Now, head to the lodgings and talk to Oleg. Oleg will be busy again, this
time, the government has sent a small probe outside the Small Magellanic
Cloud, but they lost contact with it and cannot find it, suspecting foul
play. What gets Yuri's interest is that it was investigating the Epitaphs, and
last seen in the Volodarev Sector. So, you will need to investigate this
little problem for him. However, make sure that you do the sidequests for
this chapter, they do have some rewards of new crew, which is something that
you need. They are listed in the sidequests area because they are not
essential to the main storyline, which goes here.

Now, we have to travel to the Volodarev Sector first, to investigate the
area and find evidence of the probe that is seemingly lost.

 - To Volodarev -

It turns out that on the road to find the probe, on the way to Volodarev,
once you head to the ??? sector next to Volodarev, and you will see some
regional Elgavan forces. However, they start shooting at you, and that
doesn't bode well, if you haven't noticed, your fatigue bar is going to make
any battle harsh.

Turns out that the person in charge of these forces is a person you have seen
before, former Commander Tefed Mudakov, the former commander of Lutsk Base
who had been taking bribes from Balik and Argun, but alas, they are no more,
and now, it is time to battle.

This battle isn't hard, in terms of enemy ships, the real difficulty is that
you have a very slow command gauge since you have a tired crew. You will be
fighting 4 destroyers and a cruiser, but if you just dodge and barrage with
only your outermost range guns, you should be fine, and you will capture him
and move into Volodarev. However, he doesn't know what happened to the probe
ship. Which is interesting.

 - Volodarev -

Head into the tavern, and talk to the oddly dressed man, who turns out to be
Semias, a person that Nia knows. Semias Alastar, a strange man, so talk to
him again, and it turns out that he was looking for Nia, something about the
void gate to the Alzenia Sector being reactivated, and someone is invading
someone else, which can't be good.

Anyway, Nia will want to talk to Semias some more in private, so you will
need to leave them, and head back outside the tavern, and enter the Forest and
the Meadow. Enter both of them, and that will allow you to talk to Nia again.
Head back to the Tavern and talk to Nia, and you will get the Voyage Recorder
for the probe, something that Semias found. However, you don't get any
information on how Semias obtained the recorder and how the probe was
destroyed.

Also, before you leave, head to the Meadow again, and the old farmer will talk
about his son, Ratai. Now, leave Volodarev, and you get a scene talking about
the Alzenia Sector, a place so far away that without void gates and travel
using conventional rockets, it would take 5 years. And it is where Nia is
from. Now, head to Zvenigorod, and you will see another event, a scene with
the mysterious people again, talking about a Tracker, and thought control
activation at the next observation checkpoint. Keep an eye on this, it will
be interesting.

 - Zvenigorod -

Once you enter port, you will find a man by the name of Ratai Faustov, which
sounds very familiar. He says he has done a lot of work using radars, which
means he would have good control, but really, he just has a very high skill
with Science, which makes him a good research.

Now, head over to the lodgings to talk to Oleg. Report to him about the
probe ship, and he will have that recording analysed. Next, you will hand over
the rat Madokov, and he is pretty surprised about that, so he gives you some
information about Epitaphs, so head to the HQ.

At the HQ, he will say that the recording is badly damaged, but it takes
time. About the epitaphs, he talks about dead gates, basically, void gates
that are no longer functional, which aren't common in Elgava, but are seen in
remote sectors. With his report, there are cases of epitaphs found near dead
gates, and he talks about a Professor Gavrill Minas, where he found the
epitaphs and gates have similar compositions. You will need to find him, and
he is located in Heraklion in the Kalymnos Cluster. Which is your next
destination.

Oleg Vladykin also gives you access to the ship company that makes ship
designs for the military on Chernesk, and this unlocks the Askold Cruiser,
the Skoryy Destroyer, and either the Derzky or Orfey Destroyer, the one you
didn't get from Chapter 2. Now, time to head to Chernesk, but now, a little
scene.

Oleg will be summoned by Defence Minister Fomich, where he will be given the
chance to directly report to the President of Elgava, President Vlaso Saburov
and that is quite the honour. However, Novikov, Oleg's CO, will not be too
pleased, and gets told off pretty quick.

 - Rest of Chapter 3 -

Now, you can purchase the blueprints from Chernesk, and you get access to
your second Cruiser. Now, head back into the Lutsk sector, and enter the pub
in Ketrzyn, where you can talk to a dignified man, and he will introduce
himself as Yesfir Godislav, and is apparently a master of the stars. Whatever
choice you make, you will end up 300G poorer, and Yuri's Ship Management skill
will increase by 5 experience. That was a lot for 300G to be honest, luckily
defeating the pirates to get here will net me more than that.

Now, back in Elgava Central, and you will want to head back to Volodarev, and
into the Meadow again. After a tearful reunion, the elderly farmer accepts
that Ratai will want to join your crew, and asks you, a teenager, to look
after his son. Damn. And as a little present, it will give you blueprints
to Observation Room 1. Guess it wasn't a happy reunion after all.

When all this done, prepare to head to the void gate near Driutesk. Once you
near the warp gate, Gen will have a talk with you, and he will be taking his
leave, with Alik at his side. Ian will now offically be a permanent member
of your crew now as well. Once you are at Deviagorsk, head into the Warp
Gate for another scene with Kira, who cannot seem to be stable when moving
through warp gates, and now, into the next sector, Kalymnos Junction Y.
Now in Kalymnos, land on Chios for another cutscene with Kira, and then a
little chat and somewhat misunderstanding with Nia. And this wraps up Chapter
3 rather nicely.

*~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*
[2.04] Chapter 4

 - Chios -

Chapter 4 starts off at Chios, and this time, you will want to talk to the
Bartender first, and he will give you the lowdown about the situation in this
little sector. The thing is, this sector has a pirate problem, the Kreios
Pirates, and their rival is headed by Celina, the Nightmare Queen. The fact
is, even though the pirate boss is locked up in prison, in fact, that have
grown in power instead, even though their boss is gone.

Meanwhile, talk to your friends here, and you will have a chate with Karlos,
who will want you to travel to the planets around Kalymnos, and with this,
you should ask "Why?". He explains that he wants to learn about the adamas
armour that is found here, and with that, Yuri will get +1 level added to
his Science skill. Now, from Chios, head to Veroia and back into Area 1 into
the south-eastern ??? area.

 - Engine Dilemma -

From here, your ship will come to a standstill, I was thinking it was a
pirate attack, however, it is some silicon based organisms, or parasites
for a lack of a better word, will enter the engine, which clogs it up and
forces your ship into a complete stop. You will send out a distress signal,
and luckily, someone, by the name of Nerissa Roubis will help you out with
your engine troubles, and off she goes.

When your engine is fixed up, head over to Thira and enter the Tavern, to
find that Roubis is there. After helping you fix up your ship, she did
kinda punch the captain, and as such, she is without a job. In order to
make things even, she asks you to hire her, and you will do that. She will
join your crew, and either way, she is an asset, with good maintenance
skills.

 - Heraklion -

Anyway, once we are here, you will want to head over to Heraklion, where you
will need to visit the labs of Dr. Minas. who is in his labs. He will start
to blabber on about something or another, but as Kira sums it up quite nicely,
all you need to do is to head to the ruins on Mytilene and investigate the
ruins there. However, if things were only that simple. When you go into the
??? sector on the way to Mytilene, the problem will be evident.

The 11th Task Force of Kalymnos Sector Security will greet you, saying that
all access beyond this point is restricted due to enemy pirate presence, the
Kreios pirates are causing a very big ruckus, it seems. Therefore, there
isn't much that you can do. Might as well explore a bit and do some side
quests, so refer to my area map and sidequests list for this chapter for some
stuff to do, money to gain, and new crew members. When you are done with all
that, head into Volos.

It is worth noting that this is the time you will want to visit the HELP
android. If you have visited a total of about 20 odd topics using HELP, view
it again when Minas is in your crew. It will break down, which is odd, and
when you leave port, Minas will have rebuilt HELP, into a female combat
droid. She is quite powerful with a very good combat score, and at Level 1
as well. She is a useful addition to a crew, especially in the combat role.

 - Volos -

You will want to visit the tavern here, because there apparently is a bar
fighting competition going on. Basically, 2 people fight, the winner gets the
spoils. The reigning champion is Otis, and the bartender asks if you want to
join in. With Gadina in your crew, she will decide to enter the ring, where
she gets called Gorilla Lady. Needless to say, 3 swift hits later, you are
now 500G richer.

If you set the path to recruit Galkin instead of Tat's brother, by entering
the Defence Post on Volos three times will allow you to encounter him and
then, recruit him onto your crew. Other than that, it is time to head to
the planet of Dodecanese.

 - Dodecanese -

In here, you will want to enter the tavern, and there will be a fight here.
There is a fight between 2 bar patrons and a trader, who is from Nova
Nacia. You can either do nothing, or intervene, and really, it isn't a fair
fight, so help the trader. The result is that Yuri and Torlo will join in
the melee, and both will gain 20 experience points in Combat, which is nice
for a bar brawl.

Shortly after the brawl, the Sector Security forces will enter, and they will
break up the fight relatively quickly. When they leave the area, given that
they are off-duty, talk to the trader, and he will offer a reward of 100G.
Decline his offer twice, and he, Paulo Marjeno, says that Nova Nacians will
never forget their debts, and he might help you in the future. There is a
reason you should reject his offer twice. But the time will come for that.

After you have left the tavern and enter it again, the same bar patrols that
you beat up will attack you again, so you have the choice to defeating them
again, either with Yuri, Ian, Nia or Torlo, but there is really no difference
between the two, so any of them will do.

Now, I suggest you take the route to Chios and then to Veroia.

 - En Route to Veroia -

On the way to Veroia, which is pretty much the only place you can go after
you leave Dodecanese into the ??? sector, there will be a little scuffle
between some Sector Security forces and a pirate group. They seem to be
attacking a private passenger liner, and here, you will need to make a little
choice. You can either attack the pirates, or you can defend the passenger
ship.

This is an important point, by attacking the pirates, you will be able to
recruit Adorinda Nobelo in Chapter 5, but defending the passenger ship will
allow you to recruit Nikolao Garni in Chapter 5. It is up to you, both are
pretty decent in management, but Adorinda is better as a chef, whilst Nikolao
is the better accountant. It is up to you.

 - Veroia -

When you land on Veroia, you will need to do what Ensign Pappas and Delis tell
you to and visit the security agency on the planet. Once there, you will meet
their commander officer, Lieutenant Commander Silas Ioannov. There seems to be
an argument between Sector Security and the Defence Agency, basically, nothing
gets done.

Talk to Ioannov, and he will tell you the problem at hand, the Kreios pirates
have been growing stronger and stronger, and although it is known that their
main base of operations is in the asteroid field of Spider's Web, the problem
is that Sector Security isn't exactly the most loved force the pirates will
want to see, so he asks you to help. Say that you are confident that you can
do the job.

When you say this, he will inform the 11th Task Force of Sector Security, that
is lurking in the ??? field past Heraklion to let you through. When you get
to that area, you will be let through, the ships part way for your fleet to
move past.

 - Spider's Web -

When you move to the Spider's Web, you will encounter a ship sending out a
distress signal, and you will promptly look for survivors. You will end up
finding a woman on board, but she is currently unconscious, and there is
really nothing you can do at the moment.

Ok, on the approach to the Spider's Web, you will encounter a few pirate
patrols. The first of the pirate patrols will be made up of 2 destroyers and
a single cruiser, and this is pretty easy to remove, it isn't anything you
haven't encountered, but the second will consist of 2 destroyers and 2
cruisers, which may involve some more cautious tactics. Defeat them, and
Yuri will, for once, do the right thing and turn back. Back to Veroia you
go.

When you land in port next, the woman will wake up, as in the woman you
saved. She will introduce herself as Rhea, and when you talk to her in the
tavern, she will mention that she is looking for her boyfriend, Leo, and she
joins your crew to look for him.

 - Veroia -

Now, into the Security Agency you go again, and you will need to talk to
Ioannov, and this time, you aren't so confident about breaking through to
the pirates. From here, head into the Tavern and talk to Ensign Pappas,
continiously, he will tell you there is a way to get rid of the pirates.
However, you must have previously talked to the tavern's bartender about
the sector's problem with pirates.

Pappas will mention that the only way to get rid of the pirates is to let
their rivals take over, and their only rival here is Celina, and the job
here for you is to talk to Celina and let her take out the pirates. The
incentive for her is the removal of over 20,000 charges of piracy and the
like. However, you will need to do this, after all, a sector security ship
visiting a pirate will end in a firefight.

With this, Pappas will tell you that she was last spotted in the area around
Zante, and he will also give you a letter of introduction to the Shipyard on
Volos. When you are heading, head over to the Zante area.

 - Zante -

In the ??? area around Zante, you will see Celina engaging a ship from what
is reported the Large Magellanic Cloud. They are engaged in a pretty tough
battle, and it seems that Celina has the upper hand, as she fires her Laser
Accelerator, a gun from Lykourgas which is pretty damn powerful. Anyway, Yuri
will interrupt the fight, earning a rebuff from the victim of the laser beam
saying that he could have won.

Now, fly around to the other ??? near Zante, or just cycle around the two, and
you will find Celina again. Yuri will hail her ship, but he will earn no
reply. However, Nia will call out Celina, pretty much insulting her, and she
will recognise her and listen. She boards your ship, and agrees to be arrested
by Sector Security to end in Skantzoura, the prison planet. She leaves the
command of her ship to Nikatas, who is her second in command.

It is interesting that she wants to go to Skantzoura, seeing that that is
where Kreios is being held. What is she up to? Anyway, again, it is back to
Veroia.

 - Veroia -

When you land on Veroia, you will end up talking to Pappas, and pretty much
Celina agrees to head onto the prison planet of Skantzoura. Anyway, Nia will
say that she wants to follow her, and if you say that she CAN'T DO THAT!, then
you will get a boost to your leadership skills, of 20 experience points.
Either way, Nia will join Celina on little trip to the prison planet of
Skantzoura, and Ensign Pappas will be there as well, giving 24 hour reports
on the situation.

A new ??? area is now unlocked that is northwest of Heraklion, and head there
to witness the Oort Interception System, it is basically the defence system
that isolates the prison planet from everything else that is in the sector, it
will destroy everything, and strangely enough, it was designed by Rhea's
boyfriend. Whoops.

With this, you will meet the Warden, who seems very suspicious given the way
that he is acting, and you will see what happens in prison, Celina has a
little trick up her sleeve and manages to escape her cell, but again, back
to Veroia.

Lieutenant Commander Ioannov will tell you that something is wrong, in the
past few days (I wonder about the timescale of travelling between planets in
this game), Ensign Pappas hasn't reported in at all, which is very strange.
Now, you need to fly around a few times and dock a few times, and sooner or
later, you will get a scene with Ian, so meet with him at the Tavern.

 - To Capture a Pirate -

Ian will say that there is a means of finding out how the Kreios pirates are
so damn strong. He says that maybe you should capture a pirate boss, to find
out how they are strong and how the pirates grow in strength despite their
leader being captured and sent to prison.

Now, you will need to move into Melee for this, but you will not be able to
succeed with normal pirate patrols that you randomly encounter. Rather, head
to Zante, and in the ??? area around it, there will be an encounter with a
5 ship fleet, armed with 3 crusiers and 2 destroyers. Now, what you really
want to do is enter the Melee. If you have both the HELP droid and Loukas
on your crew, you can put them both in combat, and you can easily taken the
entire fleet on in melee. Otherwise, whittle down the enemy and capture the
lead ship. Either way, capture it and you will encounter the pirate boss
Terzi.

He refuses to talk, but the removal of a few limbs will convince him
otherwise, so he talks, saying that orders come from Skantzoura, their
orders are actually come from the prison planet, so take this clown to the
Security Agency at Veroia.

 - Veroia, AGAIN!?! -

Now, at Veroia, Lieutenant Commander Ioannov will agree that Skantzoura will
need to be looked at in detail, given the new information. He will mobilise
the 3rd and 9th Divisions of Sector Security, as well as a strike team, but
unfortunately, you will need to take on the Oort Interception System, given
that there isn't any time to clear it from the Justice Administration, given
that they command this system. Also, he gives you access to fighters and
anti-air defences, and you will need this, since enemy carriers are involved.
Stock up on your ships, and build fighters on your own ships (such as the
Eudora, which has a catapult), either way, carry fighters or pack some Anti-
Air weaponry for the mission ahead.

 - Invading Skantzoura -

When you are ready, talk to Ioannov and lets head out to face the Oort
Interception System. When you encounter the system, the decoys launched by
the ships will work, but damage will be sustained by ships, including some
heavily damaged, but still, you will need to fight through. When nearing
Skantzoura, you will have a fight with your first carrier.

You will encounter 2 destroyers, 2 cruisers and a carrier. The thing to note
about fighters launched by carriers is that when the fighter attacks, it may
not damage your ship too badly, but your ship cannot move at all, which makes
you a sitting duck, and thus, you will want to remove enemy fighters as
quickly as possible.

First, quickly eliminate your biggest concern, the 2 destroyers, and move
your fleet back, and set either your anti-air on, or send your fighters out
when the enemy sends out their fighters. Destroy the enemy fighter, or send
them packing, and defeat the enemy fleet to land on skantzoura.

Now that you are here, you will need to get your units ready for melee. First
off, you will want to invade the Prison's West wing, or the women's prison.
Once there, you will be facing some guards, a force of 700 but a weak command
of 15, which means that superior numbers and someone assigned to the security
post will easily wipe the floor with these guards. However, at the end of it,
there is no sign of Nia.

Time to clear the East Wing of the prison, which houses the men, and thinks.
Again, there are 700 people as a force, but their combat is weak again, at 15,
so it is pretty easy to wipe the floor with them. However, this time, you will
find something, you will find Leo, Rhea's boyfriend, who is doing research
here, and after being slapped around by his girl, he joins your crew.

Proceed to the 4th floor, again, a force of 700 will fight you and you will be
able to defeat them, and this time, you will find Ensign Pappas here, who
tells you the secret, Warden Glaucus is in bed with the pirates, like the
Lutsk Base Commander was. Time to visit the administration building.

There is no one there, but visit the observation room, and that will give you
the information that there is a secret passage in the Warden's office. Follow
the passage to find a skeleton, the remains of old Kreios. Nia and Celina will
be there to greet you, telling you that Kreios has been dead for a long time,
he was starved to death. Warden Glaucus has become Kreios, commanding the
pirates to do his bidding.

Head to the Prison's West Wing to see Glaucus escape, along the starlane to
the Spider's Web, with the rest of the pirates he now controls. Save here, and
head to the starlane towards the Spider's Web.

 - Ending the Pirates -

At the ??? junction, Celina will show you her secret base, a mobile asteroid
that is her base, the Cocoon. She will say that she no longer needs it, and
she has a use for it, she will crash it into the pirate base at the Spider's
Web. Now, head there, and after 2 fights with pirate ships, in which you can
go back to Skantzoura to repair if need be, you will arrive at the Spider's
Web, the base of operations of the Kreios pirates.

Now, the asteroid that Celina sends in will pretty much wipe out the base, but
the remains of the pirates still remain, and the remains of the Warden's fleet
will consist of 4 cruisers and a carrier, and you will need to fight him.
Ensign Pappas will tell you not to kill him, but you cannot board his ship, so
you will need to duke it out somewhat.

Basically, destroy the cruisers, and then target the carrier, and after it has
taken enough damage, it will surrender and that will be that, the end of the
battle, and pretty much most of the pirates. And with the pirates out of the
way, everyone will go off on their own ways.

Now, finally, back to Veroia for the final time, Ensign Delis will be there,
telling you that Lieutenant Commander Ioannov and Ensigh Pappas has been taken
into an inquiry for taking matters into his own hands. For this, you will
get the blueprints for the Volos Cruiser and the Selene Destroyer, as well as
5,000G.

He will also tell you what they have learnt from the Warden, it turns out that
he was trafficking people and prisoners to Cadmus, the feudal lord of the
Dominon of Spetses. Now, head into a Tavern and talk to Leo, who will give you
the blueprints for the AA Con Room 2.

Finally, for the final touch, head to Mytilene, and examine the walls, hill
and floor here in the Ruins, and the sample of the scene will show that there
was indeed an Epitaph near the dead gate, but for this, we need to head to
the Ludoviko Tani observatory, which is in Tineo, the capital of Nova Nacio,
and this marks the end of the 4th chapter.

[3.01] Elgava/Ropesk

This is going to be a list of all the sectors in the game, as well as the
planets and stations that are in the respective areas, in those sectors.
If you think about it, Elgava sounds a lot like Russia, and resembles Russia,
particularly the Soviet Union or USSR, as many nations form together a big
nation, but the core being Central Elgava, or Russia, whereas Lutsk and Ropesk
are countries such as Ukraine. Also, the characters are common names in
Russia, such as Yuri and Oleg. As the David Letterman fun facts, Elgava is
the name of a town in Latvia, a former nation in the USSR.

that you will need to head over to Zvenigorod's Hospital to purchase for the
small price of 150G. When you give the medicine to the man, he cannot pay
you in gold, but he does work for a little secret military company that
designs ships for the Elgavan forces, and as a result, you get 2 new ship
blueprints.

 Reward - Novik Ship Blueprints
          Gnevny Ship Blueprints

 - Medic Organisation -

When - After defeating the pirates on Medyn
From - Medic Organisation on Nerekhta

When you enter the Medic Organisation, you will see the people who saved
Yuri when he was injured, Feodor and his daughter Larissa. They will both be
on their way to Ruza, and then re-enter the Medic Organisation building, and
you will see two employees talking, who don't seem to be too happy about
Feodor heading there. Now, fly to Ruza.

On the way to the Void Gate, it seems that a medic ship working near Ruza
was attacked by pirates. We need to get to Ruza fast. Into the void gate and
into the are of Lutsk B. Head into Ruza, and you will see the remains of the
ship, which is amazing that they managed to get into port.

With this, head into the Tavern, and you will recruit both Feodor and his
daughter, which is a bonus to your team. Feodor is pretty good in medicine
and so is his daughter.

 - Research Issues -

When - Start of Chapter 3 in Ostrog Tavern
 From - Tavern

The Tavern has an interesting request, you will need to deliver a rock
fragment to the Science Lab in Alatyr. So fly there, it isn't hard, and enter
the science lab to talk to Nadja, who will say that the rock you have given
is pretty much useless, and she needs you to head to Buzhsk, and find a rock
for here there, some benocyte, and you get a probe to find it.

When you head to Buzhsk, you are looking for the rock with the magnetic
field, the others won't yield anything at all. With that in mind, head to
Alatyr and she will join you on the road to Ostrog. When you enter the
Tavern, the client tries to kill her, but fails, and when that in mind, she
will ask to join your crew, so accept, and put her in a science position,
given that that is her strength. When that, you get your reward, and then
fly back to Alatyr for a little bonus of the Analysis Room.

Reward - Nadja Joins your Crew
          400G
          Analysis Room, Level 1 Blueprints

 - Salvage Master -

When - After defeating the pirates on Medyn
 From - Tavern on Zarub

Well, apparently a ship has gone missing, and you are sent to collect the
ship from wherever it is. It is currently missing between the tradelines of
Ostrog and the ??? sectors, so you might need to start at Ostrog and travel
back and forth between the ??? sectors a few times in order to find it.

When you find it, back to Zarub you go, and you get a fat paycheck to boot,
which isn't that bad.

 Reward - 1,100G

[4.04] Chapter 4 Sidequests

 - Delivery Boy -

When - After entering the Spider Web for the first time and finish the
        Jezelmite Mining, Part 2 mission.
 From - Tavern in Volos

A standard mission, as a delivery mission anyway. Your job is to deliver a
trunk and whatever is inside it to Nerekhta, all the way in Central Elgava.
This is a problem if you don't have Nia in your crew, due to the story
because Yuri will refuse to leave Kalymnos without Nia in the crew, but when
she is in the crew, you will be able to complete this mission, head to
Nerekhta and deliver the package for your tidy reward.

 Reward - 1,200G

 - Jezelmite Mining, Part 1 -

When - Start of Chapter 4
 From - Tavern in Chios

This is a pretty standard mission, all you need to do is to head to the Tavern
in Chios, and from there, take up this mission, where you need to head to
Dodecanese and to the Jezelmite mine there. Whilst you are there, you will
meet Loukas, the site supervisor, and perform a lot of manual labour, which
doesn't really effect you, except for some nice dialogue. When that, you get
some nice pocket change.

 Reward - 500G

 - Jezelmite Mining, Part 2 -

When - After Jezelmite Mining, Part 1
 From - Tavern from Volos

Another mission, it is the same type, you need to perform some manual labour.
The reason is that Jezelmite is pretty delicate with some magnetic properties
of some sort, and that is why machinery can't be used. Again, you will meet
Loukas, and this time, you will need to head to Zante, rather than Dodecanese.
When you finish the job, but you will get a little bonus.

 Reward - 500G
100G from Loukas as a Bonus

This is an important side note, when you complete both mining missions, you
can enter a tavern, any tavern, I used Chios, and you will see Loukas. He will
tell you that there are ups and downs in industry in Kalymnos, but this time,
he thinks that there will be a down for a while, so he joins your crew, and
he is quite useful in combat.

Reward - Loukas joins your crew

[5.01] Ship Blueprints

This is the section where blueprints are listed, giving off stats of ships
and where you can purchase the blueprints. I will list the earliest place you
can get the blueprints.

To understand the chart, it is simple. Weapon slots are the amount of weapons
your ship can hold, as well as the size of the weapons, which will then be
dependent on weapon stats. Hangars are the homes to fighters, which will cost
action points to launch, but useful later in the game. Crew Required is the
amount of crew needed to fully function the ship, you need this many people.

Now, onto the specifics. Anti-Air is how good your ship is at fighting off
enemy fighters, and Anti-Ship is how good the ship is at fighting off enemy
ships. Cruise speed is how quickly your ship can travel in starlanes, and the
battle speed is how quick it moves in battle. Obviously, the quicker, the
better.

Mobility is how well your ship can dodge and evade enemy fire, although this
is before calculations on your dodge and non-dodge abilities come into play.
Armour is how much damage is reduced by when it is attacked successfully by
enemy weapons, and durability is pretty much the amount of hit points your
ship has. Clearly, the more the better.

Attack range is the maximum targeting distance of your ship, you can only
hit units within your attack range. Livability is how well your crew can
live on the ship, which effects the rate fatigue increases on travel which
impacts on the battle gauge in battle. Finally, fighters is the amount of
fighters a ship can handle.

A further note on weapon slots, if it is mentioned Free, that means you can
change that weapon at will, however, if I list a weapon there, most commonly
a weak weapon, it means it is fixed, and cannot be changed.

A quick note about the classes, there are basically Battleships, Cruisers,
Carriers and Destroyers. Battleships are the tanks, they will take the most
damage, and dish out the most damage, but are slow, and take a while to build
up command points. Cruisers are there to shoot down fighters, and as a result,
not good to fight enemy ships, and relatively average on command points.
Carriers are there to launch fighters, and as such, do not carry many weapons
and medium in terms of command points. Destroyers are ship hunters, and are
quick in battle, and building command points quickly, but cannot take too much
enemy fire.

[5.02] Modules

Now, the Modules are going to be the things you equip on the ship. They will
have their costs and what type do, and their size. For the ones that are
required in blueprints, I will list where you can get them first, and how
much the blueprints cost. When the cost is listed, the cheapest cost is only
10X the cost on blueprints, which is the cost for destroyers. However, when
you play with Cruisers, the cost is 2X the cost listed, Battleships is 3X.
However, for some of the modules, the effect is moderated by cost, so Cruisers
will have to pay 2X more, they will have 2X the cargo hold, 2X the crew held,
etc. For battleships, it is 3X, so keep that in mind.

[5.03] Weapons

There are a variety of weapons throughout the game, so for the most basic
understanding, please read the manual. This guide isn't meant to be an
overglorified manual.

Basically, firepower is the amount of damage it will do in a single shot,
the multiplier is the amount of shots in a single, normal attack. Accuracy
is your percentage chance of hitting an enemy target with this weapon. The
Maximum Range will be the how far away you can be to successfully fire the
weapon, and conversely, Minimum Range is how close you can be to fire the
weapon.

Now, the type. Lasers are the only odd ones out, their power can be boosted
by your amplifiers on your ships, and they can be weakened by enemy Shield
Generators on their ships. Solid Ammo and Plasma weapons will have no positive
or negative effects.

Fire types are simple, they come in multiple and single attacks. Single attack
means that a weapon can only fire on one target, whereas Multiple attack can
fire on all enemy ships in their fleet.

As for the rankings of Large, Medium and Small, these correspond to the
weapon slots on ships, some will have slots for large weapons, some for medium
and others for small.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

E-Mail Me, and for the love of all that isn't sacred, make sure that the title
of the game is smacked into place. IF THERE IS NO TITLE ON THE MESSAGE, IT
WILL NOT BE READ, AND PROMPTLY DELETED. Also, email with courtesy. If you just
hurl abuse, I will promptly hurl more abuse back, and save it so the entire
world can abuse you and see your stupidity.

When you write the Email, you have to do so in English, and English only. No
foreign languages allowed, Chinese, French, Spanish, Antarctic Penguin and so
forth, mainly because I won't be able to understand it.

There will be absolutely NO INTERNET SPEAK IN ANY EMAILS. Seriously, I will
not read emails full of lols, rofls or the like. No lazy English either. I
won't read crap like "Hw Tis in Gme" because it is lazy and inconsiderate. But
that doesn't mean you send me a business letter detailing what information you
want to know either.

Finally, if you see that there is something wrong in this FAQ, or something
that you think should be included in it, please send it in, the worse you can
do is to have it rejected, but if I think it is a good addition, I'll add it
with the next update as well as give you credit for the addition. Corrections
are always welcome.

I will also NOT RESPOND to the following:

 * Phishing Sites
 * Attempted Scams
 * Mass Spamming
 * Forward Messages
 * Advertising
 * Technical Issues
 * Illegal Activities
 * Unrelated Emails to the Game
 * Emails about Another Game

All problems with technical issues to do with the gameplay such as bugs and
glitches should be sent to the developer or publisher, or look for fixes or
ways to avoid it. All technical issues with hardware should be sent to the
manufacturer of the piece of hardware in question.

The secret email address is:

hillsdragon13 [at] [ho.tm.ail] [dot] [co.m]

Now, the legend:

[at]        = @
[ho.tm.ail] = Remove the .'s
[dot]       = .
[co.m]      = Remove the .'s

If you feel generous, you can send money via Paypal to that address. It is
completely optional, but I'm curious to see how much I can milk, I mean make
out of this. All donations are appreciated, seeing I have to pay for the
game this guide is for, and that does cost money, more since I'm faced with
the outrageous prices found in Australia.

It may be a pain in the ass, but most smart people could figure out the real
email address. The problem is that people would normally Ctrl+F to find the
email address without reading the relevant guidelines, as well spamming sites
which always find their way to my inbox.

Also, do not add me to your MSN, Yahoo or any other instant messaging system
because you will be blocked and deleted permanently. Also, I will not accept
invites to be your Facebook friend, or join any other social networking site
because all invites will be rejected.

[C] Webmaster Information

This is where all the sites that this guide can appear on are listed. If the
site name is not on this list, that means that either they are accepted by
me but not listed, due to logistical reasons (this is the same copyright
section as all the other guides, and no point listing a Civ 4 site on a Sims
game), or they are not allowed outright.

Anyway, POINT OUT ALL SITES NOT LISTED HERE. It will be up to me what site is
allowed or disallowed.

www.GameFAQs.com <Master Copy>
www.NeoSeeker.com
www.SuperCheats.com

NeoSeeker and SuperCheats will have the guides a full day after it appears on
GameFAQs. This is because those two sites grab any new update from me from
GameFAQs itself, so if you are itching for the newest version, please check
www.GameFAQs.com first.

It will NEVER BE ALLOWED TO APPEAR ON

www.cheatcc.com

Why? Because they stole some of my works before, and I will not forget that.
No amount of goodwill will be able to repair what you have done.
