I am Colt.45Magnum and I'll be your host till you read this guide (actually the host is GameFAQs, Neoseeker and Super Cheats, but...). Anyway, enough of my jabbering, welcome to my guide for Inazuma Eleven 2: Firestorm and Blizzard. This guide's purpose is to be a guide for you for this game in every possible aspect. This guide covers the game's story as well as the side quests and all of the features of the game. So, let's get this show on the field, shall we? Also, for the record, I've also written a guide for this game's predecessor. And, as a last note, I'll use the word SOCCER instead of football, in order to avoid conflict with the countries which don't call this sport football. ----- ----- | /=====================================================================\ | | /__ ----------------------------------------------------------------- __\ | | /____ ____\ | |/| // __/ Copyright and Contact Info \__ \\ |\| |// /_ (CaC) _\ \\| |/ __/ \__ \| / /__ --------------------------------------------------------------- __\ \ /____/=================================================================\____\ This guide is the whole and sole property of colt.45magnum aka Rahul Yadav and is guaranteed his rights by DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act). Mark's team has just won the Soccer Frontier and is living up their dream. Everything seems perfect, but not for long. A black coloured meteor strikes down Raimon, Mark's school, and wrecks havoc to it. The culprit is none other than a soccer team, and that too of extra-terrestrials. Now it's up to Mark and the gang to build up a soccer team which is best in the whole world by travelling across the country and teaming up with best of the players. But there is something which is more than what meets the eye. This game is a soccer RPG, just like its predecessor. This means, you've to play matches as well as do the usual RPG stuff to beat this game's story mode. Therefore, the gameplay has two parts; RPG and soccer. RPG Part: You get to roam around, play mini soccer battles, interact with people, collect items and so on, just the usual RPG stuff. The controls and mechanics of this part are quite simple and can be easily mastered, whether you've played a RPG title or not. Soccer Part: Now comes the main part of the whole game, soccer. Your goal (oh no, I'm not gonna crack the same joke twice) is to defeat the Alius Academy. For this, you've to play matches against them and win. This is the only part where you can get any real trouble, so the guide will concentrate more on getting through this part. ----- ----- | /=====================================================================\ | | /__ ----------------------------------------------------------------- __\ | | /____ ____\ | |/| // __/ The Basics Of Inazuma \__ \\ |\| |// /_ (BoI) _\ \\| |/ __/ \__ \| / /__ --------------------------------------------------------------- __\ \ /____/=================================================================\____\ This section describes about some of the basics of the game, which are carried over from the previous game. So, here they are: ____ | /======================O | /_Matches And Battles~~ |/| /======================O |/ Before we start, here's a quick and brief run-down of the difference between a match and a battle: Matches are full length matches which are played against a team of 11 players. It consists of two halves and has only one way to win; score a higher number of goals than the opponent. They are only available through certain peoples or storyline events. Battles, on the other hand, are matches which are played against a team of 4 players. These battles are of length of 1/4th of the real match and have various criteria to win. They can be initialized anywhere outside by walking around. Before we proceed, however, please note that the following section is copied from the my previous guide, so if you've read this stuff before, then feel free to skip to the New Features section. And now, here is the stuff for which this section is intended: |===============| |Special Moves| |===============| At the start of Chapter 1, you unlock the ability to use some really cool looking moves aka Special Moves for every type of work you do, and it's an essential part of the game. It's done by clicking on the lightning icon in the middle of the menu (which pops out when you are in a duel) and selecting the move which you desire. The move you choose determine whether you succeed or not. This success rate is greatly determined by the element of the player and the move itself, which is explained a little further down. Each player has four special moves which he learns while playing through the story or by leveling up. In addition to this, each of them has two additional slots which can be filled in with the moves of your choice. This means you can teach a move to a player who does not have a move of that genre. For instance, a player who is deficient of a defense move can learn a defense move, which greatly increases its efficiency. Prefer a move which matches the player's element for best results. |===========| |TP and FP| |===========| TP and FP are the two health bar equivalents of the game. TP means Technique Points and is used in a battle for the usage of special moves. If it gets low enough, you won't be able to use special moves. FP stands for Fitness Points and is the measure of the player's fitness. If it is low, then the player will move slowly, miss the passes a lot, get pinned down easily etc. In short, you have to be fit every time so that you can do best in a match. You can refill your team's TP and FP either by using edibles (the VERY long and costly way) or by Rejuvenation Points (which cost a little Prestige Points). |==========| |Elements| |==========| Element refers to the kind of player. In this game, there are four kinds- Fire, Wood, Air, Earth. The elements are a key factor which determines the success of a player or a move, as each element is stronger against one element and weaker against other. For instance, fire beats wood, wood beats air, air beats earth and earth beats fire. This means a fire type player (like Axel) has a better chance of succeeding against a wood type player (like Kevin) but he has a lower chance of succeeding against an earth type player (like Mark). The left out element (if continuing the previous example, wind type) has no effect on that particular element (fire type from the previous example). In that case, the win is decided by the form. |======| |Form| |======| The form is a numerical value, the greater the form, the greater the chances of winning a duel. This, when combined with elements give good results, as a player with form lower than the opponent can win if his element is higher and a player with a lower type element can win the duel if he has a considerably high form. |=======| |Stats| |=======| Each player has 7 stats which represents his strength and weaknesses. A low stat means that the selected player is weaker in that section and work is needed to improve that player in that area. Although if a specific stat is raised too much, other stats of the player starts to drop, so be cautious while training a player. The stats and their descriptions are as follows- Kick Determines the power of kick of the player. Higher the kick, higher the chances of scoring goal. Body Not really sure about it. Control Determines the control of the player on the ball. The higher it is, the higher the chances are of keeping the ball under possession after a successful duel. Guard Determines the defensive skill of a player. The higher it is, the higher the chances of defending the ball from an opponent. Speed Determines the speed of a player. The higher it is, the easier it is to reach the opponent and perhaps (not sure of it), to win the duels. Stamina Determines the player's capability to last in matches. The higher it is, the longer the player lasts in a match without tiring out. Guts Determines the player's will to take on an opponent. The higher it is, the more likely the player will face the opponent, otherwise he will just cower away. |==========| |Time Out| |==========| During a match or a battle, a small red hand appears on the upper right corner of the touch screen. This is the Time Out button. Press it to pause the match so that you can plan your next move. It's very useful for setting up players for further actions, like positioning players for attacks beforehand. Once used it takes about 10 seconds to be enabled. |==========| |Fired Up| |==========| There's a 'fired up' unlocked at the start of the first match. It does three things: 1. Reduces the cost of TP used to 3/4. 2. Makes the moves stronger. 3. Raises the chance to win the match. It's a good thing to use in a match. But be sure to use it on a right time, as it can only be used once per match and it lasts for about 1/4th of the total match. I'd say you use it when the 2nd half is halfway done, that way it'll be most effective. ____ | /======O | /_RPG~~ |/| /======O |/ Here are the features related to the RPG part of the game: |============| |Recruiting| |============| Kinda like the feature from the Pokmon franchise, you can 'collect' aka recruit a player in your team. This can be done by three methods: scouting, recruiting and connection map. For detailed information on these three, please check the Scouting And Recruiting System section of this guide. |=======| |Shops| |=======| Another useful thing in the Inazuma town is the shops. They are two types of them- Sports Shop and Convenient Store. The first sells soccer kits, which are used to power up certain abilities of the players who wear them or to just look cool. These kits are dealt in a different section called Apparel and Items. The second sells edibles which are used to refill the TP and FP of the team member. This is also dealt in the section Apparel And Items. You can also sell anything from your inventory for some Prestige Points. Good feature if you're in a dire need of some Prestige Points. |===================| |Apparel And Items| |===================| In this game after a certain point, you are able to buy new uniforms and kits for your team from various shops scattered around the Inazuma Town. The uniforms you purchase can be worn through the Info->Team Strip option. These uniforms are just to customize the look of your team. But the other apparels are useful. They include bracelets, boots and gloves (for keeper only). These three items have varied effect on the players. For example, a bracelet raises power of the player and another bracelet increases the guts of the player. You can equip these items from Item->Equipments option. These items prove vital against strong foes and can level the match which you otherwise are losing. Another purchasable available in the game is the edibles. They refill TP and FP of the selected player. Their effects vary from one item to another. The last kind of purchasable available in this game is the special move manuals. These manuals can be used to teach a player a move. There are four colours which indicate the type of move: red for striking move, blue for dribbling move, yellow (I do think it's more like orange, but oh well) for goalkeeping and green for defending. You may also notice that each move has its own element. If taught to the person who has the element same as the move, the move's strength increases. Also, a manual with a grey background is a rare move, which can be only obtained randomly. These moves also vary in strength, which can be seen by the number of lightning bolts on the move. One lightning bolt means low power move, two means medium power and three means high power move. |=======================================| |Prestige Points and Friendship Points| |=======================================| Prestige Points are the currency of this game, which can be earned by winning matches and battles and selling something from your inventory in the shop. These points have a varied use: first, you can use them for recharging your team up through Rejuvenation Points. Second, you can buy items from the shops through Prestige Points and third, you can use them for special training at the Special Training Spot. Friendship Points, unlike Prestige Points are targeted on a specific task; to recruit the players through scouting. Each player requires a specific amount of Friendship Points before you can recruit him to the team. Friendship Points, just like Prestige Points are collected through winning matches and battles. Beware though, you lose both of these points if you lose a match or battle. ----- ----- | /=====================================================================\ | | /__ ----------------------------------------------------------------- __\ | | /____ ____\ | |/| // __/ New Features \__ \\ |\| |// /_ (NFt) _\ \\| |/ __/ \__ \| / /__ --------------------------------------------------------------- __\ \ /____/=================================================================\____\ Since like eternity, every sequel aims to have newer features than its predece- ssors, and Inazuma Eleven 2 is no exception. This game comes with lots of new features, each of which are discussed in this section. Please note that I haven't gone deeply into the matches' mechanics, since I already wrote about them in the previous guide, and it would be tiresome to write it down all over again for me. Besides, the things which have changed are covered right here and nothing in the core gameplay has changed, so don't worry about that. Plus, the only one playing this game will be the one who've played the previous game... most likely. ____ | /======================O | /_Matches And Battles~~ |/| /======================O |/ In this subsection, I'll describe some of the new features related to soccer playing. Now, as for the changes in them, here are they: |============| |Shot Scope| |============| First up in the changes section is the shot scope. When you take a shot, either normally or by S icon, a blue cone is shown. This is the shot scope; which shows the area under which the shot can land. Use this to your advantage, since you can predict your shot's accuracy by looking at the player's angle to the goal and the shot scope. Then you can change the cursor which directs the direction of the shot for a perfect hit... well, almost perfect anyway. |============| |The S Icon| |============| The best, in my opinion, addition in the whole game is the S icon, which is located just below the time out icon. When used, this allows the player to take shots from anywhere of the field. This means you can take a shot all the way from the goal to the opponent's goal. This, when used in tandem with the special moves for long distance and a drained out goalkeeper will yield extraordinary results. This means, if you use this icon with a player who has a long distance shot, like Patriot Shot, Rainbow Arc, Tsunami Boost etc. then you can take a shot from virtually anywhere. Plus, if you drain the opponent goalie with some quick attack, then you're virtually unstoppable. This technique has two little drawbacks, however. First, it can be a little off the mark sometimes if you take the shot from the side. The solution is simple; try to take the shot from the centre of the field and before taking the shot, make sure that the shot is going to hit the goal by checking the goal with +Control pad. The second problem is this; if an opponent defender has a move which can be used to block a shot, then it may reduce the power of your shot or maybe even stop it altogether. So, make sure that no one has those kinds of move or at least the guy with the move is not in the way. If he's in the way, the shot scope will turn red, otherwise it will be blue. Use this technique when in a dire need of a goal or when you're aiming for a S rank in Extra/Premium Competition Routes, in conjunction with the TP draining technique on goalie. Now after all the S icon discussion, it's time to see... |===============| |Shot Blocking| |===============| In my opinion, it's more like a counter measure against the S icon, but it has its purpose. If a player has a specific move set, like The Wall, Fire Tornado, Volcano/Spinning Cut etc., then he can stop an incoming shot, provided the player is in the way of the shot. When in the range of blocking the shot, the shot scope will turn red. This technique has two effects, it can either stop the shot completely or it can lower the power of the shot, making it more probable to block a seemingly unstoppable shot. If the shot's power is lowered, then the goalkeeper is presented with a choice to act by choosing a move to stop the shot, which adds to the flexibility of the team's defense. Also, if the shot is taken from the penalty area (i.e. a normal shot) and a defender comes in the way, then too he can act by defending, but after letting the goalkeeper choose his line of action. |==========================| |Developing Special Moves| |==========================| A feature which opted to change the playing style of many of the TP conservators (including me), this feature allows to make a move more powerful by excessive usage of the move. In other words, the more you use the same move, the more powerful it will become. There are two kinds of moves and two types of leveling up according to the type of the moves. The first type of moves are normal moves, which level up by level 1 and level 2. The second type of moves are the Mega moves, which level up by L1, L2, L3, L4 and finally L5. These moves take twice the time to go up one level. This means, if it took 10 uses to evolve a move to level 1, then it will take around 20 uses to evolve the move to level 2. Also, the evolution depends on the TP of the move and the frequency of the usage of move. The more the both of them are, the faster the move evolves. The only Mega moves I currently know are Fireball Storm, Legendary Wolf, Death Zone 2, Fist Of Justice, Mugen The Hand, God Break, Emperor Penguin No. 1, Beast Fang and Infinite Wall. Funnily enough, they are no defense or dribbling mega moves. |============| |Alter Egos| |============| Some players, after chapter 3 have two types of personalities, usually in the sense of positions. These alternate personalities are called alter egos. This allows a player to play two positions in a single match without worrying about adjusting the said player in that position by using move manuals. For example, there's a goalie which you can also use as a striker. Same goes for two defenders, which doubles as strikers as well. This feature will come in handy for two premium competition route matches. |========| |Skills| |========| Another addition to the game is skill. It takes up a slot in the move list, just like a normal move. But instead of doing anything in actual; it does a little bit different job. A skill boosts a specific power, mostly based on stats or luck. They are quite a lot of them and each has a different effect, so it's best to teach a skill to a player who has a use for them, like teach Defense Plus to a defender or goalie etc. ____ | /======O | /_RPG~~ |/| /======O |/ The RPG part hasn't changed much from the previous game. However, there is one change which is surpasses every other change till now. While you play through the soccer battles/matches, the whole team evolves. This means, a part of the total experience earned is distributed among the players who weren't present in the playing eleven or bench five. This makes training all of your players much easier. |================| |Old Pin Badges| |================| A new collect type feature, this can be accessed after chapter 3. At the shopping area of Tokyo, there is a shop called Raijin Models (which was part of the story in the previous game, during Brainwashing chapter). If you have old pin badges and you talk to the owner there, he'll take your badges and give you something in exchange. Here's the list of all the things which he gives as a reward. |=====================================| |5 Badges | Baby Dragon move manual | |10 Badges| Study move manual | |20 Badges| | |==========| |New Shop| |==========| In this game, the shop's numbers have been increased from two to three. A blue icon shop is a kits shop, known in this game as Kool Kits. A purple icon shows a move manual shop, known as Magic Moves. Lastly, the orange icon represents an items shop, known as G-Mart. In the first shop, you can buy kits and other accessories for your team. The second type of shop offers move manuals, which you can teach to your team mates. And the third one sells all kinds of edibles, used to refill TP and FP. ----- ----- | /=====================================================================\ | | /__ ----------------------------------------------------------------- __\ | | /____ ____\ | |/| // __/ Soccer Tricks \__ \\ |\| |// /_ (STr) _\ \\| |/ __/ \__ \| / /__ --------------------------------------------------------------- __\ \ /____/=================================================================\____\ In this section, I'll describe some of the tactics which I use while playing. They are not necessarily perfect and may not suit you, but they may give a hint on the style of playing the matches. You can send your own strategies if you want to, I'll include them if they are good. |===========================| |Drawing In, Spreading Out| |===========================| This strategy is best used during your own kickoff, but you can use it during dribbling as well. After you initially pass the ball, pass it back to the midfielders and let them keep it till the opponents' player start to come towards you, then slowly keep passing the ball forward, all the while keeping the same pattern of drawing the opponent near you. Meanwhile, keep your own strikers going to the spots previously occupied by those opponent players. Use this in conjugation of the centering technique (described below) for maximum efficiency. |===========| |Centering| |===========| One of my most used tactic (and perhaps of many of the soccer teams in the world), it's best used when you're using a side oriented formation like Butterfly or Phoenix. This strategy involves getting the ball to a team mate, who's standing at the side and get past the initial defenders through him, all the while getting another player to back him up. Then finally pass the ball in or around the penalty area, to be picked by your striker, who'll take the shot. This strategy works best against formations which involves more emphasis on centre, like Infinite Wall or Midfield Block. This strategy also works against teams which have their defenses spread outside of the penalty area, like teams with Super Star 5 formation or Epsilon. |====================| |Countering Offside| |====================| Okay, I said centering is one of the most efficient ways to counter Super Star 5 formation. But, it has a problem. The defenders are spread out too far from each other, so a centering can also mean an offside. Combining this with the fact that this game's offside mechanism is sometimes a little too unreal, makes this formation a pain in the nape to deal with. So, what's the solution? Use centering, but instead of passing at the penalty area, keep going forward. Meanwhile, get a striker near the penalty circle (remember, time out is your best friend). Once you do that, back pass (attention: back pass, not side or front pass) to that striker and take a shot. Back passing allows you to eliminate the risks of getting offside and gives you a superior position to shoot. |======================| |Exploiting The Fouls| |======================| This strategy is devised by me and my brother. There are times when you do a foul and the other team gets a free kick. You can exploit this opportunity for yourself. If the free kick is taken from the opponent's penalty area, then do this. When you're given the choice to position your players, surround each and every player in the opponent area with two players of your own (except the player who is going to take the shot) and keep one player in the center of the area. This makes sure that you get the ball away from the defenders who get the ball as soon as they get them. Also, a man in the center ensures ball possession in case the goalkeeper passes the ball directly to the midfielders, as he usually does so by passing the ball in the middle. Do the same when the free kick is taken from outside of the penalty area, but place a player near the goalkeeper, so you get the ball back passed to the goalkeeper. You have to be quick in order to get the shot, otherwise the goalkeeper will get the better of you (and the ball). The same tactics apply to the throw in. But, when the free kick is taken near your goal, gather all the defenders and midfielders near the goal and man mark each of the player near the goal (again, except the one who's taking the shot). This ensures maximum safety for your goal. Also, place a striker or two up front to get the ball away from their defenders. |========================| |Getting Easy Penalties| |========================| This strategy was devised by my brother. There are quite a lot of goalkeepers who have defense moves. But for some wierd reason, whenever they do so, mostly a foul happens. And when this happens in the penalty area, you get a penalty shot i.e., an easy way to get a goal. So, whenever you see a goalkeeper with a defense move, just barge into him and force him to use his move, either by using your own dribbling move, or just by luck. And since the goalkeeper's move almost always succeed, you'll get a penalty, around 80 percent of the time. As for the penalties, shoot in the middle, the goalkeepers tend to jump sideways more. |=========================================| |Raising The Probability To Get The Goal| |=========================================| Apart from using really strong shots to steamroll the opponent's goalkeeper, there are other techniques which can raise the probability to gain a goal. Some of them are described below: 1. Try a 2-top formation and get both of your strikers in the opponent's penalty area, with one of the strikers having the ball and keeping each of them at the sides. Let the goalkeeper come towards you and then pass the ball to the other striker at the side. This gives you a open goal to feast on. Be careful though, don't do the final pass forward, try to keep it horizontal or a little downwards to avoid those offside. This strategy is quite hard, I know, but it's one of the best ways to get a goal if done right. 2. Drain the goalkeeper out by using normal shoots and chip shots, all the while covering the penalty area and getting the ball away from the opposite defenders. Once the goalkeeper is drained, he'll be at your mercy. 3. As an extension to the above strategy, use a long shot against a drained out goalkeeper. |================================| |Appropriately Using Long Shots| |================================| The best time to use a long shot is when (1) the player taking the shot is at least at the midline; (2) the goalkeeper is drained out of his TP and (3) there are no defenders who can use long shot blocking defense moves in the way. It's hard to get the third condition fulfilled, so the best thing is to take the shot as close to the goal as possible and from the centre to get the maximum accuracy. ----- ----- | /=====================================================================\ | | /__ ----------------------------------------------------------------- __\ | | /____ ____\ | |/| // __/ Main Walkthrough \__ \\ |\| |// /_ (MWt) _\ \\| |/ __/ \__ \| / /__ --------------------------------------------------------------- __\ \ /____/=================================================================\____\ All right folks, this is it, the main part has arrived! After a few steps, a kid will come and explain you the basics of the game (see the old man's reaction after the "horse's mouth"). After the dialogue, talk to the old man if you want, he'll tell you the basics of the HUD and walking. Also, if you don't talk to the old man, you've to set the camera back with L/R buttons. Now head to the flag icon and talk to any one of the guys to initiate a cutscene. After the info on match controls, you get to select your team up with the Menu option. Change the formation if you like and then start the match with the Start button (duh). Beat the match and watch the ensuing cutscene (funny one IMO). After the scene, you've to go to the clubroom to investigate. Go to the lower left corner of the area and open the chests there for Rice Ball and Milk. Now go to the upper right corner and take the Mineral Water near the green haired boy. Now climb up the stairs near the boy and grab the Cookie Bar at the left of the main door of the school. Now head to the next area. In this area, go to the soccer clubroom (where everyone was gathered earlier in the cutscene) and press A at the pile of rubble at the right of the clubroom. A path will be revealed, where you have to go. But, before going there, go to the left and take the Milk which is beside a ruined building. Now head down and go down the stairs. Hang a left and take the Fresh Boots. Now go down and turn right when you hit the wall. Follow the path till you hit the wall again and take the Rice Ball from the chest there. Now go up, then right, then up and take the Cookie Bar from the chest there (I'm sounding more and more like a tourist guide now). Now head into the hole you made earlier. Walk until the end of the corridor and talk to the man standing there. After the frisking, head inside the room. After the scene, you've to go to Umbrella Junior High. You've unlocked two things in the process of watching this scene; first, you can now have soccer battles throughout the area and second, you can now read Silvia's blog for hints related to current objectives. Soccer battles can be initiated anywhere in the outside area at random, by walking around. The blog can be read by going to the Menu-->Info-->Blog. After all this talk, it's time to move on to the story. Get out and go to the divider. As soon as you reach there, you're challenged for a soccer battle. Win it and go across the divider and to the front gate and then to Umbrella Junior High. Also, fix back the camera with L/R buttons. ____ | /====================O | /_Umbrella Jr. High~~ |/| /====================O |/ Task: Go to Umbrella Jr. High! After the VS. screen, you can change the team's formation by using Info button. Choose any formation you want and hit OK. Then hit next to see the rival team's formation, moves and levels, the latter of the three accessible by the Info button. After checking everything out, hit next to start the match by Start button. Try to keep up with Gemini if you want, although it'll be a tad useless. After 15 minutes of the 1st half, a cutscene ensues. After that, you'll be asked to add a player to the team. Do so and start the 2nd half. After the 2nd half starts, you've an objective to pass the ball to Jude (the guy in the goggles and cape) and use Inazuma Break. Do it if you can, since Axel can steal the ball now from the opponents (although others can't). Pass it to Jude and use Inazuma Break. Alternatively, if an opponent player reaches the goal, you've to use God Hand to stop the shot and then take the shot with Jude (funnily enough, if I remember it right, Jude's pose of taking the ball was quite fishy...). After the ensuing cutscene, the match will end. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o You'll end up in the hospital. Take the Sports Drink at the right of the station and then talk to one of the boys there for a scene. After that, talk to both of them to recruit them to the team. If you get those two in the team, you'll obtain a Moonsault move manual from Silvia. Now head out to Umbrella Jr. High. Note- You can skip these two players entirely and head straight for Umbrella. Also, if you want these two in the team afterwards, you can scout them out with the help of Hillman's scouting system. Just search for the name Erik and Bobby. ____ | /====================O | /_Umbrella Jr. High~~ |/| /====================O |/ Task: Find more team-mates! One to go! Chests: 0 Just go to the 5 guys who are standing in the line and talk to them. Since we need only one member, talk to anyone and get him recruited. In fact, one of the 5 is standing right in front of you. Whatever you do, after you recruit a player, head back to Raimon. Note- You can get all of the players you missed out by the help of Hillman's scouting system. Now head straight ahead and talk to the guy in black, who's in front of the stairs. After the scene, head back to the previous area. Get at the end of first set of stairs and you'll get your ticket to go into the Deer Park... more or less. Head back to that guard and talk to him (or Celia). After the scene (poor guy), head straight to enter the Deer Park. Head straight and take the Sports Drink from the chest in front of the cherry blossom tree. Now go left and take the 120 Prestige Points from the chest which is on that wood structure by the water. Now, head to the right and take the Cookie Bar near the two red roofed shade areas. Now recharge your team up with the Rejuvenation Point if necessary and head on to the next area. Upon entering this area, you'll see two paths (by path I mean the dirt path); one going right and other going left. Take the left path and follow it. Take the Stamina Bar near the deer (wow that rhymes) and keep following the path till you end up back at the starting area. Now head right, following the path. Go left once the path ends and take the Chequered Boots from the right side of the monument. Now head straight to the Deer monument, located at the centre of the area. After the ensuing scene, you play a match against Secret Services. I almost forgot to mention, you should scout out at least three players before you play the match if you want this to be easier. Go to the bus and use the videophone at the left of the bus to scout players. Refer to the Scouting and Recruiting System section of the guide for a detailed rundown of scouting system. ___ ___ | /=====================================================================\ | | /__ Match __\ | | / Raimon VS. Recommended Team Level: 6 HOW IN THE HOLY HECK DID THEY BROUGHT OUT THE GOAL POSTS IN A PARK ALL OF A SUDDEN! That sure is beyond me. Ahem. Anyway, after the tutorial about the Shot Blocking, the match finally gets underway. The team here is pretty weak, and if you've been playing all those soccer battles, you won't be having even a piece of problem. Butterfly formation works quite well against them. Put Axel and Jude in the attack and send Willy off anywhere where you can afford one man less. Don't put Kevin in the attack. Use Axel's Fire Tornado from a distance to score a goal. Beware of Tori though; she's got The Tower, which is quite a bit of a defensive move. Fortunately, she can only do it once, owing to her low TP. After the first half, you've to put Kevin, Nathan and Jack on the bench. Do so and replace them with some other players if you've scouted them out already. If you haven't scouted out any players at all, you'll play without three players, therefore making your job harder. If you go with method 1, then play normally and you'll win. If you go with method 2, then it's up to you to decide whether you play more offensively or defensively. Once you decide, concentrate your players accordingly, i.e., place more players in the back if you go for defense and place more players in the midfield if you go with offence. After the cutscene, you'll unlock the Extra Competition Route and Recruiting System. Check out the respective sections of the guide for more details. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o ____ | /=======O | /_City~~ |/| /=======O |/ Task: Search for clues in Deer Park! Also, after 10 minutes of the match has past, the opponent will get a score automatically and after 20 minutes of 1st half and 10 minutes of 2nd half, David Samford will shoot at the goal, even if you have the ball. So, if you are trying to score, then do it before this happens. The best thing to do here is to use the formation Midfield Block, this will help you get through those annoying little defenders. Also, go maximum offensive, you may want to get at least one goal before the first half ends. In the 2nd half, Kevin will be tired out, so he won't be useful to the team. Now, as for the training facility. When you check the spot on the upper right corner of the facility, a menu pops up with a list of the available courses; which are six. These are: 1. Attack Course |Raises Kick and Body 2. defense Course |Raises Guard 3. Speed Course |Raises Speed 4. Technique Course |Raises Body and Control 5. Strength Course |Raises Guts and Stamina 6. Special Course |Raises FP and TP You can choose any of the course here. On choosing, you are send to a maze like area where you have rooms with locked doors. Each room has either a robot, which challenges you to a soccer battle, or a chest. In order to proceed to the next room, you have to either defeat the team or open the chest. Your final destination is a big room with a soccer pitch. There you have to play a match with a team composed of a composite of the players from the teams you have beaten previously in the story. Defeat this team in order to complete a course and raise that particular stat for all of the 16 players of your team (not the ones who are in the reserve). In order to survive this area, here are a few tips: 1. Try to use TP conserving moves if possible. But don't hold back if the foe is powerful. 2. You can swap in players in between the training. Use this to your advantage and swap tired players with fresh ones. 3. Use TP and FP refilling items when necessary. 4. Before playing the final match, make sure all of your team players are fit to play. Use whatever you see fit to whip them back into form. 5. You can't get any info on the final team you're fighting, so keep your guard up. After you complete any of the course, go out and talk to Silvia to get your next objective. Each member of this team has a skill complementing their own strengths, Nathan's speed, for instance. They also have quite a bit of fancy, powerful moves which you have to look out for. The best thing to do is to use your best moves against them to overpower them. Beware of Nathan, he has got quite a powerful shooting move, which he won't hesitate in using. You may consider switching goalkeepers if one runs out. As for shots, usage of Mega Moves is highly recommended. Also, beware of their Fired Up, as the goalkeeper tend to stop much more of your shots than he normally can, although for some funny reason, he can't do so when he's not Fired Up. Use this to your advantage and score ASAP. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o After you win, you'll be treated with a cutscene, after which it'll be the credits rolling. Prominence \ | |/| / \ |\| |/=======================================================================\| \/ \/ o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 48 Their Weaknesses: No defense moves in forward and midfield, weak attack moves (except of Torch) Recommended Team Level: 51 First off, this team is mostly composed of Fire type players, so a team of earth element will be quite advantageous (although it's quite hard to find a good earth element striker). Their dribbling skills are quite good, with that Flame Veil of theirs. Same goes for their defense move Ignite steal. But this is where their strengths ends. Their offence is a tad too weak, with the exception of their captain, Torch. Also, only two of their defenders know moves to stop long shots, so you can esily take long shots after you drain their goalkeeper. Talking about their goalkeeper, he has only got Burnout as his move. This move, although is strong, but is not strong enough to block those Mega Moves. Restrain yourself from using the Death Zone 2 at the start however, as the goalkeeper has an elemental advantage over it. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o ___ ___ | /=====================================================================\ | | /__ Match __\ | | / Raimon VS. Recommended Team Level: 51 This team is mostly composed of wind type players, so a team of wood type will be quite advantageous. This team focuses more on the attack, therefore they've quite a bit on their arsenal. You'd better look out for their attacks, they're really something out of this world (bad joke, I know). But all this focus on the attack means that they are quite weak on the defense side. Break through their defense and score. And to make matters more funny, their goalkeeper didn't used any special moves in the first half during my play through. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o After you beat the team, visit the same place again for one more team; The Forest Team. Recommended Team Level: 56 Forest Team is made up of survivors of the forest. This makes their TP and FP skyrocketing. Fortunately, they don't have that much of those good moves to use their TP for. Most of the players aren't very special, despite of the fact that everyone of them have No Element, which nullifies the effects of the elements. Their goalkeeper, however, is a totally different story. She has Gigant Wall, one of the most powerful move of this game. Scoring will be quite difficult with this move against you. Fortunately, this move requires a lot of TP, so even she can't use it more than 4-5 times. Try your best to score on her early, she tends to start using that move late in the match. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o ----- ----- | /=====================================================================\ | | /__ ----------------------------------------------------------------- __\ | | /____ ____\ | |/| // __/ Extra Competition Route \__ \\ |\| |// /_ (ECR) _\ \\| |/ __/ \__ \| / /__ --------------------------------------------------------------- __\ \ /____/=================================================================\____\ After the match against Secret Services in chapter 2, you'll unlock the Extra Competition Route. They are as follows: 1 goal difference: B 2 goal difference: B 3 goal difference: A 4 goal difference: A 5 or more goal difference: S Also, you have to make sure to get no goal on you in order to get the S rank. If you manage to get S rank in a match, you'll gain twice the total experience as compared to the other ratings. Recommended Team Level: 29 Ah, the Royal Academy. The best tactic to defeat them is to use Midfield Block or Dot Prison formation, and then try to surround the goal with 2-3 strikers and take shots after shots. Fortunately, their goalie, Joseph has only Power Shield as his technique, which makes it very simple to score goal against them. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o |==================| |The Second Match| |==================| o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 27 Recommended Team Level: 31 Nothing much has changed, aside from the fact that Joe has got Full Power Shield as his new technique. Recommended Team Level: 32 Shuriken's formation is the one which you'd have problems with. So, try to go through the sides, as once you breach the initial defense, they're wide open for attack (man, I sure sounded like a military general back there, didn't I). Anyways, use Butterfly or Midfield Block, and the rest is easy. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o |==================| |The Second Match| |==================| o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 33 Recommended Team Level: 36 Brother, looks like this route was made to challenge players solely on the basis of levels, since, nothing else change. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o <><><><><> //Farm// <><><><><> How to unlock: Talk to Greeny at the Fukuoka park during or after chapter 7. |=================| |The First Match| |=================| o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 32 Their Weaknesses: Moves requiring high amounts of TP, low TP. Recommended Team Level: 35 Farm is a team which axels in defense. However, they don't have enough strength to sustain this defense. So, go full force against them, and use your own special moves. Thankfully, Greeny (the goalie) doesn't have the Infinite Wall, so bringing him down will be easy. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o |==================| |The Second Match| |==================| o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 36 Recommended Team Level: 39 Yup, same again. Nothing's changed. They could've at least given Infinite Wall to the goalie. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o <><><><><><><> //Kirkwood// <><><><><><><> How to unlock: Talk to any of the Murdock brothers at Fuji during or after chapter 9. |=================| |The First Match| |=================| o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 38 Their Weaknesses: Average midfield. Recommended Team Level: 42 A balanced team, Kirkwood has its own style of soccer, with acrobatics, Hurricane Arrows and Triangle Z. However, this means that they have a lot of pressure on them, which quickly drains out TP. Use this to your advantage, plus the fact that their midfield isn't something special, allowing easy movements. Also, his goalkeeper is quite weak, despite having a move like Counter Strike. So, you shouldn't be having much problem dealing with him if you've got the right level. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o |==================| |The Second Match| |==================| o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 43 Recommended Team Level: 46 Tsk. Recommended Team Level: 43 They are a few, but existing weaknesses of them. First, they usually start off attacking by passing to Artemis, who usually uses Heaven's Time to get past you. So try to tire him out ASAP. Also, Aphrodite tends to save up his TP for attacking, so use this to your advantage as well to take the ball away from him. And the last thing, Poseidon. He's tough, but can be tired out easily. Don't hold back on him after you drain him out though, he's still a tough cookie to break. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o |==================| |The Second Match| |==================| o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 61 Recommended Team Level: 64 Zeus, they never change. All of the players here have high stats and some of the best moves. And their goalkeeper hasn't changed a bit. He was a jerk, he is a jerk right now, and perhaps he'll continue his jerkiness. All this means a very tough fight, but don't panic. Try to drain Poseidon ASAP by using normal or low TP using shots, and then, attack like there's no tomorrow. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o =============== //END OF ROUTE 1// Prizes Won For B or A Rank Old Pin Badge For S Rank Big Moves! move manual ___ ___ | /=====================================================================\ | | /__ Route No. 2 __\ | | / Inazuma Town's Challenge \ | |/| / \ |\| |/=======================================================================\| \/ \/ <><><><><><><> //Umbrella// <><><><><><><> How to unlock: Talk to Ingram at Umbrella Jr. High in or after chapter 2 (after beating Secret Services). |=================| |The First Match| |=================| o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 4 Their Weaknesses: No dribbling or defense moves for strikers, a general lack of moves in the team. So, play with caution and try to break in from the centre, which is a bit weaker than the sides. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o <><><><><><><> //Triple C// <><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 26 Their Weaknesses: No defense moves for forwards. So, either try to drain out the key players or use your best defense moves to get the ball away from them. After that, the rest is the same. Also, the goalie is a tad weak, which makes one thing less to worry about. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o <><><><>><><><> //Fauxshore// <><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 31 Their Weaknesses: High TP moves, weak goalkeeper. Recommended Team Level: 35 Fauxshore has really improved its defense, which makes scoring quite hard. Combining this with the fact that almost all of the defenders have moves for blocking long shots and all of them gather around the penalty area while on defense, makes scoring difficult still. Best thing to do is to use a one man attack to break past the defense, and finish off the attack with another striker. However, make sure to avoid the offside and don't pass when you reach the penalty area, if there's a defender nearby. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o <><><><><><><><> //Mary Times// <><><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 38 Their Weaknesses: Not much, lack of good looks perhaps? Recommended Team Level: 42 They are your standard team, with the Basic 2 formation, which is easy to break from the center pass trick. So, use it and you'll be fine. Also, the goalkeeper has low TP (and a really horrible face), so you can easily tire him out. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o ============== //END OF ROUTE 3// Prizes Won For B or A Rank Inazuma Bracelet For S Rank Wyvern Crash move manual ___ ___ | /=====================================================================\ | | /__ Route No. 4 __\ | | / Alien Teams Of The Story \ | |/| / \ |\| |/=======================================================================\| \/ \/ <><><><><><><><><> //Gemini Storm// <><><><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 14 Their Weaknesses: Nothing specific. Recommended Team Level: 20 You must be thinking that why I've recommended such a high level. The answer lies within the black hole... the move of their goalkeeper Galileo (didn't knew that Galileo did something related to black holes). Their single biggest strong point is their goalkeeper, who can stop almost all of the shots you throw at him. So, it'd be best if you get Axel in your team before attempting this match, since he'll be at an enormous advantage against him. As for the other team members, the offence is mediocre, the midfield is okayish and the defense above average. However, the pink guy in the defense doesn't get a move, making him a weak point of the defense (that's why I don't like pink). o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o <><><><><><><><><><><><> //Royal Academy Redux// <><><><><><><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 26 Their Weaknesses: Few (3 actually) good players. Recommended Team Level: 29 Royal Academy Redux isn't a strong team. The last time we faced difficulty against them was due to the story driven phenomenon acting over. This time, they are left at the mercy of us. Only three of the players (David Samford, Caleb Stonewall and Joe King) are the ones you should look out for. The others are only a waste of space, so just play normally against them. As for the goalkeeper, he's quite a bit of a drag, but fortunately, he can use his Beast Fang two times only, after which, he's open for all sorts of attack. The rest lies on you. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o <><><><><><> //Epsilon// <><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 33 Their Weaknesses: Not very much. Recommended Team Level: 36 Almost all of the players in this team have dribbling moves for them, and that too of low TP type. This makes stealing the ball difficult from them, unless you use defense moves of your own. This puts a heavy strain on your defense. Fortunately, their defense is not as hard to break. Also, their defense is a little too forward from the penalty area, so you'll get a clean shot once you get past the defenders. Also, the left flank of the defenders have long shot blocking moves, so be wary of that. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o <><><><><><><><><><><> //Advanced Epsilon// <><><><><><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 51 Their Weaknesses: Weaker goalkeeper than before. Recommended Team Level: 54 In putting Dvalin up front, they've actually weakened their defense. Dvalin only knows goalkeeper and striking moves, so the ball can be taken away from him quite easily. Aside from that, other players haven't changed, except one, Mercury, who now knows Asteroid Belt as her defense move. The biggest change is perhaps their goalkeeper, Zell, who only knows Wormhole, which makes a big fat hole in Epsilon's defense. So, get your shots in via that hole. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o <><><><><><> //Genesis// <><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 65 Their Weaknesses: No defense moves for forwards and midfielders. Recommended Team Level: 67 Genesis is back, and they are mighty as ever. The best thing to do here is to get past the defenders and midfielders without using special moves, and then use trick passing to get the goal, since Nero's power hasn't increased much after the last time. Have a lookout for Bellatrix and Ark, they tend to get the ball away quite often. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o ============== //END OF ROUTE 2// Prizes Won For B or A Rank Tsunami Boost For S Rank Economy! move manual ----- ----- | /=====================================================================\ | | /__ ----------------------------------------------------------------- __\ | | /____ ____\ | |/| // __/ Premium Competition Routes \__ \\ |\| |// /_ (PCR) _\ \\| |/ __/ \__ \| / /__ --------------------------------------------------------------- __\ \ /____/=================================================================\____\ After you beat the game, the premium competition routes will be unlocked. Recommended Team Level: 43 Leave it to Royals to be perfect. This team uses the same tactics used by the old Royals, so the best thing to do is to use the same tactics you used earlier to win this one, i.e., Midfield Block formation and aggressive play. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o <><><><><><><><><> //Masked Men B// <><><><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 37 Their Weaknesses: Weak on offence, low level. Recommended Team Level: 41 No "what's under that mask" jokes please, I've already had it enough with the good ol' Kakashi sensei. First off, in order to play against them, your team must be at level 50 or below. This team is very weak compared to the ones we've been facing before, so just give them a good thrashing with your overwhelming powers. And the goalkeeper, he's a real joke. He has only got Sliding Goal at his disposal. Ah, at least he can save his nose from breaking, thanks to that mask. Tsk. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Version Exclusive Team: Firestorm <><><><><><><><> //Team Canon// <><><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 55 Their Weaknesses: No dribbling or defense moves in forwards, weak defense moves in the right flank of defense, weak goalkeeper. Recommended Team Level: 58 Hmmm, I've gotta say, this team is much more better than the previous one. Most of the players are mediocre to whacko, except only Canon. He has moves like Legendary Wolf (he's the only person who can do it besides Shawn and Wolfy from Occult, according to Inazuma Eleven Wiki), so better be at a lookout for him. Fortunately, his dribbling move isn't that special, so you can take the ball away from him quite easily. As for the other players, you may only want to look out for Gold when using long shots, as he has Dark Tornado, which mostly blocks your shot. The rest, including the goalkeeper is quite easy, so I'm leaving everything else at your discretion. P.S.: Canon Evens is, well, Mark's great-grandson (watch the movie people). o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Version Exclusive Team: Blizzard <><><><><><><><> //Team Blaze// <><><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 55 Their Weaknesses: Nothing in particular. Recommended Team Level: 58 Aah, now we're talking. This team is whole lot better than the previous one. Most of the players here are mediocre, but some of them are quite tough to overcome. Their main striker is a real killer with moves like Gale Dash and Fireball Storm. Also, Thor is a solid defender, having Super Sumo Stomp and Tsunami Boost, which he doesn't hesitate to use. In fact, he was the first player ever who used a long shot against me. So, put Mark in the goal in order to gain advantage over Blaze. P.S.: Syon Blaze is Axel's cousin, who's never been shown in the anime. Also, it's odd to see him in the Blizzard version, would've been better if he'd be in Firestorm. But then, the developers might be hinting towards the future; a future of Mark and N..., whoops, spoiler. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o <><><><><><> //Alius A// <><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 58 Their Weaknesses: No defense moves for forwards and midfielders. Recommended Team Level: 62 This team is made up of a composite of the best players of the three alien teams from the main story, and that's the reason they're quite strong. As for the moves, they have all of the standard alienwares, so watch out for them. Their main strikers are Zell from Epsilon and Bellatrix from Genesis, and they are the ones you should really watch out for, as they have the strongest of the attack moves of this team. The goalie is from Gemini Storm, and he's back with his Black Hole. Use a fire type player to gain the upper hand on him. Axel works charmingly well against this guy. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o <><><><><><><><> //Benchers 1// <><><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 49 Their Weaknesses: Generally weak players. Recommended Team Level: 53 Yup, the Benchers are back all right. And this time, they really suck. Simply, suck. Most of the players can't dribble the ball for nuts, and the defense is quite bad indeed. True, they are balanced on the terms of moves, but the players are simply not good enough to use those moves. So, just do your stuff and you'll win. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o <><><><><><><> //The Card// <><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 60 Their Weaknesses: Nothing in particular. Recommended Team Level: 63 First of all, in order to play this match, you have to make a team composed entirely of wind element players. As for the opponents, they are quite strong, plus, their main striker and goalkeeper has got the elemental advantage over you. Thus, your best bet is a strong move. Fortunately, Jude and Shawn are Wind element players, so you might have a better time attacking (given you had them for the whole of the story, you did, right?). Also, beware of their captain, Cardson, who is a solid defender. Try to either drain him out, or use your own dribbling move to counter him. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o <><><><><><><><><><> //Raimon Subs A// <><><><><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 65 Their Weaknesses: Not much on defense. Recommended Team Level: 68 ...and we've got a winner! For the first time, we get to see all the three managers in action! Yeah. This team, as some of you might have guessed, is made up of all the players from the old Raimon, plus the three managers. The old Raimon have their Alius power, which means they have the moves which they had back when they were the minions of Wyles. So, be wary of them. However, they don't have much in the terms of defense, which means... attack! The goalkeeper, Silvia, is also not very special, so play aggressively. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o <><><><><><><><><><> //God And Aliens// <><><><><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 70 Their Weaknesses: What? You were expecting to see something here? Recommended Team Level: 73 Cripes, this doesn't look good. And it certainly isn't. This team is a mix of Zeus and Genesis players, with some of the best moves at their disposal. They don't have any particular weaknesses as well. So, the outcome will only be decided by skill alone. But then, their goalkeeper is Poseidon, who can be brought down in just two shots. Try to use a wind element player against him (Shawn with Legendary Wolf preferred) to gain the upper hand on him. P.S.: They should really kill their fashion advisor. I mean, c'mon, skeleton themed kits? That's just cheap. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o ============== //END OF ROUTE 1// Prizes Won For B or A Rank Canon Evans/Syon Blaze (scoutable) For S Rank Nathan Swift (scoutable) ___ ___ | /=====================================================================\ | | /__ Route No. 2 __\ | | / The Middle Route \ | |/| / \ |\| |/=======================================================================\| \/ \/ <><><><><><><><><> //Robot Guards// <><><><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 42 Their Weaknesses: Same as ever. Recommended Team Level: 46 Looks like the programmers forgot to 'reprogramme' this team, now didn't they? This team is very much the same as it was back when we first met it. So, let's crash'em around like we did the last time. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Version Exclusive Team: Firestorm <><><><><><><><> //Prominence// <><><><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 71 Their Weaknesses: No defence moves in forwards and midfield, low on long shot defence moves. Recommended Team Level: 74 They haven't changed much in the terms of defence and dribbling, but have ammased some really strong attack moves, like Twin Boost F and Atomic Flare. So, look out for them when they are on the attack. Also, Torch's Flame Veil is next to impossible to stop, so be extra cautious against him. You can use the penalty trick against their goalkeeper, as he has got Fake Bomber as his defence move, which almost always gets you a penalty. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Version Exclusive Team: Blizzard <><><><><><><><><> //Diamond Dust// <><><><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 71 Their Weaknesses: Nothing in particular. Recommended Team Level: 74 They're back, and they're badder than ever, especially due to their level. Most of them have Water Veil as their dribbling move, which is quite hard to stop. Plus, if it is used by Gazelle, then it's next to impossible to stop. However, they have their own odd ball weaknesses. For instance, their defenders do not have dribbling moves, so the ball can be taken away from them quite easily. Also, funnily enough, their goalkeeper always start his defense with Tornado Catch, which is easy to break. Use these facts to your advantage to assure your victory. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o <><><><><><><> //The Chaos// <><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: Their Weaknesses: Recommended Team Level: o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o ============== //END OF ROUTE 2// Prizes Won For B or A Rank For S Rank ___ ___ | /=====================================================================\ | | /__ Route No. 3 __\ | | / The Lower Route \ | |/| / \ |\| |/=======================================================================\| \/ \/ <><><><><><><><><><><><><><> //Front And Back Kings A// <><><><><><><><><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 40 Their Weaknesses: ROYALSSSS! Recommended Team Level: 43 Yep, that's right. Since this team is partly composed of the players from the Royals, it was simply bound to be balanced. OK, maybe balanced word is a bit of a overkill, but you get my point, don't you? This team is composed of players from Royals and Cloister, Royals being at the defense and Cloister at the offence. This however, means that most of the team's attack is quite weak. So, you only have to break through the defense, which, unfortunately is this team's strong suit. So, use an offensive formation, like Free March (Kirkwood's formation) and get scoring. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o <><><><><><><><><><> //Advanced Occult// <><><><><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 45 Their Weaknesses: Weak goalkeeper. Recommended Team Level: 48 Occult has really leveled up since our last battle, won't you agree? Fortunately, they didn't had a curse up their sleeve like the last time. This team is quite balanced; offence is quite strong, defense is also good and the way they play is also good, but if everything would be good, then what's the catch? The catch is, their goalkeeper, who hasn't really leveled up in terms of moves. He still has that old Killer Blade and Warp Space, so scoring against him will be quite easy. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o <><><><><><><><> //Little Team// <><><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 50 Their Weaknesses: No moves for forwards other than the offensive moves. Recommended Team Level: Can't really do anything about it. 50, perhaps? First of all, to play this match, your team must be on or lower that level 50. So, you may have to take out some of your best players. As for the strategy, this team is quite weak on the defense, due to the fact that all of the forwards don't have any moves other than striking moves. So, getting past them is quite easy. Also, their goalkeeper has moves which are either very weak or drain him out quickly. Also, they use Wild Plank formation, which is simple to break if you use Basic formation. Now it's up to you to score goals by any means necessary. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o <><><><><><><><><><> //Team Inazuma A// <><><><><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 52 Their Weaknesses: Erm, ahem. Recommended Team Level: 56 Don't get me wrong guys, it's just that this team is so odd that I can't really think of a way to tell their weaknesses. First off, their offence is quite low. The only one you've to look out for in this area is Saggy. Then, they have a really crappy midfield, and one of them (Aurelia) only have skills at her disposition! And lastly, their defense is made up of goalkeepers who happen to know defense moves. Although, two of the defenders are actually quite good, but the formation they use, i.e., Infinite Wall, is easy to overcome, so they are rendered pretty much useless. Oh, I almost forgot, they've got Peabody as their goalkeeper, which makes scoring easier still. The best thing to do is to use direct shots at the goal, so that the defenders don't have time to react or reach the ball. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o <><><><><><><><><> //Old Kirkwood// <><><><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 55 Their Weaknesses: Nothing... in particular. Recommended Team Level: 58 Why do they have to put Old Kirkwood each time, and not only that, they even copied the whole dialogue too. Tsk. Anyway, Old Kirkwood is not a very special team when it comes to overall power. Most of the players don't have that much of special special moves, so your moves can usually overpower them. However, there are three moves which you should look out for; Triangle Z, Boost Glider and Counter Strike. These three moves are quite powerful and rarely misses their mark. Fortunately, these moves take up a lot of TP, so you can rest easy after you take care of their TP. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o <><><><><><><><><><><><> //FF Regional Pick B// <><><><><><><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 50 Their Weaknesses: Weak attack, one useless defender. Recommended Team Level: 50 (this one's also the same as Little Team). This team, if I have to say, is quite disorganized. The best attackers are as midfielders, and the best choice for the goalkeeper is on the defense. Further- more, the goalkeeper is a total nut job, who uses his most... fleshy part of body to stop the ball. I wasn't sure that I wanted to play with that ball again after seeing that. Anyway, the best thing to do is to break from the sidelines, where Franky (the useless defender) is situated. He won't be able to stop you, even if you use a weak dribbling move. After that, just hit the goalie hard on his behinds/nose to break him down. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o <><><><><><><><> //Benchers 2// <><><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 49 Their Weaknesses: Weak defense. Recommended Team Level: 53 This team too, is composed of the players which we've only seen on the bench till now, so apparently, they forgot how to play. They have Super Star 5 as their formation, which makes their defense quite easy to break. However, this also means that the chances for you to do offside are highly increased, as they're no defenders standing near the goal. So try to play solo and use back passes if need be. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o <><><><><><><><> //Inazuma O8// <><><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 75 Their Weaknesses: No defense moves for forwards, Infinite Wall. Recommended Team Level: 78 This team is mostly composed of the best players from the Inazuma Town (or Tokyo or, whatever). Thus, they are quite strong. But, they have their own weaknesses. First off, the strikers don't have any moves for defending the ball, so it's easy to get the ball past them. Second and more important, the goalkeeper uses Infinite Wall, which although almost always stops your shots (it wasn't able to do so to my Fireball Storm L5 however, :P), it also means that he will be almost completely drained out in the process. This leaves him wide open for a barrage of attacks. Any medium to strong attack will get him good. Also, beware while using long shots, one of the defender (Clover) can stop most of the long shots. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o ============== //END OF ROUTE 3// Prizes Won For B or A Rank Whale Guard move manual For S Rank Steve Grim (scoutable) ----- ----- | /_____________________________________________________________________\ | | /__ ----------------------------------------------------------------- __\ | | /____ ____\ | |/| // __/ Alpine Route \__ \\ |\| |// /_ (ARt) _\ \\| |/ __/ \__ \| / /__ --------------------------------------------------------------- __\ \ /____/_________________________________________________________________\____\ This route is unlocked after you beat the Dark Emperors second time. Their defense is entirely composed of players from Zeus, which only means trouble. Their offence, however is a tad weak due to the presence of players from Royal Academy Redux. However, you should look out for the Almighty, Aphrodite. Also, forget about long shots, as every defender has a long shot blocking move (except Dionysus). o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> //Advanced Secret Services// <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 45 Their Weaknesses: Same as before. Recommended Team Level: 54 This team here is quite balanced (but then, what we else we can expect) on almost everything, but as always, there's a catch. One of their defenders is actually a forward from Genesis, therefore making a big hole in their defense. So try to break through (without using the Breakthrough move) from that point and you'll be fine. Also, their goalkeeper is Dvalin, so you may want to bring out your best moves. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o <><><><><><><> //Cutesy A// <><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 48 Their Weaknesses: Weak moves. Recommended Team Level: 52 The very first thing you should note is that you need a team composed only of boys in order to play this match. This team, as some of you might have guessed, is entirely made up of girls/women. Their offence is not that good, so you can safely ignore it. As for the midfielders and defenders, some of them have good moves, which you should watch out for. And finally, there's the goalkeeper. She's got only one move which you should worry about, and that is Table-Turner, otherwise rest is easy. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o <><><><><><><><><><><> //National Team B// <><><><><><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 60 Their Weaknesses: Formation. Recommended Team Level: 64 This team, yet again is quite balanced. But, their formation, which is focused more on offence, makes them vulnerable for a quick counterattack. The best thing to do here is to take the sides and shoot from there. Also, this tactic is facilitated by the fact that only the defenders in the centre knows the moves to stop a long shot. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o <><><><><><><><> //Grown-Ups// <><><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 65 Their Weaknesses: Slow starters, no defense moves for long shots. Recommended Team Level: 68 This team is entirely composed of players from Street Sally's and Secret Services, which make them a tad too weak. They seem to start their real attack after a bit of time, which means, at the start they don't use special moves to counter you. Use this to your advantage for an early attack. Also, their goalie is quite strong, but she tires out easily, which makes her prone to the long shots. Combining this with the fact that only one player of their team can stop long shots makes her easy pickings. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o <><><><><><><><><><><> //National Youth A// <><><><><><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 70 Their Weaknesses: Willy Glass. Recommended Team Level: 73 Yup, he's back, and he hasn't learnt anything at all, both in terms of manners and moves. Therefore, he's the single biggest weak link of the whole team. Try to get him ASAP, although, he doesn't really get the ball. But if he does, just get it back via a defense move. Anything works. Well, almost anything. As for the other players, they all have their best moves, so counter with your own. Also, Soundtown's dribbling moves are a pain in the neck, so be vary of him. Their goalkeeper is nothing special, so just use your best (and preferably leveled up) attacks and you'll be fine. As a last note, their attack revolves round Xene, so mark him. Also, his dribbling move drains him out of his TP once he uses it, which makes him easy picking later on. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o ============== //END OF ROUTE 1// Prizes Won For B or A Rank The Tower move manual For S Rank Celia Hills (scoutable) ___ ___ | /=====================================================================\ | | /__ Route No. 2 __\ | | / The Lower Route \ | |/| / \ |\| |/=======================================================================\| \/ \/ <><><><><><><><><><><><><><> //Front And Back Kings B// <><><><><><><><><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 40 Their Weaknesses: Weak midfielders and strikers. Recommended Team Level: 43 Royals again. This time however, they've quite a lot of holes in their team. First off, the offence is quite weak, and they're prone to your counterattack. Next comes the midfield, which has only those mediocre moves of theirs. And lastly, the defense line. This is the only thing which is worth to look out for. As for the goalkeeper, he's nothing special. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o <><><><><><><><><><> //Advanced Kids// <><><><><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 45 Their Weaknesses: No defense moves for forwards, generally weak players. Piece of cake. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o <><><><><><><><> //Glasses A// <><><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 53 Their Weaknesses: Weak goalkeeper. Recommended Team Level: 56 And this, my friends is what they call ridiculous. In order to play this match, you've to have a team which hasn't got any kind of goalkeeper moves. This means no Mark, no Darren. Fortunately, there is a trick which you can use. Get Dvalin in your team (he requires a 40 level team in order to be scouted and he's found at Mary Times pitch, mind you). Put him in your team, making sure that he's in his forward alter ego. Then take out all the other goalkeepers of your team. After that, start the match and when you get the chance, switch Dvalin back to his goalkeeper alter ego. There. As for their weaknesses and strength, this team is quite average on most of the terms. Plus, they've got Willy in their team. So, you know what to do. Also, ironically, their goalkeeper is totally useless, as he has got only Warp Space as his goalkeeper move. Sucks, eh? Just go wildly full force and don't get the opponents to strike back, just to be safe. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o <><><><><><><><><><><> //Foreign Students// <><><><><><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 50 Their Weaknesses: Weak goalkeeper. Recommended Team Level: 53 If you thought the previous team was ridiculous, then have a look at this. This team requires a full team of players which don't have a shooting move. I guess Japan also has this "Atithi Devo Bhawa" (Guest is God) type tradition, which now we have to bear. Anyway, the trick is same; use Dvalin and Scott's alter ego (I wish Aiden were here). As for the opponent's team, they're good, and I mean really good. They've got some of the best moves for most of their players and they are good as well. Plus, one of the defenders, two of the midfielders and two of the forwards have long shot blocking moves, so no Gungnir from the midline. Fortunately, their defense can be easily gotten past of, and once you do, Dvalin can take care of the rest. Use Scott after you drain Silvia out, she tends to block Scott more often than Dvalin, presumably because of his Jynx skill. Also, Erik tends to hold back on his game, which makes one less to worry about. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o <><><><><><><><> //Benchers 4// <><><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 58 Their Weaknesses: Nothing much. Recommended Team Level: 61 Hmm, it looks like we finally get a bencher team with some decent level. They are not your standard weakling benchers, so watch out. Their goalkeeper is strong, but he can be drained out pretty quickly. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o <><><><><><><><><><> //Raimon Subs B// <><><><><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 55 Their Weaknesses: No moves for forwards except striking moves. Recommended Team Level: 58 They're the very same team from before, so all you have to do is to... read on. First up, they're not the Alius version, they're the real ones, so they have totally different moveset. They have changed quite a bit in the terms of defense, so it'll be harder to get the ball past them. However, except all of the cool dudes and dudetts, all of the players have pretty average moves. So you can get past them quite safely. And there is Silvia, their goalkeeper, who is weak as ever. I guess you know what you have to do. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o <><><><><><><><><><><><> //FF National Pick B// <><><><><><><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 65 Their Weaknesses: Goalkeeper with incredible speed of tiring out. Recommended Team Level: 69 The players of this team are all from the best teams of the national level, so there's little room for error in them. Fortunately, Greeny the goalkeeper has Infinite Wall, which although stops almost anything you throw at it, drains him out of almost all of his TP. This makes him useless right off the bat. Also, their attack revolves round Aphrodite, so mark a man on him when he gets near the goal to avoid getting a shot. The rest is pretty standard, and I'm pretty sure that you've gotten the hang of it till now. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o <><><><><><><><> //Inazuma 09// <><><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 75 Their Weaknesses: No defense moves for strikers, no other kind of moves on Wittz. Recommended Team Level: 77 Apart from their level, they are nothing special. Most of their moves can be taken down quite easily, and most of them don't have very strong moves. Also, their goalkeeper is very weak, so attacking her shouldn't be a problem. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o <><><><><><><><><><><> //National Youth A// <><><><><><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 55 Their Weaknesses: Nothing in particular. Recommended Team Level: 58 These guys ain't nothing compared to the National Youth B we faced at the end of Alpine route. So, assuming that you have beaten them, this team shouldn't be a problem. But in case you have, then remember the following; sideline attack is not really gonna work here, use centerings to score, goalkeeper has a new move, Clone Block, which is not that easy to break. That should be enough. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o <><><><><><><><><><><><> //FF Regional Pick A// <><><><><><><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 60 Their Weaknesses: Weak moves for most of the players, weak goalkeeper. Recommended Team Level: 63 It looks like Sue's mom has something against goalkeepers, so most of the teams on her route have either weak goalkeeping moves or are weak in general. Here, the former and latter, both are the cases. Most of the team too, possesses weak moves, so overcoming them shouldn't be a problem. You should only be aware of two or three players like Martin (not because of his weird smile yo), Busta (Reflect Busta, erm) and Hatch (Whirlwind Cut). The rest are nothing special. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o <><><><><><><><><><><><> //FF National Pick A// <><><><><><><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 53 Their Weaknesses: Erm... Recommended Team Level: 50 They again put a cap on your team's maximum level, 50 again. This team is just too good, and unless you have some hard hitting attack moves at your disposal, you're in for a really tough match. First up, their goalkeeper is Poseidon, which alone can be a gigant pain in the neck. And then, there are those defenders, who can really get the ball away from you. And finally, those pesky Farm guys, who do nothing but Whirlwind Cut and Mole Fake. So, what's the solution? Pray. And try to get best players and level them up accordingly. Trust me guys, this is one of the hardest match you're gonna play, so give it everything you've got. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o <><><><><><><><><><><> //National Youth B// <><><><><><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 70 Their Weaknesses: Bad choices for forwards. Recommended Team Level: 73 This team's strong suit is their defense, which, at the penalty area, consists of Hurley and Jack. This makes taking shots at the goal quite hard, as they come out to block your shots. Therefore, try to avoid them, use the shot scope to make sure of this. As for the other players, they're not very special, especially the forwards. They seem to be a little too weak to be part of the National Youth League, but then, who listens to me? Also, their goalkeeper is also not that much special. So, just do what you do. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o ============== //END OF ROUTE 1// Prizes Won For B or A Rank Steeple Shot move manual For S Rank Sam Kincaid (scoutable) ___ ___ | /=====================================================================\ | | /__ Route No. 2 __\ | | / The Lower Route \ | |/| / \ |\| |/=======================================================================\| \/ \/ <><><><><><><><> //New Alpine// <><><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 70 Their Weaknesses: Weak moves of many players. Recommended Team Level: 73 Although I say weak moves, many of them have Land Of Ice as their defense move and Aurora Dribble and Deceptor Dribble as their dribble moves. This makes this match quite hard, but if you've leveled up your team appropriately, then this match shouldn't be that much of a problem. Their goalkeeper has the good old Aurora Curtain, which he does not hesitates to use. Also, most of the defenders (except one or two) don't have dribbling moves, so you can get the ball from them quite easily. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o <><><><><><><><><> //New Cloister// <><><><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 75 Their Weaknesses: Nothing in particular (get habitual of this guys already, this'll be repeated throughout this section). Recommended Team Level: 78 Despite of their pumped up level, they really haven't changed in terms of their gameplay. So, do whatever you did the last time and you'll be alright. But, look out for the goalie, he's got Clone Block, which is quite powerful. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o <><><><><><><><><><> //New Fauxshore// <><><><><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 77 Their Weaknesses: Weak defense, weak goalkeeper. Recommended Team Level: 80 Fauxshore was hard to beat before because of its tight defense. But this time, that very same defense is very weak. Most of the players don't have that good moves for defending and the long shot defense moves are not that much strong (except The Wall). Combining this with the fact that Darren (goalkeeper) hasn't learnt anything after God Hand, produces only one best strategy; long shots. Use a strong one to get an almost assured goal. Even if you're not a fan of this feature, then you shouldn't be having much problems against the weak defense which they have. As for the offence, they're quite average when it comes to taking shot, but they are quite strong while dribbling. So, use your defense moves to counter them. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o <><><><><><><><><><> //New Mary Times// <><><><><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 81 Their Weaknesses: No defense moves for forwards, presence of a pure dribbler in the midfield. Recommended Team Level: 84 Most of the strength of Mary Times comes from four main players, Hurley, Dora, Soundtown and Rocky. Beat these players and the rest is easy. Best thing to do is to break from the center, where neither of these players reside. As for the goalscoring, use wind element moves to counter his Table Turner. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o <><><><><><><><><><><> //New Royal Redux// <><><><><><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 85 Their Weaknesses: Weak moves in general, weak moves for defending against long shots. Recommended Team Level: 88 Word of advice; get ready to feel the pain, for Royal Redux does nothing but Breakthrough and Breakthrough 2. Their stats have boosted up as well, making it somewhat more difficult to break past their Breakthrough barrage. Fortunately, this nets you a whole lot of fouls, use them wisely. The best thing to do is to put a player who knows a long shot move (I used Hurley) at the left side of the formation and take a shot with him, all the while being at that left side. This gives you a high chance of getting the goal, especially when the goalkeeper is drained out. As for the goalkeeper, his Beast Fang, apparently, does not have real fangs, until it evolves, so it's rather easy to break. Use your own evolved moves to take him down. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o <><><><><><><><><><><> //New Gemini Storm// <><><><><><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 87 Their Weaknesses: No drastic change in the defense and dribbling section. Recommended Team Level: 89 Oh brother, do they ever stop. Gemini is back, and they have increased their attack strength by like, a gazillion. They now have some of the best striking moves offered by the alien moveset, including Space Penguins and Gungnir. Their goalkeeper too, has learnt Drill Smasher, along with his nasty Black Hole. However, they haven't evolved in terms of defense and dribbling at all. So, getting the ball away from them shouldn't be a problem, provided that you have the right level. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o <><><><><><><><><> //New Epsilon// <><><><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 90 Their Weaknesses: Weak left flank of defense, no dribbling or defense moves for Zell. Recommended Team Level: 92 First off, this time, they've put Dvalin in the goal, so goal scoring is going to be quite difficult. Their dribbling skills are quite strong and you may not be able to stop them much often (if you are playing with an under level team, like me). But, they have got quite a lot of holes. First, their left defense flank is not as strong as the right one, so try to break in from there. Second, one of the defenders, Tytan, does not have any dribbling move, so getting the ball from him should be an easy task. Lastly, Zell only knows striking and goalkeeping moves, so he shouldn't be a problem as well in terms of getting the ball past and away from him. Also, for some reason, they tend to really attack a little later in the game. So, hit them hard with a quick attack in the start to gain the upper hand. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o <><><><><><><><><> //New Genesis// <><><><><><><><><> o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o Opponent's Level: 92 Their Weaknesses: Wittz, a little foolish goalkeeper. Recommended Team Level: 94 Hmm, what can I say. This is Genesis, now complete with all of its moves and an enormous amount of level. Their most strong players are Bellatrix, Xene, Kiwil and Ark. But, they do have their own weaknesses. Xene and Kiwil use Southern Cross, which drains out their TP after one use for Kiwil and two uses for Xene. Also, Wittz seems to have only learnt shooting moves, which makes him easy pickings for stealing the ball. Their goalkeeper too, is an odd ball guy. When his turn to defend comes, he uses his best moves (Procyon Net or Temporal Wall), but after second try, he starts using Warp Space, which makes scoring on this little guy insanely easy. Overall, this team seemed to be easier than Epsilon, since I was able to get a S rank victory from them at the second match only, but it was not the case against Epsilon (heck, I was only able to score a measly one point to barely escape defeat). Also, just like the previous team, this team too tends to start their real attack a little later, making them open for an early attack. o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o ============== //END OF ROUTE 2// Prizes Won For B or A Rank Maize Boots For S Rank Death Zone 2 move manual ----- ----- | /=====================================================================\ | | /__ ----------------------------------------------------------------- __\ | | /____ ____\ | |/| // __/ Scouting And Recruiting System \__ \\ |\| |// /_ (SRS) _\ \\| |/ __/ \__ \| / /__ --------------------------------------------------------------- __\ \ /____/=================================================================\____\ By the end of the first match against the Secret Services, you'll unlock the Scouting and Recruiting Systems. Both of them are available through the video- phone in the bus. These two systems are crucial in finding new players for your team. Here is a rundown on both of the systems: |=================| |Scouting System| |=================| Unlocked at the start of chapter 2, scouting system allows you to get players which you have played against during those pesky little random encounters. It works via two methods; first by searching the playing on the basis of various criteria. By this option, you can search for the players which you desire for a specific purpose. For instance, you can search for a goalkeeper, or a strong goalkeeper, or a strong wind element goalkeeper, or a strong wind element goalkeeper from Nara. The ability section shows four options; clever (high stats in Control), fast (high stats in speed), strong (high stats in Kick, Guard, Speed and/or Stamina) and dexterous (high stats in Body and/or Control). The second option is directly searching via name. All you have to do is to enter the name of the desired player and it will be shown in the list, along with anyone else who has the same name as the one you searched for, provided that a player of that name exists, you have met him in a random encounter and he/she is not scoutable only via Connection Map/Recruiting/Premium Competition route prizes. To do so, however, you'll be spending what they call Friendship Points. These points are the equivalents of currency which are earned by playing matches and battles and sometimes in the chests. The amount of Friendship Points require vary from player to player and increases with the increasing ability of the player. That means, the better the player, the more the price. Also, unlike the previous game, the search gets completed instantly, so you can search for your desired player quickly, rather than to wait for a long time. After you search out for the desired player, Hillman will tell you the location of that player. This info will be accurate to vague to next to impossible to find, based on the power of the player you've scouted out. After you go and talk to the said player, you usually have to play a soccer battle against them to convince him to join the team. The win conditions vary based on the player. You can also call Hillman from the Menu-> Info-> Status to check back on the location of the scouted player. |===================| |Recruiting System| |===================| Similar to the scouting system, recruiting system is the thing you'll be needing if you're looking for the players from other teams. By this option, you can search for the players from the team against which you've already played. When you select this option, a list of available teams will be shown to you, which can be scrolled by L/R buttons. After you choose the team which you want the player from, the list of available players will be presented to you. If the player which you were looking for is not in the list, then you can search again till you get the required player. Also, you can cancel the search anytime and search for another player. This too, requires Friendship Points. Just like the scouting system, you can check for the searched player via the Status sub menu. Just like scouting, you have to play a soccer battle and win in order to get that player in the team. You can also cancel the previous search and scout/recruit another player. However, you'll lose the points which you've spent on that player for good. |================| |Connection Map| |================| Sort of an odd ball way to scout out players, the connection map is based on the theory of six degrees of separation, i.e., the one you know knows someone else who can play soccer and that person in turn, knows a person who knows a person who knows about a person who can tell about a person who can play really good soccer and that person, blardy blardy blar blar blar blar. Erm, ahem (cough, cough). I think you get my point now. Anyhow, connection map is another way to scout (scout, mark my words, not recruit) players. Unlocked midway during the second chapter, it works as follows: When you open up the connection map screen, there will be chains which runs through a 3*3 grid. Each individual chain has point at which it divides into more chains. Each chain consists of players functioning as the links of the chain. To unlock the next link, you first have to get the player before that link. At each corner of the grid (excluding the one at the upper left) is the ending link of the chain, which has the best player. Your main aim should be to get that player. However, there's a catch; in order to progress through the chain, you may sometimes have to unlock it, that is, you have to meet a certain condition in order to progress further. That condition may be either to complete a certain story task or to befriend a specific player. Please do note that some of the best players are at the lower right part of the grid and are the hardest to get. As usual, you have to spend Friendship Points in order to get that player in your team. To scout out a player, just select the player and select yes when asked to do so. His location will be told immediately to you and you just have to go get him, usually after beating him in a soccer battle. ----- ----- | /=====================================================================\ | | /__ ----------------------------------------------------------------- __\ | | /____ ____\ | |/| // __/ Recruiting Some Of The Best Players: A How To Section \__ \\ |\| |// /_ (SBP) _\ \\| |/ __/ \__ \| / /__ --------------------------------------------------------------- __\ \ /____/=================================================================\____\ Okay, so you now know what scouting and recruiting is all about. Now you must be aiming for some of the best players from all around the teams. But some of these players are very hard to get. This part of the guide is intended on helping you find those hard-to-find players. So, here we go. |============| |Erik Eagle| |============| This player can be scouted out by two ways. During chapter 1, you're asked to get 3 players. Erik will be at the station, along with Bobby. Just talk to him twice to get him in the team. You can also get him afterwards via Hillman's scouting system. But since he's useful in one of the story events, might as well pick him up as early as possible. Plus, he's an all rounder player with nice stats and moves. |===========| |Aphrodite| |===========| Search him via Hillman and then go to Tower area in Tokyo. You can find him at the upper right corner of the area, although you may have to do the enter-and- exit drill for quite a bit of time to get him. Defeat his team two times by taking a three goal lead to get him in the team. |======| |Xene| |======| Search him via Hillman and then go to Fauxshore Jr. High. Enter and exit like, a million times to make him appear at the lower left part of the area. Talk to him and then win three consecutive matches against him by taking a 3-goal lead. |=========| |Gazelle| |=========| After scouting him, go to Fuji forest and cross the bridge. Take the second left and keep following it till you reach the area which has two roads going up. Take the left one and talk to Gazelle there. You've to beat him first in a get-the-possession type match, then in a score-the-first-goal type match. |=======| |Torch| |=======| |===============| |Thor Stawberg| |===============| After you download a key from Nintendo WFC, go to the lighthouse in Okinawa and open the door where Axel used to live. Talk to Thor there to get him in the team. |==============| |Silvia Woods| |==============| After you win the match with Raimon Subs A at the Mary Times Premium Route, go to Mark's house and talk to her in Mark's room (oho) to get her in the team. |==============| |Nelly Raimon| |==============| After you beat Raimon Subs A at the Mary Times Premium Route, go to the Tower and climb it. Talk to Nelly there to get her in the team. |=============| |Celia Hills| |=============| After you win the Alpine's upper route with a S rank, you can scout her via Hillman's scouting system. Just search for her name and then go talk to her at the river bank pitch in Tokyo to get her in the team. |===============| |Timmy Sanders| |===============| After winning the match against Raimon Subs A at the Mary Times Premium Route, go to Cloister Divinity in Kyoto and talk to Timmy at the soccer pitch to get him in the team. |==============| |Tod Ironside| |==============| After you win the match with Raimon Subs A at the Mary Times Premium Route, go to Naniwa Land at Osaka and talk to Tod near the roller coaster to get him in the team. |=================| |Kevin Dragonfly| |=================| After you win the match with Raimon Subs A at the Mary Times Premium Route, go to river bank pitch at Tokyo and talk to Kevin at the lower left corner to get him in the team. |==============| |Nathan Swift| |==============| After you win the Mary Times upper route with a S rank, you can scout him via Hillamn. After you scout him, go to river bank and in the first area, go to the lower part, where the pier is. Talk to Nathan to get him in the team. The same goes for each of the competition route unlockable characters. Search them, talk to them and get them. |==================| |Hidetoshi Nakata| |==================| He's a secret character and one of the best in the whole game. To get him, you have to go through a ton of things before you really get to see hm. So, here are the steps required to get Nakata in your team: 1. Talk to the kid in the G-Mart located at Nara. 2. Talk to the kid at the bottom right area of Hokkaido city, first area. 3. After that, go to Inazuma Station (after unlocking it) and talk to Nakata. Enter and exit till he shows up at the station (upper center). 4. Now, go to Kyoto's G-Mart and talk to the boy there. 5. After that, go to Osaka and talk to the boy who shows up in front of the truck at the right side of the area. Again, do the enter and exit drill till he shows up. 6. Now, go back to the Inazuma Station and talk to the girl, who is standing at the place where Nakata was earlier. 7. After that, go to the Tower area to finally face him in a match. You have to do the enter and exit drill again till he shows up near the training spot. He's quite hard to get, so it may take a lot of tries to get his appearance (around 50 in the worst case scenario). Also, in order to actually face him, you have to be above Master rank in terms of team level (which in numerical terms means above 60) and must have above 80 friends with you. If you don't have any one of them, then he'll just walk off. After all that work (which extends to the endgame), you'll finally be able to face him. In order to finally get him, you have to beat his team first in a gain-the-possession type match, then win by scoring the first goal and finally get a three-goal lead. I recommend a team of about 75 level, so that even Nakata's shots can be blocked (forget recommended, GET together a team of 75, this is absolutely essential). Although this is a lot of work, it's worth the time, as he's one of the best players (as mentioned earlier)and his attack move Neo Galaxy is almost unblockable. As a side note, Hidetoshi Nakata is the name of a real player, who played for Japan national team and was the second player from Japan to obtain a place in a top Italian soccer league (Serie A). The player in this game is inspired by him, and is later shown to be Italian team's captain in the anime and game. P.S.: Most of this info is courtesy of wata_kun. Please, and I do repeat, please read this section before asking anything. PLEASE (although I've only got three mails total for all of my guides, still I'm showing off, how pathetic I am). Q1. I think you should have done (insert anything) like this. A. Almost everything in this world of ours has multiple ways to be done, and this game is no exception. So, if you feel you've found out an alternate way to do anything related to this game, feel free to drop me a mail. If your strategy is good, it'll definitely be included in the guide. Q2. You've done a mistake (insert the section/part). A. Fortunately enough, I'm also a human, so I'm also prone to mistakes. So, if you find a mistake in my guide, be it game related or fact related, mail me and I'll rectify the mistake ASAP. Q3. Your guide's not good. A. You can't appeal everyone in this world (I'm now going a little overboard on this philosophy lesson, aren't I). Therefore, if you don't like my guide, go find other guide. And if you want me to correct my mistake, then tell it and I will see what I can do. Q4. Where can I download this game? A. Don't ask me. Ask your best friend, Google. Q5. How can I recruit (insert player's name)? A. Check the 'Final Whistle' section. Q6. I can't get past (insert team's name). Help! A.
