3. Character Strategies

Here I'll list all the characters attacks, strategies, and some additional info
about each one. Note: When it says (Up A+X), for example, it means when the
enemy is above you; when the triangle is in the upper portion of the diamond.

1 DP Characters

--==Gohan (Kid) - (GHK)==--

..::Attacks and Abilities:::..

Gekizeturanma (E 50)
Up A+X: Gohan flies at the enemy, hits him with a combo and finishes it with an
energy blast. Useful when you're low on health and can't afford to miss with a
beam.

Continuous Shots (E 50)
Left/Right A+X: Gohan shoots a series of small energy blasts that not only hurt
your opponent, but also stun him. To take advantage of this attack, make sure
you use it at close range.

Demon Flash (E 50)
Down A+X: A simple beam attack, similar to the Kamehameha. Best used when the
enemy is stunned, because it's easy to dodge.

Magekisenkoudan (E 150)
Left/Right A+X: Gohan's Ultimate attack is almost like a huge Demon flash,
inflicting a large amount of damage. Not easy to dodge at all, use this attack
as soon as it becomes available.

Super Saiyan (E 100)
L: Gohan can use this transformation only when his Energy level is above 100,
it increases attack power. If his energy drops below 50 while transformed, he
reverts back to normal. Don't worry, though, you can use it multiple times.

..::Team Attacks::..

Energy Unleashed (Gohan and Krillin)
Gohan and Krillin team up to shoot multiple energy shots at the enemy,
surrounding him to the point of no escape.

Evil Shot (Gohan and Piccolo)
After teaming up with Piccolo to beat the crap out of the enemy, Gohan sends
the opponent flying and Piccolo sends his staple Beam Cannon.

..::Strategies::..

Use Continuous Shots and before the enemy has time to react, home dash up and
hit him with a beam. Since you should be short on energy after this, home dash
down and pound the enemy with a melee combo. Rinse and repeat.

..::Info::..

Goku's son first appeared in episode 1 of DBZ and is one of the few characters
to persist until the end. Originally trained by Piccolo, Gohan takes many of
his attacks from him. Gohan reaches SSJ and shortly after SSJ2; later, Elder
Kai unlocks his Mystic ability and he reaches his highest level of power.

..::Alternate Names: Son Gohan::..

--==Ginyu - (GNU)==--

..::Attacks and Abilities::..

Psycho Triangle (E 50)
Up A+X: Guldo comes and shoots three large energy blasts around the opponent in
a triangle formation. The blasts then converge doing damage to the enemy. This
attack is great when you're low on health and need some good damage; it's very
hard to dodge.

Recoome Boom (E 50)
Left/Right A+X: Recoome teleports in and shoots a Kamehameha-style beam at the
opponent out of his mouth. This attack is great for combos, because you can
move while the opponent is trapped in the beam. Activate the beam and when the
enemy gets stuck, dash in and hit him with a melee combo, making sure not to
hit him out of the beam.

Crasher Ball (E 50)
Down A+X: Jeice appears and throws his patented Crasher Ball at the opponent.
This attack seeks the opponent, but can be moved with the D-pad, use this to
your advantage.

Ginyu Storm (E 150)
Close A+X: Ginyu sends the opponent flying, and the whole Ginyu Force comes in
to attack the enemy. A good Ultimate overall, but not my favorite.

Special Pose (E 0)
L: One of the best specials in the game, this pose doesn't make you stronger
or faster, instead it lowers the enemy's energy by 25% each time you use it.
Excellent ability that can be used as many times as you see fit.

..::Team Attacks::..

Body Change Special (Ginyu and Goku)
Goku powers up an attack, then Ginyu switches bodies with him, letting Goku do
the attack in Ginyu's body. A waste. Unless you're fighting against a 3 or 4 DP
character, this attack doesn't do enough damage to justify the 200% energy cost
In fact, it's arguably weaker than Goku's own Kamehameha!

Cracker Formation (Ginyu and Frieza)
Better than the above attack, Ginyu sends the enemy flying towards Frieza who
powers up to 100% and slams the opponent in to the ground. Great animation,
slightly better damage than the previous, but still a waste (Aren't all team
atacks?).

..::Strategies::..

Even though he is a 1 DP character, Ginyu has one advantage over the rest of
he characters (Besides Cooler): He can move while his attacks are taking place
(Besides the Crasher Ball). Activate a Recoome Boom, fly in for a combo, and
before he can react, hit him with another beam, but this time, go above or
below for a Crasher Ball or a Psycho Triangle, respectively.

..::Info::..

Ginyu is the captain of an elite group of fighters called the Ginyu Force. His
special technique is his body change attack. With it, he can switch bodies with
anyone, useful to get the upper hand in battles. Under the leadership of Frieza
the Ginyu Force is only called for emergency situations. Ginyu is killed by
Vegeta.

..::Alternate Names: Ginyu Taicho::..

--==Dr. Gero - (DRG)==--

..::Abilities and Attacks::..

Photon Wave (E 50)
Up A+X: Gero moves his hand in an arc and creates a crescent shaped explosion.
The exact same attack as the eye beam. Just like the beam, this attack only
works at a certain range, train in free battle or training first to find out
that range.

Photon Blast (E 50)
Left/Right A+X: Gero shoots a large blast out of his hands. Not much to
say about this attack, really. It's very fast, and thus hard to avoid, this is
the attack I use most with Gero.

Eye Beam (E 50)
Down A+X: Gero shoots lasers out of eyes that make a semicircle explosion below
him. This is a good attack, but don't use it if the enemy is close, it won't
even touch him, so make sure your opponent is a good distance away.

Energy Drain (E 150)
Close A+X: In my opinion, the best Ultimate in the game. Gero closes in on the
opponent and drains his health. Not only can this attack potentially kill your
adversary, it also adds the lost health to your own, effectively letting you
have two lives.

Absorbtion Barrier (E 20)
L: This power up enables Gero to absorb all small energy blasts. Each blast
absorbed increases his energy by 10%. This special ability can be used as many
times as you want, and lasts for about 10 seconds (100 game seconds). The funny
thing is that this ability has a spelling mistake in-game.

..::Team Attacks::..

Twin Drain (Dr. Gero and Cell (2nd))
Gero absorbs the enemy's energy and then sends his to Cell to be absorbed. No
actual health or energy increases apply, but a good attack nonetheless.

..::Strategies::..

Abuse the Photon blast, Gero's other attacks all suck. No real combos can be
used, but if you use melee combos from above your opponent, you'll gain almost
double the energy. The second your health turns red, charge to 150 and use your
ultimate, it could give you the edge you need to win the battle. Make sure
that you abuse *heavily* his grab (Y+B), as each time you use it, you gain
a little health and 50% energy!

..::Info::..

Gero was part of the Red Ribbon Army until he became an android and decided to
create more androids to kill Goku and take over the world. His "army" ended up
fighting with Goku and #16 actually enabled Gohan to reach SSJ2.

..::Alternate Names: None::..

2 DP Characters

--==Krillin - (KRL)==--

..::Attacks and Abilities::..

Kirenzan (E 50)
Up A+X: Krillin releases a series of 11 Destructo Disks to pound the enemy.
This is a great attack, but doesn't have the power that his Destructo Disk had
in the Anime. Use this attack when accuracy is necessary.

Kamehameha (E 50)
Left/Right A+X: It's the Kamehameha; use it at close to medium range for
maximum effectiveness.

Soukidan (E 50)
Down A+X: Krillin unleashes a small Spirit Bomb at towards the enemy. Similar
to Ginyu's Crasher Ball, this attack can also be guided using the D-pad.

Ryuuseikoudan (E 150)
Left/Right A+X: Krillin unleashes a large energy ball that appears to miss the
enemy, but then drops a large amount of small energy balls on the opponent from
above. A great attack that shouldn't be wasted; if you're fighting one enemy
use it as soon as possible, but if there's two or three, use it when the CPU
changes to inflict the most damage.

True Potential (E 100)
L: Similar to the Super Saiyan ability, this ability increases Krillin's attack
power, although it can only be used if his energy is above 100, and ends if
below 30.

..::Team Attacks::..

Dual Destructo Disk (Krillin and Android #18)
Krillin and #18 appear at the bottom of the screen to charge up a large
Destructo Disk which then separates into 50 small one to harass the enemy.
I can't think of anything special to say about this attack.

Energy Unleashed (Krillin and Gohan (Kid))
Krillin and Gohan appear at the bottom of the screen and shoot out a stream of
energy blasts that surround the opponent, disabling his escape. Better than the
above team attack, the only downside to using this attack is the fact that you
have to have Gohan in your party.

Warriors of Earth (Krillin and Tien/Yamcha)
Krillin, Yamcha, Tien, Chiaotzu, and Yajirobe all team up to form this awesome
team attack. Krillin slams the opponent down, Yamcha uses his Wolf Fang Fist
attack, Tien and Chiaotzu uses Dodon Rays, and Yajirobe finishes it up with a
sword slice. Krillin's best team attack is easier to pull of because you can
activate Tien and charge you Ki until you can use this. Definitely recommended.

..::Strategies::..

Put Tien/Yamcha in your team, and abuse Tien's attack; while he is attacking,
charge your ki for an ultimate or for a team attack. No real combos for Krillin
 just abuse his Kamehameha and Destructo Disks, and you'll be fine.

..::Info::..

Krillin was Goku's rival in DB and becomes his best friend and most reliable
ally in DBZ. He is one of the first warriors to go to Namek for the Dragon
balls and his death enables Goku to go SSJ. He also later marries Android #18
and has a daughter named Maron. Also, my favorite character.

..::Alternate Names: Kuririn; Klylyn::..

--==Frieza - (FRZ)==--

..::Attacks and Abilities::..

Death Beam (E 50)
Up A+X: Frieza send up a small, fast and powerful beam, similar to a compact
Kamehameha. One of Frieza's best attacks, the Death Beam is near impossible to
dodge. Use mercilessly.

Death Wave (E 50)
Left/Right A+X: Frieza sends a shockwave towards the enemy. Another great
attack, Death Wave is hard to dodge also, but not impossible. Use this attack
when on or close to the ground for best effect.

Psycho Blast (E 50)
Down A+X: Frieza summons four boulders and sends them all to his opponent.
Use this attack sparingly, seeing as it's easy to dodge. I find this attack
useless when I could use Death Wave of Blast.

Death Ball (E 150)
Down A+X: The attack that Frieza used to destroy Planet Namek and Planet Vegeta
hasn't lost any of its power. Use this attack when the enemy has about 50% of
his health and he'll go down; it's most effective at medium range.

100% Activation (E 100)
L: This special increases Frieza's attack power for the rest of the battle.
Unlike the Super Saiyan power up, this special costs 100% energy and remains
active for the remainder of the battle. I like to use this only when I have a
large amount of Ki or when I'm losing. Great power up.

..::Team Attacks::..

Cracker Formation (Frieza and Ginyu)

Ginyu sends the enemy flying towards Frieza who powers up to 100% and slams the
opponent in to the ground. Great animation, this attack is still a waste, in my
opinion.

Absolute Evil (Frieza and Cell)
Frieza and Cell hit the opponent around, a la volleyball and hit him with a
ton of Death Beams followed by two large Ki blasts. Great attack, recommended
to all.

Blind Meteor (Frieza and Zarbon/Dodoria)
Zarbon and Dodoria appear behind Frieza and pound the enemy with their beam
attacks, enabling Frieza to attack from behind the opponent and send him flying
Good attack, but no where near as good as the above team attack.

..::Strategies::..

Team Frieza with either Cell or Zarbon/Dodoria to get the most out of him.
Pound the enemy with Death Beams and Waves until the enemy gets you around 50%
health. When this happens, use 100% activation and keep on using you support
until you can use your ultimate. At this point the battle is over. If you tap
R when you activate Frieza's throw, then Frieza will use 50% energy, cover the
enemy with an energy ball, and launch it at the ground!

..::Info::..

Frieza, the evil tyrant, was, at one point, the most powerful being in the
universe. He commanded a great army that included some Saiyans, some aliens,
and the Ginyu Force. Frieza was defeated by Goku and later killed by Trunks;
he was surpassed in power by Goku when he went Super Saiyan.

..::Alternate Names: Freeze; Furiza::..

--==Trunks (Teen) - (TRN)==--

..::Attacks and Abilities::..

Rush Blade (E 50)
Up A+X: Trunks slashes down and sends multiple energy blasts at the enemy. Only
use this at extreme close range.

Flash Saber (E 50)
Left/Right A+X: Trunks slashes twice with his sword, sending beams of energy at
his opponent. This attack is Trunks' Kamehameha style attack, but doesn't quite
have the range of the normal beam attacks. Use at close to medium range.

Crescent Sword (E 50)
Down A+X: Trunks slashes with his sword to send a crescent shaped beam down to
the enemy. Great attack that is fast and wide, making it hard to avoid, but
does less damage than the others.

Buster Blade (E 150)
Left/Right A+X: Trunks flies at his opponent, slashes him 30 times with an
advanced version of the Flash Saber, and finishes by powering his sword up and
slashing once more. This attack is great, but you have to connect with the
enemy for it to work, so try using Trunks' throw and then activating the
attack.

Angry (E 0)
L: This power up increases Trunks' attack damage by a lot, but here's the
catch: it only activates when he's fighting an android. This means that he can
only use it when he's fighting the following enemies in any team: #18, Dr.
Gero, and #17/#16. This fact limits the usefulness of this power up. Also, the
power up ends when Trunks hits 15% energy.

..::Team Attacks::..

Twin Sword Slash (Trunks and Gohan (Teen))
Gohan and Trunks team together, slashing the enemy multiple times with their
swords. To get the most out of this attack, team Trunks, Gohan, and Bardock
together. Activate Bardock, and use Trunks' throw (Y+B), while the enemy is
still frozen, use the attack, and finish by activating Bardock again.

..::Strategies::..

To use Trunks to his full power, get in the enemy's face and stay there. Use
the supers from close range and you'll have the match in the bag. One nice
thing about Trunks is his throw; it temporarily paralyzes the enemy, enabling
you to pull off a risky attack. Also, if you press R the moment Trunks appears,
before he executes the throw, he'll do a powered up version of the throw that
costs E 50 but does much more damage than the normal.

..::Info::..

The mysterious boy from a future where only death awaits, Trunks travels back
in time to warn the Z Warriors of the impending doom. Trunks is the son of
Bulma and Vegeta; he later becomes good friends with Goten.

..::Alternate Names: Mirai Trunks; Future Trunks::..

--==Android #18 - (#18)==--

..::Attacks and Abilities::..

Double Buster (E 50)
Up A+X: #18 shoots a series of small ki blasts followed by a large blast to
finish it off. This attack is one of my least favorites in the game. At close
range the small blasts hit the enemy away and most of the time facilitates the
evasion of the large. At long range, the small blasts don't connect and the
large does minimal damage.

Photon Blitz (E 50)
Left/Right A+X: #18 creates an energy "sword" out of her palm and holds it
there for a brief period of time. I like this attack; essentially it's a
truncated version of the Kamehameha, a version that's only good at close range.

Photon Strike (E 50)
Down A+X: #18 sends a stream of small energy blasts at the enemy. Similar to
the first wave of blasts in her Double Buster, this attack does small damage,
but has one advantage: if you press A+X while the attack is activated, you can
prolong its life a little by paying 10% energy for each press.

Energy Mine (E 150)
Left/Right A+X: #18 creates 5 energy mines and places them around the opponent.
She then proceeds by knocking the enemy so that he bounces in between them,
like a pinball. She finalizes the attack by setting off all the mines in her
opponent's face. Great attack, use at close range when the enemy can't hit you
(No supers, is using a melee attack, etc).

Infinite Energy Type (E 200)
L: This is a great power up that can only be activated when you have 200%
energy. Don't worry, though, it only uses 100% energy, but it is definitely
worth it. After activation, this special allows you to use all your supers,
energy attacks, homing dashes, and any other ki-consuming skills without
draining energy!

..::Team Attacks::..

Dual Destructo Disk (Android #18 and Krillin)
Krillin and #18 appear at the bottom of the screen to charge up a large
Destructo Disk which then separates into 50 small one to harass the enemy.
I can't think of anything special to say about this attack.

Hell Spiral (Android #18 and Android #17/Android #16
#18 and #17 grab the enemy, slamming him into the ground, creating a large hole
which #16 proceeds to blow to bits using his Hell's Flash. Great attack, it
might be my second favorite animation for any attack in the game.

..::Strategies::..

#18's strong ki blast (R+A) is a great attack. She sends a small mine out, and
if the enemy is hit by the explosion (not the mine itself, but the explosion),
it does awesome damage.

At the beginning of the battle use melee combos to get 200% (or use Bardock, if
you're lazy like me) and activate infinite energy. Follow up with a Photon
Strike, and keep jamming A+X, and the attack will last almost double the time,
for no Ki at all. A great combo.

..::Info::..

Android #18 is one of the androids manufactured by Dr. Gero for one sole
purpose: revenge. Even though the androids were created to kill and take over
the world, they ended up turning good after the trouble with Cell. Android #18
marries Krillin and has a daughter, Maron.

..::Alternate Name: #18; 18::..

3 DP Characters

--==Goku - (GKU)==--

..::Attacks and Abilities::..

Twin Dragon Shot (E 50)
Up A+X: Goku charges two Genki Dama-style energy blasts in his palm and shoots
them at his opponent. This attack is great, and has a neat little feature: you
can charge it up. Charging the attack makes the second blast do a lot more
damage. The downside? It takes a few seconds to charge and in this time, the
enemy can easily dodge it. I recommend you charge it when the enemy is
otherwise distracted. (More info on this in the strategies section)

Kamehameha (E 50)
Left/Right: It's the Kamehameha. Probably the most useful attack in the game,
also one of my favorites. The Kamehameha is best used at close to medium range
because not only is the attack easy to dodge, it leaves you wide open to an
attack if you miss. Great attack is used wisely, but can also be your downfall.

Spirit Bomb (E 50)
Down A+X: Goku borrows energy from every living thing on Earth to form a large
energy sphere that he then tosses at the enemy. This attack might be the
strongest attack in the game (besides Ultimates) if charged up. You can charge
the attack up a large amount similar to the Twin Shots, to attain max damage.
Use in tandem with Hercule or Tien/Yamcha to stun the enemy while you charge up
their destruction.

Level 20 Kaioken (E 150)
Left/Right A+X: My favorite animation for any attack in the game, I can't even
describe it here, go do it and come back when you're done. Awesome? Yeah,
that's what I thought. Not much to say, this attack is an ultimate, so you only
get one shot, use it wisely, but don't wait too long for the opportunity.

Kaioken (E 100)
L: Similar to Gohan's SS ability, this power up increases attack damage. The
ability is only available when you have 100% or more and goes away when you go
under 50%.

..::Team Attacks::..

Family Kamehameha (Goku and Gohan (Super 2))
Gohan comes in and does a normal Kamehameha and Goku teleports to his side and
adds his power to complete the Family Kamehameha. Great team super, if you have
a Goku and Gohan (Super 2) team, this attack is the point of that pair. Don't
overdo it, but use once you get the chance.

Double Attack (Goku and Piccolo)
Goku flies at the enemy, and teleports away allowing Piccolo to execute a
combo, sending the enemy to Goku who finishes it off by sending the opponent
into the ground. Not Goku's best, but still good, use if you have Bardock with
you. Otherwise, only use if you have 200% energy and don't know what to do with
it.

Body Change Special (Goku and Ginyu)
Goku powers up an attack, then Ginyu switches bodies with him, letting Goku do
the attack in Ginyu's body. A waste. Unless you're fighting against a 3 or 4 DP
character, this attack doesn't do enough damage to justify the 200% energy
cost.

Super Spirit Bomb (Goku and Hercule)
Goku's best team super, this attack does major damage. Use this attack when you
can, because for a 1-4 DP character, this bomb is an instant killer! Use
Hercules's ability to distract the enemy while you charge your ki and smack
'em with this super.

..::Strategies::..

So many combos, I don't know where to begin. Team Goku with Gohan (Super 2) and
Tien/Yamcha for max damage, or with Hercule for his awesome team super. Try the
following technique:

MAX charged Twin Dragon Shots or MAX charged Spirit Bomb: Use Hercule or
another support character that stuns the enemy and charge this baby while the
enemy is otherwise occupied, and slam him! Great combo, you can do the same
with the Spirit Bomb, which actually does more damage.

..::Info::..

If you need info on Goku, then you have no DBZ, DB, or GT experience at all.
Goku is the main character from all three series; an alien sent from his home
planet before its destruction (not unlike Superman) to take over Earth and
destroy all its inhabitants. After a near-fatal accident, Goku loses his memory
and turns into the pure warrior we all know and love.

..::Alternate Name: Son Goku, Gokou, Kakkarot::..

--==Piccolo - (PCO)==--

..::Attacks and Abilities::..

MaKankuuhouidan (E 50)
Up A+X: Piccolo shoots out a number of "grenades" from his hands in a circle,
and then directs them at his enemy. This attack is one of my favorites for
Piccolo. You can use it normally to do damage, or you can repeatedly press A+X
to shoot out more grenades to demolish the enemy. Great attack, use it often.

Special Beam Cannon (E 50)
Left/Right A+X: Piccolo's trump card in the battle against Raditz, here he uses
it in its perfected form. This attack is Piccolo's Kamehameha. The only
difference between the two is that this one is faster and skinnier, making it
more effective at long range.

Gekiretsukoudan (E 50)
Down A+X: Piccolo makes a large "blade" of energy and directs it downward. This
attack is hard to pull off because it can only be used at close range. If you
use it and it misses, than the enemy has a perfect opportunity to slam you with
an attack. Use this one wisely.

Shonmafuketsu (E 150)
Up A+X: I just love this ultimate; word can't do it justice. Go watch the
animation and come back when you're done. If you're too lazy to watch it, this
attack is a combination of all Piccolo's supers. Great attack, just keep in
mind that you'll dash at the enemy and you need to hit him to activate, so
don't waste it.

Regeneration Ability
L: This ability is good for those no win situations; it regenerates a small
portion of your health. The best time to use this ability is when you get to
red HP; use your ultimate and when you're all done, use the ability and poof,
you're back in decent health again.

..::Team Attacks::..

Double Attack (Piccolo and Goku)
Goku flies at the enemy, and teleports away allowing Piccolo to execute a
combo, sending the enemy to Goku who finishes it off by sending the opponent
into the ground. Not Goku's best, but still good, use if you have Bardock with
you. Otherwise, only use if you have 200% energy and don't know what to do
with it.

Special Beam Cannon (Piccolo and Gohan (Super 2))
Gohan and Piccolo team up to do a super Beam Cannon that does massive damage
to the enemy. Great super, I definitely recommend using it, maybe in a team
with Piccolo, Gohan (SS2) and Bardock? I'm running out of things to put in
these sections.

Outsider Shot (Piccolo and Vegeta)
Piccolo and Vegeta both send a stream of energy blasts at the enemy and finish
up by hitting him with two large ki blasts. This is a good attack, but
definitely not Piccolo's best. Use when you need good damage, but don't base
your battles on this attack.

Volleyball Attack (Piccolo and Gotenks (Super 3))
Gotenks turns the enemy into a volleyball, sets him to Piccolo to bump-pass it
back and finishes by spiking him into the ground. Good attack, but I'd rather
use less energy and do a powered up version of the MaKankuuhouidan. Use this
to see the animation, but not much more.

Evil Shot (Piccolo and Gohan)
After teaming up with Piccolo to beat the crap out of the enemy, Gohan sends
the opponent flying and Piccolo sends his staple Beam Cannon

..::Strategies::..

Well, I recommend a team of Piccolo, Gohan (SS2) and Bardock for maximum
efficiency, but that's just me. Not much to say here except Piccolo fights
best when below the enemy, so stay there and hit him with MaKankuuhouidans and
stay there to use your Ultimate.

..::Info::..

Piccolo, the evil demon king, was once intent on taking over the world, but
through his time training with Gohan and his time fighting alongside the Z
fighters, he changed. Piccolo is an alien, a Namekian to be exact, sent from
his home world while still a child. Piccolo is the evil half of Earth's
protector, Kami; and later in the series, the two fuse to become the super
Namekian.

..::Alternate Names: Piccoro, Piccolo Jr::..

--==Vegeta - (VGA)==--

..::Attacks and Abilities::..

Final Bleed (E 50)
Up A+X: Vegeta fires many pinkish blasts at the opponent. Good at medium-far
range, you can also prolong this attack by holding A+X while using it, costing
10% energy for every other second.

Galick Gun (E 50)
Left/Right A+X: Vegeta uses his signature move, the Galick Gun. He charges up
the blast with his arms above his head at a 135 degrees angle, then lowers it
to a 90 degrees angle and launches the blast. It's technically Vegeta's
Kamehameha.

Meteor Burst (E 50)
Down A+X: Vegeta puts his arm down and creates a rugged wall of energy. This
attack has very poor range and is very weak, use it sparingly.

Garlic Fire (150 E)
Close A+X: Vegeta's Ultimate attack. It's good, except that you have to
activate it at close range. Vegeta yells "It's over!", and unleashes a melee
combo, ending with a strike down, multiple blasts of energy, and a Galick Gun.
Not bad, in my opinion.

Rival Awareness (E 0)
L: This can only be activated if someone in YOUR team has higher DP that
Vegeta (In this case 3). This ability increases your energy to 200%, it's like
a free Bardock use. One-time use only, though.

..::Team Attacks::..

Outsider Shot (Piccolo and Vegeta)
Piccolo and Vegeta both send a stream of energy blasts at the enemy and finish
up by hitting him with two large ki blasts. Use when you need good damage.

..::Strategies::..

Pound the enemy with Galick Guns, and then use melee combos to build energy.
Repeat until health is in red, and let the opponent get close to you. Then
activate it, and repeat the previous combo.

..::Info::..

Vegeta was the prince of all Saiyans that was the heir of Planet Vegeta, the
planet where Saiyans thrived. He arrived on Earth to destroy it, but was
defeated by Goku. He then later changed to a good guy, who settled on Earth
and made a family, with Bulma as his wife and Trunks and Bra as his children.

..::Alternative Names: Vejita, Bejita::..

--==Mecha Frieza - (MFRZ)==--

..::Attacks and Abilities::..

Death Junk (E 50)
Up A+X: Mecha Frieza shoots energy blasts into a formation, which strikes the
opponent in groups of two. The attacks aren't homing, but they do pretty much
surround you, so it isn't such a bad attack.

Evil Dance (E 50)
Left/Right A+X: Frieza shoots laser beams at the opponent, making them jerk in
hit areas thus making them "dance". This is Mecha Frieza's best attack, and
the laser beams deal pretty good damage.

Nightmare Blast (E 50)
Down A+X: Pretty much the same thing as Death Junk, except the blasts are in a
different formation. Yay.

Ghost King (E 150)
Down A+X: Mecha Frieza flies down to the opponent and releases an even more
powerful Evil Dance attack. He then blasts the opponent to the right, where
King Cold comes in and punches the opponent down into the ground. Not bad.

Relax! (E 100)
L: Mecha Frieza "relaxes", raising his health. It's much like Piccolo's
Regeneration ability.

..::Team Attacks::..

Freeze Storm (Mecha Frieza and Cooler)
Mecha Frieza and Cooler create a blizzard, and launches it at the opponent.
There are much better team attacks out there, but since this is Mecha Frieza's
only team attack, it'll do.

..::Strategies::..

Just keep using the Evil Dance attack until your heart's delight (Or at least
until you run out of energy) Then use melee combos to get more energy back.
When your health is low, use your Ultimate, and then get health back by using
Relax!.

..::Info::..

Mecha Frieza is the remodeled Frieza after he was in ruins from the explosion
of planet Namek. He went to Earth to seek revenge with Goku, only to die from
Trunks.

..::Alternative Names: Metal Frieza, Mecha Freezer::..

4 DP Characters

--==Gohan (Teen) - (GHT)==--

..::Attacks and Abilities::..

Kamehameha (E 50)
Up A+X: Teen Gohan's Kamehameha. We should all know what it is, if you don't,
I'll explain it. Gohan cups his hand to one side of his body, and then moves
it to the front to release the blast.

Gekiretsumasendan (E 50)
Left/Right A+X: Gohan moves one hand to a side of his body, and then pushes it
forward, releasing a moderate sized blast. Not bad, but not good either.

Gekiretsuhadan (E 50)
Down A+X: Gohan moves one hand to a side of his body, and then pushes it
forward, releasing some blasts that go out in an outward position, and then
closes in on the opponent. Best used at moderate range, if it's used to close
then the CPU might reflect it with a strong melee attack.

Super Kamehameha (E 150)
Left/Right A+X: Pretty much like a regular Kamehameha, except it's MUCH wider
and stronger.

Super Saiyan (E 100)
L: Gohan transforms into a Super Saiyan, increasing his attack power and
changing his hair blond (Obviously). Gohan loses 1% energy for every second
after this is used. Gohan reverts back to normal once he has less than 50%
energy.

True Power Unleashed (E 200)
L: Gohan unleashes his Mystic energies, originally unlocked by Eldar Kai. His
energy level reverts back to 0%, but he gets increased in strength, and this
ability doesn't drain energy. It's also permanent as long as you don't switch
(Like all abilities)

..::Team Attacks::..

Ultimate Kamehameha (SS Goku and Teen Gohan)
Goku and Gohan both shoot Kamehameha at the opponent, with Gohan shooting at
the left side and Goku shooting at the right side.

Twin Sword Slash (Trunks (Teen) and Gohan (Teen))
Gohan and Trunks team together, slashing the enemy multiple times with their
swords. The Ultimate Kamehameha is better, in my opinion.

..::Strategies::..

Have Goku (Super) in your team, and switch out every once in a while. While
you're in, use any of Gohan's supers (They're all pretty good), and build up
energy with melee combos. Use team attacks once you have 200% energy, and
activate an ability if you're bored or need the extra strength.

..::Info::..

Gohan is the first son of Goku and was a very powerful fighter as a child,
being the first to go Super Saiyan 2. As a teen, he lost some power due to
lack of training, but he still is a great fighter. He gets his Mystic powers
unlocked my Eldar Kai, giving him more power than a Super Saiyan 2! Gohan
later develops a family, with Videl as his wife, and Pan as his daughter.

..::Other Names: Son Gohan::..

--==Trunks (Super) - (TRNS)==--

Finish Buster (E 50)
Up A+X: Trunks raises his arms and shoots a large beam at the opponent. This
is Trunks' Kamehameha, and is possibly his best attack.

Buster Cannon (E 50)
Left/Right A+X: Trunks makes some hand signals and fires a moderate sized
blast. It's also known as the Burning Attack, except they changed the name.

Rapid Shot (E 50)
Down A+X: Trunks releases an extremely fast blast that deals moderate damage.
However, the range is poor, so charge it by holding A+X to increase its range.

MAX Buster (E 150)
Left/Right A+X: Trunks' Ultimate attack. He takes off his jacket, powers up to
Ultra Super Saiyan (USSJ), and uses a Finish Buster.

Super Saiyan 1.5 (E 150)
L: Trunks transforms into an ascended Super Saiyan (Not a SSJ2, just above the
power of a regular Super Saiyan without the speed loss). When activated, his
energy drains until 50% energy, where the ability ends.

..::Team Attacks::..

Garlic Buster (Trunks (Super) and Vegeta (Super))
Vegeta shoots a blast, which the opponent easily dodges, only to run into
Trunks, who slashes him with his sword several times. Trunks then teleports
away, where Vegeta finishes it with a Final Flash.

..::Strategies::..

Use Finish Busters. Lots of them. Also have Vegeta (Super) in your team for a
nice team attack and for the extra help. Use melee attacks to build up energy,
as usual.

..::Info::..

Trunks grew up in a world of fear caused by Android #17 and Android #18. Gohan
was his only friend in this world of rubble, and when he died from the
Androids, the sadness and rage unlocked his Super Saiyan powers. Trunks then
goes back in time to warn about the fate that awaits them, and tries to
prevent it from happening. He reaches the ascended and ultra Super Saiyan
levels, and grows a friendship with his father, Vegeta. After Cell has been
destroyed, he goes back in time to kill the future Androids and Imperfect
Cell.

..::Alternative Names: Mirai Trunks, Future Trunks, Trunks Briefs::..

--==Cell (Second) - (CEL2)==--

..::Attacks and Abilities::..

Kienrenzan (E 50)
Up A+X: Cell throws Destructo Disks at the opponent that goes outward, then
inward into the opponent like Gohan's Gekiretsuhadan attack. Best used at long
range.

Kamehameha (E 50)
Left/Right A+X: Cell cups his hand by his sides and releases a beam of pink
energy. Use it at close to medium range for max effectiveness.

Gekiretsukoudan (E 50)
Down A+X: This is exactly like Piccolo's move. Cell makes a large "blade" of
energy and directs it downward. This attack is hard to pull off because it can
only be used at close range. If you use it and it misses, than the enemy has a
perfect opportunity to slam you with an attack. Use this one wisely.

Absorbtion (E 150)
Close A+X: This Ultimate can only be activated if Cell uses it close to the
opponent. Cell absorbs the enemy with his tail, taking health from the enemy
and adding it to you. Not as good as Dr. Gero's Energy Drain, though, as it
doesn't recover so much health back.

Self-Destruct (E 0)
L: This can only be used if your health is in red. Cell explodes, inflicting
MAJOR damage but lowering your health to 1% (There's no difference as your
health is already low anyways). The best ability in the game, it would have
been better as Cell's Ultimate attack.

..::Team Attacks::..

Twin Drain (Cell (2nd) and Dr. Gero)
Gero absorbs the enemy's energy and then sends his to Cell to be absorbed.
No actual health or energy increase applies, but a good attack nonetheless.

..::Strategies::..

Cell has pretty weak supers, so just use melee combos and the occasional super.
When your health is in red, make sure you have over 150% energy, and activate
Self-Destruct. You should at least kill one enemy. Next, recover some HP with
Absorbtion. If done correctly, you should easily kill 2 enemies.

..::Info::..

Cell was created by Dr. Gero as his perfect creation. Cell has the cells of
all the Z Fighters and so he has their techniques and abilities, including
Piccolo's Gekiretsukoudan attack, Goku's Kamehameha, and Krillin's Destructo
Disk. Cell has a first form, but he absorbed Android #17, making him stronger.
If he absorbs Android #18, then he will become invincible... or will he?

..::Alternative Names: Semi-Perfect Cell::..

--==Cooler - (CLR)==--

..::Attacks and Abilities::..

Neize Electron (E 50)
Up A+X: Neize comes in and shoots pinkish electricity at the opponent at a
decent range. Not bad. Use at pretty much any range.

Sauzer Blade (E 50)
Left/Right A+X: Sauzer comes in and throws energy blades at the opponent.
Sorta like Trunks' Flash Saber, except stronger.

Doray Pressure (E 50)
Down A+X: Doray comes in and shoots blasts at the opponent. It's pretty
strong, except that it has bad range. Use at medium range.

Arc Blast (E 150)
Left/Right A+X: Cooler transforms into his final form and releases an Arc(tic)
Blast, or a lot of sharp little blasts. This has excellent range, use it as
soon as possible.

Honor Redeemed (E 0)
L: Cooler activates it when Frieza (Non-Mecha) in a team is defeated. This
boosts Cooler's powers without a constant energy drain, it's a little like
Gohan (Super 2)'s ability, except you have to have Frieza in your team.

..::Team Attacks::..

Freeze Storm (Mecha Frieza and Cooler)
Mecha Frieza and Cooler create a blizzard, and launch it at the opponent.
There are much better team attacks out there, but since this is Cooler's only
team attack, it'll do.

..::Strategies::..

Cooler has pretty bad specials, only use them if you're sure that you can get
max effectiveness out of them. Build up energy using melee combos, and use
your Ultimate as soon as possible. It's too good to waste. That's about it...

..::Info::..

Cooler came to the Earth in search of Goku to avenge his fallen brother,
Frieza, since they thought Saiyans were tiny flies, and their honor was
trampled with Frieza's defeat. After a battle with Goku, he gets sent flying
to the sun by a Kamehameha. He somehow survives that though, and his brain
attaches to the Big Gete Star. Thus, numerous enhanced Metal Coolers were made,
sent to find energy sources for the Big Gete Star to thrive on. He was again
defeated by Goku in a surge of energy released by him when he was absorbing
his energy, overheating the Big Gete Star and causing it and Cooler to explode.

--==Goku (Super) - (GKUS)==--

..::Attacks and Abilities::..

Super Shots (E 50)
Up and A+X: Goku shoots a stream of energy blasts at the enemy. Not Goku's
best attack normally, this attack can be prolonged by repeated presses of A,
each pressing costs 10E extra.

Kamehameha (E 50)
Left/Right A+X: It's the Kamehameha... Goku's best attack, use this often at
medium/close range for maximum effectiveness.

Super Shot (E 50)
Down A+X: Goku shoots a huge energy blast at the enemy; this atack can be
charged to do more damage by holding down A+X. Don't hold it too long, or
you'll shoot it twice, and maybe waste your energy.

Super Sayian 3 (E 150)
Left/Right A+X: Goku goes SS3 and fires a powered up version of his Kamehameha,
doing massive damage. As always, use this attack on the enemy with the most
health, it can only be used once.

Instant Transmission (E 150)
L: This ability allows Goku to teleport to a ramdom location on the screen.
You have no control over the direction or location of your transmission, so
just use it to avoid attacks.

..::Team Attacks::..

Ultimate Kamehameha (Goku (Super) and Gohan (Teen))
Goku and Gohan both shoot Kamehameha at the opponent, with Gohan shooting at
the left side and Goku shooting at the right side.

Super Bajit Sword (Goku (Super) and Vegeta (Super))
Goku and Vegeta temporarily fuse to make a large energy "sword", and then
unfuse. Great attack, but, like all team attacks, not worth 200 E.

..::Strategies::..

Abuse Kamehamehas, and try this little combo: first Kamehameha the enemy,
dash in, hit him with a throw (Y+B), and finish by hitting him with a powered
up Super Shot. Also, abuse his super energy attack (R+A).

Instant Transmission: When you have over 150%, you can use this ability to
combo almost any of Goku's moves. Wait until the enemy launches a Super and
teleport. After the teleport, you can hit him with a Kamehameha or Super Shot,
depending on the location. Great strategy.

..::Info::..

(Credit goes to Pow Pow Punishment for this bio)
The loss of his friends by the hands of Frieza caused Goku's rage to be pushed
over the edge, allowing him to awaken inside him the legendary fighting power
of the Super Saiyan, not witnessed for a thousand years. The flowing golden
hair and cold green eyes signified a more primal, enraged version of the
normally calm-hearted Son Goku. Super Saiyan Goku was able to overcome the
sadistic tyrant, who suffered defeat from the myth that became a reality.

..::Alternate Names: Gokou, Kakkarot, Son::..

--==Vegeta (Super) - (VGAS)==--

..::Attacks and Abilities::..

Planet Burst (E 50)
Up A+X: Vegeta executes a melee combo on the enemy and slams him into the
ground. Great attack, but remember that you need to connect with the enemy for
this attack to work, kind like a team attack.

Final Flash (E 50)
Left/Right A+X: Vegeta holds his hands behind him and brings them together to
shoot his version of the Kamehameha. Great attack, abuse this one.

Big Bang Attack (E 50)
Down A+X: Similar to Goku's Super Shot, this attack is a large energy blast,
which can be charged up to do more damage.

Big Bang Burst (E 150)
Down A+X: Vegeta creates a ball of energy and holds it below him to damage the
enemy. Use this attack at close range, or you might waste it.

Rival Awareness
L: If there is a character stronger than Vegeta in your party, this ability
will increase your energy to 200%. Don't waste this, it can only be used once,
so use it when you need it.

..::Team Attacks::..

Super Bajit Sword (Vegeta (Super) and Goku (Super))
Goku and Vegeta temporarily fuse to make a large energy "sword", and then
unfuse. Great attack, but, like all team attacks, not worth 200 E.

Garlic Buster (Vegeta (Super) and Trunks (Super))
Vegeta shoots a blast, which the opponent easily dodges, only to run into
Trunks, who slashes him with his sword several times. Trunks then teleports
away, where Vegeta finishes it with a Final Flash.

..::Strategies::..

No real combos, just use Final Flashes and abuse his melee combos along with
his strong ki blast (R+A) to finish the enemy before you have to use your
ultimate.

..::Info::..

The proud Saiyan prince was overtaken by anger and desire at the achievement of
Trunks' and Goku's Super Saiyan form, a rank that Vegeta had always believed
was reserved for his royal blood alone. Through torturous training and anger at
himself for falling behind in power, Vegeta awoke the ability to become a Super
Saiyan.

..::Alternate Names: Vegita, Begita::..

--==Gotenks - (GTK)==--

..::Attacks and Abilities::..

Galactic Donuts (E 50)
Up A+X: Gotenks creates a ring of energy, puts it around the enemy and
contracts it. Gotenks has to hit the enemy for this attack to work, like a
team attack.

V Cannon (E 50)
Left/Right A+X: Gotenks gathers energy in his palms and shoots it in a beam
at the enemy; this is Gotenks' Kamehameha.

S.G.K.A. (E 50)
Down A+X: Super Ghost Kamikaze Attack, Gotenks' own creation; he creates a
ghost out of energy and sends it at his opponent. Great attack, you can either
let it home by itself, of direct it using the d-pad.

Ultra Super Saiyan (E 150)
Left/Right A+X: Gotenks goes SS3 for this attack, and shoots a powered up
Kamehameha. Great Ultimate, use it as soon as possible.

Super Saiyan
L: This ability makes Gotenks' hair turn gold, and increases his attack power.

..::Team Attacks::..

N/A

..::Strategies::..

Spam Gotenks' V Cannon and S.G.K.A. unless you need sure damage, then hit the
enemy with a Galactic Donuts. One of Gotenks' best combos is his throw (Y+B)
followed by his V cannon. If you batter the enemy with that combo, the match'll
be in the bag.

..::Info::..

Gotenks is the fusion of Trunks and Goten. They were trained in the art of
fusion to battle the monster Buu.

..::Alternate Names: None::..

--==Metal Cooler - (MCLR)==--

..::Attacks and Abilities::..

Core Smash (E 50)
Up and A+X: Cooler produces a giant hand from no where to attack the enemy.
Great attack, one of Cooler's best.

Death Blaster (E 50)
Left/Right A+X: Cooler creates a ball of energy and holds it out in front of
him. Don't use this attack too much, it does minimal damage, so don't overdo
it.

Nest Ice (E 50)
Down A+X: Cooler shoots a few beams of energy at the enemy; this attack can be
prolonged by charging (hold down A+X) to do more damage. Great attack.

Machine Rain (E 50)
Down A+X: Cooler shoots multiple copies of himself at the enemy. One of the
longest Ultimates in the game, does great damage.

Revive (E 150)
L: This ability allows you to come back to life (a la Shenron), but only if
you have more than 150%, and it costs 100%.

..::Team Attacks::..

N/A

..::Strategies::..

--==Gohan (Super 2) - (GHS2)==--

..::Attacks and Abilities::..

Magekidan (E 50)
Up A+X: Gohan creates a huge "fan" of energy and holds it upward towards his
opponent. A good attack, not Gohan's best, but best used at extreme close
range, or you risk doing no damage.

Kamehameha (E 50)
Left/Right A+X: It's Gohan's Kamehameha. If you don't know how to use this
attack by now, then you'll have a hard time beating this game. Use this attack
until your A+X buttons don't work anymore.

Masenretsudan (E 50)
Down A+X: Gohan shoots a stream of energy blasts from his palms at the enemy.
Unlike the other attacks similar to this one, you can't prolong this attack by
pressing A+X, so use it at close to medium range for maximum effectiveness.

Raging Rush (E 150)
Close A+X: Gohan pummels the enemy, teleports behind him, slams his toward the
ground and finishes by hitting him with a huge energy blast. remember, you have
to be close to your enemy to hit him with this, extremely close, so don't
waste it, but at the same time, don't kill yourself waiting for the
opportunity.

Frenzy
L: If all the characters in your party die (besides Gohan and support
characters) then Gohan'll power up, incresing his attack power. Note that you
don't have to press L, it'll activate itself when he teleports in.

..::Team Attacks::..

Family Kamehameha (Gohan (Super 2) and Goku)
Gohan comes in and does a normal Kamehameha and Goku teleports to his side and
adds his power to complete the Family Kamehameha. Great team super, if you
have a Goku and Gohan (Super 2) team, this attack is the point of that pair.
Don't overdo it, but use once you get the chance.

Special Beam Cannon (Gohan (Super 2) and Piccolo)
Gohan and Piccolo team up to do a super Beam Cannon that does massive damage
to the enemy. Great super, I definitely recommend using it, maybe in a team
with Piccolo, Gohan (SS2) and Bardock? I'm running out of things to put in
these sections.

..::Strategies::..

Like I said earlier, hammer the enemy with Kamehamehas, and mix in some
throws (Y+B) and some strong Ki blasts (R+A). Try to find the enemy's beam
attack location if he has one (IE: Cell's is Up A+X) and when he uses it,
sneak behind him and hit him with either a Masenretsudan, or your ultimate,
and the match'll be in the bag.

..::Info::..

(Credit goes to Pow Pow Punishment for this bio)
Unable to bear the torture of his friends any longer, Gohan's hidden power was
released in a blinding flash of rage, allowing him to ascend to Super Saiyan 2.
The strength that Goku had insisted upon proved to be overwhelming for the
once-invincible Cell, as Super Saiyan 2 Gohan demonstrated after effortlessly
massacring all seven Cell Juniors.

..::Alternate Names: Son Gohan, Teen Gohan::..

--==Cell - (CEL)==--

..::Attacks and Abilities::..

Kamehameha (E 50)
Up A+X: Cell's beam attack happens to be the Kamehameha. Although slightly
less useful because you have to be below the enemy to use it, it still does
great damage, so use it often.

Ultimate Blitz (E 50)
Left/Right A+X: Cell creates a sword of energy out of his palm and holds it
toward the enemy. Good attack, but only use it at close range, or you'll risk
getting you butt kicked because your enemy dodged it.

Ultimate Wave (E 50)
Down A+X: I love this attack; Cell shoots a large Ki blast at his opponent
which slams him into the ground, and creates a shock wave that also damages
the enemy. Great attack, definitely Cell's best.

Full Power Rush (E 150)
Up A+X: Cell pummels the enemy with a long melee combo (25 hits, actually),
grabs him, and impales him with three energy swords. One of the coolest
ultimate animations, you should know how to use them by now.

Pride
L: This ability increases Cell's attack power greatly, but here's the catch:
only if you have 30% of you health or less. That is, only if your health bar
is red.

..::Team Attacks::..

Absolute Evil (Cell and Frieza)
Frieza and Cell hit the opponent around, a la volleyball and hit him with a
ton of Death Beams followed by two large Ki blasts. Great attack, recommended
to all.

Cell Junior Dance (Cell and Cell Jr.)
Cell creates six Cell Jr's just for this attack; they all fly at the enemy and
pound him once, letting Cell teleport in and Kamehameha the opponent. Great
attack, does great damage, use it!

..::Strategies::..

To get the most out of Cell, fight either above or below your enemy, for
Ultimate Waves and Kamehamehas, respectively. If you want to, or the enemy
goes to your side, hit him with a few weak melee hits and finish with a grab.
After the grab, shoot him with an Ultimate Blitz, he won't have time to react.

Biologically constructed from the cells of the strongest warriors in the
universe (and thus sharing their abilities), Dr. Gero's ultimate weapon came to
full realization of his potential after absorbing Android 17 and 18, the two
keys to Cell's ultimate form. Perfect Cell shares the Saiyans' trait for love
of combat, and he creates the Cell Games as a means for personal amusement.

..::Alternate Names: ::..

--==Buu (Good) - (BUU)==--

..::Attacks and Abilities::..

Angry Explosion (E 50)
Up A+X: Buu charges his energy and shoots a large wave around him, effectively
wiping out all energy blasts on screen and damaging the enemy.

Innocence Cannon (E 50)
Left/Right A+X: Buu shoots a stream of large energy blasts at his enemy. After
the attack is activated, you can shoot one more blast for every press of A+X,
each one costing 10% energy.

Hell Bliss (E 50)
Down A+X: Buu charges his energy and shoots is out of his mouth, like a super
wind blast or something. Similar to Gero's Down A+X attack, this attack is
only good at long range, but can be charged to be more effective at close
range.

Happy Sweets (E 150)
Close A+X: Buu shoots his opponent with a pink energy stream, turing him into
a cookie which he then proceeds to eat. Great ultimate, refills your health
after completion.

Regeneration Ability (E 100)
L: This ability is similar to Piccolo's ability of the same name, and in
effect does the same thing: it refills a chunk of your HP, and it costs 80% of
your energy.

..::Team Attacks::..

Hercule Attack (Buu (Good) and Hercule)
Hercule flies at the enemy, but his backpack fails, and he falls to his death
(or so it seems) while the enemy files after him for an easy hit. This fiasco
is time enough for Buu to sneak in a major attack. Great team attack, use at
your discretion.

..::Strategies::..

Charge to 200% and hammer the enemy with an Innocence Cannon, which you'll
prolong by hitting A+X, and if the enemy is still alive, effective use of Hell
Bliss and strong Ki blasts (R+A) will take him out.

..::Info::..

(Credit goes to Pow Pow Punishment for this bio)
Majin Buu's release from his prison seal proved to be more than anyone had
bargained for; as the body count rose, Babidi's control over his monster
diminished. Consequently, Buu broke his control by brutally decapitating his
own master. Beneath his jovial, child-like exterior lay an uncontrollable
desire for death and destruction. However, the sadistic Majin Buu's reign of
terror came to an abrupt halt at the hands of an unlikely hero: the proclaimed
"Champion of the Earth", Hercule. Severely overrated in the fighting category,
Hercule instead found victory by unintentionally befriending Buu, something
that the curious creature had never experienced before. Buu's playful nature
found the values of companionship irresistable. A conflict turmoiled inside
until his body expelled the evil within him into a completely seperate entity:
dark Buu.

..::Alternate Names: ::..

--==Broly - (BRL)==--

..::Attacks and Abilities::..

Gigantic Spike (E 50)
Up A+X: Broly grabs the enemy and slams him into the ground. Good attack, but
you need to connect with the enemy for it to work.

Blaster Shell (E 50)
Left/Right A+X: Broly charges a huge energy sphere in his hands and hurls it
at the enemy. Great attack, your strategies should revolve around this one.

Planet Geyser (E 50)
Down A+X: Broly shoots an energy blast at the enemy which pushes him to the
ground. The blast then turns into a geyser, pushing the enemy upwards. Good
attack, remember, you can attack the enemy when he's stuck in the geyser, but
be careful not to knock him out of it.

Blaster Meteor (E 150)
Close A+X: Broly powers up and shoots a lot if energy blasts at the enemy.
Good ultimate, you know how to use it. Make sure you're close enough for it
to work, you only get on chance.

Defeat Kakarot! (E 150)
L: This ability increases Broly's attack power, but only when fighting Goku
(normal Goku and Goku (Super)

..::Team Attacks::..

N/A

..::Strategies::..

Stay close to the enemy, hammering him with melee attacks. If he manages to
get away, line up for a Blaster Shell, and dash right back in. When the
enemy's health bar is red, get above them and finish him off with a Planet
Geyser, and a melee attack while he's stuck in there, to keep him from using
his ultimate.

You can charge up Broly's throw (Y+B) by pressing R as soon as he appears,
it costs 50%, but the damage greatly increases.

..::Info::..

(Credit goes to Pow Pow Punishment for this bio)
The genetic freak of a Super Saiyan, Broly, has a deep-seeded hatred for
Kakarot, known to his friends as Goku. The two Saiyans were born on the same
day in the same birth area, and baby Goku's constant crying, coupled with a
trauma-induced situation of intended execution on both him and his father when
he was still an infant, soon drove Broly into insanity. As a newborn, Broly's
power rivaled even that of an adult elite warrior, which ultimately led to the
reason behind the order for his failed murder. His ablities grew to such
astronomical proportions that his father was forced to construct restrictive
devices to keep his son under control. These bonds were forcibly broken when
fate led to Broly and Goku meeting for the first time. Broly's rage exploded as
he ascended into the Legendary Super Saiyan form, demolishing all who stood in
his path of obliteration.

--==Gotenks (Super 3) - (GTKS3)==--

..::Attacks and Abilities::..

Galactic Donuts (E 50)
Up A+X: Gotenks traps the enemy in 3 large rings and blasts him with a stream
of energy blasts. Great attack, but remember that you have to connect with the
enemy for this one to work. Also, you can prolong the second part of this
attack by pressing A+X while Gotenks is shooting the blasts.

Boar Attack (E 50)
Left/Right A+X: Gotenks flies at the enemy; kinda like Broly's Blaster Shell,
except that it's Gotenks and not an energy blast. Great attack.

S.G.K.A. (E 50)
Down A+X: Gotenks summons 6 of his energy ghosts and sends the downward. They
detonate if the enemy hits them, but they explode by themselves if not. Great
attack, best used at medium range.

Super Ghost Bomber (E 150)
Down A+X: Gotenks summons a butt-load of his energy ghosts and sends them at
the enemy. Use this ultimate the sencond you get it!! Sweet animation, great
damage, all around easy to use.

V for Victory (E 150)
L: This ability increases Gotenks attack power, no conditions, use it!

..::Team Attacks::..

Volleyball Attack (Gotenks (SS3) and Buu (Evil))
Buu absorbs Gotenks, traps the enemy in the Galactic Donuts, and finishes with
a Kamehameha. Great team attack for an overall great team.

..::Strategies::..

Hit the enemy/charge up to gain 200% energy and use V for Victory. After this,
use Galactic Donuts, and spend all your energy prolonging the attack. If the
enemy is still alive, use melee attacks and Boar Rushes to finish him off.

..::Info::..

..::Alternate Names: ::..

--==Buu (Evil) - (BUUE)==--

..::Attacks and Abilities::..

Zex Breaker (E 50)
Up A+X: Buu shoots out lightning in an X pattern, each one going higher. Great
attack, you can use this attack as an opportunity to charge your ki, great
distraction.

Mad Kill Dive (E 50)
Left/Right A+X: Buu turns into a ball, and creates a balloon around the enemy,
damaging him. Great attack, very hard to dodge; if you're fighting against
Buu, shoot some Ki blasts to stop this attack.

Assault Rain (E 50)
Down A+X: Buu raises his hand and shoots a butt load of energy blasts at the
enemy; great attack, but you can't move while using it, so make sure it
connects. You can prolong this attack greatly by repeatedly pressing A+X.

Hydra Smasher (E 150)
Left/Right A+X: Buu turns into a ball and slams into the enemy multiple times
from various direction, and finishes it off by exploding in his face.

Power Shot (E 100)
L:

..::Team Attacks::..

Galactic Donuts (Buu (Evil) and Gotenks (SS3))
Buu absorbs Gotenks, traps the enemy in the Galactic Donuts, and finishes with
a Kamehameha. Great team attack for an overall great team.

Dark Sword Slash (Buu (Evil) and Dabura)
Buu charges a ball of energy, throws it at the enemy, which traps him in a
ring, allowing Dabura to come in and slash the enemy with his sword.

..::Strategies::..

Stay away from the enemy, and hammer him with Zex Breakers and strong ki
blasts (R+A). Get above the enemy and slam him with a prolonged Assault Rain.

..::Info::..

(Credit goes to Pow Pow Punishment for this bio)
The internal stuggle soon took place on the physical plane as good Buu battled
his dark counterpart. The pudgy good Buu was no match for his evil self and was
soon consumed to allow the transformation of the strongest Buu form seen yet:
Super Buu, now even more evil than before. A small sliver of humanity exists
within him yet, however. Opting to spare the life of the cowering Hercule, the
one who had befriended him in Buu's previous state, the newly formed monster
instead turned his attention towards the Kami Tower, the location of the
training Z-Fighters. His newfound ability to sense power-levels quicky led him
to his destination, where he mercilessly demonstrated to the heroes his "Human
Extinction Attack", effectively eliminating all life on the earth.

--==Hercule - (HRC)==--

..::Support::..

Hercule throws a stream of bombs in the direction of the enemy. A great attack,
works greatly as a distraction to let you charge your ki; you can also hit the
enemy while he's being pounded by the bombs to do more damage.

..::Team Attack::..

Super Spirit Bomb (Hercule and Goku)
Goku's best team super, this attack does major damage. Use this attack when
you can, because for a 1-4 DP character, this bomb is an instant killer! Use
Hercules's ability to distract the enemy while you charge your ki and smack
'em with this super.

Hercule Attack (Hercule and Buu (Good)
Hercule flies at the enemy, but his backpack fails, and he falls to his death
(or so it seems) while th enemy files after him for an easy hit. This fiasco
is time enough for Buu to sneak in a major attack. Great team attack, use at
your discretion.

--==Tien/Yamcha - (TNYA)==--

..::Support::..

Tien: Tien comes in above the enemy and pounds him with beam after beam, not
only doing great damage, but also distracting the enemy so you can charge ki.

Yamcha: Yamcha flies in and does his famous Wolf Fang Fist at the enemy and
makes his guard gage go up.

..::Team Attack::..

Warriors of Earth (Tien/Yamcha and Krillin)
Krillin, Yamcha, Tien, Chiaotzu, and Yajirobe all team up to form this awesome
team attack. Krillin slams the opponent down, Yamcha uses his Wolf Fang Fist
attack, Tien and Chiaotzu uses Dodon Rays, and Yajirobe finishes it up with a
sword slice. Krillin's best team attack is easier to pull of because you can
activate Tien and charge you Ki until you can use this. Definitely recommended.

2 DP Support Characters

--==Zarbon/Dodoria - (ZBDD)==--

..::Support::..

Zarbon: From the left, Zarbon shoots a stream of energy blasts; this attack is
weaker then Dodoria's but it's a lot more accurate. Use this one to distract
the enemy while you charge or hit him with melee attacks.

Dodoria: From the right, Dodoria shoots out large energy blasts, doing more
damage to the enemy then Zarbon; the only downside is that the blasts are easy
to dodge. Use this one when you want to hurt the enemy.

..::Team Attack::..

Blind Meteor (Zarbon/Dodoria and Frieza)
Zarbon and Dodoria appear behind Frieza and pound the enemy with their beam
attacks, enabling Frieza to attack from behind the opponent and send him
flying.

--==Bardock - (BDK)==--

..::Support::..

Bardock: Bardock comes in and refills you energy to 200%! This support
character is one of the most useful in the game, put him in any team, and
you'll have a big advantage over your enemy.

--==Dabura - (DBR)==--

..::Support::..

Dabura: Dabura comes in and pelts the enemy with long spears. A great attack
overall, it also serves as a distraction, allowing you to charge ki for that
special attack, or to pound the enemy while he's paralyzed.

..::Team Attack::..

Dark Sword Slash (Dabura and Buu (Evil))
Buu charges a ball of energy, throws it at the enemy, which traps him in a
ring, allowing Dabura to come in and slash the enemy with his sword.

--==Cell Jr. - (CELJ)==--

..::Support::..

Cell Jr.: Depending on where you are, Cell Jr. comes in and repeatedly slams
the enemy back and forth. Great support, use this one to do damage, because
it's easy to dodge.

..::Team Attack::..

Cell Jr. Dance (Cell and Cell Jr.)
Cell creates six Cell Jr's just for this attack; they all fly at the enemy and
pound him once, letting Cell teleport in and Kamehameha the opponent. Great
attack, does great damage, use it!

3 DP Support Characters

--==Android #17/Android #16 - (#1617)==--

..::Support::..

Android #17: From below, #17 creates an energy "wave" around him in a circle,
effecitvely damaging the enemy and destroying all the energy blasts on screen.
This attack is very fast, so use it when you need speed over power.

Android #16: From above, #16 shoots a stream of energy blasts at the enemy.
This attack does great damage, but is very innacurate, so use it when you want
to distract the enemy.

..::Team Attack::..

Hell Spiral (Android #18 and Android #17/Android #16)
#18 and #17 grab the enemy, slamming him into the ground, creating a large hole
which #16 proceeds to blow to bits using his Hell's Flash. Great attack, it
might be my second favorite animation for any attack in the game.

--==Babidi - (BDI)==--

..::Support::..

Babidi: Babidi comes in and reverses the enemy's controls (left is right and up
is down. Great support, confuses the enemy, but not very useful against the
computer controlled enemies. Use this one if you are fighting a human opponent.

--==Dende - (DND)==--

..::Support::..

Dende: Dende comes in and heals a little chunk of your HP. Great support,
useful in any team, abuse this support.

--==Shenron - (SHR)==--

..::Support::..

Shenron: If all of your characters die, then Shenron comes in and revives the
last one to die. Also, if one of your teammates dies, you can revive him
prematurely by pressing L. Another great support, but don't rush for your DS
to see this one in action, it can only be used once in every battle. Still
great, but it doesn't give you the combos that some support give you.

5. Secrets

*WARNING*Very big spoilers follow! Do not scroll down if you want the game's
secrets unveiled.*WARNING*

Okay, ready? Here we go:

??? Mode

Beat Z-Battle mode to unlock this ultra-secret mode: Maximum Mode.
This mode pits you against the strongest warriors in the universe. Well,
actually, it is a mode with 3 difficulties, and in each, there's 15 battles
ranging from extremely easy to insanely hard. Good luck on this mode, you'll
need it.

Majin Vegeta

By putting Babidi and Vegeta (Super) in a team, Vegeta'll turn into Majin
Vegeta, a stronger version of Vegeta, with newer attacks. However, after you
completely beat Maximum mode, you'll unlock the ability to use Majin Vegeta
without Babidi. Hold down R when you select him (only after beating maximum
mode, and unlocking him).

Z

Z, from Akira's own manga, Neko Majin can be unlocked in the Japanese
version of the game, and only the JP version. To unlock him, you need to beat
maximum mode and z battle mode. When you do this, go to the main screen and
press: Up, X, Down, Y, L, R, L, R, Start. Now, before a battle hold R while
selecting a support character, and you'll get Z instead. *Credit goes to
VegettoEX for first submitting this info.*

Extra DP

After unlocking Maximum Mode, playing through it will give you more DP. In
easy, you gain 1 dp every 4 levels, in hard, you gain 1 dp every 5 levels, and
in Mania, you gain 1 dp every 6 or 7 levels for a total of 21 dp (or infinite,
in the game's terms.

Extra Support Uses

You can get 1 support use from beating story mode, 1 from watching the credits,
1 from completing tutorial mode, and 1 last one from beating Z-Battle mode
once, for a total of 7 support uses.

Three Person Team Combos

If you put any of these three people in one team, charge energy up to 200%, and
do a team attack, you'll end up with a special move.

Trunks (Super), Vegeta (Super), Gotenks (Super 3)
Goku, Gohan (Super 2), Bardock
Frieza, Cell, Buu (Evil)
Goku, Piccolo, Vegeta
Goku (Super), Gohan (Adult), Gotenks

I think that's about it for secrets, if you have any more, send them to me.

6. Frequently Asked Questions

Okey, here they are, originally from Kriby22003's help topic:

Q: What are the stages?

A: The stages are the following, with their ingame descriptions:

Ruins: A futuristic city destroyed by the Androids, A standard stage with a
good balance of attack and defense.

Time Chamber: Countless warroirs have come here to train. This stage is of
standard size.

Planet Namek: An Impressive open area of Namek. The wide, uniform terrain
gives this stage an enjoyable balance.

Ice Field: An icy landscape repeatedly used for filming movies. This stage is
of standard width, but it has a low ceiling.

Cell Games: Cell was fought in this ring; it's a wide stage with walls, and an
irregular organization.

Babidi's Spaceship: This room within Babidi's spaceship is the small stage in
the game. The walls are close and the ceiling low.

World Tournament: At the familiar location of the World Tournament, Buu makes
another appearance.

Big Geta Star: This is where Metal Cooler was fought; a stage with regular
organization.

Wilderness: A place where many battles have taken place. Airplanes can be seen
sometimes. Standard Width.

King Kai (Supreme Kai)'s World: Here in world of the Kais, the Zeta Sword,
thrust into a hill, is an impressive sight. A Standard Stage.

Uninhabited Island: An unhabited island; it's beauty is dampened a bit by the
bitter battles between the likes of Piccolo, #17, Cell, and Vegeta.

New Planet Vegeta: The planet where a fierce battle was waged against the
legendary Super Saiyan Broly. A Standard stage, with a good balance of attack
and defense.

Western Capital: A memorable stage for how showy it is. As a standard stage,
it has a good balance of attack and defense.

Karin's Holy Ground: Kami's Temple is located high in the sky; this stage is
the most wide-open in the game, allowing for maximum movement.

Damaged Namek: The legendary stage where Goku became Super Saiyan. Its narrow
confines make for intense attack and defense.

Q: How do I unlock this branch?

A: Ah... the most common question and the hardest to explain. I can't be
specific, but here are some hints for unlocking the maps:

- Beat the battle with perfect health
- Beat the battle with an Ultimate K.O.
- Win the battle by letting the timer run out
- Use three special attacks, and they all must hit. The third must K.O. the
  opponent
- Beat the battle with another character

Q: How do I unlock <insert character here>?

A: Even though this is a simple answer, it may be very useful. Beat ALL of
story mode. Sure, it sounds hard, but in the end, you might unlock more
characters than you wanted, and after beating story mode you get a small
reward that gets bigger and bigger for every mode you unlock. What is this
reward? It's called Dragon Power. However, if you want specifics, check the
Codes & Secrets section.

Q: What is Dragon Power and how do I unlock more?

A: Dragon Power may seem like a new idea in the SSW games, but in a sense it
actually isn't. Dragon Power is a system of levels in this game, though it
doesn't always mean a character with 1 Dragon Power is weaker than one with
7 Dragon Power. When you start the game, then a team can have a max of 7
Dragon Power. However, when you beat some modes like Story mode or Maximum
Mode, your Dragon Power increases, with the max of infinity.

Q: Can you change the languages in this game?

A: You can't, but that's for the U.S. version. I don't know about the
European version, but if you can read what I'm typing then you should
be fine.

Q: How do you choose more than one of the same character?

A: You can't.

Q: Is there a way to use the overpowered forms of each character?

A: No, and that would be extremely cheap.

Q: How do you change the difficulty of the computer in training mode?

A: You can't. I don't know why.

Q: What are the official web sites?

A: There are 2 official web sites, one Japanese and one in english. The
Japanese site offers the most info:

English: http://www.atari.com/us/games/dbz_ssw2_gba_action/ds

Japanese: http://www.bandaigames.channel.or.jp/list/ds_dbz01/

Q: Are there In-Game Transformations?

A: Sorta. Gohan (Kid), Gohan (Teen), and Gotenks can all go Super Saiyan from
there base forms. Also, some other IGT's are in Ultimate K.O. attacks.

Q: How do you delete the game data?

A: Like SSW, you can't. They should have fixed it by now, though.

Q: Does Gotenks still have a timer on him? And does Buu still slowly restore
health?

A: No, and no.

Q: Is this game Single-Card or Multi-Card?

A: This game is Multi-Card only. So if you want to play multiplayer, each DS
must have this game inserted in it.

Q: Are there Japanese voice settings?

A: No, there aren't.

Q: Is this game online?

A: No.

Q: Can I erase my save game?

A: Short answer: No.

Long answer: Yes. If you power off your system while the game is saving,
it'll corrupt the save file, forcing the card to delete it. To do that, go
into the Options menu, and change something (remember what it is), press
exit and power off. Now, when you restart, it'll say "Save file corrupted"
or something to that extent. If it doesn't, then go back to the Options menu.
If the thing you changed is set on what you changed it to, then you powered
off too late. If it's back to what it was before, then you did it too early.
It took me 13 tries to do it the first time, and only 2 or 3 the next time.

Note: Sander Booij sends the following tip concerning the above question:

"It's exact 1.4 seconds and then you must shut your DS down."

Oh, and don't worry about ruining the cartridge, corrupting won't harm the
game. Good luck!
