Welcome to another FAQ. The subject of this one is the DSi Ware title, Brain
Age Express: Math. The purpose - to teach mathematics and strengthen your
brain. Well, it looks like you need a little help. Come on in.
2. Some Quick Stuff****************************************M2****************
Upon starting, you are asked to give a pic of yourself, your name, and
birthday. Afterwards, you take a quick test to see your "Brain Age," or how
strong your brain is. 20 is the best score. Hopefully, you will score within
the 30s, at worst. This, if under 20 years old, is just a rough indicator, and
likely will change as you age and learn.
Afterwards, in the menu, you can do some Training, Themes, or another Brain Age
Check. You do some Training/Brain Age Check and you will get a stamp for the
day. Get enough of these and you'll unlock new modes, games, and options.
All of these things are covered in the following sections.
3. Training****************************************M3************************
I- Calculations x20 **M31**
1- Basic Rules **M311**
On the left screen, you'll see simple addition, subtraction, and mulitplication
problems. Remember, SIMPLE. We aren't saying 13 x 23, but more like 0 x 1, and
so on. On the right screen, you write your answer. If correct, you go on to the
next one. If not, you are penalized and go to the next one. There are 20
problems. You should aim to solve this in less than 30 sec.

Here are some sample problems of what you may see during this mode. The answers
are to their right.

II- Calculations x100 **M32**
1- Basic Rules **M321**
On the left screen, you'll see simple addition, subtraction, and mulitplication
problems. Remember, SIMPLE. We aren't saying 13 x 23, but more like 0 x 1, and
so on. On the right screen, you write your answer. If correct, you go on to the
next one. If not, you are penalized and go to the next one. There are 100
problems. You should aim to solve this in less than 2 min, 30 sec.

2- Hard Mode **M322**
(Need to get 23 stamps)
This mode also puts in a few division problems. These problems will also be
simple and HAVE NO REMAINDER. Therefore, do not have something like 5r2, 5.2,
or 5 1/5 as your answer, as these WILL be incorrect.
You also will not see a problem like 5/0 or 0/0, so do not have infinity or
any number as your answers. Those are the answers to those problems
respectively, but those problems will not appear; therefore, those answers
will not, either.

Here are some sample problems of what you may see during this mode. The answers
are to their right.

III- Sum Totaled **M33**
1- Basic Rules **M331**
Sum up all of the numbers on the left screen. After adding them, put the sum
on the right screen. If incorrect, you go to the next one. If correct, you do
anyways. Aim to do this in less than 60 sec.

2- Battle Mode **M332**
(Get 5 stamps)
Enemies appear on the left with numbers attached to them. Sum up these numbers
and write your answer on the right screen. If correct, the enemy is destroyed.
If you take too long, you lose one of three HP. Try to win before losing all
three HP. Try to get at least 100 points your first try.

On the left screen, you'll a dollar amount as a digital number. Below it, you
will some bills, which total to be larger than the digital number. You have to
figure the difference between the two numbers, and on the right screen, pick
the bills and coins that make that EXACT amount.

During this mode, you see three numbers at the top of a triangle. Between two
numbers, you'll see a + or -. That means you have to add (+) or subtract (-)
the numbers that have this symbol between them. Afterwards, you'll have one
more +/- to do to get your answer.

Same as normal mode, but you start with four numbers, not three.

During this, you'll some people in a house. Some may leave and enter. But you
also have to solve some problems. Write math calculations' answers on the
right screen WHILE keeping track of how many people are in the house.

I see no difference between the two, except that this mode goes faster.

3- Sample Problems **M373**
I will say the number of people, and then make the problems. As the answers
come up, people will go in/out. Keep track of this. Only one example.
AT START: 3 people.
7 x 7 = 49 (One person leaves)
4 + 4 = 8 (Two people leave)
1 + 2 = 3 (Nothing)
3 - 3 = 0 (Five people enter)
3 x 0 = 0 (Four people leave, three enter)
There are 4 people in the house.

VIII- Virus Buster **M38**
(Get 12 stamps)
(Receive a stamp for the day)
This is just like Dr. Mario. You take the pills and line up the appropiate
colors with the corresponding viruses. If there is a line of four of the same
color vertically (up & down) and/or horizontal (left & right) then the pill
pieces and viruses (if any) disappear. Destroy all of the viruses to complete
that level.
4. Themes****************************************M4**************************
I- Acting **M41**
In this theme, you use the DSi Camera to take picture of your face of how you
would act in various situations.

Using the stylus, draw a picture of what is described on the left side.

Using the Mic, talk into and say, with feeling, what you are told to say. Try
to say it as if it is really happening.
5. Brain Age Check****************************************M5*****************
I- Basics **M51**
You will take three tests. Depending on how fast and accurately you finish
these tests, you may get a good or bad Brain Age score. Doing this will also
give you a stamp for the day, if you have not gotten one yet. The scores are
only saved ONCE per day. From 12:00.00 AM to 11:59.59 PM is the time range for
a Brain Age check.

II- Tests **M52**
1- Speed Counting **M521**
During this, count from 1 to 120 as fast you freaking can. Pronounce each sound
distinctly. Aim to do this in less than two minutes, thirty seconds.

2- Number Cruncher **M522**
On the left, you see some numbers or varying numbers, colors, and animations.
Above them, you see something to count. For example, the yellow numbers or the
pulsing numbers. Write the answer on the left side.

3- Serial Subtraction **M523**
On the left, you see a number. Above it, you see that you have to keep
subtracting this number from that number. For example, if you have 85 and have
to keep subtracting 7 from it, the answers, in order, would be

Just keep subtracting until another subtraction would take you into the below
zero/negative numbers.

4- Math Recall **M524**
At the start, you see a number. Then, it is marked out and another number and
operation symbol comes up. Complete the answer. As you do, the unmarked number
becomes marked over. Another operation and number comes up. This cycle will
continue until you have answered all of the problems.

5- Number Memory **M525**
You get two minutes to remember as many numbers and their locations as you
possible can. After that, you tap a box and put the appropriate number in it
by writing it. You get, I think, two or three minutes.

6- High Number **M526**
All you must do is tap the highest number of the set. As you go, numbers get
closer together and may move. You will not (seemingly) get penalized for
picking the wrong number, but you do have to do that set again.

Makes a picture of everyone and their Brain Age scores that were taken most
recently.

Check the graph and your progress in each Training program and Brain Age.
Top 3
See your top three scores in each Training program or Brain Age Check game.
