you need to make the grapple hook. go to the place where you craft objects. you will need to make rope from 3 vines (then you should recieve a template to make a new object). you will also need a heavy anchor which you find on the boat in the ocean. once you have made the grapple hook just go to the cliff face and it's simple from there.
