1) When you meet the chef, you will see that there is an arrow to the right. Follow it and then you will meet a fallen tree. It says you need a chisel and hammer.
2) You get the chisel after you finish the chef's chili quest. But first you have to build the fire with it.
3) Once you're done building the fire, go to Dr. Feelgood and trade with her. Tap on the hammer handle, that looks like a wooden pole and it will say that it needs a Puffer fish (You spear fish in the day for that one), a Fuchsia bug (You have to go bug hunting and kill all the bugs and you will find a bright pink bug, kill that one), a Jade bug (same with the Fuchsia), and a green bug (you don't have to kill all the bugs for this one). Trade for it and then you will get the hammer handle.
4) In order to go make the hammer head you have to go to the crafting station. You will need 1 vine (you get it on the right of the yam plant), 1 rock (you'll have to dig that up), and that hammer handle. Then make the hammer.
5) Go back to the fallen tree and then tap on it and tap "make". It will take 3 Sims days to create it. You have to make it then sleep three times.
