This is actually quite easy on the how, part to get rid of it. Just shoot the eyes thats all but it just reappears after a while. I think (not sure exactly) it's after you knock of a lot that the numbers goes down until your with the last few, but you should get them down eventually. And if your wondering how to avoid the blasts, just shoot the blasts and you should also get green hearts to refill also. Its a quite an easy boss at this stage but just frustrating when they reappear.

This is quite a hard boss level and I'm stuck too.
Just do what Zeargo said. The hardest thing is when they fire those pink balls at you.
