Hi I put in the event code in my ar and selected it after I went into the game and b4 going in the mart I pressed and held l,r but when I got in the green guy wasnt there y is that also I just started it do I need like a badge to do it first?

There are a few possible problems you're having.
For one, it could be a corrupt code, meaning it just doesn't work. Try and find a different one.
Else, you may not have pressed L+R at the same time, or not all the way down. They must be pressed all the way down, at the same time.

Basically what Austinanymous said execpt you might have the wrong region code(like haveing a japanese cod for the US version)
