im confused

When I look up cheats for this game it says something like "if you have the Pokemon emerald game cartridge in the DS GBA slot, you will find this Pokemon at this place." Well some of those areas arent in Pokemon pearl, so I was just wondering...how do I get to those areas?

Well you need to fill up you're pokedex by seeing every Pokemon in sinnoh so you can get the national pokedex which unlocks the pal park. This is what the cheats mean. You have to have Pokemon in your party on emerald,or any other GBA Pokemon game,then go to the pal park on route 221 and talk to the guy so you can catch the Pokemon from your party from emerald on pearl.
