Hey guys just wanna knw wats up wit ruins manic hiding in dat cave. He said lets have a race to see how long it took 4 me to catch an unown and 4 him to dig so I went and caught an unown and went bak to talk to him but hes still telling to have a race what do I do?????? And anutha question do I realli need dat special flute to catch arceus????

About the Ruin Maniac: you have to catch one of each letter (26 total) and then go back to talk to him and he will have "punched through" into the Solaceon Ruins and into a room that will let you catch the symbols "?" and "!".
As for the Azure Flute:yes you do need it if you want to try and catch Arceus.

The answer to the first question is: you have to catch all the Unknowns other than "Question Mark Unknown" and "Exclamation Point Unknown". The answer for the second question is: YES!!

OK, the Ruin Maniac will dig the more Unown you catch. When you get thirteen, he digs to the halfway point. When you get twenty-six, he digs all the way to a hidden room of the Ruins, where Unown Question Mark and Unown Exclamation Mark are.
And yes, that is the only way, besides Enocounter Modifying codes, to catch Arceus.

You have to get a certain amount of unknown. When you catch your first 8 he will go a little farther do it again and then one mor time and he will be at some other place this may take a while and all it gets you is a nugget (i believe) and a shortcut to a different place.

Well first try and capture Uknowns A-Z. Then go back, and he should had dug a bigger path. At the end of it, there should be a hole and him standing next to it. Go into that exit, and you'll enter a cave. Nothing is special about it except that you could capture Uknown ! And Uknown ?. To get the Azure Flute for the capture of Arceus, you must first get a Mystert Gift. Open the Mystery Gift. You should get these following items: Azure Flute, Member's pass, Oak's Letter. Other than that you could use a cheat device to get the Azure Flute. Cheating Devices: Action Replay, DS Code Breaker, and Game Shark

Hey Ultima. I will help you :D
The archaeologist will actually tell you that he wants you to catch every unown if you talk to him later on. So that actually means that not only will you have to catch one Unown, but you will have to catch Twenty-three other models of Unown.
Once you catch all 24 Unown types, his tunnel will be finished.
So yeah, that is pretty much what you do 
As for Arceus...no, you do not really need the Azure Flute. If you can find someone who has an Arceus, and they trade it to you, then you did not have to use the flute did you? If you want to get Arceus by yourself, then yes, you will need the Azure Flute.
