Some places are only available post-game, and I'm not sure where exactly you talk about, but in Wormword Creek, you need to look around a lot. Some places look like dead-ends but they aren't, and that part of the map (assuming you are on your way to Upover)has a lot of twists and dead ends. The plus to that is that most of those dead-ends have materials to be gathered for alchemy. Just explore around and you'll find it.
