Skull & Bones seemingly shifting to a live-service model

It looks like Ubisoft is rebooting their Pirate multiplayer game Skull and Bones to follow a live service model, similar to games such as Fortnite and Apex Legends. The game was originally revealed at E3 2017, and was then subsequently delayed into 2019. However, since then, there has been no word on the release date. According to development sources the game had been struggling to carve itself a unique position among Ubisoft's existing portfolio of open-world games, and thus shifting away from the premium box model such as games like Assassins creed and Division.
