Monster Hunter World's PC release crushed the concurrent player count on Steam, and more

Monster Hunter World has officially launched on PC this week, and marked a huge milestone for both the game and Steam. Thanks to SteamCharts, the site reports that in just 24 hours, the concurrent player count peaked at 240,901 which is the highest of any Steam game so far this year, and seventh highest peak of all time. It's yet another milestone for Capcom and Monster Hunter World, which was the fastest selling game in capcom's history when it first launched on Consoles. The previous japanese game record holder for concurrent steam players was Dark Souls 3 with 129,831.
