Developer Hi-Rez will be removing the pay-to-win 'Cards Unbound' system from Paladins

Paladins from developer Hi-rez also seemingly had to go through some growing pains in regards to loot boxes. In november 2017, Paladins introduced the Cards Unbound system which emulated Battlefront 2's system of upgrading their characters. A card would only be upgraded after a set number of duplicates were collected, but since the currency to craft specific cards was removed, the only way to get duplicates easily is to purchase chests with gold or crystals, essentially becoming a pay to win scheme.
