Bungie awarded $13.5 million in damages from cheat company

A company that develops cheat codes for Destiny 2 has agreed to pay Bungie $13.5 million in damages. The company has also agreed to a permanent injunction against the creation of any new cheating software for Destiny 2. Bungie accused company Elite Boss Tech of violating the game's user agreement with its software. This in turn cost Bungie an exorbitant amount of money in developing new anti-cheat technology to combat it. Bungie also noted that the software disrupted player experiences and damaged Destiny 2's reputation, threatening the game's commercial viability.
