Batman: Arkham City Official Box Art Revealed

The excitement is building for the launch of Batman: Arkham City, which will be available beginning October 18th in North America for Xbox 360, Games for Windows PC, and PlayStation 3 -- and today the reveal of the official Box Art for the game should nicely grab our attention!

Over the course of the past 30 years there have been many attempts at capturing the essence of what it means to be the Dark Knight within the world of a video game, but until Arkham Asylum none of those efforts even came close to the experience. It was Arkham Asylum that finally delivered an experience that was as close to being Batman as we are every likely to get -- so the news of the sequel is an even bigger thrill.

Batman: Arkham City builds upon the intense, atmospheric foundation of Batman: Arkham Asylum, sending players soaring into Arkham City -- five times larger than the game world in Arkham Asylum -- and the new maximum security "home" for all of Gotham City's thugs, gangsters, and insane criminal masterminds.

Set inside the heavily fortified walls of a sprawling district in the heart of Gotham City, this highly anticipated sequel introduces a brand-new story that draws together a new all-star cast of classic characters and murderous villains from the Batman universe, as well as a vast range of new and enhanced game play features to deliver the ultimate experience as the Dark Knight.

At E3 we had the opportunity to demo the game -- and the stunning experience of seeing Catwoman, who was the major character reveal at the Expo -- but it was the presentation that really caught our imagination, as it began with Batman gliding over the darkened streets of Gotham, giving us a flirtatious introduction to the very lithe and versatile Catwoman. Stay tuned to Gaming Update in the coming weeks as we bring your our E3 Preview, and more details about the game that appears set to deliver an even better Batman experience!

The Official Box Art for the Xbox 360 Version of Arkham City sends goosebumps down our spine!
