How to Save your Game
It is essential while playing Maid of Sker that you save your game as often as possible. This however can only be done manually as the game does not have any autosave system or a menu that you can visit at your convenience whennever you want to save your progress.
What Maid of Sker has instead are 'save rooms'. These rooms can be identified by their green door, they tend to be small and have a phonograph inside. A phonograph (see screenshot below) is a device that looks like a gramaphone and was used for mechanical recording and reproduction of sound during the era the game is set. If you have found a map for your current area save rooms will be marked on it with a phonograph symbol. In order to save your game you must ineract with the phonograph, when you do so you will save your game.
You will find however that at certain points of Maid of Sker these save rooms become scarce and you will have no choice but to backtrack in order to save your game. It is recommended that every time you make a decent amount of progress you visit a save room. As well as a phonograph you will also find an audio log in every save room which will narrate the game's story and slowly unravel what is going on.
