Little Nightmares 2 Cheats and Tips

Little Nightmares 2 follows Mono, who must work together with Six, the girl in the yellow raincoat, to survive the horrors of the Pale City and discover its dark secrets. As they explore the world, the pair will occasionally encounter platformer-like situations or are blocked by puzzles that must be solved to proceed.

  • How to Get Yellow Raincoat Hat

    After you escape The Hunter in the woods in the first chapter you will have Six's help in jumping over a bridge to continue. Once Mono is over the bridge you will spot the yellow raincoat hat in a cage to his left. To collect the hat you need to climb up the cages that are stacked up against the tree. Once you reach the top you need to jump three times to make the hat fall to the ground. Then simply jump down from the stack of cages and grab it to add it to your inventory.

    You will now be able to pause the game, select the 'Hats' option, choose the yellow raincoat hatHo from your list of hats, and press X if you are on PlayStation, A on Xbox, or Y on Nintendo Switch to equip it. When you now resume the game you will be wearing the yellow raincoat outfit from the first game.

  • How to Get the Hospital Key

    To get the hospital key in the third chapter of Little Nightmares 2 that unlocks the upstairs door you need to go all the way to the right until you get to the X-ray room. When you look to your left once you are inside you will see a board that has X-ray scans on it. One of the X-ray scans will be of a teddy bear with a key inside of it. You will find the teddy bear lying by the cabinet on the right side of the room.

    Drag the teddy bear to the freight elevator just outside the door that's to the right of the x-ray machine. This is hard work for Mono as the teddy bear is bigger than him so you need to give Mono time. Take the elevator down and throw the teddy bear into the incinerator. Then jump on the handle to turn it on. After it has burned up, jump in and grab the key that's left in the remnants, then head to the locked door with it.

  • How to Solve Elevator Puzzle

    When you reach the fourth chapter of Little Nightmares 2 there will be a point where you and Six rides up an elevator and when you reach the top realize somebody needs to open the door of the elevator from the outside. To solve this puzzle you need to pull the same lever you used to make the elevator go up and ride it back to where you started. Then instead of riding it all the way you instead jump to the right about halfway up so you land on a ledge.

    From there you will find some boards that you can climb that lead you into an opening. If you traverse upward you will eventually emerge right outside of where the elevator comes to a stop. Now you need to find the key that opens the elevator door which you can find by running over to the room on the left and opening the bottom right drawer. Now go inside the elevator and send it down, there is a slight delay allowing you to jump out of the elevator before it descends.

    Now when you have Six boost you up to the lever on the left of the elevator it will be called back up. If you jump in the elevator shaft right before it gets back to the top floor you will end up on top of it.

  • How to Beat the Thin Man

    The Thin Man appears and captures six during the first quarter of the fourth chapter of Little Nightmares 2. For Mono to escape and rescue Six you must have him tune The Thin Man just like you would the TV transmissions. All you have to do is use the analog sticks to mirror his movements.

    When you do this you will be pushing The Thin Man back so he can't grab you. Do this four or five times and he will evaporate into thin air. You then just need to tune the buildings around you so that it transports you to a purple door.

  • How to Solve the Purple Door Puzzle

    After you defeat The Thin Man in the train section of Little Nightmares 2 you will be faced with a challenging puzzle in the form of a seemingly endless loop of purple doors. To solve this puzzle you need to approach each doorway and listen for the lullaby song. The trick is to always go through the door where you can hear the song. Going through any other one will reset the loop.

    When you pass through the first door you will enter another area with three doors. Once again, you need to choose the door playing the lullaby song. This time when you pass through the door and go up the stairs you will come to four doors. Like before the door you need to go through is the one playing the lullaby song, but then you need to open the door on the bottom right.

    When you do this it will reset the loop but will open the necessary door for your next loop for you to be able to go through. When the loop resets, go through the door on the top left, then pass through the now-open door on the top right. This will take you to a room that has seven doors.

    Before you go in the correct one on the bottom right of the screen, push over the plank in the middle of the room. Doing so allows you to cross back over the gap after you go through the correct door. Now just cross the plank and head immediately to the door on the left. The next door is just to the left when you exit.

Hat Locations Guide

One of the collectibles in Little Nightmares 2 are hats, and you can customize your look using one of the 12 hats you can earn in-game. Most of the hats can be found through natural progression through the game but there a few which require you to solve simple puzzles. Collecting the hats will also enable you to unlock the following achievements/trophies.

Unlock the Half Hat Achievement/Trophy:
Collecting 6 hats

Unlock the Far Ahead Achievement/Trophy:
Collect 12 hats

Unlock the How Do I Look? Achievement/Trophy:
Wear the final hat - the cowboy (fedora) hat. This hat is earned when you complete the game.

How to Unlock the Bonus Ending

In order to unlock the bonus ending in Little Nightmares 2 you must find all 18 'Glitched Remains'. These collectible after-images are scattered throughout Pale City and collecting them all will not only unlock an extra scene after the ending but also the No More Remains achievement/trophy.

To find all the glitched remains you will need to find optional rooms and hidden secret passages, and you will not be able to discover them all in one playthrough, this means you will need to replay chapters in order to find them all. You can keep track of your collectibles including your glitched remains by looking at the completion counter on the 'Chapter Select' menu. How to Solve the X-Ray Puzzle

Near the beginning of Chapter 3 there is an X-ray puzzle you need to solve. When you awaken in the hospital you will see an out of service elevator that requires two batteries to open. There is however a corridor which has an examination room with an X-ray machine inside. To the right of this room there will be another room which will have three teddy bears, one of which contains a key.

Take all three teddy bears to the X-ray room and observe each X-ray on the wall to find out which one contains the key. Once you have learned which teddy bear contains the key you need to take a ride down in the elevator that is nearby to the furnace that is below. After you have incinerated the teddy bear you can retrieve the key form inside it's belly and use it to gain access to the room that is upstairs and find the two batteries that are needed to operate the main elevator and proceed from this area.

How to Defeat the School Children

In Chapter 2 you will encounter The School Children which are living puppets that hesitate for a second before they attack you. It is crucial that you pay attention for this momentary pause in movement because if one lunges at you the game is over as they only need one hit to take you down. The School Children however can themselves be taken down by a single hit from any weapon but in order to do so you must time your attack perfectly. The way to do this is to hold your ground when one of them runs at you and wait for them to pause before their attack. Immediately this happens you need to take a step forward and swing your weapon, so you perform a clean hit. It is important that you step forward because if you remain still your weapon will likely be out of range.

How to Defeat the Crawling Hands

In Chapter 3 you will encounter the Crawling Hands which are tricky enemies to take down as they have the ability to dodge your attacks by jumping either sideways or backwards when you attempt to hit them and then counterattack you.

Crawling Hands will not charge straight at you when they attack, they will stop just out of your weapons reach. Pay attention for when Crawling Hands rear back as this means they are about to strike.

The best strategy to defeat them is to sprint away while holding a weapon and dodge their attacks. You will be able to easily avoid their lunges if you move sideways, and it is then when they land and try to recover from their stunned state that you need to attack them.

It takes 3 hits to defeat Crawling Hands. The trick to make this fight easy is to not hit them first but to sidestep their lunge and then deal with them while they are dazed.

How to Defeat the Prosthetic Patients

In Chapter 3 you will encounter the Prosthetic Patients which is an enemy that comes to life when they are in complete darkness. In order to fend of this enemy you will need to use your flashlight which will freeze them in place when it's light reveals them. This enemy can not be killed.

Whenever a Prosthetic Patient is in your vicinity the controls of your flashlight will change, the 'Look' control will become a rotation control that will enable you to look in one direction and point your flashlight in another. The best strategy for dealing with this enemy is to move slowly making sure you light up areas of darkness as you advance to ensure no Prosthetic Patients are hiding in the shadows.
