Gather Resources

At the start of the game it is important that whenever you are not in any immediate danger from zombies you gather as many crating materials as possible. In particular use your Axe to chop down trees for wood, build yourself a Pickaxe so you can crush stones to collect stone materials and search for patches of grass so you can collect hemp. You will find that these three materials tend to make up a lot of the items you need to craft in the early stages of your journey.

Get a Bed

Using a bed will restore the health (HP) of your character when it is low. You can get a bed for free by exploring the cabin area or alternately, you can craft a bed yourself using the material bench.

Craft Bandages

Using bandages will enable your character to increase their HP if it is low. Bandages can be crafted using Hemp which can be obtained in the Wilderness.

Sniping

Once you have high crafting levels build stairs in your base that connects to a high perch of some kind which can be used for sniping. Take advantage of this high vantage point to pick off zombies that try to enter your home.

Weather Changes

Always be aware of the weather as it can affect your character in a negative way when it changes severely. You will be fine in sunny weather but if it is raining and your survivor catches a cold they will be severely slowed down and unable to sprint. Make sure you have a torch for the evening hours when it gets bitterly cold otherwise your character runs the risk of getting frostbite which will deplete their HP.

Backpack Items

Whenever your character dies they will lose the items they had in their backpack. Once your survivor has respawned either on a random location or at home you can claim back the items that you los in your last life by visiting the place your character died in their last life. This location will be marked as a backpack icon on the mini-map. You will though need to go there as soon as possible.

Feed the Dog

If you assign your dog as a guard you need to ensure that you feed it otherwise it will be in a bad mood and will not follow your commands. To improve the mood of your dog you can feed it bones, meat, milk, watermelon, milk, and vegetables.

Participate in Events

An easy way to earn money and get precious items is to participate in the Events. To check ongoing events tap the cluster of balloons icon on your screen.
