Journey to the Savage Planet is a first-person sci-fi exploration, adventure, and puzzle-solving game that also includes some crafting and shooting. You play the role of the newest recruit to Kindred Aerospace who is dropped onto an alien world with only a scanner and a laser pistol and tasked with surveying all of its creatures, plants, caves, and rivers to find out if it is fit for human habitation. Check out our Journey to the Savage Planet Walkthrough and Guide to get help in the game.
Deposit your Resources
Although you can regain your resources after you die it is not always guaranteed and at times will not be convenient. It is therefore recommended that you regularly return to your ship so you can deposit everythng you have collected in storage. This is done automatically when you are inside the Javelin's habitat.
Search for Hidden Paths
The paths that lead to the alien chests that contain Orange Goo and Alien Alloy inside are not always eye-level or visible. Always look for ledges and grapple points that lead up, check near the edges of cliffs for ledges below you, and cut down space grass as there may be a concealed cave entrance behind it which you can crouch through. Check out our How to Open Alien Chests to learn how to access their contents.
Revisit Explored Areas
As you traverse planet ARY-26 you will come across places you can't access or reach. Make a note of them and return to them once you have the required upgrade.
Upgrade your Visor
Make sure you complete the optional Science Experiments side missions once you start recieving them as these collection-type tasks are worth doing as they will allow you to unlock new tiers of upgrades at your ship's 3D printer. There are three sets of Science Missions and completing the first set (Rank: 1 - Junior Explorer) will unlock the Orange Goo and Alien Alloy Detector upgrades for your visor. This upgrade for your visor is essential as it will mark Orange Goo or Alien Alloy on your HUD while scanning.
Orange Goo and Alien Alloy
The two resources you should prioritise while exploring planet ARY-26 is Orange Goo and Alien Alloy. Orange Goo increases your health and stamina while Alien Allow is needed for each of your upgrades. You will come across both resources naturally as you progress through the game. Orange Goo can typically lives in paths of space grass which you will have to cut down.
Feeling Lost

Check out our How to Fast Travel guide to find out everything you need to know about teleporting directly from one area of planet ARY-26 to another.
