Always avoid shooting the last ball if possible until the very end as shooting the last ball will bump the line of balls forward slightly. The best strategy is to focus on the front.

Shoot through a gap to earn bonus points. This is done by firing two balls in quick succession, the first ball opens the gap and the second ball passes through the gap. The smaller the gap, the bigger the bonus. If the ball that passes through the gap also creates an explosion then you will earn an even bigger bonus.

On each 6th level of an area there is a checkpoint, if you reach it and then lose all your lives you will start from there instead of from the first level of that area.

When you first start playing this game take things slow and steady and just focus on mastering the controls as the key to progressing is being accurate with the balls and efficient with your shots.

There will be a point when the levels become so difficult that just trying to survive will be hard. When this happens just focus on raking up that chain bonus, clearing balls near the front end of the row, and filling the meter as quickly as possible.

When you have balls that you are unable to use at that moment it is usually better to just shoot them into nowhere than to place them in the row.

Try to get every fruit that is within reach but without making silly moves that fill up your board. Collectiong fruit will quickly fill up the Zuma-meter to finish a level.

You can increase the bonus level by chaining together explosions, five or more consecutive explosions is considered a chain. Hitting fruit will not break the chain and raking up the chain bonus will fill the Zuma-meter faster.

The frog holds two balls at any given time and it is worth checking the ball that is 'on deck' before firing the ball that is in the frogs mouth as more often than not it will be a better candidate to fire.

To be able to make good decisions and be efficient you need to learn and understand the basic principles of the gameplay. Pay close attention in particular to the ball groups you destroy as gameplay will speed up with every new level and this information will be critical.

Whenver you make a triple or higher combo the line of balls will reverse giving you a breather. Use this time to check that the frog has the best ball of the two in it's mouth ready to fire.
