You can get free resources daily from the Basic (every 4 hours) or Deluxe (every 12 hours) version of the game via the Space Bridge. Their timers though will not reset until you claim them so you need to make sure you log on to the game regularly.

Join a League to get periodic resource drops and other free stuff.

Resist the temptation of spending gold on more Energon and save it for drops or characters. Recruiting new characters and ranking up will give you bonus Energon anyway.

A good strategy if you are able to spare the resources is to recruit all three characters (only two at later ranks) each time you level up regardless if you are going to use them as doing this will give you extra resources and some gold.

Play against an AI bot team to give yourself the best chance of locating specific hard to find resources which are needed to unlock characters.

Don't forfeit when the matchmaker puts you up against an obviously superior team because if you manage to take out one or two enemy bots you will obtain some valuable resources and your PvP rating will not decrease much in such instances.

Never leave Ability Points unspent unless you are going to win or lose on the current turn as they carry over between rounds and be used on a more expensive team ability.

When assembling your teams consider the team bonuses as this could be the difference in a game where every point of damage and armour counts.

This character is particularly useful to have as it has the ability of randomising incoming attacks so they are spread out over multiple characters, this can make a huge difference when facing human opponents as they tend to target your most threatening character straight away.
