It is important that you do not forget to equip items to yourself and your monsters as end-of-dungeon loot sometimes include stat-enhancing items. You will not be able to use the items early in the game but the ability will eventually become available.

Enter previous dungeons and fight the monsters within if you need money, dice shards, and experience. Doing this will also give you another chance to capture any monsters that you missed the first time around.
A good tactic is to always have at least two or three good battle dice on you so you are able to mix their effects to create a combination that will be affective against your foe. It is also good to have a couple of healing dice.
During the course of the game you will have the opportunity to take part in Capture Battles where you can recruit the creatures you battle for your party if you manage to defeat them.
