Ledges

You can bypass the need to find the teleporter by using fluids to push you off ledges and going to certain areas that allow you to jump off the ledge to the next area. To do this click off the land in the open air, you will then be prompted 'Do you want to jump?' and warned that you'll lose 30 health.

Enemy Movements

Enemies move at different speeds so it is important that you learn their movements and know how fast they can get to you so you. Most enemies will only move one tile per turn but others like the Hatchlings for example can move two tiles.

Blight Tiles

If a tile is partially covered or speckled in Blight you will be able to walk through it without taking any damage. If you walk across completely covered Blight tiles it will damage you for 5 health per turn (2 health if you have Blight resistance).

Avoid Trouble

Since the game is turn-based and enemies move each time you do it is best to avoid getting yourself into trouble by running blindly as dangerous enemies are liable to appear from nowhere. The best way to approach this game if you do not know what lies ahead is to take it one tile at a time.

Unidentified Fluids

When you have 60-70% of your health you can test unidentified fluids freely without killing yourself to see if they are restorative.

Fog

Whenever you encounter a 'Fog of War' you can get some idea of what is hidden inside it by taking small steps when you enter it and keeping an eye out for glowing red eyes. Eyes that move indicate enemies or Natives while stationary eyes will be either crystal rocks or random event objects.

Catapult Fluid

As long as they are close enough to each other you can also use catapult fluids to jump from one land area to another.

Natives

Take advantage of Natives by letting them deal with any dangerous enemies you encounter. Natives do not pick up loot and except for the purple Native Chiefs are peaceful until they meet a hostile enemy.

Items

If you want an item on the planet but don't have enough room in your inventory just drop or use another item first then walk over to the item you want to pick up. Any item you drop will remain on the ground where you left it so the thing to do is pick up a consumable item, use it and then pick up the original item you dropped.

Health

There is no 'Defense' stat in 'Shattered Planet', the only catagories are 'Strength', 'Wits', 'Fate', and 'Health'. The most important one is 'Health' as this is the only thing that will allow you to survive more blows.

Keycards

On every level there is a keycard which you need to find to open the metallic door which has an alien symbol on it. When you have the keycard approach the door and tap on it, the door will open and a bridge will unfold to a nearby room which more often than not will either contain loot or enemies.

Summonable Units

For Units that are unlocked by reaching a wave you will receive a unit for your current party regardless of whether or not you reached the summon limit. You can unlock their door when your current session ends by going to the 'Units' tab in the Upgrade shop.

Change Direction

If you want your clone to change direction in mid-walk before reaching it's destination just tap the new location. When you do this the clone will immediately change direction and head towards it's new destination. If you tap on the clones current location it will stop.

Enemy

If you find yourself being outnumbered or outgunned by the enemy you can always run away or if you need to get past them to reach the teleporter you can try and outmaneuver them, there is no rule that states that you have to kill the enemies in a level.

Levels

Some levels like the tech-heavy Yedor Labs for example are more difficult than others, when you encounter these levels and you are low on health or strong items it is best to leave that area as soon as possible. Other levels like the New Pampas are worth hanging around as sometimes they contain no enemies which allows you to wander freely stocking up on items and loot.

Room

Make sure you test unidentified fluids in a large room away from a ledge as some fluids are 'catapults' or 'teleporters' that will move your clone several feet forward or sideways.

Turrets

Keep an eye out for turrets when they start appearing in the later levels in the planet as they are capable of hitting your clone from three tiles away. If possible go around them or use liquids to catapult through their line of fire.

Explorer Mode

Before tackling a mission it is worth playing Exporer mode a few times as it gives you the opportunity to learn the enemies' general styles and which random events will help or hinder you as well as how to use different items.
