How do you get two sims to do something together

I'm currently trying to get two sims to get married. The quest is to watch a movie together but I can only get one to watch a movie at a time. How can I make them watch it together?

First, make sure your two Sims are in the same house. Next, select any sim, press the tv, and click “watch a movie”. Then, select the other sim, press the same tv, and click “join in”. Hope I helped!
