What happens when you demolish a sims house?

What happens when you demolish a sims house?

I'm thinking about demolishing my Neo Tokyo from a premium block and building the Teen Mansion. But what happens when you demolish a house? Does the town value go up or down? Does it cost anything to demolish? Are you able to save household items in inventory or sell them before demolishing a house?

I haven't found much useful information regarding this so any feedback would be great!

Comment:(Apr 2 2014) Well, my town value decreased, but not by much. My T.V. was somewhere over the 250,000 mark, when I demolished my neo Tokyo, it dropped just below, so adding a new house was a little cheaper - every time you reach a new T.V. milestone (normally every 250k increment) the value of new houses increase).

Also, when you demolish a house, everything goes, so to get the most back is to put everything in your inventory, or sell, including each individual room, even the trees! When it's a clear block, you can either keep it to maintain collecting rent or demolish it. It didn't cost me anything to demolish.

You can sell or save as much stuff as you want out of the house. I'd recommend putting it all into your inventory, but as far as value goes, I'm not sure if your Town Value will go up or down, so you'll just have to do it to find out. I think that it is free to demolish a house.

When you demolish a house you have to rebut the land. I learned this the hard way. Spent over 300K on a plot of land and pit walls where I didn't want them. I figured I'd demolish and restart, now I have to rebut the plot.

It is free to demolish a house. But before you do that I would suggest putting all of your things into your inventory. When you sell things you lose a lot of simelonieons for example if you buy a tree around 300 simelonieons then you click on it when you are on the move/sell screen it will show that you can sell if for around 30 simelonieons.

My Town Value went down too. I should be at around 14mil but am at 150k. I’ve built every house and keep demolishing one house to give me money. If you need to demolish, do it, but if you want the free LP from town value then don’t.
