In the cellar, how do you cut the tea bag with the knife? I've been trying but am unable to open the bag!

There is a knife a bit below it slightly to the left stabbed into a crate. Use it to rip the tea bag.

I have tried everything and watched the videos but I can though I can move the knife I cannot get it to rip the bag. Is this a glitch? I see one person was on an Android but I am on an iPad.
