Chill it is a little bit hard to find stones but if you make a cave there should be some. Belive me I started yesterday and the cave had a lot of good things but you need coal and wood to make lamps and some more wood to fence the entery but make sure you 1gate so you can get in

Collect wood from the trees and make a wooden pick axe in the Crafting table. Then mine stone with a pick axe and it will turn into cobblestone.

You have to use any pixaxe to mine cobblestone or you won't get anything
