Someone who I do not know asked me to be an in-game friend. Why would they do this? Are there issues letting people you do not know as a friend or are there advantages?

Friends can help fellow players by:
1. Fulfilling your boat orders
2. Buying your items at your Roadside Shop.
3. Reviving your Trees and Bushes.
4. Trade items that you need.
5. Enable to increase your Roadside Shop space.

It works both ways, so the more friends you have the better.
