Why are the attackers starting inside my walls?

In the Defense Log Replay it appears the attackers of my village are starting out already inside my walls? Can anyone explain why this occurring?

Look for white holes inside your walls after you move stuff around the white spots are where the enemy's army can spawn

It is likely that you have left an empty space in your village that is large enough to register a gap in the red zone. (One tile beyond occupied space is considered "Outside" regardless of the fact that it is truly inside your village.) A 3x3 gap will make a 1x1 entry for invading forces to get past your walls. Fill and/or surround that gap with bombs and spring traps. Almost anyone would "take the bait".
