HyperParasite Cheats and Tips

When enemies are about to attack in HyperParasite they will begin to flash. If you can hit them before the attack is unleashed you will interrupt the attack and you will be able to take them down easier. You can also interrupt an enemy attack by hiding behind an object to disrupt their line of sight.

Remember though that this will not work if they are an elite body. You can identify an elite body by the red circle that they have around them. As you are unable to interrupt an elite body attack you have no option but to dodge and keep your distance when they start to flash.

During the early game it is important that you focus on collecting as many brains as possible and pay them off in order to unlock host bodies. The more host bodies you are able to unlock the easier Acts and boss battles will become as you will be able to quickly jump from one host enemy to the next.

Money in HyperParasite is found in breakable objects such as barrels and crates and you will need as much of it as you can find to unlock host bodies. These same breakable objects may also contain health or upgrade items which are useful as it means you will not have to spend money on them. Make sure you bank your cash at the in-game store before attempting a boss. If you don't and you fail your last run would have been for nothing.

Use the Body Storage Capsules
While playing in Act 1 �?? Downtown you can store up to three host-bodies in Wito's shop. You can use them to survive as a parasite in Act 2 by retrieving a stored host-body from the shop and continuing your run.

Snatch a Miniboss
You chances of survival will increase if you Snatch a miniboss either straight from actually fighting them, or from a Storage. The Act 1 minibosses are Boxer, Werewolf, and Off-Duty Detective.

Upgrade Abilities
If you are not interested in completing HyperParasite in one long playthrough or feel you need more time to improve your abilities you may want to consider buying the Sewer key and entering the 'Sewer and Old Sewers' sub level. The benefit of doing this is there is an upgrade there you can collect that will enable you to lay the groundwork for when the game becomes more challenging. Getting the Sewer Key will also enable you to get the 'Going Deeper' trophy/achievement

Familiarise Yourself with Host Bodies
Make sure you take the time to familiarise yourself with each host body and their capabilites because when you find yourself trying to survive as a defenceless parasite in a boss fight you will not have much time to ponder who you are going to take control of.

Get All the Upgrades
Before you enter the room with the skull on the door to fight a boss make sure you have thoroughly searched every room on the map so that you have every available upgrade. You can check to make sure you have everything by seeing if there are any upgrade indicators on your map. You can quickly collect the upgrades you are missing by teleporting to their location.
