Hexonia is a board-game like, turn based strategy game where aim to is conquer the map with your tribe.

The game is a lot of fun, but you can easily fall behind in the game if you don't take the right route and make the correct decisions at the start of the game. Here are out top tips and strategies to help you get started.

1) Use your turns wisely

At the beginning of the game you'll have little resources and little ability to do much. You need to start off by collecting as many resources as you can and whenever possible build a new unit by tapping on your castle.

2) Move your units

Every turn you can move each of your units one tile. As soon as possible you need to start moving these guys out into the map to discover new areas and try to capture some of the villages.

3) Collect whatever you can

Each turn you need to try to collect whatever you can on the map. By default you start with the Frelia tribe, and that allows you to collect fruit without research. Everything else, you'll need to complete some research before it can be collected.

4) Each Map is random

Each time you play the game, the map you generate will be different and it will have different challenges. Note this when deciding on which research you want to conduct initially. For example if your map has tons of clams, then you should do Clam Research as early as possible in order to collect them.

5) Get Expand Sight

Early in game you will be offered extra 5 gold coins or to expand sight. While the extra 5 gold is handy to get you started, the +2 sight will help a lot in your decisions as to where to send your troops initially and save you some time.

6) Double up for battle

Try not to let your troops venture off too far alone. It's best to send them with at least one other troop, so if you encounter an enemy you be able to use both troops to attack. Remember you can also recover injured units.

7) Conserve your troops

Yes, it's pretty easy to just churn out loads of new troops, but as your troops do more actions in battle they gain more experience and can be leveled up to stronger troops. It's well worth putting some effort into healing your best troops to make sure they stay alive and get upgraded.

8) Connect your villages with roads

Improve your villages by connecting them with roads, this adds points to your villages.

9) Complete achievements to unlock more stuff
