Guts: It's What's for Dinner

Gathering Quest: Deliver 3 Monster Guts

Reward: 800z
Contract: 100z

Area: Deserted Island
Time: 50 min.

You need to gather and deliver three Monster Guts to complete this quest. Carve Epioth to find Monster Guts. Epioth are peaceful, aquatic herbivores -- the Aptonoth of the sea. You can find them in Areas 10 and 11.

Kill and carve Epioth for a chance to obtain Monster Guts.

There is a secret passage at Base Camp you can use to skip right to Area 9. To find it, walk down the steps straight across from the red Delivery Box and dive into the water. Continue swimming north through the underwater passage to reach Area 9.

Make your way to Area 10 and kill the Epioth there. Like the Aptonoth, an Epioth corpse can be carved twice. When Area 10 is clear of Epioth, swim through to Area 11. You're definitely not ready to face the Lagiacrus at this point, so swim back to Area 10 to find some fresh Epioth. If Lagiacrus enters Area 10, immediately start toward the exit to Area 11 and enter that area. You'll find another batch of Epioth here and, most importantly, no Lagiacrus.

The Lagiacrus will swim back and forth between Areas 10 and 11, so continue avoiding him by swimming into the next area. You'll know he's in the area when music starts  and an eye icon appears next your hunter's name in the top-left corner of the screen. Try your best to avoid being swiped by Lagiacrus as you swim past him to enter the next area.

Needless to say, you're not quite ready for him yet.

Keep this up until you have the three Monster Guts. Return to Base Camp and deposit the requested items into the Delivery Box to complete the quest.

The first time I tried this quest, I thought it would be easy, but then when there was only one epioth in area 10, I abandoned the quest and thought it was something wrong with the moga forecast, but then I tried the quest again and realized I should check area 11, and when I did, a cutscene played of laggi killing an epioth, and when he saw me, I swam like wholey heck, and when I thought I was safe in area 10, laggi followed me there and killed me, just abandoned the quest and never tried it since. AKA: laggi is EVIL!!

OK so laggy was taking a nap when I came back to area ten. Literally. I jump in the water, look at the new rock formation, realize that it is laggy, pee myself running as it wakes up. I think a paint round from a bowgun is safer than paintball. And would a paralysis round work on laggy?

Heh, urm, Laggy really isn't that hard to avoid. Make plenty of steaks to boost ur stamina, then RUN LIKE HOLY HELL WHEN HE ENTERS THE AREA. Another tactic I'm gonna try is waiting next to the door so when he enters I can leave. I REALLY hope I get the elavation right.

NEVER attack laggy, I had just started and was breezing through and thought that I could own laggy, so I grab my toughest weapon, and enter the game, then in zone 11 I see him, so, I shout "LEROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOY JENKINS" and charge already planning out how to use the item drops and then, the internet LAGGY (har har har) goes at me with this flippin electro charge and I die, now as a wiser hunter I tell you this, laggy is EVILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL.

Doesn't matter if you do this with Escadora or Vangis armour, they make lagi invincible in this quest.

oh great, now I can't complete the quest because I have anxiety like you would not believe. I thought I was safe when I went back to area 10, but then the music started and I couldn't get out of there fast enough. now it has been half a year since I even booted the game up, and I have been avoiding in zone 10 or 11 like my life depended on it. reading this does not help, if this thing is going to be chasing me throughout the quest... WHY DID THEY PUT THIS IN THE GAME?
