S7 M5: Last of the Palaiologi

Sequence 07, Memory 05 -- Last of the Palaiologi

As with the previous mission, to achieve 100% Synchronization on this mission you must complete it from start to finish without taking any damage.  The easy way to do that is to not do battle with anyone, and the way to do THAT is to use either bombs or poison darts to kill from a distance.  Depending upon how free you were with your bombs you may be running low on bomb components -- so try to get as many of what targets as you can with each bomb, right?

This is a very short very fast-paced mission so you will want to pay close attention to what is happening to you and around you!

There are Riflemen in this level and there is a slim chance that you will take a bullet from one of them -- if that happens you will blow the synch -- the only way to correct that is to restart this mission completely.  Let's hope you do not get unlucky then, right?

As the mission begins you are following Manuel -- depending upon where your comfort zone is that may mean following on the rooftops, or in the street -- it is really all about what you are used to and where you are the most effective defensively...

Recovering the Key you Thought was Lost Forever

For example on the street you will need to do a lot of running and dodging, and using your Hook Blade to do Hook-and-Jumps; on the rooftops it is more about keeping moving so that none of the Riflemen have the opportunity to actually aim at you and shoot.  As long as you are moving chances are good that they will miss any shots that they take.

Eventually Manual will reach what he believes is the safety of the gate, which closes behind him -- but you are an Assassin!  That gate is just another thing to climb up and over -- and you can see how shocked he is when in the middle of him telling you the way things are, with the gate between you, you jump over the gate and walk up to him!

Well he is not finished telling you the way things are, and the fact that you are standing on the wrong side of the gate (at least from his POV) -- and after he finishes telling you the facts of life he attacks!

Now remember, you are not to take any damage here!  So remain in a defensive posture and kill him with a counter-attack (counter-kill).  Once you succeed in executing the counter-attack and run him through the death scene epilogue plays, and you demand the Key -- and he gives it to you.

Retrieving the Lost Key

The scene then shifts to a boat near the docks -- and Ahmet (the current Sultan's Brother) -- takes up the duties of The Man Who Tells People Which Way Up Is...  But sadly he knows just enough to be a threat to you -- but mostly via Sofia, who he directly threatens to you...  Causing you to lose your cool and vow to kill him.  Well, of course he feels safe as houses, after all he is on a boat with a squad of henchmen and you?  You are on the docks!  And this is where the mission officially ends.

If all went according to plan you should have unlocked 100% Synchronization in the completion of this mission
