Last Updated: by Dennis

Going Under is a fun dungeon crawler that parodies capitalism and the culture surrounding it. You play the role of an unpaid intern in the dystopian city of Neo-Cascadia who explores the cursed ruins of failed tech startups. You wield office junk as weaponry as you make your way through the offbeat procedural dungeons beneath your company campus and attempt to vanquish various monsters that dwell there. The gameplay is action-oriented and chaotic, and emphasizes swapping weapons frequently and making use of junk you find in the dungeon. Going Under is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC. Take al look at our tips to get help in the game.

If you do not have that particular skill you will have to rely on Swomp stealing it for you.

How to get the Secret Hostile Takeover Achievement

To get the secret Hostile Takeover achievement you must defeat Vested Marv who is a project Manager at Fizzle. To encounter this boss you must first obtain three relics from each of the starter dungeons in order to unlock the mysterious portal dungeon where Vested Marv resides. This is not an easy dungeon to complete as it is at least double the size of a normal dungeon and there is only a few stores within it where you can purchase healing items if you take damage.

Target Ranged Enemies First

Make a point of targeting the ranged enemies first before you engage in combat with melee foes. The reason why this is important is that the camera in Going Under will not always give you the best view and you will be vulnerable to getting shot in the back if you are trying to fight melee enemies while a ranged one is present. Therefore you will make yourself a lot safer if you have take down the ranged attackers first.

How to get Non-Story Related Achievements Easily in Going Under

You will find it substantially easier if you attempt to pick up all of the non-story related achievements that are possible to complete in the first half of Going Under before the difficulty jump occurs in the second half of the game which makes them a lot less manageable.

Easy Unboxing Champ Achievement

You will get the Unboxing Champ achievement when you open 100 delivery cubes. All you need to do is keep opening delivery boxes that arrive whenever you complete a job, defeat a boss, or use the cubicle app. You can make getting this achievment quicker and easier by pinning the perk that lets you get two boxes per app.

You will get the Icebreaker achievement when you first meet your co-workers. This achievement is story related and cannot be missed, it will happen when you attend the meeting that automatically takes place when you complete the tutorial. The tutorial is completed when you enter the room of the boss, you do not have to defeat him.

Easy Clean Exit Achievement

In order to get this achievement you need to kill a Power Loader enemy with the Exit Strategist skill. In Going Under a Power Loader is a large mech with a drill attachment for an arm that and is found on StyxCoin, the third dungeon. The Exit Strategist is a skill that makes your dodge roll cause environmental items such as desks and tables to explode after you roll out from under them. These task are easy to do except the last one which is to take a photo using the app of a blackhat hacker enemy in the Styxcoin dungeon, one of which always spawns during the boss battle.

How to Win Boss Fights Easily

Save the caffeine app for bosses as this will make defeating them a lot easier. In Going Under you can use the caffeine app three times and it will temporarily increase Jackie's speed considerably. When used with the right skills against a boss the caffeine app will help you to deal massive amounts of damage quickly. The caffeine app will also help you to win a fight when you may not have the health to normally survive it.

How to unlock the Clutchgod Achievement

To get the Clutchgod secret achievement you must kill a Hungry Box which is a mimic cube. Essentially what you are looking for is a CPU cube that barks at you and chases you around. A Hungry Box looks like a normal cube but when you get close it will start attacking. The mimic cubes do not start spawning until the second half of the game when you have completed four dungeons and they are reset for story reasons. You will be able to find a Hungry Box mimic cube within the first floor in Joblin after the mid-point of the game.
