master emerald

Ok so I have completed this game with sonic tails and knuckles.

Now my question.

In this game knuckles collects all the pieces of the master emerald and restores it.but what I don't get is that in sonic adventure 2 battle he is searching for the pieces again.

Why?

Did the emerald break again? If so please tell me the story of it.

You obveosly havent played sonic adventure 2 battle and listend 2 tho story knuckes BREAKS the master emreald in the second oen 2 keep eggman from steling it... Eggman breaks it in the 1st one to unleish chaos
