If I beat the game on pro mode will I unlock the handcannon for normal and pro mode or just for pro mode?

No you only will unlock the handcannon by getting a five-star rating with every character on every stage on the mercinaries. But be warned this is a very hard task to accomplish in a certain time limit and with deadly enemies prowling about. Chainsaws, minigunners ect. But it is well worth it after you are blowing the crap out of multiple enemies at once.

To get a 5-Star rating in the Mercs, you must score 60,000 points in each zone with each character.
The Hancannon is free, but it only has firepower 30 and only 3 rounds. It will cost you 780,000ptas to upgrade the gun to firepower 99.9 and infinite ammo. Its firing speed is 1.17. The weapon can only be used in 2nd Round and later games. You cannot obtain ANY unlockable weapon in a 1st Round game.
