Orre Colosseum Event 1 hints and tips for Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness

Orre Colosseum Event 1

Now, before you even think about entering Orre Colosseum, you should have a couple of things in mind:

1. Have your Pokemon be all the same level. The opponent's Pokemon take on the level of your highest level Pokemon. Like you enter with three lv. 60s and one lv 85 in your roster, all the opposing Pokemon will be lv 85.

2. You enter with six Pokemon in your roster, but you can only use four of them.

Ideally, no two Pokemon can hold the same item.

3. You WILL NOT beat Orre Colosseum on the first try, unless you are really skilled. I entered with three Lv. 100s, and one lv 50, and I was chewed up, and spit out.

Battle 1: Hunter Greel

Pokemon: Parasect, Breloom, Slowbro, Jynx, Houndoom, Gardevoir

Greel likes to use Spore/Hypnosis, Focus Punch, and Dream Eater. Use a high leveled Banette(Insomnia ability) to get rid of Gardevoir, Slowbro, Jynx, a good Fire type (Ninetales and Arcanine work well) to make toast of Parasect and Breloom, and any Pokemon with Surf can get rid of Houndoom.

Battle 2: Rider Herlam

Pokemon: Spinda, Slowking, Cacturne, Lickitung, Grumpig, Smeargle

Have a good Fighting type to get rid of Smeargle, Lickitung, and Spinda. Switch to a Dark type to faint out Grumpig and Slowking, but beware of Confuse Ray. A Fire type is good for Cacturne.

Battle 3: Sailor Lestor

Pokemon: Stantler, Togetic, Xatu, Gumpig, Raichu, Butterfree

Lestor will guaranteed ALWAYS have at least one Flying type. Have a Dark type for Xatu and Grumpig, any type for Stantler, Ground for Raichu, and Ice for Togetic and Butterfree. Again, Confuse Ray is a threat here, so watch out.

Battle 4: Cipher Admin Lovrina (yet again)

Pokemon: Shuckle, Milotic, Wobbuffet, Blissey, Misdreavus, Meganium

Here's where you need to get creative. A good Houndoom will take care of Wobbuffet, Misdreavus, and Meganium, a Fighting type for Blissey, an Electric type for Milotic, and use everything for Shuckle.

The reward for this event is TM 06: Toxic, which is a move that gives your opponent a nasty Poison condition, and the Poison condition damage increases every turn.
