Nintendo GameCube and Sega have collaborated to bring a game whose objective is to bring together common roleplaying game objectives:

To include a series of characters with attributes and challenge them with a series of obstacles, and in this game these objectives are fulfilled with flying colours.

You play as a newcomer to a mystical crescent-shaped land that is shrouded by the deprivation of certain abilities in creating monsters. As you progress through the game, you help this civilisation recover these abilities — enabling you to design and customise your monsters.

While the ability to draw and create monsters seems promising, it is somewhat blighted by the proviso that you control the cursor on the screen with the joystick — but hey, you can't have everything, and that's the best they can do.

In case you're titchy about messing up the build of your monster, your friend at the temple will help you draw by analysing certain personal characteristics and opinions. Such use is nothing new, but the narrow-minded may find that very inaccurate.

The obstacles surrounding drawing your monsters notwithstanding, there are events that will demand a lot of energy from your monster, encouraging you to develop such that meet requirements in the areas of marine, aviary, and terrestrial endurance, be it weightlifting, aerodynamics, or similar.

Events of all focuses comprise most of the challenge series, so designing a monster for excellence in one area is out of the question, although sometimes power-ups are provided.

The game generally challenges the player's ability to engineer and evaluate, which can prove fruitful in the real world, such as construction and aerospace. But the objective, still, is to have fun at it!
