01= Version History and Future
---- No, not History 101. More interesting than that, at least.

02= FAQ (Multiple-choice)
---- Yeah. You've never seen this kind of a FAQ section before.... I think. If
you have anything you would like to ask or add, let me know. ;)

03= Controls
---- Similar to SN1, but if you're new, check this out.

04= Main Menu
---- Quick help with the Main Menu.

05= The Field Obstacles
---- So annoying... And, like always, they regenerate later.

06= Weapons
---- How to use them. And... a change from SN1?!! omg! Note: This is not
related in any way to Upgrading.

07= Rank
---- An addition from SN1. Interesting.

08= General Walkthrough Notes
---- Important if you're using this guide.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
09= Walkthrough
---- The whole point of this text document. If you already know everything,
      then start here already.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

10= Epilogue / Aftermath
---- Continue traveling.

11= Restart Summon Night: Swordcraft Story 2
---- Wow~

14= Upgrading
---- See note in this section.

15= Continuous (Major) Sidequests
---- List of some Sidequests I've found. Low priority. Don't bug me on this
section, but contributing would be nice. Note: I'm typing with my right
hand only; therefore, I might not have every single sidequest written -
nor do I have the time to find them all.

16= Conclusion/Thanks/Copyright
---- No longer as short and sweet as before, but close.

01==============================
== Version History and Future ==
================================

5 Final
-- I think this is pretty much it. I won't be working on this walkthrough
much any more. The contents and everything are going to stay the way
    they are.

4 BETA (Next Version)
-- Edited the Continuous Sidequests. This is as much as I'm going to do for
that section. If you have any questions, just follow the walkthrough.
Most of the Sidequests section is pretty redundant, anyway.
-- Finished going through the Walkthrough again and wrote a little bit from a
pure ATK perspective. Also fixed a few spelling and gameplay errors.
-- Also I've decided I'm not going to have any Upgrading section, since I
believe someone else already has this covered.
-- Summon Night Swordcraft Story 2 in ASCII art by Cangor (blueblazegames@
    gmail.com)

3 BETA
-- Started FAQ Multiple-choice. Something new that I've been thinking about.
-- Finished the Rampage Rabbit Golden Mono Shift part at the very end of the
    Epilogue/Aftermath walkthrough.
-- Rearranged some sections.
-- Added a Restarting SN2 section.
-- Added the walkthrough for the very first day (I skivved off on that for
versions 1 BETA and 2 BETA, but here it is!)
-- Add Day count (Days 1-11)
-- Added a few more General Walkthrough Notes.

2 BETA
-- Meant to be a quick-release to GameFAQs. Added the extras after sealing
Goura and made the Items Section.
-- Also prepared the Bestiary and other sections you see as not numbered yet.
    Denoted: (??=)

1 BETA
-- Have most things needed for a walkthrough only. Up to sealing Goura (no
    extra events written yet).
-- Went through the game while maximizing AGL. Most written from that and
    a spear's perspective.

== FAQ (Multiple-choice) ==
===========================

If you have any question you want to ask or put in this section, send me an
email. (ryawolf13 (at) yahoo (dot) com)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. What's the best weapon to get in the game?
  A. Well, you should probably know that it's ... <insert weapon here>
  B. Uh... *drools*
  C. I don't know.
  D. I don't care.

Answer: C or D. If you chose A, you've been playing way too much. If you chose
B, you're disgusting. By process of elimination, it's obviously C or D, though
 I prefer D.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2. Where are all the Rare Medals in the game? I'm missing one!
  A. Huh?
  B. WTF is that?
  C. See the walkthrough.
  D. Well, if they're so rare, then they're probably trying hard not to be
      found!

Answer: C or D, though C is the best answer. If you've been playing for a least
30 minutes, you should know what a Rare Medal is, which rules out A and B. The
point of a walkthrough is for you to follow it. If you have been following the
whole thing, you should have all the Rare Medals.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3. How do you beat <insert boss here>?
  A. Hit-and-run or hit-and-jump-back tactics. Spears are good.
  B. Mash A until either you die or it dies.
  C. By hitting F13 to set the enemy HP to 1 or using Codebreaker Codes.
  D. I don't care.

Answer: Surprisingly, it's A. If you answered B, you're probably already dead.
If you chose C, you're a loser. If you picked D, that works too, but you're
supposed to be playing and if you don't beat the bosses, you don't get very
 far.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

4. What is the point of the 5 chests in Fire Fortress if I can carry as many
 weapons as I want, anyway?
  A. Once again, see the walkthrough.
  B. See the Restarting SN2 section.
  C. There is no point.
  D. What? Fire!? Aaaaah! *runs around in circles*

Answer: B. That's all I'm going to say.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

5. What is the best (most entertaining) Guardian Beast to have?
  A. That depends on your personality.
  B. It's definitely the Devil Girl.
  C. It's definitely the Oni Child.
  D. A beast!? Eek! Get it away from me!

Answer: I would personally go with B, but generally, the answer's A. I don't
feel like writing out what every Guardian Beast's attitude toward you is (and
that also sorta depends if you chose to play as a male/female character), so
just close your eyes and randomly pick one if you can't decide.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

6. Is there a way to calculate how much magic damage I do with <insert magic
 attack>?
  A. Yes.
  B. No.

Answer: Actually, it's A. However, this is NOT a Mech Guide, so I don't know and
I've never really cared how it's calculated. (It's probably not that hard since
all magic attacks do a constant amount of damage depending on your Guardian
 Beast's Magic stat.)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

7. Why don't I get Bonus when I Mono Shift?
  A. Mono Shift?
  B. You aren't lucky enough.
  C. You probably got hit somewhere, which is why you don't get Bonus.
  D. You just don't.

Answer: It's D. You just don't.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

8. Is there a way to Golden Mono Shift again (like the fight against Goura)?
  A. Yes
  B. No
  C. I don't know.

Answer: Truthfully, it's C. I don't know, though I suspect that Golden Mono
Shift was only meant for that one fight.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

9. What is the most powerful magic attack? (Not including attacks like Romantic
 Bomb)
  A. Aqua Tornado
  B. Chain Spark
  C. Burst Flare
  D. Ultimate-Superpower-Hyper-Demolition-Attack

Answer: I don't know if this changes with a different Guardian Beast. I picked
the Devil Girl and her Aqua Tornado is the best move, followed by Burst Flare.
Remember that this also depends on your enemy's stats and elemental alignment
(if any). For those of you that pick D, you can just stop reading this right
now, because I HATE people that do that. I'm talking with someone about SN and
someone just comes up and makes some cheesy, moronic, idiosyncratic and
completely random attack up like D and ... I HATE those kind of people!! If
you don't know what you're talking about, then SHUT THE F*** UP!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

10. Can I get DUR Regen on any weapon?
  A. Yes
  B. No
  C. I don't know.

Answer: Once again, I don't know, but I don't think you can. You can try up-
grading with 3 Mark of Courage (Weapon Material) and see if that gets you
anything, but I don't think it does. Try it if you want. (You can get Marks of
 Courage at the Fishing Spot.)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

11. I want to remove a material from an upgraded weapon! Can I do that?
  A. Yes
  B. No
  C. I don't know.

Answer: B. No matter how high your rank is, you can't do that, I think. You
need to disassemble the weapon, which automatically removes upgrades.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

12. Why does my weapon seem weaker than before after using a new material?
  A. You didn't fill your TEC to 255 for the previous weapon.
  B. You're using a weaker weapon material.
  C. Your TEC is cut in half every time you Disassemble and reCreate a weapon.
  D. Your last weapon was upgraded, but this one isn't.

Answer: E. All of the above are possibilities.

03============
== Controls ==
==============

In case you don't know what the controls are, this is the general thing:

-- Outside of Battle --
[A] - inspect objects, talk to people, etc.
[B] - cancel menus, etc. Hold [B] and {arrows} to run or change the
default setting in the Options menu.
[select] - talk to your Guardian Beast (once you get him/her)
[start] - bring up the main menu (see main menu section for more on that)
{arrows} - move in a direction. Allowed to move diagonally.
[L] - switch Field Weapon
[R] - switch Field Weapon

-- In Battle --
[A] - use weapon
[B] - use Guardian Beast's magic. Default is Guard or block (take less
damage than normal) against most attacks. After using your
Guardian Beast's magic, it'll automatically return to Guard. You
can't move when you press [B], but you can move during the magic
            effect.
         - NOTE: LEARN HOW TO GUARD!!!
[select] - nothing
[start] - pause
{<- ->} - move left or right only (walk). To run, first tap the direction
you want to go, then HOLD IT to run. You stop when you release
            the button.
         - Attempt to escape battle by running off the edge of the screen
            without getting KO-ed.
         - To jump, hold [UP] and {<- ->} in the direction you want to go.
More AGL means higher, longer jumps as well as running faster.
However, if you get hit while you're in the air, then you'll be
            stunned for about 3 sec.
[down] - Hold [down] and press [A] to use a different technique. (See more
            in Weapons section)
         - NOTE: GET USED TO JUMPING!!!
[L] - change equipped weapon used with [A]
[R] - change skill used with [B]

=============||================|
(Go down to the > to go to the second section.)

Equipment - very obvious. Change your currently equipped weapons and 1
             accessory.
Support - your Guardian Beast's magic abilities or items. Choose up to 4
total. Selecting items allows you to use them in battle. Also
gives you a number for your Guardian Beast's Magic power.
Item - use items to recover HP, etc. Also includes your materials.
Magic - view all magic your Guardian Beast has learned.
Weapon - view your currently forged weapons.
Status - self-explanatory

Lv 2 - current level (duh!)
Apprentice- this is another new thing from SN1. When you get to higher
rankings by creating more weapons, you'll be able to do more
things. Make your first 3 Amateur weapons and you'll be pro-
moted to "Amateur". Woohoo~ XD Until then you won't be allowed
to Disassemble weapons. See more in that section.
HP - pretty obvious.
1[], etc. - weapon in slot 1, 2, etc. The number indicates durability. Weapon
breaks when DUR is at 0. The hammer can never be broken and is
equipped by default if you have no other weapons equipped.
MAP - there will be a weapon symbol there. Hit [R] to change the
default weapon in the map, outside of battle. (See section 04.)
Money #b - money quantity (in boams)

Quest Item - in other words, Event Items
Techniques - list of what you can forge.
Bestiary - if you don't know what a Bestiary is, then you haven't played
very many video games and probably shouldn't be playing this.
Options - pretty obvious.

+*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~+
| The phrase "in the dark," as I'm sure you know, can refer not only to one's |
| shadowy surroundings, but also to the shadowy secrets of which one might be |
| unaware. Every day, the sun goes down over all these secrets, and so every- |
| one is in the dark in one way or another. If you are sunbathing in a park, |
| for instance, but you do not know that a locked cabinet is buried fifty feet |
| beneath your blanket, then you are in the dark even though you are not |
| actually in the dark, whereas if you are on a midnight hike, knowing full |
| well that several ballerinas are following close behind you, then you are |
| not in the dark even if you are in fact in the dark. Of course, it is quite |
| possible to be in the dark in the dark, as well as to be not in the dark not |
| in the dark, but there are so many secrets in the world that it is likely |
| that you are always in the dark about one thing or another, whether you are |
| in the dark in the dark or in the dark not in the dark, although the sun can |
| go down so quickly that you may be in the dark about being in the dark in |
| dark, only to look around and find yourself no longer in the dark about |
| being in the dark in the dark, but in the dark in the dark nonetheless, not |
| only because of the dark, but because of the ballerinas in the dark, who are |
| not in the dark about the dark, but also not in the dark about the locked |
| cabinet, and you may be in the dark about the ballerinas digging up the |
| locked cabinet in the dark, even though you are no longer in the dark about |
| being in the dark, and so you are in fact in the dark about being in the |
| dark, even though you are not in the dark about being in the dark, and so |
| you may fall into the hole that the ballerinas have dug, which is dark, in |
| the dark, and in the park. |
| |

05=======================
== The Field Obstacles ==
=========================

They've added things since SN1, and now, there are certain objects in your
way. If you talk to the woman in the shop, go to Field > Gadgets. Or, you
can refer to the list below.

Item (Gagdet) | Weapon type Needed
----------------|-------------------
Barrel | Any (obtain item)
Wooden Box | Any (obtain item)
Chest | Any (obtain item)
Grass | Sword (Cut grass out of the way)
Tree stumps | Axe (Get rid of tree stumps)
Fruit | Spear (obtain fruit)
Rocks | Knuckles (Move rocks)
Walls | Drill (Destroy certain walls)

Simple. Note that you don't need to have the weapon type equipped if you
want to use it outside of battle -- just have it in your inventory.

Note that, since the spear has extended range, you can use it to break
multiple boxes and barrels with one thrust. Oh, and you can also use it
to get Chests that are too far away to get with any other weapon.

06===========
== Weapons ==
=============

In battle, you'll have 5 different kinds of weapons:
- Swords - Yes. I commonly use these, but they're not my choice weapon.
- Axes - No. Strong, but it cuts your AGL so much. And I like my AGL.
- Spears - Yes. Though it costs some AGL, they're long ranged. Favorite.
- Knuckles - No. Gives some AGL, but weak and inefficient.
- Drills - Yes. Great for 1-on-1, but up to 10 hits is really useful.

To use them, simply press A and you will swing/thrust in the direction that
you're facing. Note that you can jump backwards (jump left while still facing
right and vice-versa), so ... yeah. Whatever. Anyway, each weapon has 4 ways
of attacking and they are:

[A] (or MASH)
[Down] + [A]
*hold*[A]
{Jump} + [A]

For each weapon the effect will be slightly different. Some things are also
different from SN1. Note the *hold*[A] column.

Weapon | [A] (MASH) | [DOWN] + [A] | *hold*[A] | {Jump} + [A] |

Unlike SN1, when a weapon's durability goes down, it stays down. To recover
a weapon's durability, you need to choose Repair at your forge and ... yeah.
Repair it. You might lose some high-quality weapons later in the game if
you're not careful. Try not to break ALL of your equipped weapons, or that'll
be a pain. :)

Oh, but did I mention? Now there are items (i.e. Flat Stone) that allow you
to recover DUR outside of battle. Or you can just go to your Workshop and
select Repair in the menu. Whatev. Have fun.

A weapon's TEC (technique) increases with more use. Increased TEC allows more
damage done, more hits, faster usage, etc. If you break a weapon but reforge
it again, the TEC will stay at the same amount as it was before. (In other
words, it DOESN'T reset.)

-- Cliff Village "Levels" --

Cliff Village, if you haven't already noticed, has 3 "levels" -- well,
actually, 4, but there are 3 main levels. This is also divided into "screens"
or areas. Each [ ] is an individual screen in the diagram below.

       [R] <-- 4h [G] is actually a part of 3h not 4h.
       | |
  [G]__| |
  |____ |

  [F] |S| [M] <-- 3h

 _| |__| |__| |___[H]
|E ___| <-- 2h
|___ ___ ___|
    | | | |
 ___| |___| |___
| |
|_______________| <-- 1h

E= To Entry Woods (top left exit past the Gatekeeper)
F= Fishing Spot
G= Goura's Gate
H= Your House
M= Monument (Place where your wishes are supposed to come true.)
R= RampageRabbit is here.
S= You start (at the very very beginning) here.

Lv. 4 is the very top where you used to live. (Also 4h)
Lv. 3 is where the fisherman is and the path to the place where you used to
live, as well as the meeting place for the village. (Also 3h)
Lv. 2 has the long paths going down to the first level. Your house is on this
       level, far right. (Also 2h)
Lv. 1 is, predictably, the very bottom level. (Also 1h)

I'll constantly be using these throughout the walkthrough.

2------------------
-- Go To Section --

In Firefox, hit Ctrl+F and search the section you want to go. (Type in:

--------------------------------------------->
|Search: [03= ] [Find Next>]
--------------------------------------------->

That will jump you down to section 3. You can also search locations

--------------------------------------------->
|Search: [-- Lost woods ] [Find Next>]
--------------------------------------------->

Which gets you down to the Lost Woods sections.

3-----------------------------------------------
-- Errors, Comments, Questions, Contributions --

If you have any of those listed above or simply have something to say, email
me at: ryawolf13 (at) yahoo (dot) com

4------------
-- Screens --

... are denoted by [1], [2], [A], etc. A screen is basically an area of a
location. When you move to the left and go off the screen and reappear on the
right of an adjacent one, you've switched screens. Screens are like Areas,
but (with the exception of Goura's Dungeon and the Epilogue Extras) may not
be what the game tells you. (i.e. [5] might not necessarily be <insert
location> Area 5.) As you're following this walkthrough, I recommend you keep
track of which of my ([x]) screens you're on.

In Version 3 BETA, I will try to keep the screens constant with the Area
number.

5---------
-- Days --

There are 11 days in all of SN2 and after every night scene, that'll obviously
change to the next day. To search for Day <insert number here> in the walk-
through, in Firefox, search:

--------------------------------------------->
|Search: [Day 1 ] [Find Next>]
--------------------------------------------->

Note the 2 spaces between the word Day and 1. Day 10/11 are the only exceptions
- there's only 1 space, so just search "Day 10" normally. However, ignore this
note if you're in Firefox.

6--------------------------------
-- Walkthrough Character Names --

I'm playing as the female character, named Kattenna and I chose the devil girl
as my Guardian Beast, and she's called Aelita. Just to clarify that, since I
know I occasionally use those names.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-- Day 1 --
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-- Cliff Village --

Okay... after Ryouga saves you from your daydreaming, (or does he? He kinda
knocks you out for a few seconds) take his lead and follow him up, and then,
after the second conversation, a voice comes from above. Goura's Gate is to
the left of here, but follow Ryouga up again.

Who's over there?
- Mechanoid soldier
- Oni child (To Ryouga: "You got that, you curly-haired jackass?")
- Devil girl
- Half beast

You will already get to choose who your Guardian Beast is going to be, so
choose one already. Once you do, you'll try to save him/her and a fight will
begin against "this cute bunny" that gets ticked off at you.

-- Cliff Village > 4h > Rampage Rabbit --

Name: Rampage Rabbit
HP: 45
DUR:
Strategy: This isn't hard at all. When you get close to it, hit it with your
hammer by pressing [A]. It'll also counterattack, so you should practice
jumping out of the way here to avoid getting hit. Still, even if this is your
first time playing, you shouldn't lose. Get 50 EXP and a level-up for winning,
plus an extra bonus point for not getting hit and a Bandage and Trainee Bracer.
You'll want to equip that.

Note: Trainee Bracer is found after you start a new game using old save data.
For more information on that, see the Restarting Summon Night 2 section.

-- Cliff Village --

Once you win, (if you lose, you suck,) ... yeah, whatever. Just follow the
storyline. You decide to keep the Stray Summon (as he/she will eventually be
your Guardian Beast). Also give him/her a name.

-- Cliff Village > Your House --

The person on the top right is Orin, your "brother" and below him is Tatiana,
your "sister". (They're not your real relatives, but you're living with them,
after all). After some conversation (which varies depending on your Guardian
Beast), Blaire, or Master, walks in from the stairs. After a few arguments,
tantrums, or whatever, Orin drags Tatiana downstairs and Blaire drags your
Guardian Beast downstairs. Follow, of course.

-- Cliff Village > Your House > Workshop --

Blaire explains that this is the Workshop. You'll be making weapons and doing
all sorts of things with them here. Then Blaire becomes blunt enough to make
the Stray Summon your real ("official") Guardian Beast. Afterwards, when you
try to head upstairs, you'll note the sword in stone right next to the stairs.
You can use that to save.

-- Cliff Village --

Head left and up the first path you see in the next screen (there's a blue-
haired boy standing next to it). If you use the diagram for Cliff Village
above (see General Notes section), then you should be heading for the [M].

-- Cliff Village > Village Monument --

The Chief goes on a long story, but we don't have to bear all of that. Com-
pared to the story, the actual Pledge/Bonding thing takes no time at all and
both of you are like, "WHAT?! That's IT?!" After that, Blaire yells at you to
go back to the Workshop, so head back there.

-- Cliff Village > Your House > Workshop --

The conversation turns to how you're so bad at working machines and that Tati-
ana ate mud as a little kid and as Orin says, "Her taste buds are all screwed
up." (Tatiana: "You have a problem with my cooking!?") Anyway, Blaire gets you
all back on track and makes you swing the hammer 100 times.

After those quick 100 swings, Blaire gives you a Swordstone (it's actually
called a Sword Shapestone, but that's too long for me to type). He briefs you
on the kinds of weapons you can make. Then he gives you an Iron Ore to make
the sword with.

Walk (or run) up to the giant furnace behind Blaire and hit [A]. Here, you
can Create, Upgrade (later), Disassemble (later), and Repair. Go to Create.
Now you'll see Swordstone on the list. You'll get Axestones, Spearstones, etc.
later. The bonus ATK, DEF, AGL, and DUR are all at 0 because this is your
first time. Hit [A] on Swordstone and select Iron Ore from the next menu (you
use the Iron Ore to forge it).

If this is your first time through, you get a few question marks for stats
because you haven't made one of these yet. If you had, there would've been a
green check mark on Iron Ore. There is also ? Special Attack and ? Effect, but
not all weapons have one. After hitting [A] again, you realize that there
isn't, but you get the Amateur Knife.

Okay, so Blaire gives you Tatiana's sweets (don't eat them) and makes you guys
sleep down here. If you play as a girl, then the conversation goes like this:
(Blaire: "Don't worry about me! I'll take your room." Kattenna: "But my clothes
are in there!" Blaire: "Well, I'll be going! Good night!") XD

-- Cliff Village > 4h --

Just hang out with your Guardian Beast tonight at where your old house was.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-- Day 2 --
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-- Cliff Village > Your House --

Equip your Amateur Knife and head upstairs to your old room (top right) and
get your 200 boam. Now head outside and go down to 1h. You'll see Ryouga out-
side his door waiting for you. Talk to him and head up to Goura's Gate. Oh,
but before you do, go to the main menu and equip Healing Spell on your Guar-
dian Beast (see Main Menu section for how to do that).

-- Cliff Village > Goura's Gate --

A mysterious voice stops you guys for entering. He introduces himself as
Gedharm. He takes your Guardian Beast hostage and demands that you get every-
one to the Seal. After messing around, Gedharm first Summons a Cattan to keep
you busy.

-- Goura Labyrinth > Chamber of Seals > [2] > Mini-Boss --

Name: Cattan
HP: 200
DUR:
Strategy: You'll be facing a lot more of these little guys later. Anyway, the
Cattan charges at you for some damage, as well as throws a bomb at you (short-
range). It'll also fire a missile that covers the entire distance of the
fighting field, so when that comes, either Guard ([B]) or jump over it ({up}).
If you hit [A] three times in quick succession, you do a 3-hit combo on him
for some damage and your weapon DUR goes down a little bit. Just take out the
little toy tank to win and get 50 EXP and a 6 EXP Bonus if you don't get hit.

-- Goura Labyrinth > Chamber of Seals > [2] --

Afterwards, when Gedharm can't open the thing, he summons the Cattan again,
which promptly goes berserk and .. well, just follow the story.

-- Credits --

Woohoo~ The End!

Not really. Just go through the Introduction Credits. Come on. What do you
think the rest of this is? Of course it's not over. It's just the beginning.

-- Cliff Village > Your House --

You wake up and Tatiana comes rushing in. Better go see if Blaire's all right.
When Orin comes in and later leaves with Tatiana, follow them to the monument
area. Your mission is to retrieve the Daemon Edge and reseal Goura.

-- Cliff Village > Monument --

Things get a bit, er, peaky here. The Chief dismisses you after a while and
you should be heading off to the Vault in Wind Fortress.

-- Cliff Village > Your House --

... But first, you need to re-make that sword weapon again. A few problems
with your Guardian Beast and making weapons, but other than that, everything
seems to be going ok. Then your Guardian Beast talks about having to get more
materials from somewhere else.

Blaire bursts in at that comment and you're both surprised at how he's up
already, but he just starts yelling at you guys as usual ("You have to make
your own weapon! No Craftknight would go into battle with somebody else's
sword! It'd be like... wearing their underwear! Yeurgh!") Then, if you remem-
ber from SN1, your master talks about the hammer forging a man/woman, so...
yeah.

-- Cliff Village --

So, you've received instructions to go into the forest after your Guardian
Beast broke the second sword and you're outta materials,... okay. Great.

Well, it's not entirely great, but then if everything were great, there
wouldn't be a game, now would it?

Oh, but before you go into the forest, go to the lower left corner of Cliff
Village (that's the town where you live, dumbass) where there are two kids
standing outside talking about losing something. Talk to the boy before going
inside the house. Inside, talk to the woman and she'll mention that she can't
find her cat. Go to the house on the far right of this level (Village House B)
and notice the barrel on the left side of the doorway to the back kitchen.
Walk down from that a little bit and very slightly to the right and mash your
[A] button until you find an item (it never said what it really was). Anyway,
give that back to the boy and he'll give you an Anywhere Diary. Now for the
cat. Go to the middle of 2h (where the shop is) Between the two long stairways
down to 1h, there will be a smaller one that leads to a dead end at the
waterfall. The cat will be there. Take it back to get a few Small Worms.

Leave the Cat House and go into the one right next to it. Talk to the woman
for a Quest Item, Broken Watch.

If you want, you can go up to the top left of town (3h) where there's a
fisherman there. Talk to his back and you'll get the option to fish. Catch
something good and you can exchange it for something useful later.

If you go up the middle path to 3h and then to 4h, you can meet the rabbit
thingy that you faught earlier, but damaging it now is much harder since you
don't have a weapon. (Dmg per hit = 1). You can fight or wait for later.
(until you get another weapon)

1 --> To Cliff Village

When you're ready, go past the blue-haired gatekeeper on 2h left and enter
the cave thing. Notice the purple thing on the right is a teleporter, just
like in SN1 (ah, good times~). It serves the same purpose, but at the
moment, you need to just move on, since you can't teleport anywhere yet.

On your left are a couple of barrels/boxes. Press [A] to use the Hammer
(or if you have a different weapon equipped) to break them. This doesn't use
any of your weapon's endurance. What you get depends on where you are and
whether you get anything at all is by chance. Chests will remain open, but
barrels/boxes reset every time you move to a different location.

Encounters with (up to 4) creatures is at a set time, but you may bypass it
by stalling for a couple of seconds. This usually won't work unless you feel
like using Save States (VBA) and the effort of avoiding fights isn't worth
it anyway. You don't have to go far unless you want to. Just go down 1 screen
into [2] and open the chest on the left.

-- Cliff Village > Workshop --

Go back and make your THIRD amateur knife and don't forget to actually equip
it. Heal by sleeping in the conveniently placed bed if necessary.

Return to [2] and you'll see, at the south, grass. Use the sword to cut that
out of the way (you might get items as well) and continue south. To the left
are wooden stumps, but you need an Axe to break them. What do ya know?
There's a chest with an Axe stone right there. Now, forge that. Oh, there's
also a Rare Medal - the golden flickering thing at the mid-right of [3]. Get
that and find a boy in the Village that is sorta hiding under a staircase and
talk to him. (See Sidequests)

-- Cliff Village > Workshop --

Make your axe so you can clear those stumps out of the way at Entry Woods.
Healing is also good.

clearing optional stumps to get the chest with a Spearstone in it. If you
continue left, you can clear grass for some items and there will be an enemy
at the top left of [4]. However, you should go make that spear weapon first.
Oh, and don't forget the Rare Medal on the lower left corner of this screen.

-- Cliff Village > Workshop --

Spear-making time. Guess: Amateur Spear; Actual: Amateur Spear. So
predictable. Don't forget to heal.

Go down to [3]. Remember the trees with fruits on them? Use the spear to get
some fruit. Tasty~ Now, go back to [4] and go to the upper left corner to
face another mini-boss-like enemy.

-- Entry Woods > [4] > Mini-Boss --

Name: Hound
HP: 200
DUR: 0
Strategy: Okay, you'll meet these guys later in the game, but it serves as
a mini-boss for now. When it jumps, hit it before it hits you to knock it
down to the ground and stun it temperarily. It will also bite normally to
do about 16 damage, so ... yeah. Be warned. What attack it uses depends on
how far away you are from it, but it WILL occasionally jump, even at close
range.

-- Entry Woods > [5] --

Ooh, a new background music here. And another teleport pad. And a Save Sword,
so save. Walk up to the stone entrance and follow the dialogue. Even though
you need to "look for a clue", go in anyway.

-- Wind Fortress --

1 --> To Entry Woods

Anyway, go into [2] and go to the very top where there's an opening. You will
mention that you still haven't found anything and there will be a noise from
ahead. Your Guardian Beast offers to go in first and before you can do/say
anything, he/she does. Head up into [3].

Don't worry - there isn't another fight or anything. Just follow the dialogue
as always. You'll need to fix the broken sword before moving on, so... yeah.
Back to the Workshop.

-- Cliff Village > Your House --

Before you can go to your workshop, Orin wants to talk, so patiently listen.
He'll mention something about finding herbs and you wonder where Tatiana is
before remembering that you have to repair the sword. So, yeah, go down to
your workshop and choose Repair to fix all weapons and heal. Also, go to the
bottom of 1h and to the house on the far right. Talk to the boy sitting at
the table to return his watch and get a Bandage in return.

-- Cliff Village --

Leave your house and go left to the main part of town 2h. Go up the first
pathway on the right to the meeting place to find Tatiana. Dunno what she
was doing there, but whatever.

If you think you can get 40-50 hits on an enemy without losing all your HP,
then go up to 4h, where your old house and the boy with the rabbit-beast-
thingy is and fight it. You get a good 100 EXP and bonus if you don't get hit
or guard for minimal damage every time. You need to learn how to Guard and
jump to evade for this.

-- Cliff Village > 4h > Rampage Rabbit --

Name: Rampage Rabbit
HP: 150
DUR:
Strategy: Yeah. Shouldn't be too hard. Stay as far away from him as you can
while still hitting him or he'll bite for about 20 damage. Easy win if you
have a spear or even an axe.

-- Cliff Village --

Go back to Wind Fortress.

Talk to Rocky, the tan-yellowish-brown-haired boy, and you'll deliver the
sword. He'll mention that Orin came by earlier. He says that you should
leave the fort (other side, of course) and you'll find the Hononas herb where
Borzak, a sweet but dangerous flower grows. Simple enough, right? Leave the
room through the north entrance into [4] and up again. Oh, you can also heal
in the bed in the left room of [3] if you want.

-- Forest Outskirts --

[3]-[2]-[1]
 \
  \-[4]

1 --> To Wind Fortress

There are two guys out here. Odd... WHY AREN'T THEY DEAD YET?!! Er ... yeah.
Minor spasm. Sorry. Anyway, talk to them and you'll find out that you can
Dismantle weapons then create them again to make them stronger. Okay. That's
useful. Moving on... Or not, if you want to go back and make a better weapon.
Once you're done, move on.

In [2], you'll see a chest. But you can't get to it! Or can you? Stand
between the two stumps and use the spear to open the chest and get the
Knuckle Shapestone. There are a couple of dead trees and grass clumps to cut
and smash your way through but nothing important. However, there is a semi-
hidden path to your left that leads to 3 chests above a cliff that you can't
otherwise get in [3]. Look - it's hidden in the trees. When you get back, go
all the way to the bottom of [2] and look above a rock for a Rare Medal. Now,
on to [3].

Remember those blue triangle spots from SN1? Well, you recover your health
when you stand on them like before, so... yeah. Convenient healing. There's
a vine down below that you can climb down on for another berry tree and back.
Also, before climbing up, go to the right through the trees for a little
opening with a Rare Medal.

From the bottom right of [3], go into [4] and prepare for a boss fight. (Wow,
the white-haired guy - or Summon Creature - or whatever looks cool~) Anyway,
get ready because you're going to get KO-ed quickly if you don't pay atten-
tion, or if you can't switch between weapons fast enough.

-- Forest Outskirts > [4] > Boss --

Name: Grass Dragon/Kabuto/Kabuto
HP: 500/100/100
DUR: 0
Strategy: If you can't hit enemies that are floating in the air, then you're
at a disadvantage already. Bring in a spear with good DUR at the very least
or use your Guardian Beast's Weapon Guard. The two Kabuto will attack you
from the air or by charging at you from the ground (this is rare, though).
They love to gang up on you. Whatever you do, do NOT jump. If they hit you
while in the air, it gets REALLY annoying.

The Grass Dragon, when there are no Kabuto out on the field, revive them.
During the revival spell or whatever, you can't attack it and the Kabuto
thing will come back to get you. It'll shoot some spiked thorn or whatever
at you from the ground, so try not to get hit. It will also shoot some
purplish cloud of poison? if you're too close (in other words, trying to hit
it). Good luck and don't mess up. :)

-- Forest Outskirts > [4] --

After the fight, continue the conversation as though nothing happened and
start looking for the Hononas. They're on the bottom right - it looks like
one of those patches of grass that you can cut with your sword - right above
the giant red flower. Then, after a small celebration, a mysterious voice
comes from the bottom right.

Gedharm along with Ryouga comes into view again. We get another lecture on
what his plan is going to be, yeah ... okay. So, after they leave, the bgm
changes until the conversation's over. Then if you go down again, you'll
notice a vine leading down and a path to the right, but we can't go that way
yet. Head back toward Wind Fortress.

-- Wind Fortress --

More dialogue. Don't fall asleep. Return to Blaire (or "Dad") who's resting
at your house. Oh, don't forget to heal and repair.

-- Cliff Village > Your House --

Hmm... wonder what Lynn's doing at your house. You almost start bickering
with Tatiana. :) Anyway, the scene will change to night and you'll eat dinner
and everything. Compliments around the table, more useless chat, and then
you'll find yourself in your Workshop. Your Guardian Beast will want to go
out, so you'll follow, of course.

-- Day 3 --
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-- Cliff Village --

The next day, you're already healed and your weapons are repaired too. Go up
the stairs to find Orin and Tatiana talking about a suspicious person loiter-
ing around the village. Then Blaire comes in and... yeah. You end up taking
Tatiana with you to the Forest, so go back that way.

But first, talk to the boy standing below the entrance to the Fishing area and
once again, he's missing something. Go down to the Cat House (lower left of
1h) and take about 1.5 steps down and 2 steps right to where he was hanging
around on the previous day and just hit the [A] button a few times to find it.
Bring it back for a Kicker Potion.

-- Cliff Village > 4h > Rampage Rabbit --

Name: Rampage Rabbit
HP: 300
DUR:
Strategy: Use a spear only. Don't rush at him or he'll bite you as you're
coming and you'll take quite a bit of damage. If you're still on amateur
weapons, this might take a while since each of your hits will probably only do
1 or 2 damage per normal hit. He now also knows how to tumble at you, so if
you have 0 AGL at the moment, try not to jump or you can be knocked away and
stunned momentairily.

-- Cliff Village --

Also, the cat's missing again, so... yeah. This time, she's at the bottom of
the steps up to your house on 2h, so bring her back for a Bandage. Go to the
shop and talk to the boy to the left side of the counter for a Kicker Potion.
If you want an Aqua Ore for 300 boam, go down to 1h and talk to the salesman
in front of the Chief's house (the middle of 1h). Don't forget to forge a
knuckle and drill weapon before you leave. That's it. Head out for Wind Fortr-
ess.

-- Entry Woods --

Hmm... Lynn again. Interesting. Looking for Ryouga, huh? Anyway, she leaves
you three at it and ... yeah. That's about it.

-- Wind Fortress --

Another short bit of chat here. Rocky and Kara come out to greet you guys.
According to them, Gabriel went somewhere with Xeride a little while ago, so
the kids are alone. This is your chance to shake off Tatiana and have some
fun so while she babysits, you move on with your Guardian Beast.

Looks like those two guys from before are gone in [1]. *hint hint* Follow the
path until you get to [4] again and as you enter the screen, a mysterious
voice will start yelling at you. Turns out it's our friend Gabriel. After
learning about your smell (*sweatdrop*) Gabriel leaves and you continue.
Go down the vine at the bottom right and right into [5]. Go up into Roaring
Cavern.

Save before anything. Now move right. Hey! It's those two guys again. The
younger guy will now talk about upgrades, so talk to him if you want to learn
about that. The path here is pretty straightforward. Watch out when you're
fighting Gunnerheads. Unlike SN1, if you hit them from close range, they WILL
keep firing at you, doing about 3 dmg per hit, but up to 5 hits. Stay as far
away from them as possible while using a spear. What's cool about the yellow
Jelly Slimes is that they can shoot their slime like a cannonball to damage,
so watch for that too. If a Red Pincher charges and runs you over (and if it
does, you suck), then be prepared to take quite a bit of damage, especially
if it's a critical. Mud Boxers, those blue things that squirm around like
slimes, but have faces and can punch too, have a new effect as well - turning
into a bluish dome and enveloping you in it for repeated damage up to about 12
hits! There are also a few new enemies here as well, including the Bugball -
kinda looks like a steel ball with a face and arms. Get too close and it
bites. Stay away and it'll swing its arms to do 2 hits' worth of damage.

In [3], the bottom path leads to 6 boxes/barrels, a recovery spot, and yet
another Rare Medal. Once you've got everything, take the top path. When it
turns, a voice will scream - and I quote - "Aaaagh!" :) You should know by
now that the game will give you a Recovery Spot right before most boss fights,
so as you go into [4], be prepared.

Psyche.

Holy f*** that thing is frickin' huge!! Orin is positively paralyzed and you
want to push him out of the way. Instead, someone emerges seemingly from the
ground - a pink girl with glasses and something yellowish orbiting around her.
Whatever. She says that Borgrim isn't dangerous, so don't hurt it. Borgrim is
the gi-normous thing, but he won't bite. By the way, the ghost - not a Summon
Creature - has a name, Nina. No matter what you choose when she asks you to
trust her, you won't fight. Orin snaps out of it and says in a normal voice
that he's fine. He leaves just like that. Okay... whatev. Nina will want you
to follow her. Just say yes and follow her into [5].

At the intersection, Nina wants you to follow her straight ahead and you can't
move in any other direction, so just keep going into [6]. You'll run into Nina
again, and after a conversation that I don't feel like rewriting, she'll
suggest to go back. Now, back at that intersection at [5], you can move down
now, so do so first.

In [7], you'll need Knuckles to move the rock out of the way before advancing
any further. When you move it a little, walk past that and to the left, up
some climbing stair-thingies and back up to [5], where there are boxes and
a chest containing a Swordstone. If you go to the right, you'll need a drill
to blast your way through the wall. Go in to get a chest with an Axestone and
a Rare Medal on your left. Now, back up to the intersection in [5] and Nina
will tell you to follow her up.

Climb up some steps in [8]. There are 7 patches of grass with Flat Stones and
such (so you know that you're in [8]). Now get ready.

-- Roaring Cavern > [8] > Boss --

Name: ????
HP: 450
DUR: 150
Strategy: He has a sword and is pretty adept with it. Watch out for his 3x-
slash combos. Other than that, since his weapon has 150 DUR, it might take a
while to break his weapon. He will follow you wherever you go, so you might
not have a chance to heal or use magic. However, if you want to KO him
quickly, he almost never Guards, but he won't even flinch if you repeatedly
hit him. He's also pretty fast, so axes, for instance, will be disadvantaged,
since I doubt you have much AGL left after an axe cuts it down by 20 or so.

Unlike SN1, you don't get a Weaponstone or Technique or whatever if you break
his weapon. Instead, you get a Beast Crest. Whatever. I'll take it.

-- Roaring Cavern > [8] --

After the fight the mysterious guy in armor leaves and you're about to pursue
him before you remember that Orin is still there. Now we've got to deliver
Orin home. You're automatically out of the Cavern and back home.

-- Cliff Village > Your House --

Wait... how did they get home without Tatiana? They had to pass through the
Wind Fortress, so they should've seen her. Weird. Anyway, Orin then insists on
not telling her about it and you reluctantly agree. After we catch a glimpse
of Orin in bed, Blaire speaks for another five seconds before collapsing on
the floor. After dragging him into bed, your Guardian Beast suggests more
Hononas. You recall that you still have some left and need to make the medi-
cine, but you don't know how. Time to find Lynn~ Oh, but since you're not
auto-healed this time, go heal and repair first.

-- Cliff Village --

Turn in your Rare Medals to the boy at the bottom right of 1h if you have any.

Once you're done, go back down to 3h and take the path to the left (to where
Ryouga transformed before). Lynn will be there. After a bit more story, you
can leave Lynn with Blaire and Orin and head back to Nina.

-- Wind Fortress --

But first, before you can get back to Roaring Cavern, you'll need to talk with
Tatiana. Your Guardian Beast almost lets it slip, but ... yeah. Anyway, you
get reminded that Gabriel isn't back yet. Geez, all this rescuing people....

FINALLY! Another Teleport Pad! About time, too. Activate it and save. Enter
(with some misgivings) and ...

Well, well, well... it's our "friend" Gedharm. Short conversation even
shorter, he'll summon Iron Horse for you to fight.

-- Water Fortress > [2] > Boss --

Name: Iron Horse
HP: 600
DUR:
Strategy: This guy is frickin' CRAZY! He has 3 attacks. First is shooting
bullets at you (close range) from his mouth, which hits 3 times. Next, he'll
jump and if he does, watch out, because he's going to aerial attack you with
fast speed. Speaking of fast speed, he can outrun you like that, so it'll be
hard to attack as well as defend. Finally, He'll shoot 1 missile from his
mouth (practically the entire fight range) for quite a bit of damage, though
if you've got reflexes, you can usually Guard or jump over it and slash back
at him. Don't use close-range weapons (i.e. Drills, Knuckles, or even Swords
or Axes for that matter). Spears are the way to go and if you've been pumping
into your AGL every level-up, that and good reflexes will help you block and
attack. Learn to Guard and jump back away from his attacks. Also, practice
jumping OVER him and attacking from behind for some damage. If you're seri-
ously lacking in AGL, then stay in one position and as he's coming at you,
attack him with a spear, sword, or axe.

-- Water Fortress > [2] --

After the fight ("Hah! What now, Gedharm!?") The guy just sarcastically con-
gratulates you for the fight and leaves. Turns out Nina was watching the
whole thing from the floor. I wonder how many times Iron Horse stepped on or
shot at her. :) Anyway, just go up to [3] and as you're about to head past
Nina (don't bother looking for anything), you won't find anything and you
feel like returning home for the day - after picking up Tatiana back at Wind
Fortress, that is. Nina mentions that there's another Fortress even deeper
in the forest (typical). It's a lightning-elemental Fortress. Now, instead of
going home, you're re-energized and re-optimisticized, but you need to go
back and pick up Tatiana. Like Wind Fortress, there's a bed you can heal in,
but that isn't necessary, since there's also the Heal Spot back at the en-
trance to Roaring Cavern. Whatever. Just heal and either take the teleport
pad to Wind Fortress.

-- Wind Fortress --

Uh, we get Tatiana back in the group, the two kids leave back for Cliff
Village, and Gabriel and Tatiana were probably having fun together (if you
get what I mean). Anyway, head back toward Cliff Village now.

-- Cliff Village > Your House --

Apparently, Orin's feeling good enough to walk again and Lynn's home too.
Nighttime again. Choose where you want to go. If you chose the devil girl (I
forgot what name SN2 gave her, but it was bad, so I changed it to Aelita),
I suggest you go talk with her. ("Hey! Hey! Shut your halo hole!!") XD Best
quote ever~ If you chose the Oni child, then talk with him. ("I'll beat you
to a pulp!" "Hey, you're my Guardian BEast. You're supposed to protect me!"
"I... Um... I'll protect you to a pulp!" "What the heck does that mean?")

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-- Day 4 --
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-- Cliff Village --

Next morning - what is this - day 4? Yeah, I think it's Day 4. Anyway, you're
going to set out again for the next Fortress. Then Orin walks in, looking
serious. He wants to check on something, so you'll have to go. If you don't
understand where he wants to meet, go to 2h, find the Shop (there's a sign
with a bag of money in front of it) and go down the steps from there.

But before you can do that, Tatiana stops you as you try to get out the front
door (geez, why don't they have a secret passageway or something?!!) You
start whispering to your Guardian Beast and Tatiana gets pissed. After Tatiana
rejoins the conversation, you need to start whispering with your Guardian
Beast again and Tatiana gets ticked off again. Better take off while you still
can. Leave.

Go to the lower left house on 1h again and talk to the old man that usually
gives you things for clearing boxes for an Eerie Mask. The old lady's cat is
gone again, so go find her too. First, go to the house right next to the one
you just got out from. Talk to the boy to switch the Eerie Mask with a Hard-
boiled Egg. Now, go right again and up into the Chief's house. At the top
right corner is the missing cat. You can also buy Gale Ore from the salesman
on the second floor for 350 boam. Find the boy that's lost his "thing" some-
where (the boy and the girl are at the monument in 3h - right path up) and
to where he was yesterday on 2h (to the left of the waterfall, just above and
to the right of the left stairs down to 1h) and mash the [A] button around
there to find it and bring it back. Go to the shop and talk to the boy to get
a free Rubstone this time. And once again, you can practice with the Rabid
(Rampage) Rabbit as well.

-- Cliff Village > 4h > Rampage Rabbit --

Name: Rampage Rabbit
HP: 300
DUR:
Strategy: He's MUCH stronger than Iron Horse, so, once again, come prepared.
If you're like me, and are trying to maximize AGL, then expect to do somewhere
around 4-6 dmg per hit. People that are stronger, expect to do no more than
12-15. However, if your ATK = 70, then you'll actully do between 40 and 45
damage! He'll roll at you very cheaply and it's hard to block with a slow
weapon, so you'll take about 40-45 damage per hit. Guarding only blocks by 1/4,
so you'll take around 10-12.

-- Cliff Village --

Now, go talk to Orin.

-- Cliff Village > 2h > Boss --

Name: Orin
HP: 600
DUR: 180
Strategy: Waah! Just kidding. Nah, if you had no problems with the Rampaging
Rabbit, then this won't be too hard. He has a drill, so that could be a
slight problem when he drills you for about 5 hits. Other than that, he'll
occasionally summon his Guardian Beast to power up his drill and use Chain
Spark. Brake his weapon for a Boost Motor.

So true. Moving on...

-- Lost Woods --

1 --> To Water Fortress
2 --> To Lost Woods Below Ground [1]

As you begin, climb up the vine. Here's a quick briefing about the monsters
in this area. Firstly, the Gel Slime (red) has a new move where it "drills"
underground and spikes back up three times to damage. When it turns into a
smudge, it can move the entire field's length instead of just a small part of
it. The Escaroo now breathes ice for damage as well as pinch and charge.
The Magickeeno (blue pumpkin) can now blow itself up to about 3x its normal
size and mash into you for some damage. Nice~

In [2], there's a cave opening in a cliff. Go down from that between trees for
another Rare Medal. To the right are 2 fruit trees. Since I'm making this
walkthrough as I'm going through the game for the first time, let's go into
the cave.

1 --> To Lost Woods [2]

Ugh... on second thought, let's go back. Nah, we'll see what's here first.
The enemies here can get quite annoying. There are the new-and-improved
Sniperheads, with 199 HP. They'll ascend all the way to the ceiling and bomb
you 3 times if you're not careful. They also dual-shoot if you get too close.
The new Evil Spirits will shoot lightning at you from their mouth instead of
just from the ceiling. The Magikeeno (blue pumpkin thing) will grow bigger
and take a large chunk of you (or more precisely, your HP) to attack. Lizar-
dios (green and kangaroo-like) will punch like in SN1, but will also charge
at you with speed and punch up to three times. Good way to beat it with a
sword is to hit it only TWICE before guarding (unless you're fast enough to
hit it three times and guard).

Go down the stairs and hack away 3 clumps of grass. Move on. In [2], there is
an obvious chest to the left of a mudslide thingy. Get a Blaze Ore from that.
In the corner, partially obscured by a branch of some sort is another Rare
Medal. That's all we can get from here, so, yeah. Leave.

Go to the bottom right and head into [3]. Hack away at more grass on the
right and go down to find a hole in the middle of the field. You'll also
notice that there's a stream/river of some sort and 5 crates on the other
side. We'll be there in a second. If you go down the hole, you'll end up back
at Lost Woods Below Ground [2]. We've been there already, so instead, go on to

move up into Thunder Fortress.

1 --> To Lost Woods

Although the screen doesn't go black and display [Thunder Fortress], it'll
say you're there in the main menu. Anyway, there's another teleport pad, so
make sure you activate that. Also, save at the sword. Now, as you try to walk
in, you have some of those misgivings again. Oh well.

In [2], a voice suddenly shouts, "Intruder Alert!!" Whether you choose to
fight the first robot or not, a second robot appears. The first "analyzes"
you or whatever and sees that you're an Edge Fencer. Introducing himself as
Bruno, he, uh, does something if you're playing as a girl. He ends up taking
Father's Memento and, uh, eating it. You get transformed and healed (weapon,
and I mean "weapon" - not "weapons" - is unbreakable) and start a fight!!
One thing: Time limit.

-- Thunder Fortress > [2] > Boss --

Name: Clock Knight
HP: 1000
DUR:
Strategy: No Aelita (or whoever you chose your Guardian Beast to be) to help
in this one. Since you're under a time limit, notice the command "Ultimate"
when you hit [R]? You can use that to do about x3 the normal amount of damage
you usually do. And since you only have TIME equal to your current weapon's
DUR, if you're lacking in attack, you're almost definitely going to break it,
not to mention that using an Ultimate will also cost you 20 TIME (or DUR).

Once that weapon breaks, you can fight with your other weapons (their DUR
didn't reset) and your Guardian Beast. Clock Knight has three attacks. One,
he'll charge at you, doing 40-50 damage. Next is jabbing with his spear for
around 70, then finally, throwing a small knife-like thing at you for around
25. One problem with your other weapons is that they will probably do 1 damage
to Clock Knight. If your Guardian Beast doesn't have any offensive magic (like
Aqua Tornado), then you're screwed, basically. Hvae fun~

If you win, well... yeah. Bruno will start talking in - well, you'll find out
when you follow the dialogue. (OMG!WTF?) Anyway, after the disturbing con-
versation, go to [3] and look in the room on the right for the Summonite Gem.
Of course, when you try to "install" it, you mess up and, long story short,
we need to find Orin. First, teleport yourself to Water Fortress.

Oh, just to let you know, since you now have the Red Daemon Gem, you can
equip it on your Guardian Beast (to use) and when it's Charged, you can turn
into that stronger character you were in that battle. Your HP is automatically
regenerated and your weapon DUR goes up to max (and starts descending with
each attack, of course). Also, if you have this in a slot and you get KO-ed,
you auto-Revive with this - full HP/DUR, so ... yeah, that's useful.

-- Water Fortress --

Lynn's there with a Summonite Gem. And a kiss~ *sweatdrop* Go back home really
quick.

-- Cliff Village > Your House --

Ooh, it's Rocky and Kara. But he's here to "meet Tatiana"?! Sweets ... yeah,
right. Anyway, Orin isn't at home and ... I'm not going to spoil this part.
All I'm going to say is that at the very end, you say, "Gotta go!" and
practically dash out of the house.

Instead of searching the village for about 3 hours like I did (exaggeration),
teleport yourself to Wind or Water Fortress and head for to Roaring Cave.

Wow, those two idiot brothers still aren't dead yet. Oh well. In this area,
there are the somewhat better Smoggro, (grayish cloud), which will grab you
and inflict about 10 damage - per hit for 6 hits if you don't Guard. Skydogs
will bite now as well and they come at you fiercely. Gliders (bird-like
creatures) will ascend toward the top of the screen and dive at you for quite
a bit of damage, as well as fire wind attacks at you. A new monster is also
here: Clobber Rex, an alligator of some sort with a giant head and a mace for
a tail. It moves very slowly and only bites, so spear-users should have no
problem against it.

Go into [2] and at the bottom of the screen will be tufts of grass and a Rare

Follow the path and you'll be up at Fire Fortress.

There was no Heal spot for this, so you may want to use the teleport pad to
go back and heal, especially if you're down to 3HP and 3DUR like me. When you
are ready, move in.

-- Fire Fortress > [2] > Boss --

Name: Durahan
HP: 1280
DUR:
Strategy: Don't mess up. Seriously. Even by Guarding, you take about 25 damage
for each of his swings. If he raises his sword above his head, RUN! And if
you just got cornered by him, 1/4 to 1/3 of your HP is screwed. He'll also
thrust out his left hand to damage you (about 10) four times. Beat him for
another Boost Motor.

-- Fire Fortress > [2] --

Hmm... after that, a purple haired girl walks up. Apparently, it's not Nina,
but Passeau. (Explanation: "Nina Nina was the previous occupant of this
body!") After she leaves, follow your Guardian Beast up to the left room in
[3] and get the Summonite Gem. Now ... leaving....

-- Thunder Fortress --

Give it to Bruno ("Thanks, dudes!") and Orin will put it in this time. It'll
take a while for Bruno to finish, so we're going to look for Nina while
Gabriel and Xeride stay and Orin takes off for home. Teleport to Water
Fortress and head into Roaring Cavern from there.

At [9], there's a Heal Spot, so use it. In [6], go down the mudslide and
left into [4]. Talk to Nina. Apparently, she was a member of some Cerulean
Society, trying to find the truth of the world. She studied in Zelum, the
Capital of the Kingdom. You'll know it's time to leave when Nina wants to
come with you.

-- Cliff Village > Your House --

Lynn and the Chief are here. The Chief explains that Blaire has been cursed
by Goura. Nighttime. Hasn't been that in quite a while. Choose where you
want to go for the night. The waterfall scene (with Orin) is really cool~

-- Day 5 --
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-- Cliff Village --

Next day, you walk upstairs and Orin's waiting with Tatiana. The two start
fighting and Blaire comes down to shut them up. Then Lynn comes in all worried
and another long conversation short, move on.

Couple of sidequests though. First, the cat's missing again. You can cash in
a couple more Rare Medals to the boy on the lower right of 1h, and if you
spoke to the cat lady first, you'll see the cat right there. If you broke
everything, you can get a Boost Motor from the old man in the house of the
missing cat, there's a blue-haired boy on 2h left of the Shop that picked up
200 boam and will give it if you say it's yours, and you can fight the
maniacal bunny again at 4h. The Salesman is looking at the waterfall in 2h
and sells you a Fulgar Horn for 400 boam. Oh, and don't forget to talk to the
I-lost-my-"thing"-again boy on the lower right of 1h. The item's back at the
monument. It's above the rock on the left of the stone steps. When you're
ready, head out to Bruno's.

-- Cliff Village > 4h > Rampage Rabbit --

Name: Rampage Rabbit
HP: 800
DUR:
Strategy: This time, he whacks you with a CARROT! OMG! It actually does about
about 60-80 damage without a critical, so... yeah. Oh, and he can also eat
the carrot to restore 288 HP. Amazing what you can do with rabid bunnies these
days, isn't it? These fights aren't hard at all if you've been pumping every-
thing into ATK and have an axe.

-- Fire Fortress --

Now ... if this is your second time through, remember how I told you to store
a few good weapons here? Well, you can get them back from the chests! YES~
Also talk to the salesman on the right for information on upgrading for 600
boam. Using a Leafwyrm Thorn adds a Paralysis attack. He'll also give you one.

-- Thunder Fortress --

New background music!! Woohoo! Anyway, finish the conversation, head into the
back room and talk to Bruno. The second conversation goes something like this.
Orin, Nina, and Tatiana want to follow, Bruno starts talking in code ("A52-
283"), only Xeride gets it, Aelita (your Guardian Beast) gets irritated, and
you're like ... wow this is a weird group....

You can also recharge the Daemon Gem if it's Not Charged and when you're
ready, select Transhift and you'll be teleported. Here we go....

-- Ruined Factory B1 --

[1]

1 --> Bruno's Transhift
3 --> Ruined Factory B2

Well, Tatiana and Orin immediately communicate with you through Bruno, though
they start arguing right away and you try to get away as quickly as possible.
Bruno won't go with you either, of course.

In [2], go straight ahead and use the left thing to auto-move yourself up.
Move right into [3] and up the doorway.

-- Ruined Factory B2

[2]-[1]
 | |
[3]-[4]

1 --> To Ruined Factory B1

Crap, the Iron Giants here can punch as well as blast from their cannons.
Guarding their attack still makes you take about 25 damage, but you get nice
EXP and bonus for it as well. A new enemy, Dustons, which are pig-like things,
shoot wind at you. Defenders are just as bad as before and you should have
less than no problem getting rid of them.

First, go to left into [2] and down into [3]. As you're going, face up and
have a weapon ready. Break the barrels/boxes by pressing [A] when you're below
them. (You stop moving temperarily to smash an item). Remember this trick, as
you'll it'll be important later. When you're heading into [3], there will be
a few more boxes on your right, but I think you can only break these with a
spear, as you're out of range with the other weapons. At the bottom of [3] are
two chests with Light Metal Ore and Rubstone. Take the conveyer belt all the
way back to [1]. Go Down from there and go left when you can. You'll come to a
drill-able part of a wall. Drill in and get 2 chests and a Rare Medal. Exit
that little chamber and go the only way you can (left) and make your way back
into [1]. Now go down the right path again and keep going down into [4] (this
is the bottom right of B2). Go left on the transport pad ONCE in [3] and into
into the door.

There will be a monster there and as you walk in, this guy gets ticked off
as well and you start a fight. Notice that you're standing on a cracked spot
on the floor.

-- Ruined Factory B2 > [x] > Boss --

Name: Grappler
HP: 1600
DUR:
Strategy: Three attacks, as usual. If he raises his left hand (the one on the
right if he's facing left), then he'll punch out with electricity. If he
raises his right hand (the one on the left if he's facing left), then he'll
sent a circular jolt of electricity at range. If he raises both hands, he'll
send out two smaller jolts of electricity. Take advantage of the fact that he
moves slowly. Because of this, if you're good, you should never get hit. Use
spears to attack from a distance. The only problem with this boss is that you
might run out of DUR. Tactic: Strike/Stab and jump back or run. If he corners
you and attacks, you're going to be like paste squashed against a wall on a
warm summer's day. Use your Guardian Beast's magic or you'll almost definitely
run out of DUR.

-- Ruined Factory B3 --

[3]-[1]-[2]

2 --> To Ruined Factory B2 [x] (Door on the left)
2 --> To Ruined Factory B4 [1] (Door on the right)

Remember what I said about the floor? Well, you fall. Then you get a surprise.
Then you get another surprise - it's Orin and Tatiana - and then they get
surprised and go omg! Anyway, your Guardian Beast thinks it's the Mechanoid
Soidier from Loreilal. Xeride is all weird now and Gabriel needs to take care
of him. Anyway, the two, knowing that you're all better, leave. You should
probably replenish your DUR now.

There's a Heal Spot if you go right into [2] and up the stairs (that's also
how you get out of here). If you try to go into the second doorway in [2],
then you'll have to fight an Elebolt, which will jab at you with its horn
or send three bits of lightning down at you from the ceiling. Not too hard
to defeat with a sword. Let's go down for now. (There's a locked door in B3
[3]).

-- Ruined Factory B4 --

[1]
  \
  [2]

1 --> To Ruined Factory B3

Take the left moving panel down. Get a few boxes, go right, and get a Rare
Medal along with a chest. Hit the switch above the Rare Medal to get your-
self back up. Once you're back again, go right and keep going until you get
to another switch. You need to hit it to invert the movement of the panels
again. Now go back to the beginning.

Take the right moving panel below you. Now you're stuck and have to restart
the game. Isn't this great? Seriously. You're stuck in the middle of B4 [1]
with no way to get out.

Oh, yeah, there's little circle-switch thingy there too. Darn. Oh well. Hit
it with your hammer and invert the direction of all movement panels.
Continue moving right and go diagonally up for 2 boxes and a chest with a
Fulgar Horn. Now move the only direction you can: left and back up to the
start of [1]. Take the middle path now and follow it. Keep going until you
get to a point that looks like this:

 | | _______
_| |_| O |
_____ |
     | |
     |__ X __|
        | |

You came in at X. The O indicates another switch. Mash it with the hammer and
take the path you came in on, which moves you to [2]. Heal at the Heal Spot
and read the glowing red inscription.

It seems likely that I've gone the
right way so far.
However, I have no drill with me, so
I can't break this wall.
I would go ahead if I could break
the wall by using a drill...
Although I'm so disappointed,
I think I have to give up...

What do ya know? There's a wall right there. RIGHT there. Drill it to bust it
down and enter. Here, you'll receive the Jinrai Blade.

Oh, and once you take the sword, Ryouga appears to sarcastically congratulate
you. Remember ???? we faught earlier? Yeah. ????. He's just the Black Swords-
man. Boss fight time. Oh - and try not to stand on a crack in the floor. :P

-- Ruined Factory B4 > [x] > Boss --

Name: Blk Swordsman
HP: 950
DUR: 200
Strategy: It is SO MUCH EASIER to kill him, since he only has 950 HP. However,
we want items, right? Well, if not, then this is going to be pretty easy. He
will triple-slash as usual, but he'll also create a wind tornado much like
the one your Guardian Beast can use. Don't know if that's limited or not.
Anyway, make sure your weapons have their DUR back up since you'll need it to
bring down his 200. Or, you can just wait for him to say, "I Can Do This"
(notice the caps) and every time he fury-attacks, his DUR goes down by 15.
Convenient. Just Guard and you'll take about 7 damage. Warning: if you get
too close and he slashes at you with power, then you could be blasted all the
way back to the end of the field and stunned for about 3 sec. Reward for
breaking his weapon: Beast King Crest.

-- Ruined Factory B4 > [x] --

Ryouga decides to retreat for now once you've won. However, being the stubborn
person you are, you want him to wait. He transforms. Maybe it was just better
to let him go instead of see that ugly transformation. Anyway, he leaves. You
should get going too. Go out and recover your health and give your weapons
enough DUR to survive the trip back home. On your way back up in [1], there
are 4 boxes. Break them, of course.

-- Ruined Factory B3 --

Go to the other doorway and up to B2.

-- Ruined Factory B2 --

Take the moving platform and you'll go all the way back to the beginning of
B2. Go up the stairs to B1.

-- Ruined Factory B1 --

Oh, I forgot to mention - you can change the direction of movement here as
well. Mash the button at the top left, just before you get on the moving
platform on your left with your hammer. Go right and take the path down for
two chests containing Light Metal Ore and Drillstone. Now continue following
the path and once you return to where you were, go left. Everything should
be familiar by now.

-- Thunder Fortress --

Once you get back, you try to be happy and stop everyone from worrying - until
Bruno tells you in his now-matter-of-fact way that there are 4 Daemon Edges;
not just one. Typical. Time to rest up back home. However, make one quick
stop at Water Fortress.

-- Water Fortress --

The Salesman here gives you Extra Hot Spices to make curry. If you're been
exploring Cliff Village, there's a house with a woman in the far back (1h)
that's trying to make curry, but missing some ingredients.

-- Cliff Village > Your House --

The usual talk plus a nighttime stroll. Next day, there's someone making a
fuss at the entrance to Cliff Village.

-- Day 6 --
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-- Cliff Village --

First, the cat's missing again. Talk to the woman in the far right house on
1h for Wheatgrass Juice in exchange for the spices. The boy that gave you the
200 boam earlier now found 400 boam, but say No. The boy that loses his stuff
is on 1h, next to Ryouga's house. His item is above the Curry House (the house
where the woman talks about curry). There's a very small cliff northwest of
the house (or rather, the roof). The item is there. At the store, the boy at
the counter gives you a free Whetstone. Convenient. On your way up to fight-
ing the Rampage Rabbit again (it has 1500 HP now), you'll see the cat. I
suggest you fight first, but whatever. You can also go to the Chief's second
floor and buy a Vortex Crab Claw for 450 boam. If you go into the Shop and
talk to the boy, you get a Whetstone.

-- Cliff Village > 4h > Rampage Rabbit --

Name: Rampage Rabbit
HP: 1500
DUR:
Strategy: He has the same attacks as before, but is a little bit wiser. If
your weapon is slow, you don't have much AGL, you're using a set of knuckles,
an axe, or a drill, then just get close enough to attack it 1-3 times and
guard against his carrot or tumble attack. If you have a spear, don't do
enough damage to make it flinch, or can attack long range, then stay away
from it and fight from a distance.

-- Cliff Village --

So, now you can go to the meeting. The guy's Toumei and I swear if his story
gets any longer, he's going to be the Chief's assistant or something. Fortu-
nately, Orin lets you out early.

Don't leave just yet. Talk to the Gatekeeper and get a Seafood Soup. How are
you supposed to be carrying that thing around, anyway? Still, I'm not com-
plaining, since it restores 1500 HP.

-- Entry Woods --

Ooh, here's Rocky and Kara. Looks like Rocky's over Tatiana. Oh, wait - he's
going for LYNN instead! ("The kid likes older women!") Whatev.

-- Fire Fortress --

Salesman here gives you a Boost Motor for 800 boam. Take it, but only use it
on a Sword, Spear, or Axe. It'll give you a 2-hit combo to use.

-- Thunder Fortress --

Lynn's here again. And Gabriel and the others. Move on. In [3], Bruno explains
that the sword you're looking for is Mizuchi. Select ??? as your destination
and teleport.

Anyway, Bruno won't tag along ("Negatory, dude!") because he can't get wet.
And it's dangerous. Read the inscription to your left if you want before
continuing.

A record of my dungeon adventures
Part 2 -
"The Water Dungeon"
I've reached a cave that smells
like the ocean. THere are seashells
all over the place.
Naturally, this interested me.
I headed in!
After a few minutes of exploring,
I encountered an area that filled
with streams of water that
prevented me from continuing
on my way.
I'm surrounded by water, and I
can't see how deep it is. It
doesn't really matter, I suppose -
I can't swim!
It was too dangerous to cross the
water, and I was stuck on this
new island.
I happened to look down at the floor
and noticed that there were three
colored switches on the ground.
There are switches all over the
world! Where did they come from?
Since I had no other options, I
tried hitting the switches with my
hammer as I has with so many
other switches I had encountered
in my travels...
As soon as I hit one of them,
a platform rose up from the water!
What a surprise...
(omg, this is so frickin' long)
I could use this platform to
cross over the water!
How useful!
Moreover, I found out that the
different colors of switches made
different platforms appear.
Someone before me put these
switches in for someone just like
me to use... How thoughtful!

Now... on to [2].

Another mysterious voice greets you and asks for ID. The mermaid is Sarin.
Move on into [3].

Couple of new monsters here. Firstly, there's the Ikaroo, a floating version
of Snairoo, which shoots water and pounds on you for damage. Mud Suckers,
the slime-like creatures with eyes and hands, punch and shoot muddy water at
you for damage. Octaco, a new monster, will literally jump on top of you and
they do quite a bit of damage too. They also squirt water. Stay close and
attack with swords or drills. The Snairoo itself can blast you with water as
well. Sahagin now squirts water, but raises it from the ground to last longer.
A third new monster, Frogman (blue frog), shoots water from his belly, ducks
down into the ground and lashes out with his tongue, or "swims".

If you get into fights on the sand, notice the little (and I mean puny) crab
that pops up from the rocks to the right. Neat. I got distracted by that and
messed up though. Whatever.

In [4], another unknown person calls you. Once the conversation's over (and
if you're playing as the female character, "Only good-looking girls deserve
to win" or something like that) then I'll just let you know that the chest on
the right is empty. Move right and up into [5].

Here, though it may seem confusing, everything is pretty straightforward.
Every different colored/shaped tile opens up a path to a different location.
Simple.

Smack the circle and follow the path once get to hit the circle at the far
left, don't hit it, but return to the start. Smack the diamond and follow
the path to a chest with a Sandstone Ore. When you come back, smack the
green tile again to raise the platforms. Smack the triangle once you're back
at the start and follow the path up into [6].

Before you face the monster in [6], go left across the beach and down into
[7] and left-up into [8] for 2 chests. Look across the water. See the Rare
Medal? We'll get that. Go back up into [6] and left straight into [8]. Now go
back to where Sarin and Byron were (top right of [6]). Enjoy the conversation
:) *sweatdrop* ("You perv! What's your deal?") You end up having to go find
Lynn. (*mumbles* That monsterthingisahugeassperv...)

-- Thunder Fortress --

So, uh, go back, and, erm, talk to ... Lynn. By the way, notice how everyone
gets a [...] expression. *sweatdrops all around* (Kattenna: "I wouldn't joke
about this." Lynn: "Really?" Gabriel: "I think it's pretty funny!" Xeride:
"There's always something strange happening with you guys around.")

According to Sungju Ham, you can talk to Tatiana at your house as well, and
if you tell her the truth, she'll want to come with you to AquaElement's
place and give a shot at it too. This just a fun thing and I doubt if it
really changes the story.

Anyway, go back to AquaElement once Lynn comes with you.

the sand. Defeat him for the Vortex Crab Claw.

1 --> Bruno's Transhift

I still don't see why Lynn's so interested in you. If you're playing as the
female character, ("What!? I'm a girl!") And afterwards, as she leaves with
AquaElement, if you picked the Oni Child... ("Lynn... Hamana hamana...")
(Sarin: "Wow, I could totally learn a thing or two from her...")

So Lynn takes off with AquaElement and there's a Heal Spot up ahead. Move on
into [A]. Once again, the three switches. Hit the circle and follow the given
path ... to grass. Whatev. Hit the green diamond next. When you come to a
split, move up and use a spear to get the chest. Take the bottom path and
walking past three more switches without touching them, follow it into [B] for
a chest with Sandstone Ore. Go back to the set of switches I told you not to
touch. Hit the blue and follow the path left. Cut some grass in [B] and keep
going into [C] for 7 boxes/barrels. Go back all the way to [A] and where you
hit the blue triangle, now hit the red circle and move left into [D] and
see Sarin again.

Byron comes in and ... yeah. Don't ask what he's wearing. (*sweatdrops* all
around) Just keep moving on to [E]. Go up and we meet Passeau again.

Having a hard time keeping up? If you see two switches, a green and a red,
then you're in [F]. That's where you should be. Hit the red circle first
and follow the path to the right for a Swordstone and a Rare Medal. Go back
and hit the green one. Follow the path. You'll come up on another green and
a blue switch. Hit the blue one and continue. When you have the chance to
move up, don't. Instead, keep going left for a chest with a Rubstone. Now,
go back and up. Get ready for a Boss fight. Byron is hurt, Passeau is like,
omgwtf! and you need to fight this ... boss.

-- Subterranean Bay > [G] > Boss --

Name: Lobsta Dragon (I'm serious)
HP: 3000
DUR:
Strategy: Don't let it corner you. Make sure you can jump over that thing
at all times, or you're going to be beaten to a pulp. Literally. It can use
either claw or both to attack, doing up to 120 damage per hit, or up to 70
individually. The claws can shoot a jet of water at you for damage as well
and Guarding it still makes you take about 50. Use spears or a fast sword.
Knuckles and Drills require you to get way too close and Axes are just
f***ing slow. Hit and run/jump back tactics work well. Be prepared to do
little damage if you haven't been raising your attack every level (I always
go for speed.) Aqua Tornado and Chain Spark won't do much. Your best magic
bet is Burst Flare, actually.

-- Subterranean Bay > [D] --

After the win Byron wants to fight for the stone, but concedes defeat before
he humiliates himself. Interesting. Whatev. Anyway, we head back to Sarin in
[D] with the Opaline Stone. You get a surprise and I won't spoil this one
either. ("Wait, why is everyone falling in love with me? I'm a girl!")

Quickly leave or use your Guardian Beast's Escape technique. Talk to Bruno
("You can't blame me for the hiding spots, dudes.") and Transhift back to
Thunder Fortress.

-- Thunder Fortress --

Head home, or you can go to Water Fortress, but there's really nothing special
there unless you like to fish, in which case, if you run out of Gourmet Clams
and have money to spend, you can boy some for 500 boam each.

-- Water Fortress --

Here, you can get a Polish Stone for 70 boam. It's not like you have to spend
your money on much else either. Get it if you want. Gourmet Clams cost 500
boam. Premium Paper is 200 boam (I still don't know what it does, though.)
Mystery Eggs are 100 boam each.

-- Cliff Village > Your House --

Ah, home at last! Orin and Tatiana are up, along with Blaire. The story kinda
spills between you and Lynn, so.. yeah. (Oni Child: "Nuh-uh! I'm not saying
anything about 'that'.") *hint hint* Anyway, it's nighttime again.

-- Cliff Village --

Ooh, next morning, the whole house shakes. Wonder what's going down. Head to
Goura's Gate, but before that...

You can buy a "Diffusion Device" for 500 boam from the salesperson ro the
right of the Gatekeeper. The cat's missing again and the kids are hanging
around the Cat House. Talk to the boy again and go down the wooden steps to-
ward Ryouga's house. There's a stone on the left, about 3-4 steps away from
the door. The item is there. Go to the right path leading to 3h - the monument
where you can make a wish and the kitty's in the lower left corner. You can
fight Rampage Rabbit again ("Come on! Fight the Rabbit!") if you want. Oh, and
you can also get a Repellant Amulet at the shop for free.

-- Cliff Village > 4h > Rampage Rabbit --

Name: Rampage Rabbit
HP: 1700

You can hit him while he's in the air, but he won't even flinch. Don't get

heals 408 for each carrot. Otherwise, his attacks are the same.

-- Cliff Village > Goura's Gate --

Follow the conversation, as usual, and head down to Borgrim's place. Teleport
to Water Fortress. But you're not even out of the village yet before you
meet Rocky, who wants you to check Wind Fortress first.

-- Entry Woods --

As you step outside, another tremor.

-- Fire Fortress --

Talk to the talkative salesman again for 1000 boam. He'll give you advice on
using Diffusion Devices, which can only be applied to Swords and Knuckles for
a "Fast 3-hit Combo". Otherwise, there's no special attack, but it's still
worth it. You should've gotten some Diffusion Devices from enemy encounters
in Ruined Factory, though. Whatev. There's nothing special in Water Fortress;
the same 4 items as before. Teleport home.

-- Wind Fortress --

Nothing unusual here. Head to Water Fortress now, or you can take the long
way from Wind Fortress.

Head down and left into Roaring Cavern.

The path to [4] should be familiar by now. Borgrim is really pissed. Nina's
worried. Gabriel and Xeride are cool for the moment, and at the suggestion
that we rely on Toumei, you go [...]. Then Gedharm comes in. "Oh-ho! Things
are about to get interesting!" Nina: "You're not interesting!") A rock comes
from Borgrim and you get out of the way. However, the second hits Nina and
she disappears. Hey, she's a ghost.

-- Cliff Village --

Anyway, head back to the village and look for Toumei and Orin. But first,
talk to Rocky and Kara and they'll give you a Kitty Badge. Go talk to the girl
that hangs around the boy that loses his thing to trade it for an Anywhere
Diary. (She's on the lower left of 1h, in front of the Cat House). Both Toumei
and Orin are at the entrance to Goura's Gate so head there. Then, go to
Thunder Fortress.

-- Thunder Fortress --

Apparently, everyone's already gone ahead of you. Go to Ruined Factory.
Remember that locked door from B3 earlier?

-- Ruined Factory B1 --

You should have -1 problems here.

-- Ruined Factory B2 --

Remember that it's two (2) downs and one (1) left. Go into the door. You can
just go down the hole in the floor this time.

-- Ruined Factory B3 --

Once again, everyone comments on how bad you are at machines. ("It's not like
we really need you here anyway, Kattenna." "Yeah, I know. I wouldn't have
been any use at all, even if I tried my best." Tatiana: "Do you want some
cheese with that whine?")

Wow. You actually get to "help Orin out" by getting some parts for him.
Remember the locked door on the left? Well, Xeride's got it open, so go left
from here, into the door, and down the stairs.

Not kidding. We jump from B3 to B5. Anyway, there's another new monster here:
Cattan, which looks like little toy soldiers. They charge at you and throw
bombs that explode. There are also Titanper thingy, which are orange robots
with a giant head. I don't know what they do because I just kept jabbing at
it with a spear and basically perma-stunned it.

Go right into [2] for an Axestone. Now go back and Head down into [3]. Go to
the end and drill a hole in the wall. There's also an inscription.

It looks like I've been going the
right way so far.
However, there's a wall here
blocking my path.
If I had drill...
(Screw this... I'll just paraphrase.)
Basically, drill the hole in the wall and move on already.

You're back up in [2]. If you got the chest earlier, remember the moving
panel? Well, there it is again. If you step on it, you'll have to go through
the whole thing again, so instead, move right and down some stairs into B6.

Follow the path. Once you have a choice of 3 paths to take, notice the switch
tile in the upper left corner. You'll need that later.

Take the middle one into [2] and follow the path into [3]. You'll see 4
crates and a Rare Medal. Now hit the switch (it's right there) and return
to [1]. Hit the switch there to reverse everything again and go down the
right path this time. Follow that and use a drill to break the wall once
you get to one and open 2 chests for an Anywhere Diary and Adaman Ore, along
with a Rare Medal.

Now go back and take the left path. Keep going and step on the moving tiles
into [3]. Move left into [4]. There's your boss fight.

-- Ruined Factory B6 > [4] > Mini-Boss --

Name: Scanner Eye
HP: 3200
DUR:
Strategy: Whoah, this guy is frickin' tall! Jumping over him's going to be
a pain if you're using axes. Expect to do anywhere from 12 to 30 damage to
him depending on your attack power (I do 12). He can raise a hand and pound
the ground to create some seismic waves for damage on either side. He'll
halfway raise a hand and there'll be an aiming thing at you. If this happens,
RUN either away from him, or get right on top of him to avoid attack. That
thing nulls any attempt to guard and does around 130 damage. Sometimes, the
aiming won't occur and instead, he'll shoot 2 bullets at you that go ALL THE
WAY to the ends of the field. Running won't work here, so instead, Guard or
hop over it. Defeat it for a Med Kit and the Mech Core Parts.

If you move ahead, you'll notice that you can't move forward because there's
a gap in the floor. Head back.

-- Ruined Factory B5 --

Remember what I said about the stepping back on the moving tiles thing on
this floor? Well, just keep moving left and you'll get back to [1] without
having to go through [3] again.

using your Guardian Beast's Escape ability. (You need to move over into [2]
to use it.)

-- Thunder Fortress --

No one here to comment on anything for a change. Head back to Cliff Village.

-- Cliff Village > Your House --

Hmm... No one home to greet you either. Sweet~ Go down and heal, repair,
whatever you need to do.

-- Cliff Village --

Head over to Toumei, who's up at 3h at Goura's place. He tells you to
basically go fishing and Prize Exchange for Anti-Demon Ore. So, head over
to the fisherman and start fishing. Get 350 points, I think, and buy an
Anti-Demon Ore. Go forge the sword with it. I suggest you use a spare Sword-
stone, since you're going to be giving it up. Get the Exorcism Blade from
Toumei. Now back to Borgrim.

-- Entry Woods --

Another tremor. The Black Swordsman comes into view and Borgrim screams
loudly. Teleport to Water Fortress. You should know the drill by now.

-- Roaring Cave > [4] --

Borgrim's trying to climb out, Gedharm comes, talks for a bit, then Orin
interrupts him with GUNVALD. ("This is impossible! It's just a trick!" "Don't
you like dirty tricks?" "Only when I'M the one doing the tricking!" "Spoken
like a sore loser...") Long story short, you get in, and everyone else warns
you not to touch anything.

-- ??? > [x] > Boss --

Name: Borgrim
HP: 32000
DUR:
Strategy: Whoah, you can do 2400 damage with a critical hit! You're actually
IN GUNVALD. If you use GUNVALD Laser, the special ability, you do 600 damage
per hit - and you hit Borgrim 13 times!! No problems there, since you don't
even have DUR and you have 9000 HP. This thing is just CRAZY. You can attack
normally for 800 damage and occasionally, Borgrim will Guard, but you still
do 400 damage. Borgrim will basically punch you for 300 damage or bite/head-
butt you for some. Guarding still makes you take about 200. You get no EXP
or anything for winning, though, but it was still a fun fight.

-- Roaring Cave > [4] > Boss --

Name: Blade Wing
HP: 3400
DUR:
Strategy: Be careful if you jump. This guy flies really fast and will knock
you out of the air with his aerial attack, doing more than 200 damage. There-
fore, fighting on the ground is better. He'll jab you for about 80 damage or
swing his tail-like thing around and damage at a distance, but not if you're
right in front of it. There really is no way to avoid damage besides Guarding
since he moves so fast. He'll also aerial attack you if you're on the ground,
and this can't be guarded, so when he rises into the air, RUN or jump over it
if you're reflexive enough and have enough AGL (like me). Crap, that boss is
hard if you have low attack.

-- Roaring Cave --

Anyway, after the fight, Gedharm leaves and ... Borgrim falls asleep. *sweat-
drop* Interesting. Once everyone's out, Ryouga and Passeau come in. GUNVALD
breaks, the two leave, Borgrim wakes up again, and Gabriel comes back in.

550 boam. The cat's somewhere in the village again, so go to Ryouga's house
(middle-bottom of 1h) and it'll be in the top right. The little boy's lost
his thing again. If you talk to the girl, she's stopped caring! Oh no! XD
Anyway, as you come out of the Cat House, it's about 2 steps directly below
the weather vane thingy attached to the fence

If you visit Toumei at the fishing pond, talk to him and he will ask to see
your father's memento. If you let him, he will thank you and give it back. Then
on day 10, he will give you another Red Daemon Gem. If you say no, however,
then... too bad. No second Daemon Gem.

1 --> To Bruno's Transhift

A record of my dungeon adventures:
Part 3-
"The Snow Dungeon"
It was chilly, but I was comforted
by the beautiful panorama around me.
The whiteness astounds me.
I took a step forward, and enjoyed
the crunching of snow beneath
my boots.
After a while, I found a place
where the ground had frozen
into a solid layer of ice.
I thought that it was just a shallow
puddle, so I started to walk across
it. Suddenly, I lost my footing! (omg! what a surprise!)
Since I couldn't stop myself from
sliding, I just gave up struggling
and waited to reach somewhere.
Eventually,I reached the other edge
of the ice, where I could stand up
and escape.
However, I felt that giving up now
would be like letting the ice win.
I proceeded to study the ice by
sliding on it from all angles,
over and over again.
Since I just kept focusing on
sliding and not on how cold it was,
I found a kind of sliding rule.
If I keep a certain angle and seped
up as well as hitting the wall
diagonally, I can slide along the
wall.
It took me some time to figure it
out, but it seems it was worth it.

("Smell the Mana okay?") Move down into [2]. Take the left or right path
into [3] (it doesn't matter). If you've been experimenting, or you just
guessed, you'll find that you slide on ice. Of course. Shouldn't be anything
new.

Couple of new enemies here, but they're mostly the same. There's a Lycaon,
starting with 678 HP. Black Pinchers do the usual stuff, but charge with a
longer range and Winderdogs bite and blast air. Headaches (floating head
skeletons) do the usual - bite and shoot a blue missile. Dark Demons (giant
demonic, full skeletons) blast their Dark Sphere (jump over this and mash
your [A] button to perma-stun it) and swing their scythe. If you're fast
enough, you should be able to perma-stun them. Another new monster is the
Rockhide, a giant golem-like thing that spits rocks at you and pounds on you
for damage. Also has a hell lot of HP and doesn't flinch to attacks, so I
suggest you use Aqua Tornado against him. There's also a new Elewind, which
is a green bird creature that can fly up, even out of spear-range, but it
pecks with its beak and shoots 3 large whirlwinds. It'll also try to run, so
you can just pound on it at the edge of the screen if that's the case. You
can get a Wyvern Claw from it. There are also Foggro, which are just like
their counterpart, Smoggro.

In [3], you walk down to find 2 kids. They start singing about ... "sweet
potatoes". WTF? They turn around to find you and your Guardian Beast right
there, scream, and RUN LIKE CRAZY! Woohoo! Anyway, move on.

In [4], there's a giant patch of ice. Go to the very top and slide straight
across to get to a couple of boxes/barrels. From there, you can also move on
into [5], but don't just yet. Go back across the ice and immediately hold
down-right at the same time. You should end up on a small patch of snow
(labeled S in the diagram below) in the middle of the ice. From there, go
right and bump into a wall, up, left, down just a little bit, and right
again and you should end up at the X. If you can't, for some reason, try it
again and make sure you're moving from the very top right (TOP. The highest
you can go on it without sliding up on the ice.) of the S-spot. Move over into
[5] for a chest with a Crystal and a Rare Medal on the right. You can either
take the top path or the bottom ice path to [5]. It doesn't matter.

In [5], cut some more grass and take out the tree stump in the lower right.
There are some fruit trees at the top. As you're about to move right, you
hear someone going, "Hey!". Move on into [6] to find out who it is. If you
choose it's a male voice, you'll meet a male character and if you chose a
girl's voice, then it'll (predictably) be a girl.

[6]. Here, there's a puny glacier and you're absolutely stunned by it before
... yeah. You get into an argument with 3 people. Being the preemptive
person you are, you take an irritated step forward, which freaks the other
three out and starts your fight.

(Note that I chose "Female Voice" back in [5], so if you choose the other,
this may be a little bit different.)

-- Glacier Gorge > [6] > Mini-Boss --

Name: ??? (The purple-haired girl)
HP: 1400
DUR: 150
Strategy: This shouldn't be too difficult. The only trouble with breaking
her weapon is that she has a 150 DUR sword, which could take a while.
ESPECIALLY DUE TO THE FACT THAT HER DUR REGENERATES WHILE IN BATTLE! Still,
she just triple-swings and Guards for the most part. She'll occasionally
"summon" the guy in glasses you saw earlier and he'll do around 300 damage to
you (nulls guarding, of course). She WILL use this when your HP is low, so
make sure you heal when you're around 350. Also, she will summon the girl
you saw earlier to heal her by 900 HP, so don't worry about KO-ing her if you
want her to break her weapon.

If you really want the item, then I'll tell you this: If you take too much
time, you'll run out of magic AND you won't have any weapons left either. So
what you need to do is Guard and make her attack you. "How do you do this,
sensei?" you ask. Simple. Follow her around because she's not always going to
come to you. She'll always attack you if you stay close to her sword and make
sure you Guard. When she's down to about 2 DUR, she'll wait for her DUR to go
back up to 3 before attacking again. "What do I do now, master?" you ask
again. Once again, simple. Make sure you have more than 200 HP and let her
attack you with her 3-hit combo once or twice (usually once will suffice) and
her DUR will go down to 0. The alternative to this is to attack her instead
and hope she Guards. Whatever you want. Break her weapon for a Mark of
Courage.

Go to the bottom and slide right. Then up and left and you should get to the
bottom right corner of the group of boxes (marked B). As you're going, you
should notice the tiny island in the middle. We'll get there. Anyway, use a
SPEAR to break the bottom 2 crates. Now go back right, down, left, up, and
right again, and you should end up on a patch of snow at the top. There's
some grass there (marked G). Move down from the right end of the stretch of
snow there and you'll be on the middle island. Take aim and you can move on
to [8]. However, don't do that just yet. Go left from the top of the stretch
of ice and down. Use your Spear skills again do break 2 crates on the right.
Then, go back (up and right) to the stretch of snow again and this time, move
down a little bit before going left and down and you should be able to break
the other 2 crates with a spear. Now head into [8]. Note that if you messed
up somewhere, then you need to find your own way. One is to go from the
middle of the left snow bank (M) and hit the wall and go up and right onto G
and follow the above instructions into [8].

[8]. Freezing, yet? To prove that you're with me, cut the 5 bits of grass
you see as you walk in. Otherwise you're not with me. There are 3 fruit trees
up top. And we come to another ice spot. This should be so simple I don't
even have to "draw it." Just pay attention. Before the ice, go to the top of
the snow path and slide straight across to the right. You'll come to a strip
of snow. Go up to the top left of that, and slide diagonally up-left. You
should come to the path leading up to [9]. There are 3 crates, right? Just go
down and get them. Once you break the third (last, bottom, whatever you want
to call it) crate, GO BACK up to the path and you shouldn't have problems.
The only way you can screw this up is if you try to break the last crate too
early, actually break it, and keep sliding down. (Actually, you can't even
screw it up that way, because once you get to the bottom, just slide back up
again.) If you mess this part up, I will seriously LMAO. Move up into [9].

Here, we meet the lost girl. Her expression is blank, her face is white
(though probably from the makeup; not the cold), and she's protecting this
kid. And she has bunny ears. Oookay. Anyway, listen to her story and prepare
for another mini-boss battle.

Oh, on second thought, that's only if you have the devil girl as your Guardian
Beast. It's a slightly different story if you have one of the others, but the
end result is the same.

The girl's name is Hasaha. The boy's about to pee in his pants. Your Guardian
Beast starts singing... remember the potato song earlier? *sweatdrop* That's
the most cheesy thing in the world (and the background music reflects this).

Since you can't go any further yet, go back to the screen where you were
just stunned by the magnificent puny glacier. Remember thatn when you go back
to [8], go diagonally down-right to the strip of snow and at the bottom of
that strip of snow, go straight left, or you might be stuck on ice for a
while. Don't be afraid to use your magic here, especially on Rockhides, since
there's that Heal Spot back there too.

In [7], go diagonally down-left, keep sliding, and when you come to a stop,
just keep holding up-left and you'll get there. The way you mess up in this
is at the beginning, where you hit the bottom stone wall when you try to move
down-left and just move left instead on the ice. Don't make that mistake or
you're figuring out how to get back to [6] the long way. My way should take
you directly to the opening to [6], whereas you're probably going to end up
at the bottom of [7] and have to move up and left into [6] from there.

Anyway, back in [6]. We get back to the glacier, the kid leaves, (well, is
actually dragged off by another child). Go heal and follow the directions
above to get back to [9] and move up into [A].

Large sheet of ice up ahead, but once again, it's pretty simple. There are
a couple of paths to take. You just need to work on your aim. First, go all
the way to the right and up into [B] and [C] and collect some items, including
a Rare Medal. Come back around into [A]. Then, go about 3/4 of the way to
the right and up again. There should be a path with 3 barrels lined up on
either side. Go up into [B] for a Spearstone, Anywhere Diary, and Heartleaf
Potion. Now go back down and to the very left and up again into [C] and just
follow the path right into [D]. There should be a circle of 7 patches of
grass as you're coming in. Be ready as you move into [E].

Ooh, it's Gedharm and Passeau again. She'll summon a ...

-- Glacier Gorge > [E] > Boss --

Name: Ice Golem
HP: 4500
DUR:
Strategy: Wow, I can't believe that thing can FLOAT IN THE AIR! (Yes, should
not believe that either, but no, that's not the strategy here.) Ice Golem has
a couple attacks. If he goes up into the air, do NOT jump up and follow him
unless you're fast enough to get away. He'll crash-land on you, doing heavy
damage if you're underneath. He can also shoot ice spikes for damage and
if you guard, you still take about 55 damage per hit. He'll also breathe ice
to hit you if you're in the air, and somehow, icicles descend on you through
the mist and damage you on the ground for about 145. However, if you have 1-2
spears with good DUR and TEC, this shouldn't be too hard of a fight. I only
had to heal once - no magic.

-- Glacier Gorge --

After the fight, Passeau's disappointed. Gedharm's irritated. Your Guardian
Beast can't be more smug (or at least Aelita). And you're like, wow, that was
scary. Then a man in winter clothing interrupts. He thinks you're all the
evil Summoners. Gedharm tries to blame you, of course, then gets pissed that
the guy's just standing there like an idiot, talking. Then he'll start
Summoning to get rid of the nuisance, but stops as the Daemon Edge reacts.
We hear another mysterious voice. The ground starts shaking and you get the
Blade, but there ground's still shaking. Someone yells, "Wings of Light!"

Just follow the dialogue. (Man: "You're all freakin' weirdos!" Everyone else:
"...") The kid comes up to his dad, I think, and explains that you're not the
evil summoners and all that. You get some sweet potatoes. Yay~ XD (*music
note*) Then everyone's about to leave. (Toris: "I wish our real goal wasn't
Kathura.")

Kattenna and Aelita: [?]
Toris: [!] ... *freaking out*

Gabriel's hurt and they walk him back to your house. If you go back, you'll
see the party in the main room.

-- Water Fortress --

Talk to the Salesman here after talking to the woman in the house on 1h who's
making curry to get the Mild Spices. Then go back and deliver them to her.

Teleport to either Wind or Water Fortress and head for the Garden. I'm taking
the Wind Fortress path.

-- Forest Outskirts > [4] > Boss --

Name: Death
HP: 5200
DUR:
Strategy: Another boss fight already? Death will swing his scythe/axe thing
mostly, though if his eyes glow blue and you hear a sound effect, he'll
breathe a blue spirit thing to come and damage you. If you have the AGL,
jump over it, since it goes almost the distance of the battlefield, or Guard
the attack. He'll also open up a portal-like thing and damage you if you're
within range. Tactic: if you have good TEC with a spear and good AGL (like
me), you can jump at him while spinning your spear and then jump away. He'll
mostly try to do his normal swing at you, but miss. Get a Demon Horn from
him after you win.

-- Forest Outskirts --

Turns out Passeau was supposed to be bait while Gedharm went to steal the
Daemon Edges. Of course. Didn't I say I thought the Edges were going to be
stolen? (I didn't go back to write that. It was really a guess. I'm serious!
Aren't a lot of stories like that? You almost collect something and they get
stolen and there's nothing you can do?) Head back home.

-- Cliff Village --

Hmm... everyone's either pissed at you or whatever, and they're not saying
anything. What happened here? Even the Gatekeeper's annoyed. Uh oh. The
chief's looking especially grave and irritated as you enter your house.
("(Oh, great.) Here they come.") Finish talking and head back to where you
faught Passeau - Forest Outskirts > [4]. The Black Swordsman will be there.

-- Forest Outskirts --

He's already given the Daemon Edges to Gedharm. Too late. Well, no matter
whether you choose to fight for your innocence or fight for the village, you
get into a fight.

-- Forest Outskirts > [4] > Boss --

Name: Blk Swordsman
HP: 1650
DUR: 250
Strategy: Ugh... 250 DUR, are you joking me? The Black Swordsman will do his
usual triple-strike attack, block, use his Weapon's Special Attack, which is
a blast of about 150 damage forward, and summon a Wind Tornado. He's also
changed his battle cry - he now growls like a wild bear and barks like a dog.
I'm serious. That's what it sounds like. Anyway, just be glad that he doesn't
have DUR Regen. Break his weapon for a Lion Crest.

-- Forest Outskirts --

Turns out it was ... Gabriel? o_o I trusted him. He just wanted to go home
and his nose explains how he knew the Swords were there. ("I wanted to go
back to Maetropa... That's why...!") New background music, though. Sounds
pretty nice. Fitting, I mean. ("You don't know what it's like to be stolen
from where you belong, Kattenna. I just... I wanted... ...to go home...")
According to Gabriel's information, we need to go even deeper into the forest
to get to Gedharm and defeat his Summon creature to bring the Village back to
normal. Gabriel runs away, Xeride with him.

Cut some grass to your right before moving on into [2].

New monsters here include Maizaille, a slightly stronger version of the
Gazelle, and Rainboy, the pinkish thing that doesn't do too much. There are
also Hannya, demonic face-things, and Chamedeon (wind-elemental). There are
also Gunner Giants and I don't need to describe them because they should be
prettty obvious. You should be able to perma-stun them with spear attacks.
Another new monster is the Skullbear - a bear with a skull for a face.
*sweatdrop* I don't want to get close enough to find out what it does, so I'm
going to jab him with my spear. Unfortunately, he runs and charges mostly,
or swipes at you with his claws. Annoying. The fourth new monster is the Big-
mouth, a giant alligator/crocodile. Usually comes with the Skullbear, though
batteries not included. Remember the Bugball? There's now the Hangball, which
looks the same, though is slightly improved.

Go down the vine in [2] and back left into the lower half of [1]. Enter the
cave.

-- Vanishing Forest > [6] > Boss --

Name: Orin
HP: 1700
DUR: 250
Strategy: 250 DUR on a drill is going to be tough to bring down. Make sure
you have all 3 weapon slots filled with good weapons with DUR totaling about
600. He'll occasionally Weapon Guard as well, so during that time, don't
attack him - just evade by jumping. He's very close-range oriented, so you
can jab him with a spear for an easy win and evade in the same way. He'll
also occasionally summon his Guardian Beast to use Chain Spark. Beat him for
a Machinery Scroll.

-- Vanishing Forest --

You GAVE HIM TATIANA'S SWEETS?! Who told you to GIVE HIM TATIANA'S SWEETS?!!
Oh, well. Uh, Orin faints, then gets back up. He turns against Gedharm and
takes him down to the ground. Gedharm doesn't realize Orin's purpose until he
shows the Daemon Edges.

-- Vanishing Forest > [6] > Boss --

Name: Gedharm/Gedharm Gunner
HP: 1700/1500
DUR: 265/0
Strategy: Wait ... WHAT? SHIT! All of my weapons have low DUR after that
fight with Orin! Crap! I don't think it's even possible to break Gedharm's
weapon, since it has 265 F***ING DUR! Anyway, Gedharm Gunner will punch very
short-range, or throw out random bombs. Gedharm has a drill, which makes
bringing down his DUR even harder. And to make things even worse, Gedharm
will re-summon a Gedharm Gunner at full health if you KO one. To win, break
Gedharm's weapon or KO him. Uh, since I didn't break his weapon, could some-
one tell me what item he gives you for breaking his weapon?

You get another Machinery Scroll for this. Your EXP gained also depends on how
many times you've taken out Gedharm Gunner.

-- Vanishing Forest --

Gedharm goes crazy, but then Ryouga comes and stops him. Gedharm flees from
Ryouga's transformation and then he advises you to get some rest. Let's head
back home. I suggest you use your Guardian Beast's Escape. You'll need 2 of
those and you should have them. Escape first to the entrance to Vanishing
Forest from Forest Outskirts. Move up into Forest Outskirts.

-- Forest Outskirts --

Escape again to the top entrance to Wind Fortress and get home from the Tele-
porter.

-- Lost Woods --

As you try to enter Cliff Village, Lynn appears. She wants you to tell her
what has happened, but you insist it's nothing.

-- Cliff Village > Your House --

Return home.

          ...
Kattenna: Yeah... But I have to re-hide the Daemon Edges before that.
Tatiana: Where had you hidden them before?
Kattenna: Hehehe. I won't tell you that!
Orin: Come on! Tell me! I knew you had some fake ones hidden under your
bed, but where were you keeping the real ones?
Kattenna[looks surprised]
Blaire: I saw through the fake ones, but I'd also like to know where you
           were keeping them.
Tatiana: Nobody'd be fooled by the ones you hid under the bed!
Kattenna: Huh? Uh... well... That's true...
Tatiana: So where'd you hide them?
Kattenna[is starting to sweat]
Kattenna: I already said. I can't tell you...
Orin: Give me a break! Just tell us!
Kattenna[takes a step back]
Blaire: Please...
Kattenna[takes another step back]
kattenna: Waaaa! I'm sorry!
Kattenna[runs downstairs, about to cry]
Tatiana, Orin, Blaire[looks confused]
Tatiana: Why are you apologizing to us?
Aelita: I guess Kattenna feels guilty about something... Hehehe...

Nighttime. Hide the Daemon Edges under the bed again for three reasons: One,
since no one will think they're real except Gabriel, and two, Gabriel's not
coming to get them again (or is he?) so they should be safe. And thirdly,
since it was your Guardian Beast's advice. Go take a breath of fresh air.

If you talk to Orin, he'll apologize and you two get half-mushy again. The
conversation turns to Tatiana's sweets ("It was like getting slapped with a
moldy piece of cheese.")

If you talk to Gabriel, he's surprisingly still in the woods.... Aww....
(Huh? What? Nothing! I wasn't doing anything. I mean -)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Next morning, Orin and Tatiana come rushing in. This can't be too good. Go
upstairs to meet Master Blaire. ("Come back alive! Just remember that! That's
an order!") Go to Bruno at Thunder Fortress, but first...

The cat's missing again. The boy's right outside. RIGHT. If you talk to the
girl standing right (left) outside the path to your house, she'll mention that
the boy's item is around there somewhere. From where she's standing, go dia-
gonally down-left 3 steps or from the weather vane thingy on the fence, go
left about 1 step to find the item.

Go up to the monument (the place where your wish is supposed to come true or
whatever) on 3h and you can buy a Crimson Horn for 650 boam. Fight the Rampage
Rabbit again. Go to the fishing spot in 3h and the cat's on the left. As
you're heading there, you'll also talk to Rocky and Kara, who let you know
that Orin AND Lynn are in danger and that you need to pick up the pace.

-- Cliff Village > 4h > Rampage Rabbit --

Name: Rampage Rabbit
HP: 3350
DUR:
Strategy: Still not too hard. Same as usual, just more HP and more hop.

-- Fire Fortress --

You can get information about Upgrading for 1600 boam - you can do damage to
just the enemy's weapon by using 3 Hard Shells on a weapon and getting the
"Arm Breaker" Special Attack. He'll also give you 3 Hard Shells. FINALLY!

-- Thunder Fortress --

Talk to a few people, including - surprise! - Toumei. If you talked to him on
Day 8 or 9 and answered yes when he wanted to see your father's memento, then
he'll give you a second Red Daemon Gem.

Anyway, go up to Bruno and he'll explain that "Gohen Blade" is the last
Daemon Edge. ("What's with you, dude?") Just as you're about to go, the
whole place shakes and everyone comes in, saying that Passeau's attacking the
Fortress. Quickly head to Oni Hot Springs before the whole place falls apart.

1 --> To Bruno's Transhift

A record of my dungeon adventures
Part 4-
"The Hot Spring Dungeon"
As soon as I entered the area, I
noticed two things: the hot air
and the foul smell of sulphur.
What made the hot springs so hot?
I thought the answer could be found
underground. Driven by curiousity,
I entered a nearby cave and
descended into an area that seemed
to be from another world.
The bad air made me dizzy in this
dark and moist cave, but I
continued onward.
Suddenly, a hude blast of steam
appeared directly in my path!
I realized that these steam blasts
appeared to occur at regular
intervals.
I managed to time my progress,
and made it past the steam without
being cooked like a lobster.
Deeper inside, I found a small
pond of steaming water. A fountain
of hit water rose from this pond.
I was getting annoyed by the high
humidity and the poor visibility,
and my underwear was riding up.
I still don't know why, but I
decided to take my aggression out
on the fountain in front of me.
With a mighty swing of my hammer,
I brought it down squarely on top of
where the waer was spouting from.
Unbelievably, the water stopped
gushing from that spot, and the
steam cleared up a bit!
My fit of rage had allowed me
to progress more easily!
I was cheered up by this, and
concentrated on clearing up my view
by hitting more geysers.

Move right into [2].

Wow, everything here is a shade of red! The fruit trees in [2] are red, the
3 spots of grass are red... yeah.

New enemies here include Strawboy - a creature made out of straw, obviously.
Hmm... wonder why they haven't burned up yet. There are also Kero Ninja, or
frogs in capes that throw shruikens or fight with them. If they throw, jump
straight up - not back - or you'll get hit. Stay a spear's distance away to
avoid the giant shruiken that they sometimes use. There are also Fire Mages
and Oni Foxes. Remember the Brute Monks from SN1? They're still here. They're
still easy to take down from range (just jump back when it's about to throw
you), though if you get close, they'll stomp on you, doing quite a bit of
damage. Manty will also appear - giant ogre-like creatures with snake tails.
It punches and if the tail lashes out, a small lightning bolt comes down.
You can also meet Ying and Yang, both with 1500 HP. They both can teleport
and summon firestreams, though they usually do the former and stab with their
spears, doing 140 and 240 damage without guard. Light one's Yang, Dark one's
Ying, in case you didn't know. Remember Elewind? Now there's Elefire as well.
I kinda killed it too quickly and it didn't do anything.

Just follow the path into [4] while getting the little stuff along the way.
It's misty here and the screen may go almost white for a few seconds. Go up
the stairway you see (next to the miniature waterfall). Go left and you'll
note the tiny geyser. Remember the message from earlier? Smack it with your
hammer and the mist will go away. There's also a Rare Medal left there, so
pick that up. Go down the waterfall and to the left is a chest. Open that,
then go back up, right, down some stairs and up another set (pass a giant
waterfall) and continue right.

Go down the stairs in [5] and just follow the path. In [7], you hear something
and wonder if it's ... Ryouga? It's steamy again in [8]. Uh... ("No, it's a
human!") Tiny hot springs scene here... *sweatdrop* Turns out these 2 people
are ninjas taking the day off or whatever. Anyway, a double-fight begins.

-- Oni Hot Springs > [8] > Double-Boss --

Name: Kuuya/Kohina
HP: 1750/1700
DUR: 150/130
Strategy: By the way, the girl's Kohina and the guy's Kuuya. The girl has the
claws, the guy has the scythe. Get it right. If Kuuya jumps, you'll see a
shadow on the ground. Get away from that, or he's going to do more than 200
damage, null guard, on you. They love to gang up on you, so if you let that
happen, Kohina will stab you to death with her claws (counts as Knuckles),
and Kuuya will double-slash you with his scythe (counts as Axes) - AT THE
SAME TIME! You'll take about 400 damage, so stay away from them and use a
spear. Kohina will sometimes boost her Speed, which makes that even worse.
She can also Aqua Tornado if you constantly Guard. Obtain a Ninja Scroll for
each person's weapon you break.

-- Oni Hot Springs --

Finish the conversation, heal at the triangle at the right, and move on into
[9]. Misty. Go up when you can and you'll see a few spots of grass. On the
right of those is the spring, so whack it and the mist disappears. Go
directly left from there to get to 2 fruit trees and 2 chests with a Med Kit
and a Rubstone. Go down and keep going into [A].

Once again, it's misty in here. Follow the path up the stairs, go right and
up for a total of 7 patches of grass, then down the stairs on the right.
You'll see the geyser on your right, so whack it again. Go down from there
to get a Rare Medal, then head back up and the newly appeared chest from the
little area that used to have 4 patches of grass (before you cut them away,
duh!) and then go up-left into [B] and follow the path.

[C]. Mist. Go up the stairs, right, and down the stairs and smack the geyser.
Go back up and left, then down the waterfall and get the chest with an Any-
where Diary. Go down into [D]. Notice the left path? That's the way back up.
There are a couple bits of grass and a few boxes there. Move left and follow
the path into [E].

How nice. Kohina's the reception committee. She's waiting for you to get
killed, so ... yeah. Whatev. This means that the boss is in the next screen.
Be ready.

-- Oni Hot Springs > [G] > Boss --

Name: Shaman Monkey (*sweatdrop*)
HP: 6700
DUR:
Strategy: He'll look like he's using ninjutsu, and that means he'll bring
down something like flower petals at almost 3 spears' range to do about 50
for each hit (nulls Guard attempt). If you have good speed, as you see him
about to do this, run and jump over him and attack from behind to do good
damage for a while. He'll also take off his bead necklace and thrust it at you
for a decent amount of damage. If you try to Guard against this and are not
successful at a complete Guard, you take half of what you normally do. This
might be your only strategy if you have low speed but good attack - just stay
as far away from him as you can while attacking him and Guard when necessary.
If you can do decent damage (around 150), then you can make him flinch every
time you hit him. He'll also swipe upwards with his claws for damage and this
also nulls any attempt to Guard. Also, getting knocked out of the air with
this move Hurts. (Notice the capital there.) If you can jump over him and
damage at the same time, then jump back and forth over him while doing damage.
This way, you won't get hit ... until he catches on to what you're doing.
Defeat him for a Kishin Horn.

-- Oni Hot Springs --

After the fight, Kohina faints and you need to carry her back to the hot
springs.... Wait... you didn't get the SWORD? WHY DIDN'T YOU GET THE SWORD?!
Great. You're both turning scarlet during this conversation (which gives you a
hint on what you guys are talking about). Now, go back to where you were
before to get the sword. In [G], you'll meet Ryouga again and this time, he
won't let you off so easily. Gabriel rushes in and takes a stab at him with
his sword, but gets knocked aside. ("Dammit! Play dead, Gabriel!") Poor guy.
Anyway, you'll fight with Ryouga.

-- Oni Hot Springs > [G] > Boss --

Name: Ryouga
HP: 2500
DUR: 150
Strategy: He has DUR Regen as well, so if you're trying to bring down his
weapon, this could take a while. He has claws, which count as knuckles, so
if you let him hit you while you're off guard, that could really hurt. Try
to make Ryouga use his special attack, since it'll cost him 20 DUR. He also
heals 1250 HP if his HP is low. Defeat him for a Kishin Horn.

-- Oni Hot Springs --

Things get interesting. Not going to spoil it here, though. Anyway, head back
to Bruno the long way or by using Escape ("What's the matter with you? You're
pretty bummed, dude.")

-- Thunder Fortress --

Everyone makes you tell them what happened, so ... yeah.

-- Cliff Village > Your House --

It's the sad background music here.... Nighttime stroll again. If you've
talked to Gabriel whenever you could, then he'll want you to meet him at Wind
Fortress, so if you're going to follow this walkthrough, then I suggest you
choose to go see Gabriel tonight. Be warned that your ending will be deter-
mined based on who you meet tonight.

- Aelita (Guardian Beast)
The only place you can see the moon briefly, where your house originally
   was. It's a good place.
- Tatiana
   At the monument. Nothing special.
- Gabriel
See below for the conversation. It's in the forest, so there isn't much
night sky, but it's a good conversation.
- Lynn
Outside Goura's Gate. Also nothing special.
- Orin
By the waterfall. The sound effects are nice, but ... aw, he leaves you
   hanging there at the waterfall....
- Nina
At Borgrim's cave. I really don't like hanging out with giant, uh, monsters
in the middle of the night in a cave, so... yeah.

-- Forest Outskirts > [4] > Nighttime --

Gabriel[walks in this time instead of Kattenna]
Kattenna: Gabriel...
Gabriel: I'm sorry that you kad to kill Ryouga because of me. (Oops. Guess I
spoiled that already. That's what happened at Oni Hot Springs.)
Kattenna: Oh no... It's not your fault, Gabriel. It was my fault...
Gabriel: No, it's not your fault! You were trying to rescue us, and we
didn't have any other choice! There is nothing wrong in helping
your friends, Kattenna! It's all my fault!
Kattenna[sadly]: Gabriel...
Gabriel: I'm sorry, Kattenna... I don't think I can ever see you again... I
           should go...
Kattenna: Oh no... Gabriel,... Are you going to leave me as well?
Gabriel[surprised]: What!? Kattenna?
Kattenna: Oh no... I guess my power is only making people unhappy.
Xeride: That's not true. Gabriel and I were saved thanks to you.
Kattenna[about to cry]: Then why are you leaving!?
Gabriel: I'm sorry, Kattenna... I guess I was selfish. I didn't want to face
you because of what I made you do...
Kattenna: Gabriel?
Gabriel[happily]: Kattenna... Tomorrow, let's meet up at the Wind Brigade's
           secret fort.
Kattenna[surprised]: Huh?
Gabriel: I'll be waiting for you, so promise that you'll show up.

Gabriel and Xeride leaves. Kattenna stares after them, wondering what that
was all about.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-- Cliff Village > Your House --

Aelita (Your Guardian Beast) leaves. Before you go to Wind Fortress, the cat
is missing again. Talk to the girl to the left of the waterfall on 1h
(apparently Rocky's still dating) for a Tablecloth. Go to the right and talk
to the old woman standing in front of the chief's house (still 1h) and give
her the Tablecloth for an Anywhere Diary. The boy that loses his things is
outside (top-left) of the Curry House. And his item is below the girl that you
talked to earlier for the tablecloth and a little bit to the left. The cat's
in the lower left corner of the Shop. You can buy a Monger Bracer
from the Salesman staring at the waterfall on 2h. It lowers attack by 20!
Cool! And it lets you earn extra money when you win in combat. Unless you're
dirt frickin' poor, don't do it. When you leave Cliff Village, you
automatically get to Wind Fortress.

-- Wind Fortress --

Aww... I think he likes you (if you're playing as the female character).

If you talked to Orin instead, then this is how the conversation goes:

-- Cliff Village > Lake --

Orin: Hey, Kattenna.
Kattenna: So, why are we here? How come you called me out to the lake...?
Orin: I told you that you need to chill out, right? Well, how does going
for a nice swim sound to you?
Kattenna: What!? Where did that idea come from?
Orin: What's with that reaction? We used to swim together all the time
           way back when...
Kattenna: Well...
Orin: Do you remember? The first time when we all came here together...
You should've said you didn't know how to swim, but you ended up
           almoste drowning yourself...
Kattenna: That was so long ago...
Orin: Don't you remember? When that happened, Dad told you that courage
and recklessness are different. You're doing the same thing as
           you did then...
Kattenna: But that odesn't mean that Goura will seal itself up while we swim!
           I've got to...
Orin: Don't give in to despair, even if you're shocked about Ryouga. Do
you think you can face Goura when you fear your own powers as the
Edge Fencer!? If you go in to Goura's Gate now, then you will
really be lost before you reach him...
Kattenna: Orin... But... you know, I'm scared... If that power takes over me
again, who knows what terrible things I'd do...
Orin: If that should happen, I'll bring you back to your senses, as you
           did for me.
Kattenna: Huh...?
Orin: Oh, boy... Did you forget about the seal on the sheath of the
Daemon Edge? Ah... Well... Since Dad's not recovered, I'm the only
one that can go with you. Have a little faith in me, okay?
Kattenna: ... Orin... I'm sorry!
Orin: Hey, hey! What's the matter?
Kattenna: Unconsciously, I started thinking I was the only person who could
stop Goura... It's not true at all, though... I can't seal Goura
off without everyone's help...! I forgot such an important thing...
I forgot such an important thing... I, I...!
Orin: That's right! You're not alone. I am always on your side! All you
have to do is do what needs to be done the best you can!
Kattenna: Orin... Thanks...
Orin: Well, I hope I can be more helpful than Aelita...
Kattenna: Hehe, do your best!
Orin: You're a smart mouth, aren't you?
Kattenna: Well? On second thought, shall we go for a swim?
Orin: Huh, what the heck are you saying?

-- Cliff Village > Your House --

Wow, nighttime came quickly! You don't get to talk with anyone tonight. Darn.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-- Day 12 --
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-- Cliff Village --

Next morning, you hear someone calling for help. ("It's never easy for us.")
Nina's fading away. Wow! Anyway, go outside and talk to the boy, who's hanging
around with the girl again in front of the entrance to the lake. You should
remember where the item is - top left of the Curry House. The cat's missing
again. You can buy a Ninja Ring (best ring) from the Salesman for only 750
boam on the second floor of Chief's house. The cat's right next to your house,
in case you wanted to know. You get a nice Ninja Scroll II for this~ ^-^ And
now, go fight the RampageRabbit, though you'll only get about 1000 EXP.

-- Cliff Village > 4h > Rampage Rabbit --

Name: Rampage Rabbit
HP: 2500? (Sorry, I missed this - too focused on the fight. Someone else get
           this?)
DUR:
Strategy: Still nothing much to it if you've maximized ATK.

-- Water Fortress --

We've gone through this so many times. You should know how to get to Borgrim
from here.

-- Roaring Cave --

You need to find Toumei, since he's the only one that can help Nina get back
into her body. ("He's usually never anywhere where people want him.") Move
right twice to that mudslide to find Toumei.

He'll tell you to go meet him at the fishing hole back at Cliff Village. (He
suddenly knows the way out?!!) Anyway, you wonder if Passeau has any weak-
nesses and recall that when you went to get Sarin's Opaline Stone... A LOBSTER
CLAW! Yes! Of course. We're going to make a sword out of a lobster claw. Use
Escape twice to get yourself back to Wind Fortress.

-- Fire Fortress --

For 1800 boam, you can get more info! Sweet! If you use 3 Demon Horns, you
add a Critical Powerup to Special Effect, which lets you do more damage when
your health is low.

-- Cliff Village > Your House --

You should already have at least 1 Vortex Crab Claw and 1 spare sword left
(unless you don't use a sword, which would make 2 left). Anyway, make the
Vortex Sword and go to Toumei. Go out to Entry Woods to find Xeride, who
Transhifts you to Thunder Fortress.

-- Thunder Fortress --

As you arrive, a mysterious voice (Passeau) goes, "Where is Ryouga? Take me
there!"

-- Thunder Fortress > [3] > Boss --

Name: Passeau/Bone Knight
HP: 1500/1200
DUR: 270/0
Strategy: Passeau has a spear. NOOOOoooo! She's defiled the spear! That's MY
WEAPON! The Bone Knight will swing his sword and roll-charge at you, doing
about 30 damage - for every hit for around 3-4 hits. Passeau will spin her
spear if you're too close and stab at you if you're the right distance away.
Like Gedharm, defeating the Bone Knight will just make Passeau resurrect it
again by summoning. To break her weapon without using Arm Breaker, go to the
ends of the fight field and have Passeau attack. Her spear slows her down, so
you should be able to mostly Guard without taking damage. Be aware that Bone
Knight will roll on top of you if you stay there too long, though. 270 DUR
does really take forever to bring down. Break her weapon for a Tyrant Soul-
stone.

-- Thunder Fortress --

After the fight, Passeau is exorcised, but it might be too late! Xeride
hastily Transhifts us to Borgrim's cave and Nina ... is ... alright! Well, of
course. Anyway, she's back in her own body now, and thanks you. ("Master!
Stop getting mushy around all the women we meet!")

-- Cliff Village --

Go home, heal yourself and repair your weapons, and get the Daemon Edges from
your bed. Orin gets home as well and when you head upstairs, the Chief will
be there as well. ("Of course, if you fail... You'll be dead! And so will
we!")

-- Cliff Village > Goura's Gate --

Get there, and as you're about to enter, Ryouga appears. He's determined to
stop you, so fight! Fight! FIIIIIIGHT!

-- Cliff Village > Goura's Gate > Boss --

Name: Ryouga
HP: 3000
DUR: 180
Strategy: Hmm... low DUR. Why do I suspect DUR Regen? Not only that, each
Knuckle hit does around 32 damage with guard and he's FAST! Don't Guard very
often. Hit him instead and hope he guards. He'll use his Special Ability like
before, which, once again, knocks off 20 DUR. He'll even use Speed Boost to
raise his AGL even more!!! He'll also use Healing Spell when his HP is low,
so don't worry about KO-ing him if you want to break his weapon. Wow. I got
more Bonus than EXP. Break his weapon for the Doji Soulstone.

-- Cliff Village --

After the fight... No, I won't spoil it. I just knew that Lynn was a traitor.

-- Cliff Village > Your House --

Your weapons and health have recovered. Talk to Blaire, answer Yes, then end
the chat.

Head outside nad as you go past the entrance up to 3h, you see Rocky and Kara
there. (... "I'm sorry..." Rocky: "Why are you apologizing to me? What's
wrong with you today?" "We're perfectly all right. We're fine. We're all fine
here, now, thank you. How are you? You know what? I really don't care." Rocky:
"Woo... Why are you mad at me!?") Go find the missing cat and talk to the boy
that loses things - he's right outside the Cat House. The cat is in front of
the Chief's house and the boy's item is where he was before - the lower right
of the little area that leads to the lake. The salesman there will sell you a
Tyrant Soulstone. The RampageRabbit is ready to roll again ... with 6400 HP.

-- Cliff Village > 4h > Rampage Rabbit --

Name: Rampage Rabbit
HP: 6400
DUR:
Strategy: --

-- Cliff Village > Goura's Gate --

Continue at Goura's Gate. Be ready. Talk with a few people, then fight with
Master Blaire!!

-- Cliff Village > Goura's Gate > Boss --

Name: Blaire
HP: 2500
DUR: 290
Strategy: Just be glad he doesn't have DUR Regen. He's surprisingly quick
with the axe, so don't underestimate him. He'll also Special Attack you by
spinning around with his axe, doing about 100 damage per hit. This costs
him 10 DUR, though, so if you can constantly evade it, that'll help bring
down his DUR quickly. He summons his Guardian Beast for Healing Spell,
Aqua Tornado, and Enchant Aqua. Break his weapon for the Eye of Truth.

-- Cliff Village > Your House --

Return home, heal and recover your weapons.

-- Fire Fortress --

More Upgrading information for 2000 boam. A Beast Crest, Beast King Crest,
and a Lion's Crest together creates this Special Effect called Shatter
Strike. It breaks your weapon, but does a hell lot of damage to your foe.
He'll give you those three materials, of course. Decide whether you want to
use it or not.

-- Goura Labyrinth Ground Level -- (I like this background music.)

1 --> To Cliff Village
1 --> To Goura Labryinth B1

Note: From now on, the number in the [] definitely corresponds to the Area.
In other words, I've taken the pains and time to make sure it matchest with
the game, as this is, of course, the most important section of the whole main
story. There is more after this, though (notice that your scroll bar for this
document is only about 2/3 of the way down or that you still have quite a lot
of pages left if you've printed). I also have listed monsters in these areas,
which may or may not help.

(i.e. Goura Labyrinth B1 [1] = Goura Labyrinth B1 Area 1). This will also be
true for the Epilogue section.)

New monsters:
- Brownie, HP: 650, Appearance: reddish thing with a spear. Floats in the
air and will jab at you if you're close. Also shoots wind.
- Harricade, HP: 1250, Appearance: blue kangaroo. Very annoying. Shoots wind
   at a very long range.
- Clock Knight, HP: 2400, Appearance: You've faced one before. Perma-stun
it with your spear or you could start taking a lot of damage.
- Yasha Spider, HP: 3900, Appearance: Wow.. if you don't know, then you're
   frickin' retarded. Perma-stun it.
- Tsuchigumo, HP: 4100, Appearance: red demonic thing. Perma-stun-able.

Returning monsters:
- Dragon Puppy, HP: 670, Now bites as well.
- Striker, HP: 600, More annoying than ever, as it floats higher and higher.
- Squibolt, HP: 1450, Now perma-stun-able with a spear.
- Red Dragon, HP: 3200, Same old dragon, but now perma-stun-able as well.
- Tumbler, HP: 2800, Still not perma-stun-able. Oh well. Hit-and-run.

Go around the pillars in [1]. Then There are 3 paths you can take - the left
and right lead to 4 crates each, the middle goes on. Use your Knuckles to
move some rocks out of the way and do down.

Follow the path. You'll eventually come to an area with 2 boulders. Use
Knuckles to move both up to the platforms with an eye insignia on them. This
opens the door to [2] and follow it around and down into [3]. Take the first
path right that you see, past 3 robot things, and enter the door back up
into [2]. Go right and take the boxes out, then go down fro 2 chests with
an Anywhere Diary and Med Kit. Go back to where you were in [3] and go down.

That red stuff down there is basically ice. You see 2 boulders once again that
need to be moved.

robot eyes and find the real one, or that'll take forever. No, I'll just let
you guess which combination opens the door above. Hint: It really works.

Second hint: Remember the combination/pattern I told you to remember earlier?
Well, if you don't, you can always try random combinations until it works.
You'll know it worked when the room shakes.

1 --> To Goura Labyrinth B4

Ooh, a pushing maze here. I'm too lazy to draw, so you'll have to figure it
out on your own, unless you want to try to follow this explanation. Push the
boulder as far right as it can go (which isn't that far). Then go around and
push it up. Go around and push it right again 2 units. A unit equals a tile,
which equals the diameter (distance across) of the boulder. Everything here
in this puzzle is like a tile. (Ever played Final Fantasy Tactics/Advance?)
Now go around again and push it up until you can't any more (total 4 units).
Now push it left 2 units (once again, it's NOT all the way to the wall.)
Push the boulder up 6 units, which is 18 hits with the knuckles. Go all the
way around it and push it right 2 units. Here's the catch.

Push it DOWN 2 UNITS!

If you pushed it up instead, then you have no way of moving it both right and
down. Just trust me on this.

Now push it right against the wall (2 units that way) and up (4 units). Make
sure that when you're pushing up, you can get above it to push down several
units on the ice slide on your right.

The rest of the way should be pretty obvious. The object of this is to get the
boulder on the ice path on the right so you don't slip all the way to the
bottom. (There's a path that you continue on, but you need the boulder to
stop you or you slide all the way to the bottom.)

If you do this once correctly, when you come back, you don't need to do this
again. Same as for some of the other puzzles.

Move right, past 2 robots standing guard there, break 6 boxes/barrels, and go
up. Hit [A] on the door to enter. You're now in [2].

Be ready.

Aelita: What's this? I'm starting to feel sick.
Kattenna: Can you feel it too? The presence of something... Goura's Hall must
           be ahead here.
Aelita: But I don't see Lynn here...
Kattenna: I'm sure they are watching us from somewhere really close by...
Where are you, Lynn? I know you're here somewhere!

Lynn[from below]: I knew you'd be able to notice me, Kattenna. You've become
           so strong and wise.
Lynn[enters, dragging Orin and Tatiana].
Kattenna: Orin! Tatiana! Are you guys okay!?
Lynn: They've been exposed to Goura's energy, but they will recover.
Kattenna: Lynn... I've finally chased you this far. Please, let them go!
Lynn: I can't do that yet. I feel bad for them, but they need to remain
here until Goura has been revived...
Kattenna: Lynn... Please, can't you stop this!?
Lynn: Kattenna... I...
          Rrgh!
Kattenna: Lynn!? It's the bond, isn't it?
Lynn: That's right... I can't disobey. I have to do this. It's for Master
           Guren and Goura...
And you... Your Daemon Edges, and even part of your spirit... They
           all belong to Goura!
Kattenna: Lynn...
Lynn: Now open the door and take me to Goura. You can do it, can't you?
Kattenna: ...
          Very well...

Kattenna walks to the door, pulls out the Daemon Edge. The room shakes. The
door opens. They enter.

Lynn: Finally...
          This day has finally come...
Kattenna: Lynn... Do you really have to revive Goura?
Lynn: Please don't look sad, Kattenna... Don't you know that it's
humanity's fault that Goura is trapped like this?
Kattenna: About that, though...
Lynn: My family, all of us who are related to Goura... We all had our
powers diminished when Goura was stolen from our world and brought
           here.
Master Guren heard a story that said Goura could be revived.
And the more he researched it, the more possible it became.
Kattenna: But Lynn... If we revived Goura...
Lynn: Yes... He could to anything to the humans here.
Do you think it's wrong to see revenge on the ones that wronged
you? Those who kidnapped, tortured, and imprisoned you?
But I'm, done debating with you. Even now, Goura's power is enough
           to affect the humans above.
Kattenna: Ugh...
Lynn: It's too late now. We don't have any other options.
Orin... I need you to break the seals on the Daemon Edges. Do it,
          or Tatiana dies!
Orin[walks up to Kattenna]
Orin: Oh, Kattenna... I'm sorry... I'm the reason you're doing this,
           aren't I?
Kattenna: Hey, I know... It's not your fault, Orin...
(So I guess I don't have a choice... Do I have to break the seals
           on the Daemon Edges?)
Aelita: ...
Kattenna: (Oh yeah! Aelita has the radio! I just hope we can reach Gabriel
           and Xeride...)

You now have a choice.
- Give a signal to Aelita. [?] [...] and [*sweatdrop*]
- Unseal the Daemon Edge.

Either way, you unseal the Daemon Edge. After your 3rd, Orin will sink to his
knees on the ground.

Kattenna: Are you all right?
Orin: Yeah... I'm still hanging in there...
Aelita: This power... I don't feel so well...
Lynn: Goura's energy... It's astounding! Now, the final sword!
Kattenna: This is the last one!

Fourth choice.
- Give a signal to Aelita. Result: Second [*sweatdrop*]
- Unseal the Daemon Edge.

Kattenna: This is... the last one!
Aelita: [!]
Gabriel[runs in and takes a slash at Lynn with a sword].
Kattenna: Gabriel!
Gabriel: Sorry I'm late!
Nina[runs in as well].
Nina: Tatiana! Hurry! Over here!
Kattenna: Nina!?
Nina[snatches Tatiana and they run away].
Lynn: Argh!
Kattenna: Please take care of them, Gabriel!
          Go with them, Orin!
Gabriel: Sure, no problem!
Gabriel[grabs Orin and they flee as well].
Lynn: You've rescued your friends... but now that the seals have been
broken, I don't need them anymore!
Now, Kattenna... Return the last Daemon Edge to Goura!
Kattenna: No! I can't do that, Lynn!
Lynn: I told you, I'm strong... If I have to take it from you by force, I
will. Goura's power is with me! I won't lose!
Kattenna: Lynn, please... Don't make me do this!
???: Give your power... to me!
Lynn: [...]
Kattenna: Lynn!
Lynn: No... I'm still held by my Bond to Master Guren... I can't stop it!

Name: Lynn
HP: 3500
DUR: 300
Strategy: *sweatdrop* What weapon is that, anyway? She takes giant swings
with it and if she catches you, she'll repeat, doing quite a bit of damage
total. If she Guards, you do 1/10 of your normal amount of damage. She'll
Chain Spark and Heal Spell. She can also use her Special Ability, which costs
her 10 DUR, to quickly and repeatedly stab at you, much like Killer Lance
from SN1. Whatever you do, DON'T jump over her unless you can jump REALLY
far. If you don't want to take my advice, then try it and see what happens. For
people with low speed, just stick close to her and Guard every time and make
sure your timing is right, or you'll block for about 40 damage or more than 110
for every critical. Break her spear, I guess, for a Witchstone.

-- Goura Labyrinth Chamber of Seals > [1] --

After the fight, Lynn remarks on how kind you were, but she still needs the
Daemon Edge! She takes it from you and sacrifices it to Goura. The formless
lump in the air takes form!

Strategy: You do 1 damage per hit. He'll rush and if you have good AGL, you
can avoid it like this: When he paws the ground, it means he's going to rush.
Run away and when he comes at you, jump straight up and he'll miss. He can
also use 2 swords to stab you if you're too close, as well as jump and pounce
on you. After you get his heal down to about 12785, the battle ends. Oh, and by
the way, you WILL get creamed and squashed against the wall like a wad of gum
on the sidewalk on a warm summer's day if you don't have enough AGL to jump
over or run through him. You'll get cornered, so be prepared to Guard and heal
when necessary.

-- Goura Labyrinth Chamber of Seals > [1] --

You remark on how you can't hurt Goura. (Well, technically, you can, it'll
just take a while to get 12800 hits in.) Gabriel runs in and he and Xeride get
you all out of there.

-- Cliff Village > Goura's Gate --

You get the Gem of Light from Aelita. I won't spoil anything else, not that
there is much to spoil here.

-- Cliff Village > Your House --

Use your Gem of Light to create a weapon of your choice and make it a good
one. Upgrade if you wish (and you should wish). Now, go back upstairs and
find Bruno. He's back to normal-talk now.

OMG! There's hardly anyone left in the village!

Go to Goura's Entrance again and talk to Xeride, who will Teleport you to
Goura's Dungeon.

-- Goura Labyrinth B5 > [2] --

Be ready. Equip the weapon you just forged, since you'll need it. You should
be around Lv. 50 (I'm at 52) but I assume most of you will be around 45.
Don't worry if you're low-leveled.

Name: Guren Goura
HP: 12800

Strategy: If you're good and have high AGL, you shouldn't get hit. He has the
same attacks as before. On the other hand, if your AGL still isn't high enough
to get past him, then ... yeah. Be prepared to take a lot of damage, especially
if you're cornered and/or don't know how to Guard. When he charges at you,
don't even try guarding if you're cornered - it nulls guard. Instead, try to
run past him and keep trying. You'll take about 450 damage either way, but at
least you get on his other side, where you have more field behind you. For this
first battle, try to end it with a high HP count, since that's what you're
starting with next, so you don't waste a few rounds magic on healing at the
very start of the next fight. Anyway, good luck, and don't mess up.

-- Goura Labyrinth Chamber of Seals > [1] --

Ooh, you get a surprise. No spoiler this time. Anyway...

Remember this background music all the way from the very beginning? Well, if
you don't then... you either have a bad memory or you're using cheats. Or both.
Er, ... Second form of Guren Goura coming up. By the weay, the Golden Mono
Shift looks really cool~

DUR:
Strategy: Win. Figure it out on your own for a change. It isn't hard. If you
get hit even once during this, I'll seriously LMAOA. If you've been pumping
your AGL for every bonus (like me) (I never get tired of saying that), then
your attacks are going to do somewhere around 270 damage per hit. If you've
been pumping everything into ATK, then ... I don't know. You're a sore loser
with no skills, completely f***ing tactless, can't jump very high, and last
but not least, deserve to be like a scrambled egg lying on the sidewalk on
a warm summer's day. If you don't get hit, you get a total of about 30000 EXP!
Anyway, if you really did pump everything into ATK, then you can do as much as
3200+ per critical hit~

-- Goura Labyrinth Chamber of Seals > [1] --

Enjoy your ending. By the way - uh, on second thought, never mind. This time,
I seriously won't spoil anything either. Enjoy the victory background music.

== Epilogue / Aftermath ==
==========================

-- Cliff Village > Your House --

Save when the game asks you to and you'll restart in your, uh, room I guess.
Like in Summon Night 1, you can hit [Select] and have 3 different
conversations with your Guardian Beast. I believe there are no more side-
quests available now, so just follow this guide whenever you want. If you have
any of the following:

- The status of Legend as Craftknight status
- A completed weapons list (forged all weapons)
- A completed bestiary (seen all monsters)

Then go to Fire Fortress.

-- Fire Fortress --

Talk to the salesman on the left this time and depending on what you have done,
you can access bonus stuff in the Bonus section of the main menu.

-- Cliff Village --

RampageRabbit time.

-- Cliff Village > 4h > Rampage Rabbit --

Name: Rampage Rabbit
HP: 11000
DUR:
Strategy: Spear and speed. If not, prepare to Guard a lot or you'll take a
beating. Speaking of guard, this little guy now GUARDS too! Other than that new
ability, you have the usual biting, bouncing, etc. He will also pursue you to
no end with his new-found running skills. Beat him for a Carrot Badge. This
also opens up Extras on the main menu.

Whatever you do, DON'T fight him again for now. If you do, you'll be up
against this:

-- Cliff Village > 4h > Rampage Rabbit --

Name: Rampage Rabbit (Golden Shift)

Strategy: Waaah!~

-- Cliff Village --

Anyway, go to the cat house (lower left, 1h) and talk to the woman there for
a Cat Paw Figurine to make a weapon with. Also, talk to the boy near the Cat
House for a Mechanical Box. You can talk to the girl if you want too. ("Hey,
that kid finally stopped losing his belongings! Do you want to know how? I took
away everything he owns!")

1 --> To Teleporter and B5
1 --> To B7 (2 Entrances)

After the ending, remember that tile that turned red in Goura's Chamber? Get
there (Goura Labyrinth Chamber of Seals > [1]) (it's where you faced Goura)
and step into the center of the large circle and hit [A]. You'll get here.

Teleport pad on your right, so I suggest you activate it. New background
music, by the way. I like it.

Go up and take the right path diagonally up (run diagonally up as you slide
on the ice) to get to a corner of the place with 2 boxes and a chest. Go back
down. Do the same for the left side. Now go back down and from the bottom
right corner of the ice (you're still on the left side) go diagonally up and
you'll hopefully hit the red chunk in the middle, which changes your direc-
tion and moves you up to the other path. You get 2 boxes and a door down,
but go back to the right side and do the same. Go down either door.

-- Goura Labyrinth B7 --

1 --> To B6 (2 Entrances)
1 --> To B8

New monsters:
- Sparquid, HP: 1700, Appearance: Remember the Squibolts? This version lowers
its head and zaps you more quickly.
- Chrono Knight, HP: 1800, Appearance: Clock Knight, but slightly better.
- Greezly, HP: 1950, Appearance: What do you think? Annoying charge-claw
   attack. Best if avoided.
- Kijo Spider, HP: 5000, Appearance: Giant spider, not perma-stun-able this
time. Oh, and don't hit its hind, uh, part, since you do about 1/10 the
damage you would do from the front.
- Onigumo, HP: 4800, Appearance: purplish thing with 4 arms. Perma-stun OK

Returning onsters:
- Bolt Striker, HP: 950, Similar to the Striker.
- Dark Dragon, HP: 3500, A few new attacks. Nothing special.
- Charger, HP: 3800, Once again, a few new attacks. That's all.

You'll come to a boulder-pushing puzzle again. You can go up and get a couple
of boxes as well as go to the other stairway down from B6. I'm doing this
from the perspective of the right boulder, so... yeah. If you want to follow
this, then head to the right side.

Push the boulder nearest the right entrance (the one that's right in the
middle of the path) left 2 hits. HITS - not UNITS this time. I assume hits
are equidistant for any kind of knuckles you might have with you. I have
Amateur Knuckles because I hate using them.

Now, go up and hit the boulder in the middle of the floor (the other one)
left 2 hits. Go back to the boulder at the bottom right and hit it up 16
hits. Go around it to the left and hit it right 2 hits. (You'll notice that
we moved the other boulder from earlier out of the way.) Now hit the boulder
you're working on up 9 hits. Go to its right side and hit it left 4 hits.
Now hit it up to one of the panels (preferrably the right one). Now go to
the left side, but before you do, move the boulder in the middle to the right
4 hits so that it's resting in a corner.

Go move the left boulder up 16 hits. Then move it right 6 hits. Go around
underneath it and move it up 15 hits. Go to its right and hit it twice left.
Everything else should be pretty obvious. Go to the next floor.

Slide diagonally up right so that you come to a small patch of dirt. Slide
up-left in the same way. You'll see 2 barrels on your left. Slide diagonally
again down-left to get those and a chest. Go back to the upper left patch of
dirt again and slide up-right. From that patch of dirt, slide left to get a
chest and a Rare Medal. Go back to that patch again and slide down-right and
follow the path.

Before anything, go as far left as you can for a few boxes/barrels. Take the
right path up to get a few boxes. Go left and when you come to an intersec-
tion, go down for 2 barrels, then back up and up-left for 3 boxes. Take the
left path up for a chest in [2], then go back down again. Take the path right
next to it up again into [2]. At that next T intersection, go left and get 3
barrels and continue following that path down and down into [1]. Keep going
until you get to a dead end with a chest. Go back up to that intersection and
go right and up- right for a few boxes and a Rare Medal. Now go back down - all
the way down - straight down - getting 3 boxes/barrels while on the way down -
into [1]. Get a few boxes/barrels, then go back up to [2] by taking the path on
the right (just follow the path). In [2], go right and down, getting 4 boxes/
barrels. Go all the way down in [1] for a Grinding Stone. Now go back up -
all the way up to the top right corner of [2] and just go left and smash
boxes. There's a heal spot up there too. Move into B10.

Name: Death Reaper
HP: 22000
DUR:
Strategy: Do what you did with Death earlier and you should be fine. Death
Reaper will charge with his scythe, open up a portal like before to do
continuous damage (and if you get caught without Guard, you'll take about 500
damage total). Finally, he shoots his wisp at you, but this should be easily
avoided by hopping or guarding. If you have low speed, stay near him (axe's or
sword's distance away) and keep attacking. He'll usually just scythe-charge at
you and you can see this coming and usually guard it perfectly. He'll end up on
your other side at the end of this, so just turn around and you can hit him
again - but wait - at least one of your hits will also count as from behind for
more damage! Reward: Onyx Lifestone.

-- Goura Labyrinth B11 --

Get the 2 chests, one for a Grinding Stone and another for a Startup Switch.
We'll be using that. For now, leave Goura Labyrinth. (Personally, I thought
having Goura Labryinth end this early with this boss isn't all that great
of a dungeon, but whatev.) Leave by using Escape or by taking the long way.

Returning enemies:
- Interceptor, HP: 1900, Just a new external color, I think.
- Jumper, HP: 980

Note: most enemy encounters will be in groups of 3-4. To avoid getting hit,
especially by groups of 4 Catapulters, isolate one of them, and mash. If you
leave one with low HP, it'll occasionally try to run, with the result of you
not getting as much EXP as you would if you KO-ed it. While mashing, watch
out for other enemies coming in and attacking you from long-range. Stop mash-
ing and jump to avoid this. You'll need this advice for this and the next few
locations.

Remember this BGM? Go down, since that's the only thing you can do, and move
right across the teleport path, (sorry, No Turns at the intersection) and go
right and at the end, move up and left, getting 6 boxes, and move down on the
conveyer belt again (once again, No Turns at the intersection) and into [2].

Follow the
path across 3 more intersections and to the right wall, where there is another
line of boxes.

You enter a middle platform at the X and continue left and follow the path
(pass a belt going down) for a chest with a BlackDragon Fang. Now go on that
conveyer belt moving down. You'll be able to move down here, but don't. Go
right for a chest and a Rare Medal. Take the small belt up to point R and
go left again and down the path you took not more than a few seconds ago. Now
move down.

You're now in [3]. Follow the path and heal at the Heal Spot, move down
for quite a few boxes. Continue taking the lower right path into [4].

Here, go right for a few boxes, then take the only path you can - up on the
conveyer. Hit the switch and go back down and take the right conveyer belt.
Move right twice and get a Rare Medal and use your spear to get the chest with
a Grinding Stone. Go back into [3] and take the path up and right into [4]
again.

Go up and right. Smack the switch and go back and right across the inter-
section. Follow the path, going up, down, and up again and keep going until
you (finally) enter a new screen - [5]. Get everything that's there and go
down the stairs to B8.

only thing you can do. As you're moving, switch to a spear and smash the
boxes on your right (face right and hit [A]). At the bottom, go left and
up the conveyer and then go right. Follow the path. Go right.

In [2], follow the path (after the first belt going down, don't forget to get
the chest with an Onyx Lifestone and there's another one later with Seafood
Soup.) You should have < 0 problem going into [3].

Just move up. Be ready.

lot of damage. Defeat him for a Mechanical Box.

In Area 15, walk up to the biggest waterfall and hit [A] on it to open up a

I changed the numbering for this part of SB to correspond with the Area.)

New enemies:
- Octapot, HP: 1050, Appearance: Resembles the little things from before. I
hate these things! They raise their caps and squirt water long distance.
- Ikarocky, HP: 1050, Appearance: Floating squid things. I have no idea why
they gave it this weird name.
- Mermarion, HP: 2300, Appearance: Pink re-make of some monster whose name I

- Giant Serpent, HP: 4500, Appearance: Giant- and Serpent-like. Beware the
   flailing fins.
- Elehyde, HP: 4200, Appearance: Close to AquaElement.
- Frogmarine, HP: 2800, Appearance: Giant red frog.
- Filleon, HP: 4800, Appearance: Giant Serpent but more Giant and Serpent.

Returning enemies:
- Aquanare, HP: 1100, Now they spin and dive at you too.

Follow the path. The way should be pretty obvious. Once you get to 6 barrels,
go and break them and continue up into [17].

First hit the pink switch and go left for a few chests. Go back to the start.
Hit the green switch and follow the path for some grass on your left. Once
you get to the middle of the screen, hit the blue switch and follow that path
to the bottom right and into [18].

Once in [18], hit the blue switch and follow the path. Get a chest and heal
before going back to [17]. Go up and hit the blue switch again to get your-
self back to the middle set of switches and take the pink one. Follow that
path to the right and down into [18] again. On your way, get a Rare Medal as
well as a few barrels.

Keep following the pink path in [18] When you get to another island with a
green/pink/blue set of switches, hit the green one and follow the path left,
up, and right into [19].

Here in [19], hit the pink switch and follow the path. Once you come to a set
of switches, hit the green one and follow the path left and up and right and
up again into [20]. Notice that right before you go up into [20], if you go
down, you see a blue switch and the same set of switches we were at earlier.
Whatev.

[20]. Hit the green switch. Go right and follow the path to a chest and a
Rare Medal. Go back down and take the left path to a blue switch. Hit that
and go right and follow the path until you get to a pink switch. Hit that
and go all the way around. Be ready.

-- Subterranean Bay > [20] > Boss --

Name: Lobsta Supreme
HP: 42000
DUR:
Strategy: If even your criticals do 1 damage per hit, then, obviously, there
is a slight problem. :) Magic doesn't seem to work very well either, since
it's either weak to begin with or this boss is resistant to that element.
Once again, spears work well here, since the lobster's heads shoot out a good
distance away. If the head closest to you goes back slightly, then it'll lash
out with that head. If it raises on to its hind legs, that's your cue to hop
over it and mash [A] from behind for a few hits while it shoots its bubbles.
These things do about 60 damage per hit, which isn't that bad. If it bites
you, however, you'll take about 450 for each normal bite or about 225 for
each hit when it sends both heads at you (so you end up taking about the same
damage). The real problem with this fight is that you'll run out of Healing
magic. Tactic: Stay BEHIND it and when it turns around, hop over it. Remember
that all you need to do to damage it is hit its tail, so stay as far away as
possible. Don't be hasty and try to finish this boss fight too quickly and
don't play when you're not supposed to be playing. This WILL take a while to
finish. If you don't have DUR Regen, you might also have problems with DUR.
If your weapon(s) don't have 255 TEC after that fight, you're either
cheating, lame, stupid, or all of the above. Beat this boss for a Cat Paw
Figurine.

-- Subterranean Bay --

Go up to get the Snowmelt Powder from the chest. What? No other prize? Nope,
I guess not. Leave the place via Escape since your weapons will probably be
reduced to nothing at the moment.

-- Cliff Village --

Do what you need to do and this time, head for Glacier Gorge.

As always, get to the end of Glacier Gorge. Remember that giant ice sculpture
thing you fought Passeau's Summon Creature in front of? Looks like a giant
snowflake? Well, go up to the cracked icicles/stalagmites in [14] (Once
again, I've changed the numbering for this part) and you'll open a passage-
way.

New monsters:
- Sneivel, HP: 1130, Appearance: Remember the Brownies?
- Elegale, HP: 5300, Appearance: Re-make of Elewind, but even faster than
   Elewind and cheaper.
- Boulderhide, HP: 5200, Appearance: Giant blue rock. Beat the crap out of
   them with magic.
- Grudge Fish, HP: 6600, Appearance: Gray and Grudgy and Fish-like rolled
   into 1.
- Metal Crab, HP: 7000, Appearance: Heavy Metal +. By the way, nice bonus.

Returning monsters:
- Death Head, HP: 1100, Giant bites~
- Arch Demon, HP: 3800,

[15]. Smack the teleporter as always. There's a giant blob of ice up ahead,
but it's not that difficult to get through. If you go along the bottom of the
ice patch, you'll notice a little bit of an indent.

* * * * * * * *
* *  /----\ * *
----/ \----

Stand in the middle of it and slide straight up into [16]. Get everything
there and go back down. Now, from that same spot, slide up-right and you
should make it to another path. Go up from there to [16] again and follow the
path to [17].

In [17], there's another one of these:

| * * * * *
|----\ * *
| \----

Start at the left. (The | is the left "wall") and go straight up to a patch
of snow. Slide right to get to another one, then diagonally down-right to a
third. From that, slide diagonally up-right and you'll see 4 barrels. Don't
worry. We'll get those. From there, slide directly down and you'll be at the
entrance to [18]. To get those barrels, slide directly up and hit them. Don't
worry if you don't get to them on your first try as long as you slide straight
back down again to the entrance path to [18] and try again. When you're done,
move on to [18].

Slide down the left (just about anywhere that counts as left works) to get a
Rare Medal and a Heal Spot. Slide back up and go right for 3 boxes/barrels
and from the right wall, walk 2.5 steps left (watch your feet) and slide down
and move into [19].

Giant ice patch again. From the top wall, move down 3 steps and slide right
to reach a chest (I think this is the only way you can get it) for a ...
Grinding Stone. *sigh* Oh well. Go back to the start and walk 1.5 to 2 steps
down and slide right. Hit the right wall and slide down to a corner. Now,
using your luck for the day, hit up-left at the same time and you'll hope-
fully make it to the path.

Here in [20], there are a few things on the right for you to gather. Now,
humongous ice patch here.

* * * * * * * * * * *
* * * */-----\* * * *
*  /--/       \ * * *
--/ \----- (Not drawn to scale)

This is the very first little indent you see from the right. Slide diagonally
up-left to reach 3 chests. Go back down and from that same spot, slide up-
right this time to reach another area with a tree and a Rare Medal.

Now, go back down and from the left indent, slide up-right.

|* * * * *
|-----\* *
| \--

[21]. Cut the obstacles in your way and take that path to some trees, boxes/
barrels, and the like. Take the path down from there and go back up. It's
like a little loop, so you don't miss anything. After getting a few more
boxes/barrels and 2 fruit trees, go to the bottom right and move down into
[22].

In [22], if you look carefully to your right from the top of the ice, you can
see the very edge of a snow spot. If you can't, doesn't matter. Just slide to
the right from the top and you should get to a little snow-island-thing with
6 patches of grass. From the top right corner, slide right to get to a chest
with a Cat Paw Figurine! Woohoo! From there, slide directly down to another
snow patch and DON'T MOVE another pixel from where you stop. Hit up-right at
the same time to get to the top right. It looks like you're stuck if you try
to move ahead, so hit left and then hold up and you should be able to move on
to that path. (Or you can do whatever you find works.)

-- Glacier Gorge > [23] > Boss --

Name: Ice Doll
HP: 52000
DUR:
Strategy: He'll breathe an ice vapor cloud like before and icicles will rain
on you. If you're too close, he'll clap his hands together twice for about
280 damage per hit. Of course, there's the floating in the air thing, then he
drops on you. If you happen to get hit because you were too close, you suffer
more than 1000 damage, so, yeah. You're basically screwed. Don't get hit by
that. I suggest you equip a spear or several and go to the ends of the field
and wait for him to come to you. If you have DUR Regen on a spear, you should
feel happy about that, since this gives you the chance to Regen some as well
as damage and avoid getting hit. When you feel cornered, just hop over him
and run to the other end. This will take a while to end, especially if you've
pumped everything into AGL. :) I only do 32 damage per hit from behind, 26
from the front, so... yeah. That'll take about 2000 hits. Your second stra-
tegy (do I even have a first one?) is to have a DUR Regen spear and good AGL.
Then, just run through him, get 1-3 hits, then before he can attack you, run
through him again and hit him from behind. Repeat and hope that you don't get
hit by his clapping attack. If you need to Regen, just go to the end of the
fields like I mentioned above and wait for him to come to you. If you beat
this boss, Angel Ice Statue is your reward.

-- Glacier Gorge --

Pick up a few things and leave and heal. If you had trouble with this boss,
then... what can I say? Level yourself up a bit.

Make it to the end of Oni Hot Springs, which is [16]. Hold the Unlock Talis-
man up to the weird thing at the end wall and move on.

New enemies:
- Ghost Fox, HP: 1290, Appearance: Re-make of the Oni Fox.
- Kero Oyabun, HP: 2500, Appearance: Re-make of the Kero Ninja. Faster and
   more annoying than ever.
- Gothboy, HP: 1350, Appearance: I still think it's more straw than Goth.
   *sweatdrop* Still, should be easy.
- Omen Fish, HP: 9900, Appearance: I don't want to talk about it. Nice bonus,
   though.
- Eleflare, HP: 8000, Appearance: Pretty obvious. Also nice bonus.
- Death Manty, HP: 4500, Appearance: Manty-like. Shoots a beam from his
mouth. Eew... bad breath. Perma-stun him with a spear. Get to close and it
   bites.

Returning enemies:
- Flying Lizard, HP: 1300, Puny dragons
- Flame Mage, HP: 2800
- Giant Monk, HP: 4100, More improved. Bring his hands down to damage and
make you flinch, or send a fireshot with that pound. Impressive. But still
takes a while to make each move.

Well, well, if it isn't our old "friend" Toumei. It's a small body of water
here in the center. Take the right way around to get 3 tufts of grass and
move up to [18].

Misty~ Go up the stairs and to 2 fruit trees. Move right past the waterfall
and you'll see 4 bits of grass blocking stairs down. Cut those and go down.
The geyser's there, along with a Rare Medal. Go back up and go back left to
the waterfall. There's a chest there at the bottom.

There are 2 waterfalls here. Take either one down for 2 chests and continue
going down.

[19]. Follow the path. There's a heal spot in this area too.

It's foggy again in [20]. Take the left path up some stairs (between the 2
waterfalls) and move right at the top, passing a large and a small waterfall,
and keep going right until you can't. Then go down to get the geyser. 2
chests will appear so go get those, then go up-right into [21].

Follow the path in [21] and [22]. In [23], it's misty again. Go up, cut some
grass, and take the left path up until you reach another large body of water.
Then go right and you should see the geyser. Take the right path into [24].

Ugh, more steam here in [24]. Cut some grass at the top and go up and go
right and get the Rare Medal. If you've been following this guide thoroughly,
you only need 1 more. ;) Go back to the entrance area and continue right.
The geyser's there. Go back up to where the Rare Medal was, but this time,
go to the top-left for 2 chests, one which has an Angel Ice Statue! Woohoo!
Now leave [24] back into [23]. Just go left and you should be able to exit
this area left into [25]. Be ready.

-- Oni Hot Springs > [25] > Boss --

Name: Monkey Extreme
HP: 62000
DUR:
Strategy: Like before, he sends wisps at you like leaves falling. (Unblock-
able) He'll also take off his necklace thing and throw it at you long range.
If you're too close and facing the wrong way, he'll claw you for quite a bit
of damage. Swords work well here, in the sense that if you're fast enough,
you can run around him to both avoid the falling spirit attack and get 6 hits
on him from behind. When countering his other 2 attacks, just run behind him,
but only hit in 1-3 times or he'll counter that by clawing/bashing you. This
boss, I think, is actually somewhat easier than Ice Doll. Once again, if you
do low damage, then expect to run out of DUR unless you have DUR Regen. Next
strategy: Spear-users (or actually, any weapon is okay, I think) stay away
from him. Have him stand in the middle of the field and you at one end. He'll
usually use the falling spirits attack. When you see him put his fingers to
his face, run behind him and stab him a few times with a spear (4-5 hits,
though you'll probably hit 4 times.) When he's done with the attack, move to
that end of the field and repeat. You may need to improvise on this strategy
a bit occasionally, since he will learn from what you do and not always use
that attack. (Note that waiting at the ends of the field is a good opportuni-
ty for DUR Regen to kick in as well.) By the way, NEVER spin spear against
him (or any other boss, for that matter) if you think you'll run out of DUR.
Beat him for a Bushido Scroll. Behind him was that last Rare Medal and 2
chests with another Bushido Scroll and a Fire Bracelet.

-- Cliff Village --

That's pretty much it for the extras. But wait - there's one more thing.
Rampage Rabbit time. Head back to upgrade your weapons and use your best
Weapon Materials. Get 255 TEC on them, etc. Doing this will help - not just
against Rampage Rabbit, but later. You'll see (or you can look ahead now).

-- Cliff Village > 4h > Rampage Rabbit --

Name: Rampage Rabbit (Golden Shift!)
HP: 64000
DUR:
Strategy: Be at level 75+. Rampage Rabbit has (no kidding) 64000 HP(!!) and
now runs. He'll do the usual bounce-thingy as well as the tumble toward you
for damage. And he's FAST, so practice those reflexes. If you're using a
drill, knuckles, or a slow axe or sword, be prepared to take some damage,
especially due to the fact that (I think) all of Rampage Rabbit's attacks
null any attempt to block. Oh, but he's allowed to Guard, of course. He'll
typically do around 500 damage per hit from the front and if he gets a criti-
cal, ... *snickers* If you get hit by the carrot, expect to take more than
1000 damage - a sure sign that after all this time (especially if you've been
cheating) - you suck. Bring its HP down it'll heal - this time, by 2700 HP
per carrot. Oh, and one last thing - if you're slow, do NOT jump. Rampage
Rabbit will follow you into the air and try to bite you for a hell lot of
damage if you're caught in the air. Also watch your DUR count and if you know
you can't beat him with the DUR you have left, then... yeah. You're dead.
Always remember: if even your critical hits do 1 damage, that could be a
problem. Tactics: With good AGL, run to one end of the field and wait for it
to come to you (usually it runs, though it may walk or tumble). When it gets
within attack range/spear range, hit it once, then jump over him (good AGL
only!) and run to the other side and repeat. You can also try to smack him
once while he's bouncing (and you know where he's hopping to next) and hope
for the best, but you tend to get hit more often this way. Whatever you do,
DON'T run at it and attack because this usually ends up with him tumbling at
you or smacking you with the carrot before you can attack him and you taking
about 600+ damage without doing anything productive. No matter what kind of
weapon you have, WAIT for him to come to you unless you know what you are
doing. Finally, for sword-users, I'll give you one way to almost guarantee
not getting hit. If you have 180+ AGL, keep jumping and try to hit the rabbit
by pressing [A] while you jump (hold the {up} key). Never do your 3-hit combo
while you're on the ground or you'll get pounded by the carrot. Just time
your hits right and you should be able to keep hitting Rampage Rabbit without
it hitting you. (Hit and jump away, but make sure you're still facing the
rabbit.) Occasionally, it'll follow your shadow beneath you while you're
jumping away. This could be good or bad, as you can hit it again if you time
it right. However, if you mess up, you could take quite a bit of damage in
return. Up to you to try (and maybe improvise on) this strategy. Win for a
set of Rabbit Boots (AGL +30).

-- Cliff Village --

That's it for the extras, so feel proud of yourself for beating Rampage
Rabbit at his Golden Shift. That's all I'm walking you through for SN2. I
mean, come on! What else is there to go through? If you really like this game
then I suggest you read on. If you didn't, then you're either a pompous prick
or a sore loser.

11============================================
== Restart Summon Night: Swordcraft Story 2 ==
==============================================

I know this section seems a little weird. I mean, you just hit New Game,
right? Well, yeah, but before you do, here's something you should know:

Since you're restarting, you probably figure (as did I when I was going
through this) that you lose everything when you start over. Well, that's not
the case. You get to "carry some things over" to your new game.

= Craftknight Rank
-- For early upgrading.

= Techniques list
-- No surprise.

= Bestiary
-- Doesn't really matter, since you'll probably be seeing all the enemies
    again anyway.

= Money
-- Don't really need it.

= Fishing points
-- I hate fishing, but ... you have to fish to continue the game.

= Chest Weapons (w00t~)

About that last one - "Chest Weapons". What's that supposed to mean? Remember
those guys at Fire Fortress and the 5 chests? You can store your created
weapons there and once you get to Fire Fortress again, you can pick up those
weapons and use at your disposal. Sweet~ So before you restart, make sure you
store some of your best weapons there. Unfortunately, you can't store a Noble
Thruster (or whatever weapon you created to defeat Goura). Darn. You can store
anything else, though, so consider storing a weapon with Arm Breaker or
Shatter Strike. Up to you.

Also, by restarting a new game, you can get a Trainee Bracer. Thanks to
Alejandro Rodriguez-Matos for the tip.

Note that you don't keep anything else. This includes (but is not limited to)
the following:

= Weapon Materials
= Other Items
= Accessory (Equipped)

14=============
== Upgrading ==
===============

Uh.... Yeah. I don't think I'll have this section, just because I think some-
one else has already covered everything you need to know about upgrading. I've
also provided everything the salesperson tells you about it at Fire Fortress
in the walkthrough, so if you're really interested, search for "-- Fire
Fortress" (notice the "--" before it).

15=================================
== Continuous (Major) Sidequests ==
===================================

NOTE: Low Priority. I don't know whether this counts as "Sidequests" or not,
since they're kinda by-the-way. A lot of this is incomplete, but if you can
help contribute to this section, that would be appreciated.

1. Cat House
The lower left house on 1h is home to a cat that likes to wander around the
village. Talk to the old woman every day and she'll say her cat's missing.
Find it and bring it back for a reward.

2. Get Rare Medals, which can be found lying on the ground. They're the gold
things that are sparkling slightly. Go to 1h and on the bottom right, there
will be a blue-haired boy beneath a staircase. Go to him and give him up to
35 medals for stuff.

After 5 medals, you get a Beast Crest.
After 10 medals, you get a Beast King Crest.
After 15 medals, you get a Wyvern Claw.
After 20 medals, you get a Kishin Horn.
After 25 medals, you get a Thunder Bracelet.
After 30 medals, you get a Magic Ring. (All stats -15, but raise Magic)
After all medals, you get an Angel Ice Statue. (Yeah, isn't that sad?)

3. On 1h, in the house on the very left, talk to the old man in the back left
room after you've smashed every single obstacle in an area at least once. He
will give you some stuff. (This is also the Cat House)

Entry Woods - Charged Ore
Forest Outskirts - Leafwyrm Thorn
Roaring Cavern - Beast Crest
Lost Woods - Gale Ore
Forgotten Woods - Boost Motor
Vanishing Forest - Lion's Crest

4. Little boy's missing items

There will be a boy (usually hanging out with a girl) that says he's missing
something. The girl tells him to look where he was last. Of course, this means
that you have to remember where he was on the previous day (or just follow
the walkthrough). Mash [A] around the general area and you'll find something.
I think you have to follow this sidequest in order (no skipping days) or may-
be I didn't talk to him and found something out of pure luck. (Well, I got a
[?] expression when I hit [A] and no [!]. Whatever.)

5. Delivery and Trade

Just follow the walkthrough and you'll get all of them. I'm too lazy to list
everything here.
