=====
The 2 Teams*
=====

If you have played any Pokmon game before, you will be familiar with the idea
of some bad guys, who make up a "team". Ruby and Sapphire players will be
familiar with Team Magma and Team Aqua. What is different, however, is that for
the first time, both teams are your enemies. As well as hating each other, now
both Maxie and Archie are after you. However, this turns out to be a good thing
when you end their rivalry because of a common need, peace. I won't spoil any
more of the game, but remember, you have no allies.

===============================================================================
==========================Walkthrough*=========================================
===============================================================================

In this walkthrough I will generally use the words north, south, east and west.
North is up, south is down, east is right, and west is left.
         N/up
          |
          |
W/left----+----E/right
          |
          |
        S/down
Look carfully at the compass, and don't email me asking which way is west.
I know it's sad, but some people do that.

Througout the walkthrough you will see stop signs:
    _____
   /     \
  | STOP! |
   \_____/

These signs are there for YOUR safety. If you don't obey them, there is a
higher chance you will get whited out. This costs you time, money, and patience
Please follow the instructions located under the stop signs.

======
Welcome to Hoenn! - Littleroot Town*
======

Welcome to the Walkthrough. We start this game in your new home, Littleroot
Town. First thing to do before you leave your house is set the clock in your
room. So go up the starirs and do so. After that, Mum talks to you, and you
can look at your PC Currently their is one item stored in the item storage
system, so withdraw it. Then go downstairs.

One of Dad's friends lives in town! Better go say hi. Professor Birch's lab
is the big building south of your house. It's easy to see the professor isn't
in. So let's go find him. Go into the house across the path from yours to meet
another Mum. You will also meet your rival. Because I am a boy, mine is named
May. If you're a girl, he's called Brendan. After meeting May, head north to
find the professor. In his bag are three Poke-balls. Grab one that looks cool,
in my opinion they're all the same. A battle! Basically, you can fight or run.
If you fight, choose a move to weaken the opponent until he faints. If he
faints, you win! The prof gives you your Pokmon, and you are told to meet May
(or your rival)on route 103. To do this, head north to where you met the prof,
then continue until you reach Oldale Town.

Rest at the red Pokmon centre. Talk to the nurse to heel your Pokmon, then
go out and talk to a woman wearing an apron for a free potion. Nothing left to
do in town, so head north to find May. This is your first trainer battle. You
can't run in trainer battles, so it's like a fight to the death, destroy all his
Pokmon before he destroys yours. Don't worry about this battle, you will win.
Just keep using your attacking move, whether it is scratch or tackle. If you
win, you should go up a level with the experience you gained from battling.
This strengthens your Pokmon, giving them a better chance of winning. Now go
back to the lab and talk to Prof. Birch.

You got a Pokedex and Pokeballs!!!! Now you can catch Pokmon and record data
on them. Time for your real adventure to start. Strap on the running shoes mum
gives you, and run back to Oldale Town.

=====
A Family Affair - Petalburg City*
=====

This time in Oldale town, you can leave through the west exit which was blocked
before. This is the way we want to go to get to any other town. I won't
describe each battle from now on, only important ones. I try to avoid trainers,
but sometimes you will have to battle, so try not to lose. If you want to cure
during battle, instead of choosing fight, choose bag etc.. Now you're ready to
catch a Pokmon.

The first wild Pokmon you see, attack it once or twice so its health is in the
orange/red zone. Now choose bag and throw a pokeball. It may take a few
attempts to actually catch the Pokmon, but stick to it and you'll soon catch
something.

Cure your Pokmon, then put it on top of your battle list by choosing Pokmon on
the start menu, and switch on the Pokmon's menu. This will make your Pokmon
get battle experience, and you can switch it out of battle before it gets hurt.

Walk along the track and pick the berries at the top. Berries are like potions
etc., but they can be held by Pokmon and used in battle without missing a turn.
Great! Give an oran berry to each of your Pokmon and then walk west.

Welcome to Petalburg city. This is where your dad lives and works. He is gym
leader here. Go visit him in the big silver building in the north section of
town. You will have to help Wally out while you're there, but that's OK because
he does everything right anyway.

Dad says we should challenge gym leader Roxanne. To beat her, you will need
something of the water/grass type. If you started with Torchic, catch a Lotad,
Wingull, Marill, or Shroomish.

Walk west out of town, ignoring the rude man who says hi, and try and find a
Pokmon stated above, whilst walking towards Rustboro City. This means walking
through Petalburg woods, but don't worry they aren't long (or hard).

When you walk in, turn east and go out through the next exit for a free
pokeball, then press A while standing looking over an empty square surrounded by
grass to find a potion.

Go in the other direction and destroy and trainers who try to stop you.
Basically, keep walking in a similar pattern, sort of a zig zag, between the
ledges.

AHH. Team Aqua. This is pretty easy, and your starting Pokmon should take
him out. Just smash him, get the great ball from the Devon guy, and keep
walking. Turn to the left after battle, and walk as far as you can to see
another empty square. This one contains a pokeball.

Don't worry about the different looking trees opposite the sign, just head north
and out of the forest. Told you it was easy.

Get a bullet seed TM from the lady just outside. A TM is an item which teaches
a move to a Pokmon, but TMs can only be used once. Teach bullet seed to a
grass Pokmon like Lotad or Shroomish. Walk around the shop to find a super
potion in the second empty square from the top, on the right. Then walk in the
shop. Get a Wailmer Pail to water berries from a girl inside the shop, then
leave.

Be sure to battle the rich boy. He's weak, and he gives you a ton of cash when
you win. Walk along the bridge for a 2 on 2 battle. This is the same as usual,
but you use your top 2 Pokmon at once.

Continue up the bridge and enter Rustboro city!

=====
Team Aqua Rocks! - Rustboro City*
=====

The first thing to do in Rustboro is get a HM from cutter's house. To do this,
walk into the house west of the Pokmon centre and talk to the man. Easy as
pie (mmmm...pie). Teach this HM to one of your team, and then leave the house.
A HM is like a TM except you can use it as many times as you want, and it can't
be forgotten by your Pokmon.

Walk into the bulilding south of cutter's, and talk to the girl on the second
floor for a premier ball. This ball is similar to a pokeball, but it looks
special.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    _____
   /     \
  | STOP! |
   \_____/

DO NOT pass this point until you have at least 1 water/grass Pokmon at Level
11 or higher, and at least 2 other Pokmon at Level 11 or higher.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now walk to the gym in the top right corner of town. The first
trainer is easy using your bullet seed TM, while the 2 on 2 is only harder
because it takes longer. Roxanne is the real challenge. She has 2 Level 12
Geodudes, and a Level 15 Nosepass. Bullet Seed works perfectly. After beating
her, you earn your first Pokmon league badge - the Stonebadge. Cool! You also
get a TM which you should keep for when you get a rock Pokmon. Walk outside
for a surprise.

Its that Devon guy again! This time he really needs your help, so head east,
battle the trainers, and go into Rusturf tunnel. Get the free pokeball before
you battle the Team Aqua guy. He is easy, and he returns the goods without any
probs. You are now Mr Briney's friend. That will come in handy later, but for
now, you should return the goods to the guy waiting for you.

Mr Stone, the Devon President, wants you to run two errands for him. Sounds
like fun, and you can fight a gym leader on the way. Walk out of Devon, and
head south out of Rustboro after talking to Mr Stone on the phone. Walk south.
May wants to battle! She has the evolved form of her starter, and one other,
depending on your starter(this sounds complex, but basically, she has a Pokmon
of the SAME type as your starter, and a Pokmon which is super effective against
your starter). She isn't much tougher than Roxanne, so good luck.

May tells us about Mr Briney, the old seaman. Sounds like we should visit him.
If you've checked your Pokenav, you'll know that the 2 places you have to visit
are across the water from here. So leave town the way we came, across the
bridge, and through the forest. Only this time, you can cut down trees to get
through quicker. You may wish to do so. Cut the first tree you see, and talk
to the nearby girl to get a miracle seed. This item powers up grass type moves,
so make a grass Pokmon hold it. Walk a bit further east and pick up a great
ball. Exit the forest by jumping the ledges and going south. Take the east
exit (the one you took to get a pokeball) and jump the ledges. You should now
be near Mr Briney's cottage. Talk to him inside to begin the voyage.

=====
The city of darkness - Dewford Town*
=====

Welcome to Dewford town. The first thing you'll notice here is another gym.
We won't challenge it yet, they're strong in there. Head north, to the cave
just outside town, and talk to the hiker inside. Get the Flash HM from the
hiker and free escape rope from the ground, then head back to town. Talk to the
fisherman outside the gym for an OLD ROD, then go inside for some battling.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    _____
   /     \
  | STOP! |
   \_____/

DO NOT pass this point until you have at least 1 flying Pokmon at Level 17 or
higher, and at least 2 other Pokmon at Level 18 or higher.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

+--Good Advide-----------------------------------------------------------------+
| You can get flying pokemon from all over the place, and they will all be |
| useful here. Just go the grassy areas around Petalburg, Petalburg Woods, |
| or Rustboro, and get yourself a Taillow, for a much easier fight. |
+------------------------------------------------------------------------------+

First thing you'll notice is that the gym is really dark. Every battle you win
brings in more light, so get to it. Just walk around and let the trainers spot
you. Brawly has a Level 16 Machop, a Level 16 Meditite, and a Level 19
Makuhita. Meditite is easy because it can't attack you if you hurt it, Machop
isn't particularly strong, but Makuhita is tough and could take you some time to
beat. Defeating Brawly will earn you the Musclebadge. Congratulations, that's
two badges down. You also get a TM for Bulk Up, a move which raises attack and
defense. I think it sucks, but some people are in to powering up before you
attack. You can now also use flash out of battle, so leave the gym, heal, and
go back to the cave.

Using Flash makes it look like the gym before you beat Brawly, so you can see
most things. The journey through the cave isn't much of a challenge, so I won't
describe it(just walk away from the ladder you came up in). Just walk in the
same direction as the tunnel. You should catch an Aron or Geodude in here.
Also make sure you grab the stacks of items hidden throughout. Often pressing A
near a lone standing bit of rock results in a free item.

Steven gives you the TM for Steel Wing. Most bird Pokmon can learn this move,
and it is rather strong so use it if you please. Jump the ledges to your right
after talking to Steven for a shortcut to the exit, and then go and talk to Mr
Briney, and get on with our errand.

Ask Mr Briney to take you to Petalburg. You must talk to Mr Stone before you
can deliver the Devon Goods. So go to Rustboro City, talk to Mr Stone and he
will give you and EXP share, a great item which shares around EXP gained in
battles. To use, make a low level Pokmon hold it. Now go back to Mr Briney's
cottage, and ask him to take you to Dewford. When you get there, ask him to
take you to Slateport.

=====
Big city, big battles - Slateport City*
=====

Battle your way up the beach in Slaltport. You may want to enter the building,
where defeating all the trainers and talking to the owner will earn you 6 free
soda pops. When you're done, walk north into the city. On your way to the
Pokmon Centre, you will probably notice the long line of men in black-Team
Aqua. You can't enter the building where they are yet, so go to the shipyard
south of where you are. Talk to the man who looks different from the others,
then leave. If Team Aqua haven't moved yet, go into the building north of the
museum and talk to the woman. Return to the museum and they should have moved.
If not, call Mr Stone using the match call on your pokenav, and then repeat the
previous steps(I did all those things before realising they had gone).

Once you're in the museum, talk to the Team Aqua members, and one will give you
a free TM. After that, go up the stairs to find Capt. Stern. A Team Aqua grunt
will attack you after you give the captain his delivery, take out the grunt with
a grass Pokmon. Win, and the other grunt will attack with a zubat and a
carvanha. After defeating both of them, you can give Capt. Stern the Devon
Goods, and then he will leave. You can now leave the museum. On the way out
you will meet Scott, who you will see again in the future. He seems to follow
you around. If you want to meet him again, go to the flashy looking building
near the Pokmon centre. Apart from that Battle Tent, there is only one other
thing to do in Slateport.

Go to the Pokemart and buy a Harbour Mail. Don't ask why, just do it. Now
leave town through the north exit. Walk north a bit, and after registering the
Prof., you will see a house. Go inside-it is the Trick House. You're being
watched. If you were quick, you would have noticed a flash from near the table.
Walk to were you saw it and press A, as if you are talking to it. If you didn't
see it, go out and try again. I won't go into the Trick House in great depth in
the walkthrough, but there is a special section on it.

Leave the Trick House and head east. This path will take us to a battle with
May, so heal if nessecary. May gives you an ITEMFINDER if you win. This item
does less than it says it does, because you still have to find the hidden items.
It simply beeps if there is a hidden item on the screen. Anyways, head north
past May, and move on to the next city.

=====
Wally, Wattson, and the Winstrates - Mauville City*
=====

Walk in the first house you see to get a free coin case IF you bought Harbour
Mail like I told you to(see the game corner section for uses of the coin case).
Then walk east and get the X speed hidden in the bushes. The X items are bad
because they waste a battle turn, and fade away after battle, so avoid unless
you are using a move like rest. They sell well. Same goes for Dire Hit. Walk
into the house directly north of the X speed for a free Rock Smash HM. This is
a weak attack but a useful HM. Then walk north-east to the bike shop for a free
bike. Damn, there's a lot of free stuff in Mauville.

If you walk to the gym, you might recognise Wally, the kid who we helped out
earlier. Talk to him for an easy battle(well it should be easy). Scott
idolizes you, and why shouldn't he?. Now, you can take on the gym now, or do as
Wally suggested and visit his house. I recommend the training visit. So, head
west out of town.

First thing you'll notice is the Day Care house. Putting Pokmon in day care
makes them gain 1 EXP point per step you take. This is less than it sounds like
(to check EXP status, open your Pokmon's summary in the menu), so don't use day
care to often(its bloody expensive too). Keep walking west, battling as much as
you can, until you reach Verdanturf Town.

There isn't much to do here, so I won't make a new chapter. There is a battle
tent(see the battle tent section for more details), but apart from that there is
little to do. The pokemart is special because it sells 2 rare items - the nest
ball and the fluffy tail. The nest ball is great for weakened Pokmon whilst
the fluffy tail is used to escape from powerful wild Pokmon. You may want to
buy some of these, as they cannot be found anywhere else.

If you go to the bottom left house in town, you will meet a woman who rates how
much your Pokmon likes you. My Pokmon loved me! Go into the tunnel in the
north section of town, and turn left as soon as you get in. Walk out of the
tunnel through the other exit to find yourself in a little clearing with a man
who has lost his glasses. There is also a lost HP UP to be found, an item which
raises your max HP. You will need your Itemfinder to find the glasses, which
are actually an item called blackglasses. The glasses are located 5 steps east
from the west wall, so walk 5 steps and press A. Talk to the man after finding
the blackglasses and he will leave. Blackglasses are a hold item that power up
Dark type moves. You can now go back to Verdanturf town, and then back to
Mauville.

East of town, there is a beach with a few trainers. North of town, there is
more. Battle the two trainers on the way north(for EXP), then, if you are ready
go inside the Winstrate house. This house belongs to a family of trainers, who
get progressively harder as you go through them. After beating all four, you
can go in and get a Macho Brace from the mum. See the EV guide for more info.

Once you've trained as much as possible, enter Mauville Gym!

  | STOP! |
   \_____/

DO NOT pass this point until you have 4 Pokmon all at Level 22 or higher, and,
if possible, a ground type Pokmon of a similar Level.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

+--Good Advide-----------------------------------------------------------------+
| Thanks to The Mondo Gamer for this strategy. To help you in this gym, go to |
| Dewford Cave, and catch a Geodude. Level it up to Level 25. By now, it |
| should have evolved to Graveller (Level 20/22, it differs with some game |
| versions), and learnt a ground type attack (Magnitude, I believe...but even |
| Mud Slap could suffice if it was strong enough). The gym should now be |
| considerably easier to beat. |
+------------------------------------------------------------------------------+

The gym is set up with barriers throughout. You need to step on switches on
the floor to swap the barriers. There are usually trainers guarding the
barriers though, so beat them first. They aren't that hard compared to Wattson.
His electric Pokmon are strong. He has a Level 20 Voltorb which likes using
selfdestruct, a Level 20 Electrike, a Level 22 Magneton, and a Level 24
Manectric. He is extremely hard to beat, and it may take a few attempts to win.
When you win, you are rewarded with the Dynamobadge, and a TM for Shock Wave.
This is a cool move which NEVER misses. Use it well.

You should have taught Rock Smash to someone by now. Go to the Rusturf tunnel
in Verdanturf town, and use Rock Smash to brake down the boulders in there.
Doing this will earn you a HM for Strength. This HM allows you to move
boulders, but requires the fourth badge. Leave the tunnel, and go back to
Mauville. Then head north, using Rock Smash to get further than you could
before.

Notice the TV crew just after the rocks. Battling them will result in an
interview, which will result in you being on TV. Be sure to watch the TV
program about yourself inside a house with a TV. Continue north until you reach
the sandstorm. It is so vicious that it is impossible to keep going. So head
west. You will soon reach Mt Chimney, but the cable car is blocked by Team
Magma. So head through the tunnel to the west.

Fiery Path is quick and easy. You can't push the boulder yet, you need another
badge, so continue north. You will exit in berry heaven, pick as many berries
as you can, then go east. Keep going north, and you will see a kid near a tree.
Talk to him for a free TM. You will also notice that you by-passed the
sandstorm. After collecting the berries, head west, and you will enter the soot
fields. These fields are famous for the hidden ninjas that are found here.
They hide in piles of dirt, as do items. Press A to the piles of dirt if you
dare! Walk into the house towards the end of the fields to get a free soot
sack. This sack collects soot from grassy patches, and when you have enought,
can be used for glass blowing. Return to this house occasionally to see how
much soot you need for the glass blowing to happen. Continue west, you're
almost there.

=====
Aqua v.s. Magma - Fallarbor Town*
=====

This town is home to many interesting things, and lots of stuff to do. There is
also a battle tent, and the home of the "Move Tutor". He wants a heart scale in
exchange for his services, but you can't get one yet. Don't worry, we'll come
back when we get one. The word on the street in Fallarbor is that Prof. Cozmo
has been taken away by Team Magma. Sounds like he needs rescuing, so get to it.
Head west, and talk to the man with the dog for a TM. Then cross the bridge
south. The house you can see belongs to the owner of the Pokmon storage
system, Lannette. If you (like me) haven't use it so far, you don't know what
you're missing. Go south, battling trainers, and start climbing the mountain.

Smash the rock to get some Protein, an item which raises attack for ever. Then
go to the other side of the mountain and continue up. Go into Meteor Falls,
turn left, and you will find the professor surrounded by Team Magma. Walk up to
Team Magma, and Team Aqua will arrive. They will sort things out, just listen
to what they say so you know what to do next. Talk to Prof Cozmo to confirm
your mission; you must go to Mt Chimney.

Earlier in the journey we travelled through Fiery Path to get to Fallarbor. Now
go back to Fallarbor, head east, past the soot fields, and then go south to
where the sandstorm starts. Then head west, back into the fiery path.

Travel south through the path, until you get out at the cable car. If you walk
north, you will realise that there are no grunts in your way this time. So walk
up into the cable car. When you get off the cable car, you will see that the 2
teams are fighting. Walk north to find Archie stuck against 3 Magmas. Walk west
and find some Magmas not fighting. Fight them, and then go north to find Maxie.

Maxie has a Level 24 Mightyena, a Level 25 Camerupt, and a Level 24 Zubat. She
isn't harder that Wattson, in fact she is easier. Beat her to ruin Team Magma's
plans of erupting the volcano. Take the meteorite from the mysterious machine,
and than go back to the cable car. Don't go inside the car though, continue
south into the Jagged Pass. By the way, returning the meteorite to Prof. Cozmo
will earn you a reward.

If you have an Acro Bike, you will be able to bunny hop on some of the rocks in
Jagged Pass. Do this by holding down B. Don't worry about the Team Magam
grunt, but remember where he is standing. Go down the pass to get into
Lavaridge Town.

=====
HOT HOT HOT springs - Lavaridge Town*
=====

Lavaridge Town is home to the ledgendary Hot Springs. These can be accessed
through the back door of the Pokmon centre. It is also home to the Pokmon
Herb Shop, a place you should avoid unless poverty stricken. There is a gym
here, and the opportunity to get an egg! To get the egg, talk to the old woman
in the sand. The egg will hatch into a Level 5 Wynaut(which evolves into
a powerful Wobuffet)when you have walked a lot.

A good place to walk to is the gym. This gym is the biggest so far, and is
inhabited by fire Pokmon users. A water or rock Pokmon will be great in here,
as will burn heal. The holes in the ground are like teleporters. Sometimes, a
trainer will come out of one, but sometimes travelling through them is problem
free.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DO NOT pass this point until you have a water/ground Pokmon at Level 24 or
higher, and at least 3 other Pokmon at Level 24 or higher.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When you first walk into the gym, take the hole furtherest from you, and nearest
to Flannery. Then go down, between the two trainers(in holes), and into the
bottom hole. You can see a triangular formation. The right and bottom holes
are trainers, and the left hole takes you back were you just were. Go up and
take the left hole. Take the left hole again, and then take the hole on the
left but near the middle. Take the first hole, then the hole on the right.
Jump the ledge and take the hole, and you will end up in front of Flannery.

Flannery has a Level 24 Numel, a Level 24 Slugma, a Level 25 Camerupt, and a
Level 29 Torkoal. Keep using water/rock/ground moves and you'll be fine. See
the gym leaders FAQ for more info. When you win, you get the Heatbadge, and a
TM for Overheat. The downside of Overheat is that your Special Attack goes down
when you use it, so it becomes less powerful. When you leave the gym, May will
give you a gift-The Go Goggles-which allow you to walk in the sandstorm. This
is useful. If you listened to Flannery when you beat her, you will know that
the next gym leader is your dad. So its off to Petalburg City.

=====
Dad and you, mono e mono - Petalburg City (second visit)*
=====

Walk east, jump the ledges instead of taking the cable car, and then walk south
into Mauville. You now have two options. You can either go east, take Rusturf
tunnel, and then walk south through Petalburg woods from Rustboro City. Or you
can continue south to Slateport, then let Mr Briney take you to Dewford, then on
to  Petalburg.  It's your choice.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    _____
   /     \
  | STOP! |
   \_____/

DO NOT pass this point until you have a fighting/rock Pokmon(if possible, not
compulsory) at Level 27 or higher, and at least 3 other Pokmon at Level 27 or
higher.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Petalburg City gym is my favourite by a long shot. The trainers in here use all
types of Pokmon, but mainly the normal type. Each room in the gym is home to a
trainer with a specialty. For example, the first two rooms are the Speed Room
and the Accuracy Room. The room name indicates what is special about the
trainer's Pokmon. Here is a diagram of the rooms:

Start-Accuracy-Recovery
  |       |       |
Speed-Defense-One hit KO
  |        |        |
Confusion-Strength-Leader's Room

Norman (your Father) is much stronger than the previous trainers. He has a
Level 27 Spinda, a Level 27 Vigoroth, a Level 29 Linoone, and a Level 31
Slaking. The first two are easy with any fighting Pokmon attack (except Rock
Smash!) Linoone will use a move called belly drum, which cuts HP but maximises
attack. Then Norman will use a hyper potion. You must take Linoone out in
those two turns, or he will destroy you. Slaking's special ability only lets it
attack every second turn, so recover/attack in that time. Beating Norman will
earn you the Balancebadge, and a TM for Facade, a move which doubles in strength
if you are poisoned/burned/paralyzed.

After winning, Wally's dad will take you away from the gym, and give you a Surf
HM. This lets you travel across water! Teach it to a water Pokmon.

Now that you can surf, it's time to head east from Mauville. In case you don't
read you Pokenav, east from Mauville is the way to the next city, but there is
water in the way. This means we can use surf! Mr Briney won't take you to
Slateport because he has decided to take a hike, so you can go through Petalburg
woods or surf east from north of Oldale town.

=====
Really really long grass - Mauville to Fortree Hike*
=====

Wattson is standing in the middle of Mauville Town. He wants you to complete
a sub quest for him. The quest - turning off Mauville's power generator, is
easy, and I won't describe it. When you succeed, Wattson will give you a
Thunderbolt TM. There is also a Thunderstone inside New Mauville, right next to
the generator.

Surf east from Mauville, and you will soon hit land again. Talk to the
fisherman for a good rod, a rod which can catch more Pokmon than the old rod.
Then walk east. Steven will talk to you about raising Pokmon, then walk away.
Don't worry, you'll meet him again. Cut the tree and get the four sitrus
berries. Siturs berries do three times what oran berries do, they cure 30HP.

If you walk east, you will see a hyper potion. Get it, then jump the leadge
and continue east. You will arrive at the Berry Master's house. The berry
master is a man who loves to give away berries, so go get some. Come back
tomorrow for some more. There is a two on two battle further east, but that is
as far as you can go. Go west, back toward the water.

Go north at the split in the ledges, and you will encounter super long grass for
the first time. This grass is similar to normal long grass, but it is almost
impossible to see trainers in it. Approach with caution. There are several
items hidden in gaps in the grass, but they can't be seen.

The majority of the trainers in the super long grass are mimicers. After you
beat one, they will start mimicing your every move. This makes them almost im-
possible to battle. When you continue north you will come to a white ledge. If
you have an acro bike, you can use its stunt features to get across this ledge.
There is usually good stuff on the other side.

After walking across the bridge on top of the rock formation, continue north for
more trainers and super long grass. It gets a bit repetitive after a while.
If you challenge the two on two trainers, you will get an item. You will also
notice a sandy slope. If you have a mach bike, you can climb this slope with a
little run up.

Continue north and you will see the weather institute. Oh my god! its Team
Aqua. Better go inside and investigate. The bed in the top left corner of
level one will act like a Pokmon centre, while the PC is the same as one found
in town. Work your way upstairs, defeating the grunts as you go. You may wish
to go back to the bed before battling the final Aqua Admin.

When you win, Team Aqua will have a "situation". Team Magma are off to Mt Pyre.
Off course, this means nothing to you for now, so claim your free Pokmon from
the weather institute boss. Now would be a really good time to take a rest,
because you are about to battle May.

Cross the bridge outside, then get the elixer down the southern stairs. Go
north, and who should you stumble upon but May, cycling hard across the bridge.
May has a Lombre(unless she started with grass), a Slugma(unless she started
with fire) and a Wingull(unless she started with water). Basically, replace her
starter with one of these Pokmon to determine her team. She is harder than
last time you battled(Rustboro city), and about as hard as the Aqua Admin.
Defeating May will earn you a HM for Fly. Now you can fly from city to city
(actually, this requires another badge).

Scott will praise you a bit more(I swear he is a stalker in disguise), and then
you can head north. The next sign will tell you that you are almost in Fortree
City, so keep going north. When you can see berry trees, it means its time to
turn east. Do so, and before you know it you will enter Fortree City.

=====
Steven v.s. invisiblity. Who will win? - Fortree City*
=====

The people of Fortree City live on treetops. However, something on the ground
is bothering them. There are several invisible barriers throughout town, in-
cluding one in front of the gym. You may have encountered one of these just
south of the berry bushes mentioned at the end of the previous chapter.

If you go in the northern row of houses, and enter the second house, you will
have the chance to get a hidden power TM. Talk to the lady, and correctly guess
which hand the coin is in three times. I think this is totally random, so good
luck. The man in that house will teach sleep talk to a Pokmon, this move makes
a good combo if anyone knows rest.

By now you must be itching to challenge the gym, so here's how to do it. Walk
east, out of town, and you will soon come to a bridge. On that bridge is non
other than Steven. Talk to him and all will be revealed. By using his Devon
Scope, invisible Pokmon become visible. This isn't the only chance you will
get to catch a Kecleon, but it is the most powerful, so try to.

Steven gives you the Devon Scope and flies off. Now you can remove the Kecleon
blocking your entry into the gym. So go back to Fortree.

Using your Devon Scope, you can get rid of the Kecleon blocking your entry into
the gym. Once you have done that, go inside.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DO NOT pass this point until you have an electric/rock Pokmon at Level 28 or
higher, and at least 4 other Pokmon at Level 29 or higher, or 3 other Pokmon
at Level 31 or higher

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fortree Gym is a very tricky gym to navigate in. This is because of the
rotating devices planted throughout the gym. To rotate a device, walk up to it
and continue walking in a way that will cause it to spin. It will not spin if
there is a wall or trainer in the way. This gym is tricky, so I'll go into more
detail then others. Walk west, and through the first barrier. Continue through
the second, then go north. Push this larger device west using the small bit
sticking out south, then walk around and avoid the trainers.

Now for the first trick puzzle. To do this, push the small bit at the top of
lower device. Then, spin the upper device the only way you can(by walking west)
Go back to the lower device and hit the big arm, then the same small bit as last
time. Spin the upper device north, and you're done.

There's one more trainer(after the unavoidables above the previous puzzle), so
battle him. If you don't, you'll find yourself trying to dodge him and complete
a puzzle at the same time. After beating him, push the left device by moving
the bottom bit. Then, push the right device so you can walk up past it. Push
the top device, then walk back down through the left one. Now go through the
right device again, and walk through the opening.

Note: If you're Pokmon aren't up to Winona's level, you don't have to battle
her. Just skip to the next chapter, and come back later. However, you won't
be able to fly until you beat her.

Finally, we've reached Winona. Damn, Winona is hard to beat. She has a Level
29 Swablu(easy), a Level 29 Tropius, a Level 29 Skarmory, a Level 30 Pelipper,
and a Level 33 Altaria. When you beat Winona, you recieve the Featherbadge,
and a TM for aerial ace(an unavoidable attack). Congratulations, you've beaten
the second hardest leader(the eight is extraordianrily easy).

You can now leave Fortree, and travel to Lilycove

=====
It's raining, it's poring - Fortree to Lilycove Hike*
=====

Walk east out of Lilycove, back to where you got the Devon Scope from Steven.
Walk south off the bridge and it will start raining. Your water Pokmon will
now be more effective in battle. Walk south, battling trainers as you go. Try
to catch an Absol or Poochyena in this area, you'll need them arond Level 33 for
the next gym. Watch out for ninjas hidden in trees as you walk.

Walk south for more long grass. You can't cycle throgh the grass, so keep
walking. There is a Kecleon on the grass less path, this may be your last
chance to get one. Get the nugget directly south of the Kecleon, this can be
sold for 5000 yen. There is a big secret base east of the nugget, which you
should consider if you have a secret power TM. Jump the ledges south and the
rain stops.

Climb the steps near the bumbling fool and you will find a lot of berries. Take
them all. Then surf south for a full heal. Go back and get more berries south
of the steps. Talk to the girl for another berry.

Walk east and you will embark on route 121. We are getting near Lilycove(This
hike is shorter than Mauville - Fortree, but it's still a hike). Pick the
berries near the moving trainer, then continue east. Oh no! It's Team Aqua.
This gets pretty repetitive, but you'll have to live with it. Team Aqua are
going to Mt Pyre. You don't have to go there right away, but you will soon.

The building nearby is the Safari Zone. In the Safari Zone, you can catch rare
Pokmon that can't be found anywhere else. You can't go in without a pokeblock
case, which we don't have right now. You can get a pokeblock case in Lilycove.

Walk down the stairs and get a zinc, an item which raises Special Defense.
Contine east and you will reach a fenced area. Most of the trainers here are
guarding items, so you don't really need to battle them. You can go to Lilycove
and heal, then come back and train in this area. The last girl in the minimaze
is a good trainer to battle, because she is always ready for a rematch. If you
cut the tree and press A whilst facing the bottom left open patch, you'll find
another nugget. When you're done, walk into Lilycove.

=====
Contests...Museums...SHOPPING!! - Lilycove City*
=====

Lilycove is home to the legendary Contest Hall. There is a special section on
contest towards the end of the FAQ. There is also a rival battle in Lilycove.
To battle May, go to the front door of Lilycove department store. The battle is
optional, but you can't go shopping without winning first. May's Pokmon are
similar to last time you battled. There are Team Aqua personel throughout
Lilycove, but no one will battle you. They are just there because it is near
their hideout(hint hint).

It you walk into the house furtherest east, the man in their will give you a
rest TM. Rest allows you to sleep for 3 turns, and fully heals you. Use this
in conjunction with sleep talk.

If you want to talk to Scott, he can be found in Cove Lily motel in the south-
east area of town. He doesn't say much, but it feels good to follow him instead
of him following you.

The most useful place in town is the move deleter's house. It is located next
door to the Pokemart. The move deleter will delete any move that you want a
Pokmon to forget, even HMs. Occasionally, however, a Pokmon won't be willing
to forget a move. This means that this move will be useful in contests and
Battle Spirit tents.

Finally, talking to the artist walking around inside Lilycove museum(west of the
pokemart)will give you the opportunity to have a painting put on display. To do
this, you must win a master rank Pokmon contest.

Battle May, and then you can leave this town. May has a Tropius(regardless of
what she started with, a Slugma, a Ludicolo, and a Wingull(replace starter with
Pokmon of same type). Beat her and you can enter the pokemart.

Here is a little price list for the department store:

Level 1: Entry, Lotto(talk to lady on right of conter daily)
Level 2: Same as most pokemarts - potions, balls etc.
Level 3: X items, and vitamins(zinc, iron etc.)
Level 4: TMs: 17-protect, 20-mist, 33-reflect, 16-light screen
         TMs: 38-fire blast, 25-thunder, 14-blizzard, 15-hyper beam
Level 5: Secret base shop(anything to do with secret bases)
Level 6: Rooftop Square(soda pop, fresh water etc.)
         Talk to the far east girl to learn substitue

You can win a master ball from the lotto girl if your pokmon's ID matches her
random number for the day. Just talk to her to find out if you've won.

There are cetain days in which everything in the pokemart is on sale. Watch TV
to find out when. On sale days, you can buy wooden planks, a secret base item
used to cover holes.

Get a pokeblock case from the receptionist at contest hall. You can store
pokeblocks in this, and they will strengthen your Pokmon in key contest areas.

That's about all there is to do in Lilycove. Team Aqua are at Mt Pyre, and now
its time to stop them.

=====
Secure the orb! - Mt Pyre*
=====

Walk west out of Lilycove, back the way we came, until you get to Safari Zone.
Then, head south onto the little boardwalk. Surf south, and go all the way
around the mountain. The entry is on the southern side, so go there. When you
see the entry, stop surfing and enter.

If you've played Pokmon red/blue/yellow, you'll recognise Mt Pyre as being very
similar to Lavender Tower. However, we're taking on Team Aqua, not Team Rocket.

Some of the tombstones have items hidden in them, so walk around randomly
pressing A for some free stuff. Talk to the granny in the top right corner for
a cleanse tag, a hold item which wards off wild Pokmon(much like fluffy tail).

Mt Pyre is the only place to catch some ghost Pokmon, so you may want to catch
one. Remember, physical attacks(rock, ground, normal, fly, fight, bug, poison)
don't affect ghosts.

Up the stairs are trainers. You don't need to battle them. Instead, go west,
and walk outside.

If, like me, you love your fire Pokmon, but didn't choose Torchic, then in this
area you can catch a Vulpix. Vulpix evolve into the superstrong Ninetails. They
look cool too.

Walk up the steps and go west. Get the skill swap TM, then continue north. Go
up some more steps, and when it gets foggy you'll see a max potion. This item
FULLY heals a Pokmon(recovers up to 500 HP). Go to the tombstone that's seper-
ated from you be grass, and get a Max ether. Then walk past the long rocks on
the west side for an ultra ball. Go up some more stairs, and follow the arrow.

Finally, we can take on Team Aqua. If you turn west at the first grunt, the
bottom left tombstone contains zinc. Battle the grunts, and go up the stairs.
By now, you should have realised that Team Magma were here too. Take on the 2
grunts, then walk up to Archie. Talk to him, and he'll leave. Then, get the
Magma emblem from the old people.

Leave Mt Pyre and head south. I will now describe the Lilycove to Mauville
hike. If you wish, you can fly to Jagged Pass(via cable car), and move on to
the Magma Hideout chapter.

=====
Back to mainland - Lilycove to Mauville hike*
=====

Get the berries when you stop surfing, then talk to the girl. If you have any
grass Pokmon, she'll give you a Giga Drain TM. This move is an upgrade of
absorb. Go west, and cut the tree down to avoid the grass and trainers. Jump
the ledge, and get the Elixer.

In this area, the aim is to jump as few ledges as possible. If you do this, you
will avoid getting back to Mauville for as long as possible(this means more EXP
and more items). This means that to fully complete this hike(and get all items)
you'll need to do it several times(fly if you can).

Anyways, jump the southern ledge, get the revival herb, then go west to the PP
up. Next time you're here, jump west instead of south, and get the calcium.
Continue west, and you'll reach the berry master's house. This was a pretty
short chapter, but a chapter nontheless. If you haven't been to the Berry
Master's today yet, go in for free berries. Otherwise, fly to Mauville.

In Mauville, leave the town via the north exit. Continue north until you reach
the sandstorm, then go west to the cable car. Take the cable car up, then walk
about half the way down Jagged Pass. Your Magma Emblem will start to react with
the landscape, so enter...

=====
Time to take Maxie down - Magma Hideout*
=====

I told you to remember the Magma grunt standing here, and now you know why. The
hideout is concealed well, but we've found it. First thing in here is a
strenght puzzle. If you don't know strength, go to Fallarbor and get it. The
puzzle is easy, just move the western boulders to the west side, then go north.

Follow the cavern a bit, and you will encounter your first grunt. Battle him,
then continue south. My god, that's some odd machinery. I don't want to know
what Team Magma are up to(but I do because I've played this before). Go out the
cavern door, and walk east. Go down the stairs and battle the grunt. Then,
walk east. If you aren't at the top of this level, the next grunt won't see you
(she is optional). Go down the stairs, and take on the running grunts. The
ladder is located south east of the machinery. Go down 2 ladders, then into the
cavern.

In this cavern, walk as far east as you can go, then go into the new cavern.
Follow the path in here, until you battle the grunt. Then walk south and get
the rare candy. Go back along the path, and back down the stairs. Now, take
the middle staircase and get the Max Elixer. Then, take the eastern staircase
and get the full restore. Walk back out of the cavern, and go down the stairs
into a new one.

Beat the grunt, and go down the stairs. Walk east, and go into the cavern. Get
the PP Max to the north west. Leave the room, and go down the stairs. Go west,
get the nugget, then go into the next cavern. Take the double stairs and walk
west. Beat the grunt, then go past the 2 on 2. Go north, and take on the admin

Walk west, grabbing the Max Revive, then go south and east, and get ready to
battle Maxie. Maxie will walk Groudon up first, but it will leave, and begin
to create havoc. She will attack you, but you will defeat her(I hope).

Walk out of the cavern, and either use the escape rope(west), or walk ahead.
This is a direct route out of the hideout. Jump the ledge and go north, then
west, then south, until you reach the boulders. Push the first one down, then
the eastern one east. Now walk out. Fly to Lilycove City.

=====
Try to take Archie down - Aqua Hideout*
=====

Walk east in Lilycove, and surf towards the Wailmer barrier. Then go north into
the door in the rock. Talk to the grunts up ahead, and you will know exactly
what to do next(damn, those grunts are extraordinarily stupid). Go to Slateport
City.

Walk north of the Pokmon centre, towards the harbour. Talk to Captain Stern,
and Team Aqua will appear. Archie says that you can't follow them all the way
back to Lilycove, so do exactly that.

Back inside Aqua Hideout, the 2 morons are gone. Walk up the stairs(north east)
and into a new room. In this room are 2 teleporters. Take the east one, get
the max elixer, then go back. This time, take the left one. Walk past the
grunt, then go south, onto the teleporter. Take the one on the left, then keep
walking left until you reach the bottom. Take the far left one at the bottom.

Grab the south west ball(nugget) and the north west ball(MASTER BALL!!). The
other 2 are electrodes. Incase you are new to Pokmon, I will briefly describe
the master ball... The master ball is the greatest ball ever, and it never
misses. Use it to catch a ledgendary Pokmon. There is only one master ball in
existence... Go back on the teleporter, then go on the middle one, then the
left one. Go up, and you'll be back in the previous long room. Go past the
grunts, and onto the teleporter.

Go up the stairs, and into a new room. You can see Archie at the bottom of this
room, but can't reach him yet. Get the south west teleporter for a nest ball,
then go onto the eastern teleporter. Up the stairs, battle the grunt, and up
some more stairs. Battle more grunts, and take the teleporter.

Welcome to Archie's room. When you walk in, the guard will react, but not
battle you. The teleporter at the bottom is a shortcut to the exit(just go up
the stairs), so there's nothing to do except battle him. Archie escapes while
you battle. You can't catch Archie yet, but you can go to the next gym.

=====
2 on 2 ville - Mossdeep City*
=====

Surf east from Lilycove Harbour. The Wailmer barrier is gone, so you can
enter open water. Surf past the 2 on 2, and continue east until you hit a
patch of land. The house on this land belongs to Hunter, a man who wants Red
Shards. Leave if you haven't got any. Red Shards can be found underwater(the
dark patches on water)but this requires a new HM.

Continue east and you will end up on the shallows outside Mossdeep City. Enter
the city. Mossdeep is home of 2 important things. Steven(the guy you delivered
a letter to)and the hardest gym leaders ever(Tate and Liza, a 2 on 2 gym). The
Hoenn Space Centre is also located on the eastern side of the island. Walk to
the house north west of the space centre(also raised above the rest of town) for
a super rod. Then walk to the lowest point in town(directly south)for a nest
ball. That's about all there is to do in town. Go take on the gym leaders.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    _____
   /     \
  | STOP! |
   \_____/

DO NOT pass this point until you have 2 dark/bug(not poison) Pokmon at Level 36
or higher, and at least 4 other Pokmon at Level 36 or higher, or 3 other
Pokmon at Level 40 or higher

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This gym uses psychic Pokmon. Defeat them using dark or bug types. Try and
have 2 of those types, or a dark and a water for the final battle. Beat the
first 2 trainers in the gym. The yellow squares rotate the arrows, and the
blue circles are teleporters. Walk on the top teleporter.

In this new room, take out the trainers. If you want a 2 on 2, hit the square
switch. Otherwise, beat them one by one. When you're done, step on the right
teleporter. Walk through this room, and at the bottom, step on the switch 2
times. This will create a path in the next room. Go back to the top of this
room, and teleport into the previous one. Now take the other teleporter.

Step on the switch until there is a path through the left side of the room.
Hit the blue switch, then walk past it and battle the trainers at the top. Now
step on the orange switch to form a path on the other side of the room. Then,
step on the blue switch, and go back to the middle of the room(near where you
entered). Create a path to the right side(past the old man)and go up to the
teleporter.

If you created a path here before, you can walk straight through this room. If
not, go back and create one. Welcome to Tate and Liza's room. The teleporter
at the top takes you to the exit, so don't step on it. Tate and Liza are twins,
and they always know what the other is thinking. Winning won't be easy.

Tate and Liza start with a Level 41 Claydol and a Level 41 Xatu. Claydol is
ground-psychic type, while Xatu is a psychic bird. Take out Claydol with water,
and Xatu with electricity(or dark/bug). After then is a Level 42 Solrock, then
a Level 42 Lunatone. Winning will earn you the Mindbadge, and a TM for Calm
Mind, a move which raises Specail Attack, and Special Defence. One badge to go.

Now that you've beaten the gym leaders, Team Magma will come to the island.
Follow them to the Space Centre. Talk to the old man on level 1, then defeat
the grunts.Go upstairs, and tell the three grunts that you want to take them on.
Defeat them, then walk south west and talk to Steven. With Steven's help,
battle Maxie and the Admin. Team Magma will leave when you win. Go to Steven's
house and he'll give you a dive HM. Talk to Steven again and he'll tell you
about an underground cavern. Team Aqua mentioned an underground cavern. Let's
go and get Archie.

=====
Take Archie down - Underwater Aqua Hideout*
=====

Steven said the cavern was Mossdeep and Sootopolis. Surf south of Mossdeep,
looking for dark blue patches. When ever you see one, dive. The cavern can be
found on route 128, 4 Pokenav squares south of Mossdeep. There is a long dark
blue line running almost to Mossdeep from there, so dive anywhere along that
line and go south. By the way, to get from underwater, press B.

Enter the cavern, and you'll see the submarine. Use dive, and you'll enter
Seafloor Cavern. Walk north, into a boulder room. You need Strength and Rock
Smash. Rock Smash the rock on the west path, then move the boulder down. Walk
east, push the boulder, and go north. Battle the grunt, then go up the stairs.
Enter the cavern(south). Push the boulders on the west side, then break the
rock.  Enter the cavern.

Jumping the southern ledge will take you to the entry, so go north. Enter the
cavern, and push the boulder. Push the same boulder west, then push the next
boulder north. Enter the cavern. In this room, try and avoid the currents as
much as possible. Attempt to surf towards your goal as much as you can. Surf
north, onto the current, and let it take you to an open square. Now, surf east.
Surf north here, then go west(going east will take you to the entry). Surf
north, then walk into the cavern.

Battle the grunts, then walk north into the next cavern. Alternatively, you can
clear a path by moving the boulders. In the new room, push the middle boulder,
then push the left and right boulders to the wall. Now push the middle boudler
to the left, and push the new middle boudler(second row from top)up. Seperate
the left and right boulders as you did before, and push up the boulders on
both sides of the middle boulder. Push the middle boulder to the side, and
enter the cavern.

Get the earthquake TM, then go downstairs. Walk up to Kyogre and Archie will
talk to you. Archie is as strong as the Mossdeep leaders, but he has less
Pokmon. The red orb will begin shining, and Kyogre will wake up and leave.
Maxie will arrive, and the two leaders will temporarily resolve their
differences and get you out of there. Outside, the weather is terrible.

Maxie and Archie leave, and Steven arrives. Talk to him, then surf north-west.
When you find a large rock formation surrounded by deep water, dive. Head
south, until you find a enterance to a cavern. Enter the cavern, and dive up.
Welcome to Sootopolis.

=====
The ledgendary battle of Lake Magikarp - Sootopolis City*
=====

Kyogre and Groudon are fighting in the centre of the lake. Ignore them, and
surf to the Pokmon centre. Talk to Steven, who will take you to Cave of
Origin. Inside the cave, you will meet Wallace. He asks where to find Ray-
quazza. The answer is obvious, but I'll say it anyway. Sky Pillar. Sky
Pillar can be found just east of Pacificlodge Town. Look at your Hoenn Map for
more info. Leave the Cave of Origin, and surf dive underwater at the southern
end of Sootopois. Now, instead of diving strait back up, there are a few extra
things you can do underwater, which will help in certain side quests. If you
don't want to do them, simply skip to the next chapter.

---Underwater Extras---

Surf east from Sootopolis. You will see a patch seabed without grass. In the
middle of it, there is a lump. Press A whilst looking over the lump and you'll
get a big pearl(note....i wrote this section a few days AFTER actually finding
the items, so I may not get the positioning of individual items right. Please
email me with corrections...Thanks). Now surf north, and head west when you
reach more grass. Go west until you hit the wall, then go north, over the dark
patch, and into a closed off area with a small lump. Get the item, then go
back the way you came. When you reach the grass on the eastern side of the
underwater cavern, go north. Turn west at the top of this bit, then south over
another grassy patch. Another lump! By now, you should have a Big Pearl, a
Heart Scale (go to the move tutor's house in Fallarbor Town to use it), and one
more item(emails please :D). The other thing you must do here(if you want to
complete your pokedex) is to catch a Relicanth. These can ONLY be found in
this cavern. Once you've caught a Relicanth, try to catch a Wailmer(not found
here, but I'll mention it because they're part of the same side-quest).
Wailmer can be found by fishing(with a super rod)whilst surfing. When you've
got one, evolve it into a Wailord. You can now leave the underwater cavern,
and starting surfing towards Pacificlodge.

---End of "Underwater Extras"---

=====
Searching for the pillar - Sootopolis to Pacificlodge Surf*
=====

I'll start this chapter with the assumption that you are surfing right outside
Sootopolis. Surf east, until you come to a rock formation. Surf north around
it, then continue east. You will see some deep water. Dive, then go north
until you see a rock. Press A while looking over it too get a star piece. Use
dive again, and surf south(note..surfing east will take you to Evergrand City,
and the Pokmon League). There is a trainer swimming between two rocks. Surf
between the rocks(past her), and continue south, surfing as close to the rock
on your western side as possible. When that rock ends, go west.

The bad weather hasn't made it here yet, so it's an easy surf to Sootopolis.
There are a lot of swimmers here, which is good practice for the next gym.
Train your electric and grass Pokmon. There isn't anything overly exciting on
the route (except Sky Pillar) so just use it for training. When you reach
Pacificlodge, heal your Pokmon, and get ready to tackle Rayquazza.

=====
Rayquazza's house - Sky Pillar*
=====

Surf east from Pacificlodge, and stay near the rocks on the northern side of
the route. There is a break in the rocks between two swimmers who are going
around in circles. Go through the break, and surf west. You'll reach a cavern
Welcome to Sky Pillar. Go up the stairs, and out of the cavern, and you'll see
Wallace. He flees when the weather makes it to Sky Pillar, and leaves you
alone. Go up the stairs(top right), then up the stairs on the top left(on the
next level). On the third level, walk around the rocks, and up the stairs on
the right. On the fourth, walk around to the other side, and step on a crack.
You are on level 3 again, so go up the centre stairs. On level 4, take the
stairs on the left. Walk around the rocks on level 5, and up the stairs.

You are now in Rayquazza's domain. Walk up to the giant dragon, and it will
wake up. You can now leave the Pillar, and go back to Sootopolis. As you
enter the city, Rayquazza will defeat Kyogre and Groudon, and take them away.
The weather will change back to normal, and everyone will be happy.
(note...you can now go to sky pillar and actually catch Rayquazza, but you will
need a Mach Bike...see the ledgenday Pokmon section for more info)

=====
Juan waits for no man - Sootopolis City (Second Visit)*
=====

The whole town has been opened up for you, and you can now go almost anywhere
in Sootopolis. Surf to the gym. Talk to Maxie and Archie, and they'll leave.
Now, talk to Wallace. He'll give you a waterfall HM, and allow you to enter
the final gym. When you are ready, you can do just that.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    _____
   /     \
  | STOP! |
   \_____/

DO NOT pass this point until you have a grass/electric Pokmon at Level 38 or
higher, and at least 5 other Pokmon at Level 37 or higher.

*Note* You CAN use Rayquazza in this gym, and in the Pokmon League. You do NOT
have to beat the Elite Four to capture Rayquazza.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is my second favourite gym(after Norman's). It's easy, and lots of fun.
You have to step on each icy space once to progress. If you step on one twice,
you fall into a trainer room. If your Pokmon need experience, just drop in.
I'm not going to tell you which tiles to step on, because that defeats the
purpose of the gym. If you are that lazy, there are other walkthroughs with
that informaion.

Juan has a level 41 Luvdisc, a Level 41 Whiscash(water-ground, so you can't use
electricity), a Level 43 Sealeo, a Level 43 Crawdunt, and a Level 46 Kingdra.
Kingdra is water-dragon, so neither electricity nor grass are super effective,
but the Dragon type is.

When you beat Juan, you get a Rainbadge, and a TM for water pulse, a move which
may confuse, as well as doing damage. You can now take on the Pokmon League!

Before you leave, go to the western side of Sootopolis. Climb up the first
steps, then walk north on the brown section. Go up the steps twice, then take
the steps north of you 3 times. Go up the steps that only lead to one house,
and inside, get a Brick Break TM. If you started with Torchic(Blaziken), this
move is essential for the league.

=====
Wally just doesn't quit - Victory Road*
=====

To get to Victory Road, follow the path towards Pacificlodge until a certain
point. This is mentioned in the Sootopolis-Pacificlodge chapter. Surf east
from the end of the rock, and you will soon see the waterfall. Use waterfall
then enter the Pokmon Centre. Once all your Pokmon are fully healed, you're
ready to enter Victory Road.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    _____
   /     \
  | STOP! |
   \_____/

DO NOT pass this point until you have 6 Pokmon at Level 40 or higher. It is
a very bad idea to go further without five Pokmon. If you plan on catching
Pokmon inside Victory Road, withdraw a high level Pokmon from the PC until you
catch what you want.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Walk up the stairs right in front of you, then go across the bridge. Wally
will catch up to you, and battle you. This Wally is much harder than any other,
so be very careful. He's Pokmon are a higher level then Juan's, and he is by
far the toughest battle so far. Wally has a Level 44 Altaria, a Level 43
Delcatty,a Level 41 Magneton, a Level 44 Roselia, and a Level 45 Gardevoir.
Good Luck in beating him(btw..i told you to bring six Pokmon because his Levels
were likely to be higher than yours).

Victory Road is teaming with wild Pokmon. If you don't plan on capturing any
Pokmon the first time around, then i highly reccomend you buy a LOT of max
repels.

From where you battled Wally, walk north, and battle the Cooltrainer. Then,
take the stairs. Be sure to use your Exp Share effectively, so that all your
Pokmon are at equal levels. Down the stairs, it is dark, and you need to use
flash. You will also need strength to solve the boulder puzzles in here. Walk
around the right of the first rock, then go left when you've gone past it. Push
the boulder into the indent in the wall. Now, go south, then east, and push the
other boulder into an indent. Walk south, then east, and smash the rock(another
HM you need!). Climb the stairs and cross the bridge. On the other side,
battle the trainer, then go south, west, and down the stairs. Go north, battle
the trainer, then surf(4 HMs, 5 if you include Waterfall :D)north, and up the
stairs. Up here, walk towards the indent in the wall, and press A while looking
over it to get a Max Repel. Now go south east, then north. Climp the stairs
and get the Psychic TM. Then go back down the stairs, and go south past the
trainer.

Cross the bridge on the western side, DO NOT jump the ledge unless you want to
leave Victory Road(its a shortcut down to the entry). Across the bridge, you
can battle the trainers seperately or as a 2 on 2. Then, cross the next bridge.
Battle the trainer who THINKS you're tired, then continue north. Surf north and
east, until you can stop at an indent in the wall. Stand in the bottom half of
it, and press A while looking over the top half for an elixer. Then surf west.

The trainer is tough to beat, and the item is only a Full Heal. Get it if you
really need items, otherwise surf north-west, and down the waterfall. Now,
surf east until you come to a ladder. Go down the ladder, and go west if you
want to battle a few trainers. If you don't, go south(going west gets you back
where you are now, there is nothing new there except trainers). Now, go east
until you get to the rock and boulders. Smash the top right rock, push the
bottom right rock down, then smash the other rock. Walk north to the ladder.

Walk up, and across the ladder, then walk north around the large rock the ladder
sits on. Battle the trainer, then walk north. There are two trainers here, to
avoid them(optional), walk along the eastern edge of the passage. Continue
north, and walk out of the cavern. Welcome to the Pokmon LEAGUE!!!!

===============================================================================
==========================Pokmon LEAGUE!*=====================================
===============================================================================

Walk north, into the main building. Inside, there is a Pokmon Centre and Poke
mart. Go to the Pokemart, and make sure you have at least 10 full restores, 10
revives, and 10 max/hyper potions. Also, if you deposited any useful items into
the PC earlier in the game, get them back out now. Talk to the two men standing
in front of a door, and they will step aside. You can now enter, and take on
the Elite Four.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DO NOT pass this point until you have 6 Pokmon of different types, at Level 44
or higher.

Recommended Team 1: Fire, Grass, Water, Psychic/Dark, Electric, Rock/Flying
This team contains all the common types of Pokmon.

Recommended Team 2: Fighting, Dark, Fire, Ice, Electric, Grass
The types that are super effective against each trainer.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Remember, the order I write hear isn't necessarily the order in which you will
face the Pokmon. That depends on what type advantages are available to the
opponents.

-----
Sidney
-----

"Welcome, challenger. I'm Sidney of the Elite Four. I like that look you're
giving me. I guess youll give me a good match. That's good, looking real good.
All right, you and me, lets enjoy a battle that can only be staged here in the
Pokmon League!"

Dark Pokmon are Sidney's specialty, although he doesn't like to boast about it.
Dark is weak against Fighting, but strong against Psychic. Most of his Pokmon
are hybrids, so don't worry if you don't have any Fighters.

Lv. 46 Mightyena: A standard battle, just use a fighting Pokmon. It's ability
cuts your starter's attack.
Lv. 48 Shiftry: Fire or Fighting do just fine. This battle is made for Blaziken
starters.  Rayquazza also works well.
Lv. 46 Cacturne: Fire or Fighting, same as Shiftry. Rayquazza also works well.
Lv. 48 Crawdunt: Grass, Fighting(not Blaziken), or Electricity. All of which
you should have available to you.
Lv. 49 Absol: Don't use fighting, as Absol can use flying attacks. Instead, use
something powerful of any other type(except grass, bug, or psychic)

Prize: 4900

Phoebe
-----

"Ahahaha! I'm Phoebe of the Elite Four. I did my training on Mt Pyre. While I
trained, I gained the ability to commune with ghost Pokmon. Yes, the bond I
developed with Pokmon is extremely tight. So, come on, just try and see if you
can even inflict damage on my Pokmon!

She sure is a boaster, but what she says is totally true. Very few attacks can
harm the ghost type. Try using the Dark type, which is strong against ghosts.

Lv. 48 Dusclops: Standard ghost, use darkness. It likes to protect, so use
high PP moves on even turns, as they will be protected. Dusclops' ability
causes you to use double PP.
Lv. 49 Banette: Darkness will work well against this one.
Lv. 50 Sableye: You may want to change(especially if you have Rayquazza),
because by now your PP may be half gone. You want it just in case. Otherwise,
similar strategy.
Lv: 49 Banette: Same as other Banette.
Lv. 51 Dusclops: Same as first...this is getting repetitive!

Prize: 5100

-----
Glacia
-----

"Welcome, my name is Glacia of the Elite Four. I've travelled afar to Hoenn so
that I may hone my icy skills. But all I have seen are challenges by weak
trainers and their Pokmon. What about you? It would please my no end if I
could go all out against you!

Ice is one of the rarer types, and is famous for being powerful against dragons.
Glacia has mostly water-ice hybrids, so be careful when using fire. Fighting
also hurts the Ice type.

Lv. 50 Sealeo: Water-Ice, use either fighting or electric. First attack will be
hail, so strike hard and you can win with little damage.
Lv. 50 Glalie: Yay, pure Ice. Fire away, or fight if necessary.
Lv. 52 Sealeo: Same as first, even uses Hail.
Lv. 52 Glalie: Same as other one. So much fun.
Lv. 53 Walrein: Water-Ice, so use fighting or electric. Don't use Blaziken.

Prize: 5300

Drake
-----

"I am the last of the Elite Four, Drake the Dragon master! In their natural
state, Pokmon are wild living things. They are free. At times, they hinder
us. At times, they help us. For us to battle with Pokmon as partners, do you
know what it takes? Do you know what is needed? If you don't, then you will
never prevail over me!

Don't worry if you don't, because I don't think he does either. If you have any
ice Pokmon, use them now. Rayquazza can overpower these guys, and dragon is
super effective against dragon. Almost anything that could harm ghosts is not
very effective against dragons.

Lv. 52 Shelgon: Dragon, use ice or dragon to defeat it. No big challenge.
Lv. 54 Altaria: Dragon-Flying, but don't be temted to use electricity. Rock
will work if you're desperate.
Lv. 53 Kingdra: Water-Dragon, again, don't use electric, and this time, don't
use ice either. Sheer power/dragons will do the trick.
Lv. 53 Flygon: Dragon-Ground, similar tactics to Altaria, but this guy is
stronger, and a different type.
Lv. 55 Salamance: Dragon-Flying, same as all other dragons.

"Welcome, g1ggy. That incident in Sootopolis City...That was superb work,
putting an end to that crisis all by yourself. Oops! It wouldn't be fair to
say that you alone ended the crisis. You overcame that difficult situation by
working as one with your Pokmon. We trainers raise Pokmon by giving them
items and teaching them new techniques for battle. But we ourselves learn many
things from Pokmon. And this is where your achievements are put to the test
against what others like you have achieved. Now! Who can most elegantly dance
with their Pokmon in Hoenn? Show me right here and now!

Wallace was the former gym leader in Sootopolis, but he became Champion when
Steven retired(after Ruby and Sapphire). Wallace uses the water type, so try
using grass and electricity. Do not only rely on one type, because he has 6
strong Pokmon, and a few hybrids among them.

Lv. 57 Wailord: Pure water, electric or grass will do fine. Beware, it has very
high HP and defence, so strike hard.
Lv. 55 Tentacruel: Water-Poison, don't use grass under any circumstances.
Lv. 56 Ludicolo: Water-Grass, neither grass nor electric will do very well.
Overpower it if you can.
Lv. 56 Whiscash: Water-Ground, DO NOT use electric, it has no effect. Grass
is double super effective!
Lv. 56 Gyarados: Water-Flying, electric will be awesome.
Lv. 58 Milotic: Pure Water same as Wailord.

Prize: 11600

After winning, May and Prof. Birch will come to talk to you. You will then walk
onwards with Wallace, to be inducted into the Hall Of Fame. The credits will
roll, and it will be Game Over.

Do a little dance, then choose continue, and phase 2 of the game will begin.

==========================FAQ*=================================================
===============================================================================

This is a long list of questions that I have been asked. When they were asked,
they probably weren't answered in the guide, but they ARE NOW. See those big
capitalised words? They indicated that you should NOT ever send me emails
asking about something in the FAQ section. EVER. My email address can be found
at the bottom of the FAQ. So READ THE QUESTIONS FIRST, and see if yours is
there. I no longer answer questions UNLESS they are somehow, miraculously, not
answered anywhere in the guide.

------All of these questions have been asked at least once. ALL OF THEM!------

=====
Non game questions*
=====
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. Y0 dawg, Cn U hlp m3 w1t Pokmon?

A. No, I only help people who can speak english. Note, if you live in a non
english speaking country, and your english isn't perfect, that's OK. Just no
n00bish talk!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. Can you help with (insert game here)?

A. Is it Pokemon Emerald? No? Then you probably know more about the game then
I do, so the answer is.................NO!!!!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. Do you use NotePad to write walkthroughs?

A. No, I use TextPad by Helios Software Solutions (www.textpad.com). It's good
for web-coding, programming, and walkthrough writing, and I recommend it to
anyone in any of those fields.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Them: What music do you listen to?
Me: Good music.
Them: Define good music
Me: Well, there's this song called "Piss off, jerk" that I can really relate to.
Them: OMG I love that song!!!
Me: Get the hint.
Them: huh?
Me: Piss off, jerk!
Them: So what do you actually listen to?
Me: Powderfinger, Muse, Eskimo Joe, Nickelback, Evermore, Coldplay, Green Day,
Silverchair, Augie March, The Fray, Snow Patrol, Taxiride, U2, Red Hot Chilli
Peppers, LiVE, Jet, and Bernard Fanning
Them: I haven't heard of Augie March. Who are they?
Me: An Australian band. Are you Australian.
Them: No
Me: Piss of then, jerk.
Them: huh? I was trying to be friendly.
Me: Viruses are friendly ;)
Them: huh? That screwed my computer up, moron.
Me: Piss off, jerk
Them: Oh that's it, I'm gonna hack your ass now
Me: http://www.jellyslab.com/~bteo/hacker.htm Please, do it that way
Them: huh? That guy got pinged, no big deal. Wtf?
Me: *sigh* *blocks email*

=====
Game related questions*
=====
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. I hate my Magikarp, its so weak. Is there any reason why I should get a
Magikarp?

A. Yes, there is. At level 20, Magikarp evolves into Gyarados, a very strong
water-flying hybrid. Gyarados is a favourite amongst dragon trainers, because
it is unaffected by the ice type.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. Do I have to catch the ferry everytime I want to travel to and from Battle
Frontier?

A. No, you can fly to and from the Frontier the same as you can fly between
other cities.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. I caught a Rayquazza/Groudon/Kyogre with bad stats.  How do I get a better
one?

A. Please tell me you're drunk. No really. I swear to god, it has been made
very clear that "ledgendary" = "one off" = "no second chances" They are all the
same, you aint gonna get a better one.

The only way to get two is to trade with a friend, but not many people will want
to give up their ledgendary. In any case, it'll be THE.SAME.THING.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. I'm in Battle Frontier, and I have a Wobbuffet holding Leftovers. They won't
let me compete because of that. What's wrong with Wobuffet holding Leftovers?

A. No one is entirely sure, but the most commonly accepted theory is that:
Wobbuffet has high defense and high HP. A Wobbuffet holding Leftovers would
take a very long time to knock out, and mixed with its low attack, probably
wouldn't knock its opponents out very fast. There is an 8 minute time limit on
Frontier battles, so we assume they are trying to make the game run with less
problems. Just imagine a Wobbuffet v.s. Wobbuffet battle, unless one guy kept
missing, and the other guy got only critical hits, the battle wouldn't end.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. I hate the fog in Lavarige gym. Can I get rid of it?

A. No, you can't. The fog is there to add effect, being a fire gym, the game
designers thought steam(it's not fog)would look good, so they added it.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. I just got a pokmon in a trade, and it refuses to obey me. What can I do?

A. Win badges. Every second badge you win makes more pokmon obey you, and at
higher levels.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. Where do I get Masterball?

A. RTFM (Aqua Hideout)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. Where do I get Heart Scale?

A. RTFM (Sootopolis)

Can also be stolen off Luvdisc (found by using super rod around waterfall
outside Victory Road) using a move such as theif/covet.

There is one in scorched slab (east of Fotree), and one on the beach east of
Lilycove (press A near the rocks, it's hidden)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. Can you send me a list of Pokmon locations?

A. No. If I was energetic enough to make one, it would be in the guide.
Speaking of which, check the contents page in case I haven't updated this
question in a while.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. Where do you get (insert Pokmon here)?

A. RTFM (Ctrl + F -> Pokmeon's Name).  If that doesn't work, Google: Pokemon
Locations
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. How do I cheat/duplicate etc...

A. Go to www.Imalamecheaterwhocantplayproperly.go.away.com

Due to massive gullibility, I must insert a disclaimer. That's not actually a
site. I'm not going to tell you.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. There's a hole in my secret base. What can I do to cover it?

A. Get a wooden plank. They are sold at Lilycove department store on sale days.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. Where do I get the keyword to make the girl in Rustboro laugh?

A. http://www.filb.de/games/gba/emerald/word.php

No, I can't just tell you the word. You have a web browser, right? GO THERE.
The word is different for everyone. If you ask me for the word, I WILL give the
word to get a pink polkadot theme, because you're a bloody moron who deserves
it.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. I had read in a guide that if you had a certain number of pokemon in the PC,
you get special pokemon. Pichu with Surf, Zigzagoon with something, etc... Is
this true?

A. No. But I may be proven wrong. Good for you. I don't care.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. My friend/uncle/mum/brother/daughter/stalker said it is true! Why do you
lie?

A. I don't.  Define lie....Yes, I can always beat you with philosophy :P
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. How do you fish?

A. Get your fishing rod, and register it onto the SELECT button. To do this,
open the menu, find the fishing rod, and select REGISTER.

Walk to some water. Face the water, and press SELECT. A dialogue box will
appear, with some dots. When the dots turn into "Oh, a bite! A pokemon's on the
hook!" press A. If the dots re-appear, repeat the process. If a battle begins,
you are successful. If a message saying "It got away..." appears, you were too
slow.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. Where do I get Mystic/Aurora/whatever.. ticket?

A. Some of them can be found at Nintendo Events. As for the others, I don't
know.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. So what's a Nintendo Event?

A. I live in Australia, and don't plan on going to the USA any time soon (least
fo all for pokemon). Thus, I'm not sure, but I understand they are special
festivalish thingies held by Nintendo where they give away freebies.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(This is a common email conversation I have with jerks. If you annoy me, I will
abuse you. If you can't spell, but insist on being shocked to the extent that
you call for god at the start of every message, I will abuse you and subscribe
you to animal porn. Read the FAQ. Go away.)
Them: OMG Whens teh nex Nintendo Event?
Me: Where do you live?
Them: OMG Brazil
Me: Read the last question in the FAQ ((The one above this one))
Them: OMG it sasy ony USa
Me: Do you live in the USA?
Them: OMG ffs, I said Brazil n00bzr ZoMG!!111
Me: Well then obviously there won't BE a Nintendo Event there anytime soon.
Them: OMG O RLY?
Me: Yeah.  So piss off.

==========================Sub Quests*==========================================
===============================================================================

When you continue playing, you'll be back in your room in Littleroot. Go down
stairs, and talk to Dad. He'll give you the SS Ticket from Mr. Briney. Then,
a news story will flash on the TV. It's about a huge Pokmon. This is one of
the ledgendaries you can catch. Mum will ask you what colour it is, and based
on your choice, you will be able to catch one of the two Lati@s. They are
identical, so the choice doesn't really matter.

Walk outside, and Prof. Birch will take you and May to his lab. There, you will
get a National Dex, which lets you catch Pokmon that aren't native to Hoenn.

Now, in this game, there are stacks and stacks of sub quests. Some can only be
completed after beating the league, some after doing what you just did(above).
Here is the official Sub Quest guide.

=====
The Move Tutor*
=====

He lives in Fallarbor Town. If you've been following the Walkthrough, you'll
know where to get a Heart Scale. If not, go to the Underwater Extras section
inside the Sootopolis chapter.

The Move Tutor can teach your Pokmon any move it could know by its current
level. For example, if your Diglett is past the level at which it can learn
dig, but you deleted that attack at some stage in the past, the move tutor can
teach it back. I highly recommend you teach someone dig, because it is
neccessary if you want to catch the 3 Regis.

Be warned, there is only one Heart Scale found naturally in the game, so you'll
have to trade if you want more moves taught.

=====
Fossils*
=====

The Fossil Maniac lives next door to the Move Tutor. Get a Dig TM from the girl
in his house, then walk into the tunnel. After you beat the Pokmon League, a
new entrance opens up at the back. Go in, and walk east. This place is full
of Whismurs, but you might also see a Ditto if you're lucky. Unfortuneatly,
there is nothing else inside.

Walk east from Fallarbor, then south into the desert. Go south, until you see
a large tower near the southern desert entrance. If you can't see, leave the
desert and come back. It is appropriatley named "Mirage Tower".

You'll need a Mach Bike inside.
On level One, take the stairs in the top right corner.
On level Two, go left, then bike over the cracks. Take the stairs in the bottom
right.
On level Three, go left, and smash the rocks. Take the stairs in the top left.
On level Four, smash the rock, and pick a fossil. The Root Fossil will get you
a Lileep, whilst the Claw Fossil creates an Anorith.

Once you have your fossil, go to Devon Corp. in Rustboro. On level two, talk to
the researcher in the bottom right corner. He will bring your fossil to life.
Now, go back to the Fossil Maniac's house, into the cave at the back, and walk
right to the very end. There, you will find the other fossil. This way, you
can get both extinct Pokmon.

=====
Trainer Hill*
=====

Just north of Mauville, there is a large building called Trainer Hill. It opens
after you win the Pokmon League. Inside, there are four levels - Normal,
Variety, Unique, Expert. Each of these levels contain different mazes. In the
hill, you'll battle two trainers per maze, and each level has four mazes. When
you climb to the top of the hill, you recieve a prize from the owner of Trainer
Hill. If you beat your previous best time, the prize is usually better. I
personally hate Trainer Hill. I think the game's designers just through it in
for the hell of it, without thinking about it. I'd much rather go to Battle
Frontier.

=====
SS Tidal*
=====

You recieve an SS ticket from your father. Board the ship from either Slateport
or Lilycove. On your first journey, Scott will talk to you about his theme park
Battle Frontier. You can now go there on the ship. There are also a few
trainers on board, aswell as a very important item. To get leftovers, go down
the stairs in the top right corner. Then, go to the bin in the top left corner
and look in it. There, you will find leftovers, an item which restores some HP
each turn. Have a nap in your room, and when you wake up, the ship will have
reached your destination. Get off, then back on, and you can now go to Battle
Frontier.

=====
Beldum*
=====

Go to Steven's house in Mosdeep City. On his desk, there is an item ball.
Inside is a Level 5 Beldum, a rare Steel type pokmon. This is the only (of my
knowledge)Beldum in the game.

=====
Battle Steven*
=====

Remember Steven? The guy who helped us out in Mossdeep Space Centre? Well, he
wants to fight. To take him, go to Meteor Falls(near Fallarbor). Get in the
water, and climb the waterfall. Now, enter the cavern. Go east, and up the
stairs, then south west, up the steps, and up the big stairs. Get the iron
tail TM, then enter the cavern. In hear, walk around the big boulder in the
middle, and go up the thin passage. Oh my God! It's Steven. If you battled
Red(a.k.a. Ash)in pokmon G/S/C, you'll recognise Steven's stance.  It indicates
that he is the best trainer in the land. Well, we'll see about that.

-----
Steven
-----

"Oh, wow g1ggy. I'm amazed you knew where to find me. Do you..uh..just think
of me as a rock maniac? No, that can't be right. We battled along side each
other at the SOOTOPOLIS space centre(still haven't found that one, no searching
for it in Mossdeep). You should have a very good idea about how good I am. Ok
g1ggy, if you're going to mount a serious challenge, expect the worst!

Well, the space centre obviously moved house since we were last there. He still
uses the steel type though, so fire is the key. Plenty of hybrids are used, so
don't worry if you don't have a good flamer.

Lv. 77 Skarmory: Steel-Flying, use fire/ice/electricity. No big deal, just
warming you up. Beware, Blazike will be harmed by Skarmory's aerial ace.
Lv. 76 Claydol: Ground-Psychic: use water or darkness. Very easy pokmon to
beat.
Lv. 76 Aggron: Rock-Steel, use water/fighting effectively. Beware, it knows
THUNDER(somehow??). On second thoughts, use ground type.
Lv. 76 Cradily: Grass-Rock, Steel/Bug/Ice is good.
Lv. 76 Armaldo: Bug-Rock. Use water. Usually comes last, but is officially
fifth.
Lv. 78 Metagross: Steel-Psychic. Use fire, but not Blaziken, or use dark

So there you have it. You are now OFFICIALLY Hoenn's most powerful trainer.
Unlike previous pokmon games (where you battled Red(Ash Ketchum), and became
ultimate champ), the credits don't roll. In fact, nothing happens. Weird.
Leave the cave, and do some more sub-quests.

PREREQUISITES: -DIVE
               -SURF

Along Route 108 there is an abandoned ship. Once you have Surf and Dive enter
the ship and you'll encounter trainers and civillians, search for an item called
Scanner(you'll need to locate keys in order to get it). Once you,ve found it go
to the captains room and talk to Captain Stern's aide, he'll tell you to take it
to Captain Stern. Go to the Slateport Shipyard and give it to him and you'll get
a choice between DeepSeaScale or DeepSeaTooth. These scales can be given to
certain pokmon to evolve them.

=====
Rayquazza*
=====

The ultimate dragon can be found in Sky Pillar, just west on Pacificlodge Town.

On level 1, turn left at the entry, and walk up, then right towards the door.

On level 2, use the Mach Bike to get across those cracks (go down for 2 sets),
then race across 1 set left. For the last set(up), you must go across in one
of the two columns nearer to the middle of the pillar. Good Luck.

On level 3, walk all the way around to the door on the right.

On level 4, Mach Bike straight across the first set, then STOP! If you can't,
try turning as soon as you get off the cracks. Now, bike up to the second rock
from the right wall, and turn to face the bottom side of the pillar. Bike down,
then left towards the crack second from bottom, then down as soon as you pass
the rock, then across again. You must do this all without stopping, otherwise
you won't have the momentum to get across. This took me 10 attempts, so don't
expect it to be easy. When you've done this, bike up over the leftmost set of
cracks. Now, go right, and drop through the MIDDLE cracks, not the ones on the
sides. This is even harder than anything else on this level.

On level 3, go up the stairs.

On level 4, take the stairs to the left.

On level 5, walk all the way around and take the stairs.

On the rooftop, walk up to Rayquazza.

If you don't have any ice Pokmon or Pokmon of a very high level, it's probably
a good idea to use your master ball to catch this dragon. If not, then I
suggest you either put it to sleep or freeze it before you start throwing ultra
balls. Well, I didn't suggest this, it was actually Geoffrey Marcus who brought
this to my attention.

Rayquazza
Level: 70
Type: Dragon/Flying
Ability: Air Lock - negates weather effects
Moves:
- Fly
- Rest
- Extremespeed
- Outrage

=====
Groudon and Kyogre*
=====

On the second floor of the weather institute, there is a man at his computer.
If you talk to him, he will tell you of extreme weather on a certain route. Go
to that route, and look for either an extra cave, or an extra dive spot. Enter,
and you will find the domains of either Groudon or Kyogre. You only get one
shot at each Pokmon, so good luck. Also, if you don't find the cave/dive
fast enough, it will end, and you will have to return to the weather institute.
By the way, you need a Mach Bike to get Groudon.

Groudon
Level: 70
Type: Ground
Ability: Drought - summons sunlight in battle
Moves:
- Fire Blast
- Rest
- Fissure
- Solarbeam

Kyogre
Level: 70
Type: Water
Ability: Drizzle - summons rain in battle
Moves:
- Hydro Pump
- Rest
- Sheer Cold
- Double Edge

=====
The 3 Regis*
=====

***** This section is still under construction. I have written what I have
done myself, and therefore know for a fact. If you want to find rumours about
the Regis, do a google search *****

The names of the Pokmon are Regice, Regirock, and Registeel. They aren't as
strong as the other rare Pokmon, but they are the hardest to find. Before you
find them, you need to unlock them. To do this, get a Relicanth(found under-
water around Sootopolis)and put it last in your party. Now, get a Wailord
(evolves from Wailmer at Level 40, which is found by fishing whilst surfing
around Sootopolis)and put it first in your party.

You now need Pokmon that know the following moves: Surf, Dive. Go to
Pacificlodge, and surf west from the very bottom of the city. Stay along the
southern end of the currents until you are forced into the middle, and you
should get to a very small dive spot. Dive, and go south. You are now in a
long passage. Follow it south until you reach a rock. Go to the end of the
rock where the strang symbols are, and dive. You are now inside Sealed Chamber

The panels in this room are a braille alphabet. If you want, you can learn it,
but I'll translate any further braille, so you don't really have to.

    Position of letters Squares shaded(count across from top left)

ABC  DEF  .  <--Full Stop/Period      1  13  12          124  14  123    346

Just in case you were wondering, the braille outside said "Go up here."

If you have done everything I said so far(Relicanth and Wailord), there will
be an open cavern at the back of the Chamber. Enter, then go to the Braille
at the very end of the chamber. Press A whilst looking over the middle piece
of Braille to read it. A door will open somewhere(you can't see where).

Infact, three doors opened, each in different places. These are the three doors
guarding the 3 Regis.

***** I have found the doors, and this section will soon be finished. Please
don't email me locations, I already know! *****

=====
Latios and Latias*
=====

***** This section is still under construction. I have written what I have
done myself, and therefore know for a fact. If you want to find rumours about
Latios and Latias, do a google search *****

When you are watching TV with mum, after winning the Pokmon Leauge, there will
be a story about a Pokmon. You are asked what colour it is, and must respond.
The colour you choose determines whether you get a Latios, or Latias. Red gives
you Latias, while Blue gives you Latios. Both of these Pokmon are of the
Psychic-Flying type, and both follow a certain route around Hoenn.

The route can be determined by looking in your Pokedex. After you see a Lati@s
(Lati@s is a way of writing both of the names in one word. The @ can represent
an A or an O), you can trace its location on the Pokedex. Never fly to the
nearest city to the Pokmon, because it will instantly run away. Always walk
until you are in the same spot on the map as it is on the Pokedex. Then, go
into the nearest grass patch, and you should see it very soon.

A good strategy to catch Lati@s is to put it to sleep/freeze it before it can
run. It will run after you hit it once, unless you do one of those things.
Otherwise, slowly chip away at its health, and after meeting it a few times,
you can start throwing balls. Good Luck.

Remember, even if Lati@s runs, it still keeps any HP loss, as well as sleep/
freeze conditions it has. It won't, however, keep poison or burns.

*****After I catch a Lati@s, i'll include its statistics. Don't send them to
me!*****

=====
Mew!*
=====

To get Mew, you must aquire the Old Sea Chart. Now this really stinks: To get
it you can do 2 things:
The first way is to buy a Gameshark from a video game store or online (like at
Amazon.com). Then, plug it into the Gameboy, start the game, and go anywhere
you want. Then, hold L and enter the code:
 19C67C656689
 94318A10E753
You are now on Faraway Isle. Mew will immediately see you, and you'll enter
battle. Mew is psychic, so battle it with Bug, Dark, and Ghost. If you
accidentally kill it, turn off the Gameboy and retry it: just like several
other legendaries, you only get one shot at it. You can't save on Faraway Isle,
though. Unfortunately, this place is off the maps, so you can't fly back.
Instead enter this code while holding L:
 19C67C656689
 12B9BF13D649
This code is similar to the first, but is slightly different. The second way
is to go to a Nintendo Game Event, but they haven't been doing those for several
years. If you know someone who went to one and has a Chart, mix records with
them to get one.

=====
Nincada's Secret*
=====

I'd just like to let you know soemthing about the Pokemon Nincada. It has a huge
secret. They carry an egg inside them until they evolve. Simply get a Nincada
and leave at least one space on your team. Level Nincada up to Level 20, so that
it evolves into Ninjask. When you check out your team, you should have a
Shedinja on your team. Shedinja has only 1hp, but it can only be injured by
bug-type weaknesses, so it is a valuable fighter.

===============================================================================
==========================Battle Frontier*=====================================
===============================================================================

At battle frontier, walk into the large red building. In here, you will find
all the information you need about every aspect of the frontier. You will also
meet up with Scott again, and he will mention that he lives in the frontier. To
find Scott, look on your Frontier pass. His house is the small one west of
Battle Tower, and East of Battle Dome.

Each event in Battle Frontier has a brain, similar to a gym leader. You battle
a brain after winning a certain number of the same event in a row(eg. 4 Battle
Dome victories, or 4 lots of 7 Battle Tower wins). Defeating a brain earns you
a symbol, and you can recieve one symbol per event per difficulty(Lv.50 or Open)

No items can be used in the Frontier, and no experienced is gained.

=====
Wild Pokmon in the Frontier*
=====

There are 2 Pokmon that can only be caught in the Frontier. To get Sudowoodo,
go south from Battle Pyramid, and you will cross a thin strip of land. Use
the Wailmer Pail when you get to the Sudowoodo, and it will fight you. Sudo-
woodo is Lv. 40, and not particularly tough. If you catch it, it'll probably
be the first National Dex Pokmon you catch.

Now, surf west from where the tree stood, then go down the waterfall. Continue
west, and north, until you reach a cave. Go inside. You are in Artisan Cave,
home to Smeargles. They know 1 move, sketch, which learns whatever move you use
against them. If you go west at the cave entry, then north, then east and up
the stairs, you'll be on a new level. There is a cave entrance, which takes you
back to the Frontier, but if you keep walking you'll find a Carbos. Go back
down the stairs, then up the nearby steps. Walk up to the two rocks, and press
A whilst looking over the one of the right for a Calcium. Then go south west,
until you see some steps. Don't take them, instead go east, and down the other
steps to the HP UP. Then, go back up, north, and down the other steps to the
Zinc. Now, go back to the entrance, then north until you see two rocks. Press
A over the northern one for a Protein. You can now leave the cave(if you caught
a Smeargle)

=====
Battle Tower*
=====

This large tower is right in the centre of the frontier. There are 4 events
inside; Single, Double, Multi and Multi link. In single, you choose any three
(non ledgendary) Pokmon from your team, and battle a trainer. After winning,
you can choose to continue, rest, or retire. Continuing brings on another
trainer, resting allows you to save and turn off the power, whilst retiring
removes you from the event. If you turn off the power without saving, you are
automatically disqualified. Only single has a frontier brain battle.

In double, you enter 4 Pokmon in the competition, and they fight in a 2 on 2
battle with one other trainer. This is similar to 2 on 2 battles in the field.
In multi, you enter 2 Pokmon, and together with a partner(who you choose), you
fight 2 on 2. Multi link is the same as multi, but you must connect to someone
else's GBA, so that they can be your teamate.

=====
Battle Dome*
=====

Battle dome is located in the north western corner of the frontier. In here,
there are 2 events, single and double. In both events, you enter 3 Pokmon, and
battle with 2. Before battling, you are given information about your opponents
three Pokmon, strategies, and strengths. Battle dome is all about strategy,
and knowledge of type advantages.

=====
Battle Palace*
=====

Battle palace lives in the south eastern area of the frontier. There are 2
events, single and double. In both cases, you, the trainer, do almost nothing.
You can choose to switch Pokmon in and out, but can't tell a Pokmon which
attack to use. The attack will depend on the Pokmon's nature, the attack type
and the EVs the Pokmon has. This makes the palace very difficult, unless you
have been raising your Pokmon well throughout the game.

=====
Battle Arena*
=====

In battle arena, 3 Pokmon are entered in an order which can't be changed. The
battle arena is similar to Battle KO(battle tent), with 2 trainers fighting it
out infront of 3 judges. This is a test of strategy, as battles are usually
determined based on the order of Pokmon.

=====
Battle Factory*
=====

Battle factory is the closest event to the Frontier's entry point. You don't
need Pokmon to compete here, because battles are conducted using rental Pokmon
You are given 6 options, and must choose a team of 3. Try to choose an evenly
balanced team, similar to Recommended Team 1 of the Pokmon League. Before each
battle, you recieve clues about your opponent's tactics. After the battle, you
have the opportunity to trade Pokmon with your opponent. You can only swap one
Pokmon, and you can't see your opponent Pokmon's stats until you swap, so be
careful when swapping.

=====
Battle Pike*
=====

Battle Pike is located inside the big Seviper in the middle of the park. Inside
you enter 3 Pokmon, and progress through 14 rooms. In the odd numbered rooms
(1,3,5...)you see 2 assisstants and 3 doors. One assisstant allows to save, and
quit etc..., whilst the other predicts what can be found behind one of the three
doors. One of the doors will contain a path and wild Pokmon, whilst the others
will contain either: 1 trainer, a 2on2 battle, a trainer who won't battle, an
assisstant with a tough trainer(your Pokmon will usually be healed if you win),
a nurse who will heal some Pokmon, or a man and his Kirlia, which will change
the status of either 1 or 2 of your Pokmon.

=====
Battle Pyramid*
=====

This is the big pyramid in the north east corner. Inside, you have to battle
your way up 7 levels of the pyramid. When you start a level, there is very
little light. But, by defeating wild Pokmon and trainers, the light will
increase. There are items in here, so you can't bring in any (including hold
items). But, you can equip what you find inside, and the next time you play,
you will still have whatever you found last time.

===============================================================================
==========================Gym Leaders*=========================================
===============================================================================

Most towns and cities have gyms. Every gym has its own leaders, who is the
best trainer in town. He/she is also the expert on their chosen Pokmon type.
Gym leaders give you Pokmon league badges if you can beat them. This isn't
easy. In this section, I will describe, with as much detail as possible, each
gym leader.

=====
Roxanne*
=====

Leader or the Rustboro Gym, the Rockin' Whiz (as the Match Call feature
identifies her) loves the rock type. She isn't very challenging, but the first
isn't meant to be the hardest.

Pokmon: Level 12 Geodude, Level 12 Geodude, Level 15 Nosepass.

Her Strategy: Doesn't really have one. Just rock solid defence with the
Geodudes, and some more attack from Nosepass.

Your Strategy: Catch a Wingull or Lotad before Petalburg woods, and by the time
you battle, it should know water gun/absorb and bullet seed (depending on what
you caught). Keep using that move.

Prize: Stonebadge - raises Pokmon's attack, Rock Tomb TM.

=====
Brawly*
=====

Brawly resides in the dark and spooky Dewford Town gym. The big hit loves his
fighting Pokmon, and generally prefers brawn over brain, hence the name.

Pokmon: Level 16 Machop, Level 16 Meditite, Level 19 Makuhita.

His Strategy: Not much. Karate Chop with Machop. Meditite can't hurt you if
you hit it(I think he's trying to use focus punch, not sure), Makuhita is tough,
but not smart. Usually uses the same move 2-5 times in a row.

Your Strategy: Wingull/Taillow's wing attack if you have it, otherwise just use
your starter. Fighting Pokmon have low special stats, so using fire/water/
grass should hurt them.

Prize: Musclebadge - All Pokmon up to Level 30 will obey you, Bulk Up TM.

=====
Wattson*
=====

Wattson is an electric master from Mauville Town. The Match Call describes him
as a Swell Shock? He is the smartest leader so far.

Pokmon: Level 20 Voltorb, Level 20 Electrike, Level 22 Magneton, Level 24
Manectric.

His Stategy: Voltorb self-destructs, Electrike likes to use thunder-wave so you
can't move, then either use howl to strengthen his quick attack, or shock wave
to zap you. Magenton use shock wave, and Manectric is a bigger(and stronger)
version of Electrike.

Your Strategy: Survive self-destruct, then paralyze/put to sleep Electrike, use
Torchic on Magneton if you can, otherwise get a Makuhita in Dewford Town, and
out muscle the powerful Manectric with whatever you have. Ground is good
against Electric, but I haven't seen any ground Pokmon yet. Trade if possible.

Prize: Dynamobadge - Raises speed, Shock Wave TM.

=====
Flannery*
=====

Flannery is the flaming hot Lavaridge Town leader. The Passion Burns within
this trainer, who uses the fire type. Flannery is easier than Wattson.

Pokmon: Level 24 Numel, Level 24 Slugma, Level 25 Camerupt, Level 29 Torkoal.

Her Strategy: Basic fire strategy for first three, pure offence using fire
moves. Torkoal loves to use Overheat on your strong Pokmon, and non fire moves
on others. This is a good strategy considering Overheat's affect.

Your Strategy: Be waterwise, or use the ground type. This should work fine for
all Pokmon. If Torkoal takes out your water Pokmon, just use someone strong/
fast, and you should win with the powerful/first hit.

Prize: Heatbadge - All Pokmon up to Level 50 obey you, Overheat TM.

=====
Norman*
=====

Norman is your father. He is also gym leader in Petalburg city. The reliable
one uses normal type Pokmon.

Pokmon: Level 27 Spinda, Level 27 Vigoroth, Level 29 Linoone, Level 31 Slaking.

His Strategy: The first two will just try to weaken/confuse you, allowing the
others to take you out. Linoone maximises his attack using belly drum, then
recovers using hyper potion, in the first two turns. Slaking can only attack
every second turn because of his special ability (this also raises attack).

Your Strategy: Defeat Spinda and Vigoroth quickly using fast fighting moves, and
defeat Linoone even faster. Take him out before he can attack you. Attack
Slaking hard and heal when he doesn't attack.

Prize: Balancebadge - Raises defence, Facade TM.

=====
Winona*
=====

Winona resides in the Fortree City gym. The sky tamer uses the flying type.

Pokmon: 29 Swablu, Level 29 Tropius, Level 29 Skarmory, Level 30 Pelipper,Level
33 Altaria

Her Strategy: Swablu, Tropius, and Skarmory weaken you, Pelipper confuses your
main Pokmon, then Altaria's earthquake devestates your rock and electric
Pokmon(the super effective ones). Altaria sometimes fights second if Swablu
is smashed.

Your Strategy: Take out the first three with ease. Don't kill Pelipper whilst
confused, or Altaria will punish you. Just use something like flash until you
are no longer confused. Then take Altaria out using a combined effort.

Prize: Featherbadge - All up to Level 70 obey, Aerial Ace TM

=====
Tate and Liza*
=====

Tate and Liza are the twin rulers of Mossdeep gym. The mystic duo use the
psychic type.

Pokmon: Level 41 Xatu, Level 41 Claydol, Level 42 Solrock, Level 42 Lunatone.

Their Strategy: Claydol uses Earthquake, which no-one else on his team is
affected by. Xatu and Solrock use psychic, whilst Lunatone(and Solrock) use
teamwork combos like Sunny Day and Solarbeam.

Your Strategy: Take out Xatu if you can, but focus on Claydol first. Then, try
to stop Solrock and Lunatone working together(by knocking out in this order:
Claydol, Solrock, Xatu, Lunatone[you can swap Claydol and Xatu])

Prize: Mindbadge - raises special, Calm Mind TM

=====
Juan*
=====

Juan is the leader of Sootopolis gym. The Dandy Charm uses water Pokmon.

Pokmon: Level 41 Luvdisc, Level 41 Whiscash, Level 43 Sealeo, Level 43 Crawdunt
and Level 46 Kingdra.

His Stratey: Luvdisc and Whiscash attempt to weaken your super effective Pokmon
(Whiscash is water-ground, so you can't use electricity), Sealeo attempts to
freeze you, whilst Crawdunt's Crabhammer does heavy damage. Kingdra uses water
pulse, ice beam, rest and double team effectively. Nothing is super effective
against it.

Your Strategy: Don't let anyone faint against the first 4 if possible, and try
to not use your electric/grass to early if possible. Against Kingdra, use your
strongest attack as much as possible, and if frozen, switch out.

Prize: Rainbadge - All Pokmon obey, Water Pulse TM

===============================================================================
==========================The Trick House*=====================================
===============================================================================

The Trick House can be found just north of Slateport City. It is run by the
Trick Master, and is very simple. To beat the trick master, you need to find a
scroll inside the house (behind the hole in the wall). On the scroll is a
password, which you take to the door. When you get through, the Trick Master
gets angry and gives you a prize. There is a new trick master challenge every
time you earn a new badge. In this section I will describe them in detail.

=====
Challenge 1 - Cut*
=====

Very simply, just use your cutting skills (HM01) to get where you want to go.
As I said, very very easy.

Hiding Spot: Top right corner of table.

Requirements: HM01 (cut), Musclebadge

Prize: Rary Candy - Raises a Pokmon's level by one. Good prize for an easy
challenge.

=====
Challenge 2 - Switches*
=====

You need to step on switches to activate panels across the holes in the floor.
Each switch corresponds with one panel.

Hiding Spot: Right pot plant

Requirements: Dynamobadge

Prize: Timer Ball - a ball which works better in longer battles. Good for
legendary Pokmon.

=====
Challenge 3 - Door Swaps*
=====

This is almost identical to Wattson's setup in Mauville gym. Stepping on a
switch swaps the door colours. Easy. Just keep stepping on switches to clear
the path. You need Rock Smash to get in.

Hiding Spot: Dresser on top right of screen

Requirements: HM06 (rock smash), Heatbadge

Prize: Hard Stone - hold item which powers up rock type attacks.

=====
Challenge 4 - Strength*
=====

This puzzle simply involves using strength to get from entry to exit. Use
strength to move the boulders out of your way, but be careful how much you push
them. If you push a boulder so it touches the wall, it won't go in the opposite
direction (duh). This is the hardest challenge so far, because you actually
have to think! (a lot of people don't like doing that, they shouldn't have
bought this game).

Hiding Spot: Left window

Requirements: HM04 (strength), Balancebadge

Prize: Smoke Ball - use to escape from wild Pokmon. Same as fluffy tail.

=====
Challenge 5 - Mechadolls*
=====

Mechadolls are robots that ask you questions about the game. If you've been
paying attention so far, this should be a piece of cake. If not, then you'll
just have to guess. You can leave the house and re-enter later with the answer
to a question.

Hiding Spot: Left pot plant

Requirements: Featherbadge

Prize: Taunt TM - forces the opponent only to use attacking moves. We've been
taunting the trick master with our superiority, so it's a fitting prize.

=====
Challenge 6 - Rotating Doors*
=====

Remember those doors in Winona's bird gym. Well, the Trick Master has stolen
some and stuffed them into his trick house. As a result, you'll find this very
easy because you've done it before.

Hiding Spot: Right cupboard door (in top right corner of screen)

Requirements: Mindbadge

Prize: Magnet - Raises the strength of electric type attacks(hold item).

=====
Challenge 7 - Rotating Floor*
=====

In the spirit of not having new ideas, this challenge copies Tate and Liza's
gym. I'm not complaining, but the challenges are getting easier. Probably
getting you ready for the HUGE final challenge. By the way, the brown circles
are teleporters.

Hiding Spot: Right window

Requirments: Rainbadge

Prize: PP Max - Raises PP of a selected attack to its maximum level(equivalent
to 3 PP ups)

=====
Challenge 8 - Slippery Floors*
=====

This challenge is so tricky, you don't even see where the Trick Master is
watching you from. You just have to find him. The floors inside the house are
slippery, so slide around until you find what you need.

Hiding Spot: Bottom left seat(at table)

Requirements: Induction in Hall of Fame

Prize: Tent(Red or Blue) - part of your secret base

You are now the Trick Master's equal. As a result, there are no more challenges

===============================================================================
==========================Battle Tent*=========================================
===============================================================================

Battle Tents can be found in Slateport City, Fallarbor Town, and Verdanturf
Town. There is a different event in each tent. Battle Tent wins and EXP don't
go towards your grand total, but you can get prizes for winning inside. In this
section I will describe each battle tent.

=====
Battle Swap*
=====

You don't use your own Pokmon inside Slateport battle tent. Instead, you are
shown a variey of Pokmon, and must choose three. Everytime you win a battle,
you have the opportunity to swap one of your Pokmon for one of your opponents.
Try and choose a well balance team (fire, water, grass), or if you can't, swap
for one as soon as you can. If you win four battles in a row, you get a small
prize (something like a full heal etc).

=====
Battle Spirit*
=====

In Verdanturf's battle tent, you can't tell your Pokmon which move to use.
This means that they will battle depeding on their nature, and the moves which
match it. If your Pokmon's attacks match its nature, it will do well in
Verdanturf. If not, it will probably not even attack. This is very depressing,
so choose your Pokmon's attacks wisely.

=====
Battle KO*
=====

In Fallarbor's battle tent, the battles are most like real life. You choose
the team and you choose the attacks. However, you can't tell Pokmon to switch
in and out, and battles only last for 3 turns. After these turns, the winner
is determined by judges, based on "Mind"(how aggresive the battlers were, using
attacking moves will raise this, whilst using stat reducers will lower it),
"Skill"(How effective the moves were, Super effectivness will raise this), and
"Body"(The points go to the Pokmon that lost less HP(%) during the battle).

===============================================================================
==========================Pokmon Contests*====================================
===============================================================================

The Pokmon contest hall is located in Lilycove City. In contests, Pokmon use
their regular battle attacks, but these attacks have different effects. To see
their effects, open the Pokmon's summary menu, and look in the 4th tab. A move
will give the user a certain number of hearts, and it will "jam" a certain
number of hearts from some other users.

=====
Ranks*
=====

When you first compete in a contest, you will compete in normal rank. When a
Pokmon wins a normal rank, it can progress on to super, then hyper, and finally
master. In each ranking, the opponents will be more popular(see pokeblocks).
Once a Pokmon wins master rank, it can compete in that rank as much as it wants

=====
Pokeblocks*
=====

You can get a pokeblock case from the receptionist inside the hall. Now, go to
one of the berry blending machines on the right, and blend with someone to make
pokeblocks. These can be used to improve the appearance of a Pokmon in a
certain category. When looking at the pokeblock inside its case(Key Items),
notice the colour code next to the flavour of it. These colours determine which
appearance factor will be improved, so use this in conjunction with your Pokmon
moves to determine which Pokmon should get which pokeblock.

Orange: Spicy: Cool
Blue: Dry: Beauty
Pink: Sweet: Cute
Green: Bitter: Smart
Yellow: Sour: Tough

The higher the level of the pokeblock, the more it will improve appearance,
the higher the feel, the more the Pokmon will like it(which results in happy
Pokmon, who use the Return attack better).

Pokeblocks can also be used in Safari Zone, as a form of bait. You can also
place them in dishes to attract otherwise shy Pokmon.

=====
Paintings*
=====

In the Lilycove Museum(North west corner of town, near pokemart), talk to the
old man standing in front of a door to have him take you inside. There is a
special exhibit, but it is empty. When you win a master rank contest, ask
the painter at contest hall if you can have the painting put in the museum,
He will say yes, and you can put the painting in the exhibit. There are 5
slots, one for victory in each discipline (cool, cute etc...).

==============================================================================
==========================HMs and their locations*============================
==============================================================================

HM moves can be used both in and out of the battle arena. However, to be used
outside, they each require a certain badge. I'll go into more detail about HMs
in this section.

*note* Accuracy: 100 does NOT mean the attack will never miss, it means the
attack will RARELY miss (--- means the attack never misses).
*note* Attack Strength: --- does NOT mean the attack does nothing, it simply

==============================================================================
==========================EVs*================================================
==============================================================================

***** The majority of this section was taken from Asiel Gracia's EV guide. I
wrote the section, but the information was already provided *****

EVs, or Effort Values, are points that can increase your pokmon's stats. Each
pokmon can have a maximum of 510 EVs, but not all in one stat. For every 4
EV points you put into one stat, it will increase by 1 real point when the pok-
mon reaches Lv. 100.

Real points are the actual stats which can be viewed within the game. To check
a pokmon's REAL stats, open its summary inside the pokmon menu, then look at
the second window. The stats shown are effected by EV stats.

There are three ways to obtain EV stats:

1. Vitamins - eg. Zinc, HP UP etc. Each vitamin gives 10 EV points, and each
pokmon can recieve up to 10 of each vitamin. So, if you give a pokmon 10
proteins, it will recieve 100 attack EVs, equivalent to 25 extra attack points
at Lv. 100

2. Battling - whenever you recieve experience points from battling a pokmon,
you also recive EV points. The amount of EVs given off varies from pokmon to
pokmon, as does the stat the EVs go to. For full details, see Asiel Gracia's
guide, which can be found on Gamefaqs.

3. Macho Brace - when battling whilst holding a Macho Brace, a pokmon recieves
double EVs. This doesn't effect EVs gained from vitamins.

The maximum amount of EVs on a single stat is 255. However, as 255 isn't
divisible by 4, 3 EVs are waisted. So the realisitic maximum is 252.

In Emerald version, berries can lower EVs. Here is a table detailing how.

+----------------------------------------------------------------------------+
| Berry            | EV lowered by 10                                        |
+----------------------------------------------------------------------------+
| Pomeg            | Hit Points (HP)                                         |
|------------------+---------------------------------------------------------|
| Kelpsy           | Attack                                                  |
|------------------+---------------------------------------------------------|
| Qualot           | Defense                                                 |
|------------------+---------------------------------------------------------|
| Hondew           | Special Attack                                          |
|------------------+---------------------------------------------------------|
| Grepa            | Special Defense                                         |
|------------------+---------------------------------------------------------|
| Tamato           | Speed                                                   |
+----------------------------------------------------------------------------+

Note that EVs can not affect PPs(the number of times a move can be used before
being restored, using an ether/pokmon centre)in any way. That is because
PP stats can't be changed by battling, only by using PP Ups.

Once upon a time, handheld gaming wasn't popular. Platform gaming was the ONLY
way to go. Then, with the release of pokmon R/B, all of that changed. Thanks
to pokmon, we now have awesome handheld gaming systems like the DS and PSP.
All of this is because of pokmon. So, next time some moron asks you why you
play a "lame" game like pokmon, ask him/her what's on his/her PSP. Or their
DS. And remind them that it's all because of pokmon.

That's all from me. Keep playing, and I'll keep writing!
