This guide consists of all the items found in the Gameboy Advance US version of
Final Fantasy V. There are some name changes to previous versions, and some new
items. Listed below are every single item in the game, along with full
descriptions. If you have any questions or comments then please email me. If I
missed any items, then try and describe what the item does, and it's location.
Please title all email concerning this document as "Final Fantasy V Item FAQ"
so it doesn't get sent to spam messages.
*Note* This is not a guide about spells so you will not find spells included,
however if an item has a spell effect of some type, it IS included with this
guide.
*NOTE* To reduce the confusion on attack power, take the total attack power of
each weapon and add 3 to it, I have listed the actual value (the difference
between base attack (3) and total power after equipping the weapon).
The Healing Staff, Power Staff, Wonder Rod, and Rune bow drop all attack power
to 0. However the Hyper Wrist does add 10 to the above items attack power.

Q: Why are the spells not listed?
A: Good question. Since spells are not considered items by any means, there is
no place for them at the moment. I have however included things such as
scrolls, drinks, or any other item or equipment that has a spell technique
built into the equipment itself.

Q: I have "Ribbon" equipped, so why am I still getting affected by some status
effects?
A: Due to several tests with the "Ribbon", I have found that there is a
percentage of prevention for each status. Some will always be prevented, while
others only prevented at 50%. Also some bosses will ignore "Ribbon" and still
hit with it. However if you have any accessory that specialized in blocking
specific status, it will be prevented with 100 percent rate. Also I am pretty
sure there are some status effects not blocked.
Here's some status effects not blocked: Slow, Stop, Maelstrom, Aging
Here's some status effects not always blocked: Death, Zombie, Confuse, Berserk
Always blocked status effects: Frog, Sleep, Mini, Silence, Poison
Q: So what enemies give Elixirs?
A: Since there are several enemies that drop them I will show a list of all
enemies that drop them.
Normal enemies;
Moldwynd, Calcruthl, Undead Husk, Jackanapes (rare steal), Zu (steal and
dropped), Gigas (steal), Skull Eater, Ra Mage, Enchanted Fan (rare steal),
Strapparer (steal), Cure Beast, Magic Dragon, Red Dragon, Zephyrus (rare steal
and dropped), Flaremancer (steal), Alchymia, Landcrawler, Level Checker, White
Flame (rare steal), Archelon, Crystal Dragon (steal)
Bosses;
Soul Cannon (rare steal), Gilgamesh (1), Tyrannosaur, Dragon Pod, Crystal x4
(steal), Exdeath (steal), Triton/Nereid/Phobos (rare steal), Leviathan
(steal), Azulmagia (steal), Catastrophe (steal), Necrophobe (steal), Omega
MKII (steal), Neo Shinryu (steal)
Q: Are there items that can be missed.
A: Several items can be missed. Some boss steals, shops in Tule, Walse, Lix,
and Istory will disappear during the final stages of the game. Some enemies
are limited to what time you can battle them (though most items are stealable
from other enemies as well), many dungeons become unavailable after completing
them (Hint HINT; Karnak Castle), other than that, the rest are available by
revisiting the areas that have those items.
Q: I have noticed that your stats for weapons are off by 3, what gives?
A: Very simple answer to that. The minimum attack without a weapon is 3. Unless
it is one of the weapons (mainly rods and staffs) that drops attack to 0, then
add the number I have given and add three. It can be confusing, but those are
the true stats of the equipment.
