After you beat the spider and the SA-X, in Sector 2, there is a plant boss, it is quite hard actually but good luck (to get out of the venus fly traps, repeatedly use space jump, it worked for so I hope it works for you.

There is a Chozo-X wound up in plant vines that you have to fight somewhere.

When the battle starts, jump on the tall platform just in front of it and shoot Ice Missles as quickly as possible at it, and when it shoots its Plasma Beam at your head, duck down and keep firing away.

When the yellow balls excreted from the plants come close to you, ball up and drop a Power Bomb to them out.

This will not kill the plants making the balls, however. Keep doing this until you fight the Core X.

Coles answered:

Jump to the middle- left side of the main area- there's some plants in front of it, but blast it aside and go on. A warning- the next big room has an SA-X in it!
