Check on all of the houses in Madra; there will be an elder and his wife. Read his mind and then use the Healing Fungus. For the flying boat, near the end of the game you team up with Isaac and his lot and one of the Psynergies you learn as a result is Hover. Use that to levitate the boat, but this is very likely to exhaust what energy you have for that Psynergy.
